Who bit your head off, and why? O_o
|
Just basically said she's doing a good job, and that I just liked to complain and I just need to basically suck it up and do the training. I was like really now?
Then she went to MY boss, told her, and within 10 mins I get this hey I heard you're being negative. It needs to stop. Be quiet, do your work, and leave it be. It's not word for word, but in a nutshell. Then told that if I had any issues to contact the Senior Manager and they would contact the Trainer's boss. Now that we've actually gotten into training, and she's not running around trying to help 20 people individually get signed in cause they're stupid...it's working out. She is still reiterating some really stupid stuff though. Like how to make bookmarks...and then spends like 15mins describing it. >_< |
Is it this week only for training, or is it two weeks' worth of training? Hang in there!
Cole has a job application here to fill out and send in--at the agency I intern. I'm hoping we hear something back in the next 2-3 weeks. I can't help but notice he's not yet filled it out, when I mentioned I'd take it in with me tomorrow. I'll ask him again and see. We're hoping he gets something in two weeks, as this is his first week off. |
I am interested in the gold clover hairpin. The highest recorded MP sale value for it is 100k. Is this about what you'd be asking for for it?
|
It's unlikely, as the sale data is low for the rarer items. I'd have to think about it as it's just the one and they aren't often sold. :)

Errr training is a total of 7 weeks. The first 4 are in training, then we spend a week on the phones (I guess doing basic tier 1 support?) and then aftr that we go back into the classroom and do one more week of study, then once again are in our training groups but taking another week's worth of calls before we're technically in production. I will be honest and say that this job seems to be a steep learning curve. I did prepaid cellphone customer support/RMA desk before and I know that took a little bit of time to get get comfortable...this is dealing with business accounts and there are many different setups, and it's a very complex set up for customer support. I think I will be just fine, but the next couple of months are going to be very stressful.
|
Oh... :/ Well crap.
|
*laughs* I know...sucks, doesn't it?
|
It's money, right?
Cole's working on his application at the place I intern. Hopefully he gets it done by Monday. I go in next on Tuesday. I am more than excited to have tomorrow through Monday off. Gonna do a lot of cooking tomorrow and this weekend! |
Both Aaron and I have the three day weekend off, since I'm in training...as they never train on a holiday or weekend (lucky them...). Aaron got offered a position last night. He's going to be doing inventory work. Basically he has to scrutinize orders and make sure they add up and also keep tabs on stocked items. It's mainly 6 hours at a desk, and then 2 hours wandering the floor taking measurements and chasing up lost items on the floor. He's ecstatic. He's still a temp...and has to do his 600+ hours, but now that he's 'hired in', we're hoping that he will immediately granted full time employment and us benefits once he hits that 600 threshold. I think he has to be with the company 3 months before we can get insurance...when he becomes a full fledged worker there.
That's the good news...Now I just need to put my nose to the grindstone and get through this traning....[zzz] |
That good news is nothing to snuff at. YAY!! :D
|
He's still working at the same job his friends got him into...I told you about that right? *can't remember* Basically I can get all the salad dressing, salsa, and caramel/dip I can eat...That's what they make. And they make some RIGHTEOUS Jalapeņo Ranch dip. [drool]
|
That's awesome. xD Extras always rock.
I slept 11 hours last night and feel like an entirely new human being. It was epic! And that included a couple wake-up calls to get Terra to the potty. |
That sounds awesome!!! I'm glad you're able to sneak that type of epic sleep time in. I know it's tough with little kids, but it sounds like things are working super well for you guys. :D
I had a really nice long sleep...over 8 hours. Wish I had more time...and didn't have training today. I swear that in a class of 20 there are 5 smart people that get it, and the rest are just really slow. I'm getting pretty annoyed as it seems like the first hour of class is dedicated to helping people SIGN IN....4 days after training started. It's like REAAAAAALLY now.... Other than that I'm not too worried. It's going to be a steep learning curve, but I've done cellphone customer support before and I can tap into that previous experience, while soaking up the different system this company uses. I'm REALLY hoping I get what I need out of this training class to better prepare me, but at the rate we're going I'm having my doubts...maybe this is why it is 7 weeks worth of training. m(-_-)m |
It could be. It sounds like if you were given a week or two of one-on-one training you'd have it. They probably offer seven weeks so that the slower learning folks are up to speed. It does sound annoying. It's paid though, which helps. Gear up with coffee!
I'm going to make homemade chicken alfredo tonight. Can't wait to start!! /lame |
Ohhh sounds yummy!! Wish you could teleport me a dish!
I don't know what's for dinner here, yet, as Tristan is going to be dropped off at his friend's straight away and they are going to Taekwondo together - his friend gets a patch for bringing a friend. Then after that my friend is taking both boys out to dinner...probably McD's? I don't know what Aaron, Pam and I are doing for dinner...but I'm stuck here until 10pm. I'm tempted to tell them to go do something fun together and just bring me something back. Money is still tight, but it'll be a time for them to do some one on one bonding. Hell, I could just eat a sandwich too...no biggie. ---------- Post added 05-24-2013 at 02:24 PM ---------- And yes...I bet I could ace this in a week or two max, and be taking calls. I'm scared...as we are going to go through a nesting period that is going to be pretty intense. There's basically going to be 1 helper per 10 people, but the neediness of this group has me thinking that trying to get help when I need it is going to be a challenge....I'm probably going to need something to drink/smoke after work those days as I will be seriously frazzled. |
How often will you have drug tests? Or was it a one-time deal? If so, are they scheduled or randomized?
