It's not too bad taking care of the house chores, as long as you're also keeping active elsewhere. But I think with having a small child you'd have plenty to look after. :P

steelmagghia 01-06-2010 11:36 PM

Yeah, grad school is definitely something I think would be good for you, Chi. Luckily, they tend to be good at working around things like pregnancies, since most people are wanting to start families before they're in their forties.

Chi 01-06-2010 11:40 PM

I feel like I am ungodly, inherently selfish.

I don't want to give up the infant stage, nor breastfeeding. I'm completely fine with the idea of Kin being a full-time stay at home dad once the breastfeeding stage is over with.

I'll do whatever I have to do in the end regardless, but I worry about how selfishly gypped I'd feel. :/

steelmagghia 01-06-2010 11:44 PM

*huggles*
Poor thing.
My best friend's parents did the switch thing. Her mom (a doctor) stayed home and raised her in the infant and toddler stages. Her dad (a professor), worked during school hours only during her schooling years so he was the "stay at home dad".
It ended up working out fairly well.

Chi 01-06-2010 11:47 PM

That's what we hope to do with the graduate school thing, but work is always up in the air for him.

steelmagghia 01-06-2010 11:50 PM

Yeesh. :/ You know, technically, if you have 12 hours of graduate classes in a concentrated area, you're able to teach a college course (at least by Texas law anyway). That may be a possibility.

Chi 01-06-2010 11:54 PM

I can barely tell a story without going off on 50 tangents. I would make a terrible professor. I have no interest in teaching unfortunately. I want my Master's so I can counsel. That's pretty much it. >>b

We have a general game plan, but it depends on whether or not he has evenings off. Worst case, a friend comes to sit for 2 hours, twice a week. At most I have to go to class 2 times a week, period. So the immediate future should be fine.

You know, provided money's OK.

steelmagghia 01-06-2010 11:59 PM

Indeed. I was more thinking about Kin. If he could get in some grad school before the baby, then he might be able to get a job with better hours. But it's just a random thought. I know you guys will figure everything out just fine. :)

Saisei 01-07-2010 12:01 AM

I'm not even a graduate. :p

steelmagghia 01-07-2010 12:03 AM

Well fine then, mister. :P Just make my plan sound dumb. Haha.

Chi 01-07-2010 12:03 AM

Yeah... that's why I responded the way I did. :XD I was confused.

steelmagghia 01-07-2010 12:19 AM

It's okay, I'm confused most of the time. :P

Rusalka 01-07-2010 12:21 AM

Wow Steel! Beautiful Avi!

steelmagghia 01-07-2010 12:22 AM

*blushes* Aww, thanks, Rusalka! I've been obsessed with making the dang pumpkin skirt work since i got it in the Halloween event.

Rusalka 01-07-2010 12:23 AM

Well, it certaintly works with that outfit! :D

steelmagghia 01-07-2010 12:24 AM

*huggles* Thanks so much, Rusa. You're too sweet.
So how are you, my dear?

Rusalka 01-07-2010 12:25 AM

I'm doing good. Bored out of my mind to be tired.. but good.
How are you?

Chi 01-07-2010 12:27 AM

*rolls around the thread*

Almost bedtime for the little one. D: Then I guess it's time to do the dishes and think about dinner. I only realized now that I haven't eaten. Tummy's being finicky.

steelmagghia 01-07-2010 12:31 AM

@Rusa: Tired, totally unproductive, but still decent. :) Slept in until two this afternoon and it's messed with my whole day.

@Chi: Oh, the joys of pregnancy. :/ Let's just hope you aren't one of those poor women who ends up with terrible morning sickness the entire way through the pregnancy.

Chi 01-07-2010 12:33 AM

Oh, after witnessing my sister throwing up about 5-6 times a day with my nephew, I'm blessed so far. I just have scent-induced nausea, but no throwing up yet.

If it stays like this, I am a lucky duck. XD

steelmagghia 01-07-2010 12:37 AM

Yeah, one of my aunts spent half of her days at her job lying on the bathroom floor, vomiting, and subsisting on crackers. She has three kiddos, too. Yeesh.

Saisei 01-07-2010 12:38 AM

I think I'm just going to put a thing of febreeze in her pocket so that she can just nuke anything that smells bad. :)

Rusalka 01-07-2010 12:39 AM

Steel; Ah.. I had to get up for class.. only for me not to go because I was feeling nauseated.. I fear I might be catching my mom's flu or something... but also couldn't leave for a bit. So... -shrug- should have used the day to be studying but I had no will to do anything but laze about.

Chi; I would call that lucky, hopefully it stays that way for you as well. Hope you manage to eat something though!

steelmagghia 01-07-2010 12:45 AM

Or perhaps, Kin, a Febreeze dryer sheet. So she can hold it in front of her nose when doing smelly tasks.

@Rusa: Apparently it was just a lazy day for most of us.

Bartuc 01-07-2010 12:48 AM

Totally quoting this and going all high school cheerleader on this..
