Are Roleplayers?
How many of the Members on Menewsha indulge in the little slice of heaven where you are given the chance to become someone else, and just act as that person would? I know I love to Roleplay, and I was just curious as to how many people on here are. Why? Curiosity really. Discuss: Roleplaying as a whole. ~ Not table-top. What you look for in a Roleplay Partner. |
I've really only started role playing since I've came to menewsha, I really enjoy the character development, it's so fun knowing that you can change it any which way you like.
I don't think I would roleplay away from online...or even join a role playing site, that would take the fun out of it. |
Oooh... I love Role Playing. It's like Halloween. I can be a completely different person, put on a mask and step into someone else's shoes for a change. It literally is heaven. I look for... creativity in an RP partner. Someone who is somewhat random, loves to put twists into the plot, can type a decent amount, give me something to work with, and doesn't bore me after two posts D: I also love someone who's friendly, a perv, and just slightly cynical/sarcastic. That's just me xD. It's great. Role Playing allows me to get away from the troubles in my life and just have a care-free day. |
Angel is an avid roleplayer...She has been roleplaying for 7-8 years now, which explains why she talks in third person so much :P Angel looks for a partner who doesn't make her eyes bleed firstly. Yeah, gues who roleplayed on Gaia for ages :P But she also looks for imagination and a good grasp of their characters. Someone who is fun. |
I forgot to say that literate roleplaying is the best, especially when you can see the different atmospheres emitting from the posts. It's so cool. *heads over to role playing now*

Same here, I started before Gaia existed...Man have I been online forever...I started roleplaying in about 97...98...That sort of time...wait! That makes it....9-10 years! Gosh time passes so quickly! |

I really like RPing on paper. It's really fun. I've never rp'd on the internet before. I'm certainly going to start here.

I joined Gaia in 05...06? Mene in September. I joined neopets when it first started and became an advanced literate on there before it became despie/illiterate central...But I can't remember where I started... |
I've never roleplayed before, I've been curious but I don't think I would be able to devout the required time to it that a lot of places seem to want. My online schedule is pretty erratic and there are days that I just can't get online and a lot of times I see that people are supposed to post at least once a day. I also get nervous about interacting with another person's character, I don't want to go overboard or do something that would make the other person want to run away screaming ^^;

Nike, you should roleplay with Angel. Halycon and Aion both accept new players. Halycons official stance is "We're a school after all, we can teach people more than just the elements:P" And Aions official stance is "We're the adoption centres regulars it's our unofficial job to help newbies out, whether they're new to the site or new to roleplaying" |
Could you give me the links Angel? They sound interesting ^^ I especially like anything that is open to new roleplayers. I mean, I write my own stories but still, group writing has always been something I'm wary about.

Sure thing :) Aion a cross between worlds I know it's really long but if you just read the plot then post it's fine we don't expect you to backread. And it's not important. The roleplay is designed for people to come and go as they please. I started it mainly for my mene daughter (newbie) to get the hang of roleplaying and now it's the newbie threads roleplay for all :P We even have Seito in it and she's not really a roleplayer. not of a round robins writer, so if she's allowed to play then you are (She's used to having total control of all characters whereas roleplay is control of only your characters, so it's hard for her but we help her...well will be doing when her characters next meet up with everyone elses :P) Halcyon: Elemental schools Again no need to backread all of the story. Just read the starting threads and jump in. Character profiles for each user are on the starting pages :) Or if you prefer to have total control of all characters instead of just one maybe you should try a game of round robbins, basically it's the same sort of thing, writing a story as a group, but you write like a story then stop then someone else continues where you left off :P |
I love to roleplay. I roleplay with a girlfriend of mine, just to get away from my problems. At least for a little while. It also gives me something to write about, as I want to become a better writer one day. :)

i've only just started wanting to get into roleplay. i wouldn't mind getting lost in another place and being someone else, and meeting other people doing the same.

I role-play a lot and run my own on Gaia. I would on Menewsha as well but my time is already too limited. I always look for people who are good with paragraph role-playing and who can stand yaoi/yuri instances. I also look for quality and grammar.

I can say I honestly wouldn't run an RP on Gaia unless it was for one of the breedables shops I'm n when I'm there. The Roleplaying forum just makes my head hurt.
I do love to RP though, I've been doing it since long before I was on Gaia. |
I love rolepalying but I haven't done it in a long while.
I like to do on one x one. I like partners taht ca be a bit pervet but romantics at the same time :'D I dunno why but I'm like that. Oh and the rolepaly has to be funny as well. I don't want anything boring and too lame on it ( who wants it Dx) |
I love Roleplaying. IM, Forum, Table-top. It's all good and fun. Though I've never had any experience with LARPing. I don't think I'd like it very much, seeing as I'm rather shy. But I would enjoy watching, perhaps video taping sessions of it.
Anyway. That's part of the reason I join so many forums, to find new roleplays and people to roleplay with. There isn't any specific genre, or fandom that I enjoy roleplaying over others. Not fully anyway. Sometimes there is an idea that gets stuck in my head, and I absolutely have to find a place to play it out. I've got one of those right now, but I'm not sure I'd be able to find an RP on Menewsha that would fit with it. |

i think it's the dumbest thing ever if i want to play a fighting character i would get a game if i want to be a mistical furry chick i would go to neopets if i wanna cyber (oh god no) i would go to imvu and if i want to be 'oh 1'm li3k t3h gr3at3st warri0r 3vah' i would go to flyff <3 |

I'm a roleplayer. I started roleplaying on Gaia and I continued doing it here. I'm actually in the middle of a multi-person rp right now and I'm doing a 1-on-1 rp on Gaia.

I started RPing tabletop games back around 2000, and it evolved from there over time. I played a lot of DnD with friends, but I found Breedable/Changing Pets on Gaia, and was hooked.
At this point, I have around 10 Gaia characters, but I only actively RP about 5 of them, as some of the shops are either VERY slow-moving or dead. I did a lot of RPing when I got out of college, as I had a job that didn't allow me any kind of creative output. RPing on Gaia was my outlet. But sadly, now that I'm on Mene so much, I don't have as much time to RP as I'd like. I have a B&C shop here where I have a character, as well as a couple of other shops, but alas! I'm too busy lurking the forums, making sure everyone's being good, to RP. :( My muse flew away a couple of months ago, and it has yet to return. :? I wish I could catch it and make it come back to me...because I owe people replies! *sweatdrop* |
