Coffin or urn?

http://www.pushindaisies.com/candypr...fin_box_lg.jpg
Personally, after my organs have been donated, I'd like to be cremated. I'm not sure how much it costs to be cremated, but I'd rather my family not waste money on a fancy box for my dead corpse. Instead of keeping my ashes in an urn, I'd like to have them spread over a bed of flowers. :3
A fish coffin would be kind of cool, though.
But that's just me.

What about you?
Coffin or urn?
Would a lot of people attend your funeral?
Where would you like it to be?
Would you get a fantasy coffin?
Do you like mint?
Am I morbid/creepy? D:
etc.

Ebil 11-10-2007 07:28 PM

No coffin and no urn please.
I want to be burnt and my ashes scattered.
If anyone buries me or tries to stick me in an urn, I'm going to come back and haunt them >:
I don't really care where my ashes are scattered, I'd prefer it wasn't in a sewage farm or something icky though o_o
I want a party, not a funeral. Celebrate the life, not mourn the death. Mourning seems so selfish. "Wah wah wah I miss you" No. My funeral = My day. Not someone elses day to think about themselves and how their life is different. Mine!
Nobody wearing black either, or they'll be kicked out.
...unless they look very very good in black, then they can stay <3

I do currently have a dilema about organ donation. I like the idea of helping others, but I also strongly believe in leaving the world the way I came into it, with all my bits and pieces intact. I'm slightly paranoid that if I have bits of me donated, then when I'm reincarnated, I may be missing those bits

daashi 11-10-2007 07:30 PM

My organs are going to be donated and then whatever may be left donated to science.

Therefore my family won't have to pay for uber expensive corpse disposal. And I don't have to decide on what I want.

And I don't want a funeral, I want to know how long it will take people to realise I'm dead.

Hey, that's a good idea! What would you have at your party, though?
My cousin wore a black tube top for my grandpa's funeral. e_e

Hmmm, that is a scary thought. I doubt you'll miss any organs if you're reincarnated though..

Sagitar 11-10-2007 07:36 PM

Coffin or urn?
-I think either way is fine.. whatever they decide. it doesn't really matter to me, I'm DEAD.
Would a lot of people attend your funeral?
-I don't know.. >.<
Where would you like it to be?
-I have no idea. I might not belong to church anymore by then so.. I don't know.
Would you get a fantasy coffin?
-nah, just some cheap box
Do you like mint?
-I guess it's okay
Am I morbid/creepy? D:
-nah

DelilahHeart 11-10-2007 07:39 PM

What about you?
I adore this question. I would have to say that I would adore to be cremated after, of course, my organs have been donated. I think that far too much land is being used to create cemeteries. In Europe you actually rent a spot for a while and then they remove it and cremate the body. So that's why I want to be cremated. Then I would like my ashes to be spread into the sea.

Coffin or urn?
Oh I think i answered that question already. Opps...

Would a lot of people attend your funeral?
To be honest, I have no idea. I could be morbid and say that I don't think anyone would come but in reality I think i affect a lot more people during the day than i realize.

Where would you like it to be?
Actually I paused to think about it.

Would you get a fantasy coffin?
Heck yes and then when people go to find my dead boy they find some important belongings of mine.

Do you like mint?
Does that really fit here?

Finally I have to say, no you're not morbid. I think about this kind of thing far more than I should.

Eileanora 11-10-2007 07:43 PM

Coffin or urn?honestly, most likely an urn, since the prices of a coffin are insane. but i'm not sure on where i would want my ashes spread, or even i would want it period.
Would a lot of people attend your funeral?as of right now, no, i don't think so. depends on whether or not i've met more people later on in life, or if there will be any relatives alive when i die. but since i keep my friends in a tight circle, and i only get along with a few relatives, i don't think there will be too many people at my funeral.
Where would you like it to be?most likely a church, not sure where since it depends on where i'm living at that point in my life.
Am I morbid/creepy? D: i don't think its morbid to want to ask these kind of questions to peopl e at all. so no, i wouldn't say you were morbid or creepy.

