Noooooo! *tries to drag Chi back*

steelmagghia 01-29-2010 01:44 AM

Hehehe, thanks man. Yeah, I try for pseudonyms just in case they wouldn't want their business posted all over the internet. :)
It's really hard coming up with a Pakistani pseudonym, though. Seriously!
I've done one load of dishes today. The fact that I have two dishwasher loads full of dishes to be done tells you about how good at housework *I've* been lately. :P

Izumi 01-29-2010 01:48 AM

Well I've been really slacking off lately, as I just don't have the steam to keep up with it. I use to be pretty good about doing everything on a weekly basis, and now it's just if and when it needs it. I like to have things clean for when the kids are here, so if nothing else I can make them aware that we keep up with the house and that anything they leave out will be dealt with. I got sick of little polly pocket shoes on the floor, or barbies in my sink. :XD

steelmagghia 01-29-2010 01:50 AM

Hahaha. Man. I remember when Polly Pocket was *actually* pocket sized. I think mom ended up vacuuming up more than one.

Izumi 01-29-2010 01:57 AM

Sounds like me...Legos, polly shoes, anything around that size and in my carpet is fair game. :XD

Yah I use to have an actual polly pocket that was a school theme. That is when they were really cool. Now, with the little rubbery clothing, they're kinda lame. :XD

steelmagghia 01-29-2010 02:00 AM

They're hardcore lame now, man. Seriously!
Haha. I also had a HUGE Barbie collection and My Little Ponies. Oh yeah, I was waaaayyyy girly.
My sister had babies. Technically they were dolls, but she had a *real* carseat for them. She knew all of their first and middle names. And she had a *cow* if you mistreated them. Hehe.
She's always wanted to be a mom.

Izumi 01-29-2010 02:04 AM

You know I never went through that 'baby' phase. I had a knock off 'Baby Uh-Oh', and I didn't really care for it a lot. I had a very small box of barbies, which I only played with them for a little bit while I had girlfriends in brownies who would come over to play. Then after that phase I started to get into Ninja Turtles hardcore. I had a duffle bag full of them. Oh and legos. The mid-evil kind. I had a huge plastic bin full of them. We'd have lego wars, except I'd never win no matter how hard I tried. Boys are such horrid losers!

steelmagghia 01-29-2010 02:11 AM

Oh we had a box of legos bigger than us, and my sister was very fond of her "ninjan" turtles (which was the cutest dang thing you've ever heard a kid say). But she loooved her babies.
I never liked baby dolls. I loved Barbies because I *loved* to play dress up. :)

Izumi 01-29-2010 02:14 AM

I'm surprised you aren't wanting to be a fashion designer then. I had a friend in high school who that was her dream, and I think she went on to get a degree in it. She lives in the San Francisco area and I'm sure she's having quite the time there.

God you know I am not close with anyone from highschool. I have a handful of people on facebook, but I don't really talk to them often. So much happens afterward that sometimes life seems a bit of a blur once you get settled.

I'm loving College though. Like everything. I love the whole College atmosphere too. I wish I could be a student forever. (And never age...muhaha)

steelmagghia 01-29-2010 02:17 AM

I've known my best friend since third grade. And the rest of my little group of close friends I met either in Jr. High or High School.

Yeah, I really never wanted to *design* the clothes, just wear them. I make up for it now by wearing cute scrubs. Haha.

Izumi 01-29-2010 02:21 AM

That's one of the reasons I wanted to be in med school! They get such cute designs and they look so comfy!

steelmagghia 01-29-2010 02:22 AM

Hehe, they *are* comfy. And they dry super fast. So if you get wet (or peed on or god knows what else), it dries very fast and you aren't uncomfy all day.

Izumi 01-29-2010 02:23 AM

That and when you work in a Dr's office you get all kinds of freebies. They get some *awesome* pens. My cousin, who is an Rn, got this pen in the shape of a bone and I thought it was so cute. ^_^

And of course I just want to have the feeling of helping someone. I think I'd make a better teacher though. They don't get cool freebies, nor do they get paid enough but I'll have the satisfaction of helping someone and I can work with kids. <3

steelmagghia 01-29-2010 02:28 AM

Eh, that's okay. Vets get paid jack squat for how much their education costs. Same education expenses as doctors, but half the pay.
But we *do* get all sorts of awesome freebies in vet school.

Izumi 01-29-2010 02:32 AM

Ohh like what? <3

You get to work with animals, which I would absolutely love to do (given I had the patience for all the math and science courses -- I love animals, especially kitties.)!

steelmagghia 01-29-2010 02:35 AM

Let's see we got backpacks from Hill's, all sorts of interesting books and literature (from dog breeding to radiology), super cheap awesomely high quality dog, cat, or exotic pet food, pens, chip/dog food clips, magnets, calendars, free Heartgard and Frontline....looooads of stuff.

Izumi 01-29-2010 02:39 AM

Man you'd be a valuable friend to have, indeed. Just wish we lived closer. My little Mog needs his shots and it's been something I've been putting off because of financial reasons and the fact he is an indoor kitty. I would be balling my eyes out though if he ended up getting out and getting feline aids - I love that cat *so* much he's like a child to me. (Well I had him since day 1, and I got to see him as a newly born kitten...you form a bond when you go through that, you know?)

steelmagghia 01-29-2010 02:47 AM

Yeah, at least he *is* an indoor cat, so that helps a lot. And FIV is most commonly contracted through cat fights. So if he isn't a fighter, that helps, too. And cats with FIV can live a normal life, as long as they aren't around other cats.

Izumi 01-29-2010 02:49 AM

I know but I heard it's sad to watch them go when they have that...plus I'm hoping he lives a long happy life.

I don't think there's anything he needs on a regular basis, as long as he's kept indoors. Just a decent cat food. We use to get Iams, when we had money, but now they get one of the nicer store brands. A purina one if I remember right. I know what the bag looks like, but unless I go look in the cupboard I don't remember what it's called.

steelmagghia 01-29-2010 02:59 AM

It's pretty much always sad to see a cat go. I've known quite a few FIV infected kitties die at twenty of old age, though. But it is a huge weight. You're always worried that they're going to get sick.
FIV vaccination isn't in the recommended vaccination schedule, though, because kitties who have had the vaccine test positive for FIV. There isn't a way to tell the difference. It's a really controversial vaccine. Our kitty has it, because he's an outdoor cat (and a male to boot, though he is neutered).
Heh, yeah, my dogs eat about a thousand times better than I do. I won't even feed them Science Diet. They get mostly Natura or California Natural products. Occasionally I have to go to PetSmart instead of the feed store that carries premium dog food, and they'll get Blue Buffalo.
<---is absurd.

Izumi 01-29-2010 03:08 AM

LOL. Nah you just care a ton about your pets. I know how that goes. I want my little guy to live a very long happy life. In fact, I don't know what I'll do when he goes. I don't dare think of it. :(

steelmagghia 01-29-2010 03:10 AM

Yeah...mine cease to be pets, really. I have small, fluffy daughters. My children just don't happen to be my same species. Which is going to suck hard core when they start getting up there in age. Especially since they're both the same age.

Izumi 01-29-2010 03:20 AM

Yah. Loosing pets can be just as hard as loosing people. You really bond with them...moreso, as they're usually the ones who are with you even on your ugly days. I know my kitty will always curl up next to me and love on me...my family? Not so much. :XD

steelmagghia 01-29-2010 03:25 AM

Aww. *huggles*
Yeah, I've had to put down my childhood dog. And it was hard. But mostly, because I felt like a terrible owner for letting her get in that condition. I don't know what I'm going to do when it gets to be that time for the girls.
