Yeah, looks to be so.

Mm.. I hate the initial smell of febreeze myself. xD

steelmagghia 01-07-2010 12:54 AM

I love Febreeze. And anything "linen" scented.

Chi 01-07-2010 12:59 AM

Febreze. I love it.

I had some decaf tea and a blueberry muffin. I tried these new allergen-free products, and so far so good!!

steelmagghia 01-07-2010 01:01 AM

Exciting! Ooh. That sounds really good, actually. I'll be back. I'm going to make me some tea.

Chi 01-07-2010 01:07 AM

What the hell?? I missed Bartuc's post?! ;__________;

I am an idiot! Or blind!! Thank you Bartuc!

Izumi 01-07-2010 03:18 AM

Sorry for abandoning you guys earlier...Got a msg on facebook from one of hubby's friends who wanted to rock out on rockband. I think we're heading out here shortly though. Been over for a couple hours now, and I know hubby wants to get settled in for bed soon. :O

Chi 01-07-2010 11:39 AM

I hope you had fun! XD

So, the room my nephew sleeps in doesn't have cable, but it has a TV and DVD player. I grew up where I could watch TV at night, fall asleep to it, whatever. It's something I occasionally miss having in my bedroom now. Not enough that I want one in there, but I always liked to fall asleep to background noise.

My nephew's grown up with it, too.

As it's only a DVD player in there, I put a sleep timer on the TV when he settles in for bed, and I set the remotes on top of the bookshelf. Last night I heard him giggling at 10:30, and sure enough, he'd turned the TV and DVD player back on after it had turned off.

Now, he comes from a household where he gets yelled at, a lot. I open the door and he has this look of "O_O". I simply say, "If you do it again, you won't be allowed to have the TV on at night again."

He said, "Okay.." and then I turned everything off and went to bed.

It's 6:30, and he woke up when I woke him up. I said screw it to the 6am thing since he was up so late. I really hope he doesn't do it again. I'm more hoping the "don't yell, give choices instead" route MIGHT work better.

If he chooses wrongly, so be it. He'll get punished, but blah.

I'd like to put a hold on Ninja's Arsenal. I'll give you 11k for it.

Izumi 01-07-2010 05:24 PM

I think the most important thing, Chi, is to make sure you back up your word. I know too many moms who will threaten and never carry out. But trust me, he will probably screw up again but after you show you follow up he will definitely think twice before doing it again. I've had to ground my stepson for carelessness and he has been very sure to make sure he doesn't do it again! (His vice is the videogames...)

Chi 01-07-2010 08:21 PM

@Izumi
Oh, he usually doesn't cross me due to me being the only one to administer punishment during ages 0-3. Something stuck even if he might not remember. We'll follow through. I think he'll be okay, but Cole thinks he'll do it again.

Really, in the grand scheme of it all, I bet he will. He's a kid. I did it to Mom ALL the time. I remember it clearly. *cough*

@Kirin
I'm looking for more, as someone had mentioned they sold their last for 16k or so. ^_^ Thanks for the offer though!

Izumi 01-07-2010 08:24 PM

*grumbles* Finally cracked open the bills file and started to do a little planning and I'm feeling slightly overwhelmed. We'll figure it out somehow, but doing bills never really brings joy.

I'm also trying to work out my school schedule so I can coordinate between MIL and Aaron transportation. I've GOT to pass that damned test once the snow is gone. I just might have to ask around for a tester who isn't a complete asshole.

Chi 01-07-2010 08:25 PM

Definitely. You gotta go somewhere that doesn't stress you out based on their attitude. Getting through the test is nerve-wracking enough!

Izumi 01-07-2010 08:27 PM

Tell me about it. I hate driving as it is. -_- I CAN do it though, and I HAVE had a license, so it makes it all the frustrating as I KNOW I'm not incompetent. I just...HATE driving.

Chi 01-07-2010 08:29 PM

I do, too. I hate it so much. >>,, If my area had public transportation I'd probably just live on that. Alas, it doesn't, and I have to drive to get where I need to go. Bleh.

Izumi 01-07-2010 10:30 PM

Back from running around again. :P

Aaron is at work for the next couple of days, so I'm on my own. It's going to feel weird not having him in the background. He's got another 3 weeks coming up in Feb though. One hand I'll miss him being around all the time, the other it'll be nice to get back to 'normal'...if it ever happens.

Edit: Oh man am I'm a little peeved here. Found out that 10 year old step daughter had to have a root canal, and then the stupid bitch turns around and tells Aaron the kids are not allowed soda and we have to check that they brush their teeth. For a start, we don't keep hardly any soda in the house as we're limiting our consumption. The second, is they LIVE at her house the majority of the time and it's her fault they're not kept on routine. I've been trying to keep after them myself, too. Thanks.

steelmagghia 01-07-2010 11:05 PM

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't been on yet today! I managed to unpack a little, get up at a decent hour, and buy some tracks from iTunes to make a dance CD. I'm in desperate need of good dancing music.

Izumi 01-07-2010 11:07 PM

I haven't been on a whole lot today either...which is a shame as I really want to come up with 1.5k by Sunday. I've got work for 5 hours Saturday. Hopefully it's pretty slow so I'll sit and chat. :P

Right now I'm trying to organize a calendar in Microsoft Works so I can write down dates and coordinate rides for school. *sighs*

steelmagghia 01-07-2010 11:08 PM

Fun fun fun. How are things besides that?

Izumi 01-07-2010 11:12 PM

Other than that not too bad I guess. I figured out how to get games to work on my calculator so I've been playing with that. I might clean off the other crap I'll never use, hoping it will give me overall more room to screw around with games on it. (Not that I normally would play with my calculator...)

I've got my books for school, and my supplies. Just waiting for the weekend to finish up. I'm wondering what life will be like during me going to school. I'm hoping that it isn't too chaotic!

steelmagghia 01-07-2010 11:19 PM

Hehe. Gotta love a "gaming" calculator. :D
Yeesh! I swear I've been cold all dang day! What the heck. I officially cannot feel my feet.

Edit: Just so you know, you have been regularly saving my butt in Cafe World on Facebook. Haha.

Izumi 01-07-2010 11:36 PM

Haha! Lemme send you over somemore freebies then! :) I try to send out stuff on a daily basis, but sometimes I forget. I'm constantly churning out chef specials though and those really help too!

steelmagghia 01-07-2010 11:44 PM

You're telling me! I really wish they would open up more tables and ovens sooner, because it was just killing me. Haha.
Oh man...I'm cooking curried lentils (in real life), and it smells awesome. But lentils take sooooo looooong! Gah!
I'm torturing myself, man. I could have made rice, and that would have taken 15 minutes (it cooks faster here than in my parents' house, how weird is that?). But no, I had to go for forty minute lentils.

Izumi 01-07-2010 11:48 PM

Yep I use lentils a lot, too. Something Aaron absolutely loves is my lentil and spinach soup. It's fairly cheap as there's no meat, and you top it with some fat reduced mozzarella and it's yummy.

steelmagghia 01-07-2010 11:49 PM

That sounds incredibly delicious. How do you make it? I'm not used to making soups.

Izumi 01-07-2010 11:51 PM

It's real simple. I'll have to dig out the instructions. You add all the liquid parts and bring it to a boil, then add the lentils and once again bring it to a boil, turn down the heat and cover it for like an hour. Then you wash and throw the spinach in and recover for 15mins and it's done. :)