Majinkoz 11-10-2007 07:49 PM

Coffin or urn? - I think I would like to be in a coffin....idk I've always just thought that's kind of 'traditional' and I like it. <3
Would a lot of people attend your funeral? I think some people would, not really a LOT, but the people that matter most to me of course they would attend, and I know many people would miss me a lot.
Where would you like it to be? I'm not sure...probably Michigan, and when my mom/dad dies I think it would be nice to be burried next to them...or my husband.
Would you get a fantasy coffin? I'm not sure...because it is REALLY $$ and no one is reallyl going to see it but I might...it depends.
Do you like mint? Mmmmm yeah I like mint, it's yummy.
Am I morbid/creepy? lol nah, I don't think you're that creepy or morbid...you're good. :)

KaboomPop 11-10-2007 07:50 PM

i Dont want to die yetD:

Takuto 11-10-2007 07:55 PM

I would presonally rather be burnt to ashes. (I am dead, I can't feel the pain!)
I mean my family that I left behind can do alot of things with the money rather than buying a coffin and space to put it underground. Yes, I would love to do it the traditional way but I personally think it is just better burn. (but in general, I do not want to die yet! haha. *wink*)

Clavietika Tres Ojos 11-10-2007 07:56 PM

I never really had a preference until I started attending way too many funerals and I've decided that I want my ashes scattered out in the San Francisco bay like my grandfather did.
Burials are so ridiculously expensive that I just don't want my family to deal with it.
Why San Francisco Bay? Because San Francisco is simply my favorite city. I love to be there and I know I always will. When I was younger I always thought about moving away when I was older but I know that this will not happen. I'll want to keep my heart in S.F. forever.

And like Ebil, no funeral. Please don't cry because I'm dead...dance and laugh because I'm probably doing the same thing somewhere. XD

I thought about donating my body to science because I do want to go into the medical field but I just don't want to do that anymore. I think I will donate my organs though. Some people wait until it's too late for an organ and if any of my organs can potentially save someone's life who wants to live a little longer then go ahead.

Oh, and I forgot. Would anyone attend my funeral?
Dancing, free food and liquor?
I would hope a few people would attend. XD
I'm going to make sure I put that whenever I write a will:
You WILL party on my funeral, bitches.

.~.Secret.love.~. 11-10-2007 08:08 PM

I don't know. I want to be frozen and put in display in my family house. Hahaha...
Seriously. I don't want to be in the ground, and I don't want to be scattered.
I think it would cost a lot to maintain my body cold. If not that I want to be like...platerized or something, to were I'll look young forever. I don't want to die old either.
I want to leave a good looking corpse.

I forgot, people would attend. Not many but enough.
And naw, you're not morbid at all.

clock 11-10-2007 08:27 PM

No coffin. >__> I guess I'd have a funeral, but
it'd only be my ashes in a box / urn. I don't know
how many people would go... My whole family and friends.

And when it's all done, I want to be spread out around
a bunch of trees. :] Or it'd be cool to have my ashes
placed inside a clock that gets passed down for generations. :'D

Am I morbid/creepy? lol nah, I don't think you're that creepy or morbid...you're good. :)

Cremation is also traditional. A Viking-style burial would pretty cool too, but I've never built a boat.

Yeah, that's true. Whoever attends your funeral would see it before it was put into the ground, though.

Awww, thanks. :)

.~.Secret.love.~. : Hahahaha, that's kind of funny. Good idea!
Takuto: you posted twice. :o

Deadly Mango Kitty 11-10-2007 08:32 PM

Oh, I thought you said COFFEE or urn. Wow, I'm out of it. Um, I'd rather have a coffin, so my sisters know I'm gone. If my remains were still in the house they'd get so creeped out and I don't want to make it any more stressful.

