Personality or Looks? [Turn ons, and Turn offs]
Alright GeeDee.
Pretty much, I'm talking about Turn ONS, and Turn OFFS. Theres always been a constant debate over looks/personality. Personally, I'll be the first to admit; I really NEED a good personality in a woman, but if I'm not attracted to her, I probably won't take the time to find out. This is a problem, because the fact is and will ALWAYS be: The girls I find attractive do NOT always have the best personality. This is true for almost everybody. So guys discuss: - Personality/Looks - Turn ons/offs. |
I agree with you. I prefer personality over looks any time, any day, any year. Only problem is...I have to at least socialize with someone in order to befriend them in a way :P

For me, the personality/looks ratio should be 50:50, because in my mind you can't really pull one off without the other. I don't think someone looks attractive unless they have a certain type of personality. For example.. there could be a girl that everyone thinks is so attractive, but she's a complete ditz. So because she's a ditz, she presents herself in such a way that makes me physically unattracted to her.
But if I had to choose certain physical attributes, one of the biggest ones would have to be protruding hipbones.. there's just something about them that drives me crazy; especially if they make their jeans/panties stick out a bit. Uhg that's so attractive to me. Also, long dark hair and light-toned skin. Foreign structure is also a huge plus. As for personality traits.. an artistic outlook on life. Someone that's gone through similar experiences as me, and thus can perceive things in a similar way as me. And I love feminine girls that are turned off by most masculine things. Also, when they've acted cute so much that it's just become apart of their personality. Oh, and being able to tolerate me is a plus too :] Turn ons? The physical attributes described above. To protect your virgin eyes, I wont go into detail about my sexual turn ons. Turn offs? Large boobs. Tan skin. Bleach-blond hair. Girls that don't act proper (Belching, being "one of the guys" etc.). Larger girls (Yes. I'm shallow. Extremely so. Don't get me wrong, though, I've dated a few girls that definitely weren't model-thin, too.) Anyway.. that's my two cents. |

For me it is mostly personality. but I wouldnt mind at least SOME looks. I would befriend a person with a great personality and usually fall for them. ((Most of the time.)) But if they are like REALLY ugly ((Not to sound shallow)) But I usually stay friends with those people. o3o

Depending on how the person looks, and how much I love them, I might be able to look past their exterior. >__>;
I'm not a very shallow person, so "ugly" in my books is something equivalent to someone who had their face bashed in and set on fire. xD <<;; As far as looks go, though.. If a girl is wearing cat ears (which most of my girlfriends/ex's do) I won't pay attention to any other physical aspect of them. Personality.. well, if I speak to a person for 10 minutes, I know exactly what type of person they are; and sometimes, I like the mean, bitchy people.. >>;; |

Both, definetly. I can't be with someone if I don't even find them remotely attractive... But if they're the most gorgeous guy I've ever seen with an awful personality, I can't be with them either. Turn offs: smokers, druggies, alcoholics, extreme fatness [go ahead, call me shallow], guys who can't hold a conversation for longer than five minutes.. Turn ons: Intelligence, same interests, nice hair xD |
Personality/Looks ...Hmm.. Well I like a combo of both. Personality more than looks though a bit more. The spark needs to be there, like you say, but it also needs to have the personality to back it up. If not, the spark fades.
Turn ons: Not too thin, not too large(Basically average, basic curves are very nice. I don't want to date someone who's a toothpic...But I also don't want to date someone I can't sit next to on the bus... I've never seen someone that big though.) Is female Has a sense of humor similar interests Pretty eyes <3 Carries on a conversation well Assertive, confident, kind Turn offs: Very skinny, or very not skinny no sense of humor no personality really not all there a bit too ditzy can't carry on a conversation b*tchy, mean, thinks their funny when their not.. |

I often find that I'm first attracted by personality, habits and talents and then grow to find little things about that person gorgeous. Turn ons- Tallish and slender built Mildly feminine Artistic and insightful Cherishing or notcing things about me. Dark, feather light hair. Bright, unnatural hair dyes streaked through is a plus to me. Delicate facial features (cute lips and nose make me want to kiss them) Single ear piercing. (no excessive piercings) A nice smile or laugh. Turns offs- Thickly built muscular guys. Loud, abrasive or rude Those with good grades and school smarts who are egotistic and think themselves brillinat Egotism in general Guys with no drive Guys without unique or insightful thoughts who focus solely on their own problems. Put others down I'm busty myself, it seems people mostly want the super-thin. Even when I was underweight I was busty, so I don't think having excess fat had anything to do with it. Curves are out I guess, ah well. |

You're lucky if you can find someone with both. I'm in a long-distance relationship (it sucks, but we make it work), and she has more looks than personality. But if you can find someone that you love, and I mean actually love, not just have a cute little crush on, then make sure they're the right person for you.

Of course, the sensible answer to such a question would be, "Looks don't matter; it's what inside."
Probably because the sensitive guy gets the hot women or something. Unless the sensitive guy is some fat noob; that's probably a liable exception. It would be a tactful answer, even if it may be a lie. Hell, I'd lie about it, too. As for turn-offs: BeeOh. Haha, I'm witty, I sounded it out. |