I should be cleaning up the apartment but frankly? I don't wanna. We were meant to have company tonight, and one of my friends fell ill so we're waiting a bit. It's harder for us to get sick now with Terra in daycare. She has a pretty solid immune system, but her nutrition sucks (to me anyway) since she started full time daycare. Lots of carbs is the norm there, whereas she had mostly protein here. Can't be helped... We're aiming to do something Sunday, so we have time to clean. I'm not sure what we're doing tomorrow (tonight I think is relaxation). It's going to rain, rain, rain, and rain some more so doing anything outdoors is out. |
I think it is a one time and then you're done, unless you're caught coming into work really screwed up. I'm probably not going to do anything, but trust me the urge will be there. Right now it feels like a great test of my patience to get through this class. I know it's not possible to do, but I wish what they would do is give us 3 days together in a group giving the trainer time to assess if we are a high needs learner or not and then rearrange us in a way that we can be with a trainer and learning style that best fits our needs. I'm good with doing most self training and getting together long enough to go over the material and ask questions. With the way this trainer works there is a LOT of hand holding going on, and it's really hard for me to pay attention as it goes SO DAMN SLOW and it's going over stupid shit like right now we're learning how to use the help directory on a program...which works like any other help directory on any other program. -_-
Right now we're going to be pretty busy...Tonight I filled you in on. Aaron has to leave for work at 10pm, the same time I'm finishing up training. He'll be home around 8am tomorrow, will jump in bed for some sleep. I'll probably be up by then and I don't know what I'll do with the kids tomorrow. He'll probably roll out of bed around 3-4pm, which will give us enough time to have a late lunch before we go over to a friend's for the evening so Aaron can jam out, and spend time with friends...Then will come back and crash probably around or before midnight. Oh wait...crap, aaron's mom is coming over for a movie. I guess Aaron will just get less sleep tomorrow? I dunno anymore.... Sunday we have to get the kids back to their mom as Pam has to march in band for their crappy 5 minute parade (No really, it will be a bunch of veterans in a fire truck and then the combined highschool/middleschool band marching...that's literally it. Then Monday...FINALLY Monday I will get a full day off with my husband. First time in awhile. No real plans. Probably a lazy day in bed is in the works. On Tuesday he goes from 11pm-7am to working 7am to 3:30pm for a couple of weeks while he gets training... We're holding it together but I am very looking forward to getting into a more solid routine. I'm not going to be working these 2pm-10pms for more than 7 weeks, thank goodness. I think with our setup, an earlier start would work best. We won't be able to sleep in the same bed, but so far we're managing. Gosh I miss getting to sleep in the same bed.... |
After training, are you able to pick your own schedule?
|
I don't know how much I can pick...they're open until midnight my time...they open early in the morning...like 8am my time? When the schedules go out, though, they've been begging for people to work nights...I'm thinking their day hours are covered and I really hope I can still do my 11am-7pms, if not earlier.
---------- Post added 05-24-2013 at 05:30 PM ---------- I'm told they will 'be as close to our production hours from the previous campaign' as possible...we'll see. I will be LIVID if they try to make me work Saturdays. I have ALWAYS worked between Sunday-Thursday. I wouldn't fight for Fridays, but my Saturdays are a must. :> |
I'm not sure what I'll be hoping for job-wise. Another cut has recently hit the state which will affect transportation for the bulk of agency-based clients. We're the poorest county in Maine, and the poorest in the country. It's going to be tight for a lot of folks now. I may do in-home therapy? I don't know.
Our microwave busted tonight. I let the landlord know what happened and his response was to ask me what I put in the microwave. Seriously? Clearly I wrapped a spoon in tinfoil and set it going! Ugh. I hope it actually gets fixed. We're going on two months without screens. The blackflies are so thick here that we can't open windows, and summer is coming quickly. |
Wow really? Sounds like your landlord thinks you're a moron? Or maybe he's the moron? That's the nice thing about where we live is we just get up and fix it ourselves, so it means that our monthly rent is cheaper...We're still paying off the house. May 2015, though, if we catch up with our missed payments these next couple of months. I so can't wait.
Aaron pays his last payment on the truck in December, too, but I have a feeling we will be needing to trade in his vehicle soon...it's been good to us but it's either going to need a lot of work, or to be traded in.... I ate too much tonight. We got a hot and ready pizza and it was yummy...but now I feel like I'm about to pop...>_> |
The apartment was trashed (and I do mean trashed) by the previous tenants. The microwave had been stained from cigarette smoke and cracked on the corners. It's one of those that are on top of the stove. They can't expect already roughed up items to stay working. I do hope they fix it soon, or replace it if it can't be.
Mm, pizza sounds good. <333 |
It was, but I ate too much and feel a bit ill...and still listening to my trainer sit and drone on. Tempted to put my head down on the desk and take a nap. This training has been excruciatingly boring...
|
Hang in there... :( A couple more hours, right? I forget if you're in EST time zone.