.~.Secret.love.~. 11-10-2007 08:36 PM

Mhm.
I want my kids to know I'm always watching them. hahaha!
What better way then to be in the house with them.
It'd be like, in my will that I want to stay with them forever.
LOLOLOL...
No, but yeah.
It'll be fun.

Hahahaha. That would kind of creepy.
And what if your family moved?

Uzura 11-10-2007 09:08 PM

Coffin or urn: I don't really care for either, but if I had to pick one, it'd be the urn for the obvious price reasons. Though, I have nothing against caskets. I remember my grandpa had a really nice one when he passed away. It had little slots in it where you could put little gifts. I put in a jolly rancher because he'd always share his jolly ranchers with me :3

Would a lot of people attend your funeral: Well I would hope so. I come from a pretty big family. Not sure how many of my friends would show up. I'm pretty sure a lot of people would have showed up if I had died in high school, but now I'm in college where not too many people know me.

Where would you like it to be: I guess at my old church I use to go to every weekend. I was baptized there, received first communion there, etc. Might as well have my funeral there too.

Would you get a fantasy coffin: And be left to rot in the ground afterwards? No thank you.

Do you like mint: It's alright >.>

Am I morbid/creepy D: : No, not at all o:

.~.Secret.love.~. 11-10-2007 09:09 PM

If my family moved, they'd have to take me with them.
^-^

Hojico 11-10-2007 10:29 PM

I wouldnt wanna be burried in the ground where worms would crawl in and eat me D: That would make me sad. I dont wanna be in a smelly urn though either. I wanna get fed to something :3 Like wolfs or something <.< But then they might like how people taste and eat more people and get shot, and that would be sad. I guess I would want my ashes to be thrown in the ocean, or river or something, but thats kinda gross to think about...People would be swimming in me...But thats also pretty funny >w> But its mega pointless to pay to rot in an expensive box and shoved in the ground. That would suck, its pointless to have to pay for people to be buried.

What I would really want to happen to my body when I die is to be put in a giant pyramid in Antarctica! A super mega giant crystal one! And the penguins would worship me >w> That would be mega awesome to the max +60. But thats even more pointless and more expensive than getting buried...

fuyumi_saito 11-10-2007 10:47 PM

Coffin or urn?
urn

Would a lot of people attend your funeral?
Not really

Where would you like it to be?
...By a tree perhaps.

Would you get a fantasy coffin?
What's that?

Do you like mint?
if you mean the candy, then yes.

Am I morbid/creepy? D:
Not really..

Fabby 11-10-2007 11:24 PM

I for one am against having my family buy a $6,000 box that they're just going to put into the ground.
Cremate me, please.
But I also don't want my ashes sitting up on top of someone's fireplace... I think that's creepy.
So I want my ashes scattered somewhere. Where? I don't know. But somewhere nifty.

As for my funeral...
I want a rave! Seriously.
I don't want anybody crying and sobbing over my death. My ashes would feel bad. No, no, I want everybody to be happy and laughing and celebrating my life, not sobbing because I'm dead. I basically feel the same way that the OP did. :D

MayuSatomiJuRei 11-10-2007 11:27 PM

My Granma was cremated and we got her ashes planted underneath a cherry tree. I really myself would want to be cremated. I wouldn't like the idea of wiggley worms and maggots crawling through me. I know it's a naturall process. But there is still sussposed to be an electric charge in your brain when you die so what if you could feel it even though you were dead. I know that sounds silly. But death creeps me out lol.. i'm sure it does everyone. :)

Some Random Randomness 11-10-2007 11:29 PM

I use to hate the idea of my remains rotting in the ground after I'm long gone. But I have grown up since then and realized that sometimes your family may want a place where you'll always be and can always be remembered.

But at my funeral, I want the dancers from the music video Helena by My Chemical Romance. That would be hot in my opinion. I think everyone would have a great time if there were some nice dancers.
