Just spilled cold coffee all over my tshirt. I'm glad it isn't one I'm wearing to school today.
Yah that's what I'm hoping he'll get from my email telling him we are short on money he'll suddenly find the motivation to just suck it up. I tried to pep talk him and tell him think of something positive....like me or his kitty or his kids...(OK kids are a bad example as usually that stresses him out...thinking about the ex, and child support, etc) I just hate it when he comes up to me to ASK for my permission to do so. It's like I don't AGREE with you doing it and don't think it will HELP you at all...you can't continually run from your problems. Eventually they will catch up and the longer you prolong the inevitable, the more it hurts. |
Yeah, but I can identify. Sometimes you feel like, if you just get away you'll be able to deal with things better or you'll be able to recharge your resolve if you just don't have to deal with it for a minute.
(btw, my avatar is totally more eval) |
Don't let him feel pinned in that one job, either. There are always options, even if they may not financially seem best and look frightening on the surface.
I think Cole's right in that the more you stress when you don't know what's coming, the worse it is. (Easier said than done, I know. I always worry and fret over the maybes and just hope I'm wrong.) You need to give yourself a breather, too. I really hope he can start looking for jobs. Has he checked any online ads? And can the child support be decreased if his pay is decreased? I need to go get ready for class, unfortunately. I'll be home in about 2 1/2 hours but you'll be in class then I assume? |
Well I leave here around noon and I'll probably be home around 4:30 I'm wagering. I might pop in at the library though after the test. I have a feeling I'm going to have several hours to kill. I have that damned novel in English to plow through if all else fails.
|
I don't know if you mentioned it before, but what novel? :)
|
"They poured fire on us from the Sky" - Amazon.com: They Poured Fire on Us From the Sky: The Story of Three Lost Boys from Sudan (9781586483883): Benjamin Ajak, Benson Deng, Alephonsian Deng, Judy Bernstein: Books
It's a really depressing book. I was able to stomach it until a small girl gets raped by the opposing army and I just lost it then. The scabies, lice, hunger issues, as well as just the harrowing situation wasn't bad enough, the story of the little girl just pushed me past my limit. I'm going to try to continue though...for the sake of this class. |
That seems more like a book for a sociology or anthropology class, not an English class...
|
Yah you would think. I'm alright for it though...I don't think there's any sort of test or assignment BASED on it, and even so I usually enjoy stuff like this. Well reading about people who have gone through things unthinkable and come out on top. I think just the whole chapter on that girl was so heartbreaking though that it really disturbed me.
This is coming off someone who LOVES watching Taboo on National Geographic. Ohh speaking of which, tonight is about Nudity. Definitely watching. It's on 10pm EST I think. Great show. I HIGHLY recommend it. Taboo | National Geographic Channel |
The hard part will be finding NatGeo on the cable box. :)
---------- Unrelatedly, I finally beat Attack of the Fangirls this morning. *flexes* |
Uhm...Who's your provider? I'm sure that's easily solved. :XP
I think if I could tailor my Cable to the channels I actually WATCH. It would have to be National Geographic, CNN, and perhaps Discovery...although I don't enjoy documentaries that don't have any tie to humanities. (IE Geology specials BORE me to tears...) And I'd keep one local channel just so I can see the weather and have the Today show in the background. I rarely give it my FULL attention though unless something beyond intriguing is on. |
We have Time Warner. It'll just be a case of checking tvguide.com to find it. :)
|
*flops back in*
Anyone around? |
Kind of...taking a break from reading.
|
I've decided that unless the weather is crappy and it seems class will go on in spite of it, I'm coming home on my Wednesday breaks. Being stuck on campus from 10am to 5:30pm is undesirable. :XD
If I had homework to do, great. But I don't, so... >>;; I am home, snuggled in my chair, waiting for Cole to come home from work. They had to go unload the shellfish from the floats today in case it floods due to the incoming rainstorm. |
Yah that is an ungodly amount of time to waste. :XP
I'm nearly through with my reading but I'm wondering how much I've actually retained. *sighs* ---------- OK Break is done. Going in for the last hour of reading before I leave for school. :> |
Okie dokie. See you later! Hope the reading isn't too crappy. Dx
|
Kind of. I don't like the way she's emphasizing the mechanics of sight and sound and not more the psychological aspects. This isn't a damned phys class...!!
---------- Not to mention we've covered the beginning of life up until adolescence and then skipped everything following it. The chapter goes all the way through to old age. I would of much rather read that then this crap about how the eye works. (Once again, don't give a shit about the mechanics...) |
What class is it you're reading for? Oo; I thought you were reading a novel for English? (The one you don't like.)
|
Nope that's AFTER my Psych test this afternoon. We're discussing the horrid novel tomorrow, after handing in our final essays.
Right now I'm cramming for my Psych test. Chapters on overview of nature vs nurture, stages of growth up until adolescence, and perception (just sight and sound - skipping all the other senses) |
Ah, gotcha.
|
Hey, I'm questing for a Yumeh Hairpin and was wondering if you happened to have one you'd be interested in selling. :yumeh1:
|
OK. I think I got the first two chapters on the test pretty down pat. I'm a bit worried about the perception chapter. I got the basics, but if she's going to want to know what part of the eye does what I'll have to bluff it. Luckily it's all multiple choice with an essay at the end.
The Essay is pertaining to the first two chapters...in my opinion mainly the first, about how genes and environment make you who you are. Genes react to environmental stimuli, but the environment impacting genes I could write either about evolutionary psych and the whole natural selection (Which I think it's my preferred choice for this) or I guess write about the different stages of cognitive development outlined by Erikson and how the same event occurring at different stages of ones development could have a stronger impact. For example if we do not develop a secure attachment due to environmental circumstance how it will disrupt the further stages and make you more prone to certain characteristics. Your level of basic trust of the world depends on your type of attachment formed in the first two years of your life. Anyways...gotta sprint. Last thoughts were kinda rushed....can be debated later... I think I've got what I need to get a decent grade. Fingers crossed. I'll let you know what the outcome is. :P |
Can I buy the Staff of Healing for 2.6k ?
|
@zig
I was given a bunch for my charity a while ago from Channah. Let me just give you one. :) @Izumi Good luck with your testing! I know you'll do well. @Fashion No thanks. ^_^ |
OMG thank you! I definitely didn't have enough gold for one... I was hoping to find someone willing to trade, or at least hold it until I had enough. Thank you soooo much! :yumeh1:
