...COULD IT BE? ...FOR ME? ...ME?
Okay so recently, I've gotten back into my hobby of autograph collecting. Relatively time consuming hobby..leading to impatience. It takes me to time AT. ALL. to write up a letter and personalize it a little and throw it in a couple envelopes with two index cards and address it to the celebrity I want an autograph from. But, waiting for it to come back is just..wow. It's hell for me. xD Being the age that I am, NO BILLS! Bills come in the mail for my mom, but yeah.
I've recently started getting into the hobby of sending in for free samples. I got a bunch in the mail. I also have a penpal who writes to me from South Africa. The trouble? It takes 2 months for my letter to get there and her letter to get here. >_> Does getting mail make you excited? Have you ever been super surprised when you got something unexpected in the mail? |
|
I want to get another penpal but, one in Poland. With my being Polish...it would be awesome.
|
I've reached the age where mail means bills. Especially if it comes from my university. For some reason, the school has trouble sorting things out and correctly calculating out money owed (especially if its them owing the money).
I do get two magazine though, PC World and Game Informer. Those I'm always excited to get ^^ |
My mother's friend used to have a penpal when she was in high- school. I don't fancy letters so much, I don't get them anyway, but my sister has friends abroad and she gets stuff time to time.
OT, but I have another time consuming hobby, which is wargaming and wargame terrain modelling. I wonder if there are any Warhammer Fantasy Battles players around here. |
Most of my mail is bills, so I tend to think "Ugh" when anyone says I have mail.
I did get a really nice mail from a friend of mine, she filled the card with all these sparkly stars. ...that fell all over the carpet when I opened it and took ages to clean up >.< But then all the card was about was her whining about her life >.< I understand she needed someone to vent to, but I hadn't heard from her for 2 years, so I figured she could have come up with something that was slightly cheerful instead of all being doom and gloom. I haven't bothered writing back, as I think I'd rather have a bill than a card of misery  |
Hahah. Honestly, I really enjoy getting mail. I signed up for a couple of magazines..hope the come!
I decided to return the favor and send 2 of my best friends some mail because for one, one of them is..pretty much neglected and doesn't get any mail, and then the other one is busy so I figured I'd cheer her up. xD |
I love getting stuff in the mail xD I always get excited when it's around the time I should be getting my most recent issue of Nintendo Power, or if I ordered something recently and know it should be coming in soon. And it is always nice to get the odd mail from a family member who lives far away. <3
Hmm... the only real pen pals I've ever had were in school. xD I suppose I have written letters to my online friends in Ontario and Tennessee, though! That was fun. And we send each other Christmas presents and stuff. xD <3 |
ALL of my mail is bills.
It's actually quite depressing. Like SUPER depressing. |
I love getting letters with my name in the addressee part. x3
But by the time I check who it's from, and it states the School district office I get pretty bummed out. xD |
Honestly, no. All I ever get is recruitment letters from the military and stupid college letters for colleges Ive never heard of and dont plan to attend. D:
I did get a piece of mail addressed to a "Mr. Gabrielle Davis" though. o_O; |
Lolz.
I don't get mail often. But when I do, i'm super happy. Because it's usually my premium bond winnings or stuff from amazon. <3 Money & Items = Happy me. |
All the mail I get is military reruitment pamphlets ( nearly every day >.< ) or pamphlets for computer technology colleges I'll never get into. Winning a programming competition doesn't mean I get good grades, dagnabbit. Hehe, dagnabbit. *writes that word down*
Oh yeah, apparently I get credit card application forms, but my parents toss 'em. And I got a random condom in the mail once 0.0 ( luckily I was the one to get the mail tht day! =x ) |
Wow. I never get mail. ._.;;; I would love to have a penpal from China to practice Chinese with, though. Even so, I have a feeling that I won't be able to write back as often...
|
I'd be more excited if I could actually get some mail.
It'd be fun to send and recive snail mail. There's something more personal about it than e-mail. It can be as customized as you can make it. Is your penpal fun talking to? I want a penpal. TT__TT </3 |
Wooow, it seems like a lot of people are getting recruitment letters and stuff xD; Is that because of the war going on, or...? Just out of curiosity; I've never gotten one before. Not sure if it's because I live in Canada, or if it's because of something else. Not to say that we don't have a military, but... man, I don't even know where I'm going with this anymore. xD
In any case, I think it would be fun to have a regular pen-pal. It feels like that's not as common these days, with the internet/email and all xD; |
Last poster on first page: penpals are AWESOME. They're fun to talk to, especially when you have one with the same name as you and their birthday is the day after yours. 8)
|
I hardly ever get mail. I used to have a penpal in elementary school, but that ended a long time ago. xD The only mail I get is birthday cards. |
[b]I love getting mail. :]
It's usually this routine: -runs outside and gets letter- -squeals- -runs upstairs- Mom: Hey, slow down! >.> Don't break the stairs. Me: I got a letter I got a letter I got a letter letter letter~~~ -shuts door- -plops on bed- -squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee- -reads- :3 |
I love getting mail - I rarely even get bills in the mail anymore because almost all of them I get through email now . . . woohoo e-bills.
I order stuff online a lot - and even though I paid for it and I know it's coming I still get all giddy when I get home from work to find a package on my porch. I get 2 journals - one from the ALA and one from PLA - but I don't get super excited about those because they also email me a 'copy' of the journal before it comes in the mail. I write back and forth with my Grammy - been writing letters to her since she moved to Florida almost 20 years ago - we don't write nearly as often as we used to . . . I should buy stamps and send her a letter. |
Oh that's nice. My grandparents are a seventh of a mile away from my house. xD
|
I find the mail to be more annoying than anything. Although I do sign up for a bunch of free stuff on the interweb, and then have it mailed to my house. I've gotten a lot of cool stuff that way, and tons of coupons. That's pretty sweet. Letters though annoy me, just e-mail me its faster and easier, and I normally throw out my mail without looking at it. Horrible I know.
|
I love getting mail. ^^ A lot of times they're from friends overseas, so I really treasure every letter that I get. I also write a lot too. One thing I don't like though is junk mail. >.< Ads get on my nerves. |
I love getting mail with the exception of bills. Sadly, that’s all I get in the mail. I want to get a pen pal or something like that because I think it would be fun. I used to write my friend that moved away years ago, but she stopped writing back sadly.
|
Hmm... I don't get mails like that, I don't have pen-palls D=
I do have a good friend I met on Ragnarok Online like almost 2 years ago, he's from Florida and I'm from the Netherlands. He quit Ragnarok like a year ago, so we still email now and then when we have time ^^ I have never send a letter outside the Netherlands XD |
