She gasped and made the horses stop. "I think we better stay in this town another day." She said, getting off Sephiroth. "Hold on tight!" She said as she got on Cloud and made then gallop back to the hotel.
Vincent struggled slightly and he leaned forward against the horse's neck and wrapped his arms around it in case he fell. Seph was nudging him slightly and watching him now in case he fell. He felt weak for some reason as he lay there motionless. He was thinking abut the dream he had had the night before and was now trying to sit up.
She checked in, again, in the same room they had the day before. Then she took the horses to the stable with Vincent still on Shadowfax. After she secures the horses, and helped him walk to the room and got him to the bed. "It should stop hurting soon, I didn't out that much." She said calmly to him.
Vincent laid down on the bed shutting his eyes. He was more depressed now than he had been before. He rolled over so that his face was in the pillow and he barely moved. His arm twitched occasionally but that was about it.
She sat on the floor next to his bed, not tired at all. "If you want it to hurt less, ice helps." She nearly whispered to him.
Vincent let his hand hang over the bed hoping that she'd grab it impulsively. He turned his head so that he could speak. "Ice doesn't help, I've tried it before. Then you have to consider most of how I'm feeling is from my nightmares."
"Of what?" She asked worriedly "So you can't sleep peacefully?"
Vincent sighed slightly. "It's a long story," he said withdrawing his hand knowing she wouldn't take it. "It hasn't been this bad in a while. It just happens when I start getting close to people."
"Oh." Was all she could say. She knew how it was with nightmares and people she was close to. She new all too well. "I have those...with my brother. It was worse after I killed him. It'll get better eventually. Trust me."
"Trust me," he said gently. "My nightmares never get better. They started happening just after I was changed." He shuddered slightly as he remembered the first nightmare he had.
"umm...okay." She stood up and got a necklace out of her bag. She hummed into it and it started glowing like the silver had. Soon it started humming the tune she'd hummed back to her. She set it on the floor next to his bed. "It helps." She said softly, before going to her own bed.
Vincent sighed slightly knowing that it wouldn't help. His dreams had always bothered him, even when his mother had tried to comfort him. He closed his eyes though thinking about his friends that he had left behind.
She sighed in bed restlessly and rolled over, trying to get more comfortable. After she stopped moving she sung along to the humming necklace, the soft, mellow humming matched her voice exactly. "Close your eyes and sleep, they won't come 'till morning. Now it's time to dream..." She sung the lyrics she had sung before and the chourous of her luluby "Close your eyes and sleep. Now it's time to dream. Dream a dream, dream a dream, dream a dream so happily, dream a dream, dream a dream, dream a dream of free-dome .Dream your dream 'till morning comes of free-dome, free-dome, in your dreams." She was still restless so she rolled off the bed and laid on the ground like a rug for a while, thinking in silence except for the humming of her stone.
Vincent felt restless for a moment but found a comfortable position laying on his stomach. He fell asleep soon after.
She woke up in the morning in her rug-like position. She yawned and rolled over. The humming was still going so she crept over, trying not to wake Vincent is he was still sleeping and snatched it. She held it in her hands and whispered a chant into it which stopped it "With the power of vines and the strength of wind, with the nobleness of water and the merriness of light, with the horrors of darkness and the
heat of fire, with the jolts of electric and the frosty cold ice, I, with the powers of earth, command you to stop your imatation, let the real me do the work." The humming stopped at her last word and she put the beautiful necklace on. She rubbed it as she lay in bed, waiting for him to awake so they could move on. |
Vincent was having another nightmare. It was different in many ways than the most previous dream. He was trapped outside this time and then sun was rising. He could feel a weakness about him and then he felt an extreme pain as he saw the sun. Out of the corner of his eye he could see Risa laughing at him. He woke up sitting bolt right up not really frightened but fully aware of where he was.
She was so frightened by his unexpected awakening that she fell off her bed. When she hit the ground she moaned at the slight pain but then started laughing and sat up. "Are you okay?" She asked him, looking at him worriedly.
Vincent nodded slightly even though he didn't feel okay. He was beginning to get sick of how light hearted this girl was. She laughed at everything. He shook his head slightly and noticed the sun was up. He swore under his breath and then glanced Risa. He looked tense now, as if someone was going to try to kill him at any moment.
She shooke her head back and fourth when he was looking away. She looked outside then to the ground, she wasn't going to try to make him tell her. She was to the point of not even wanting to know anymore. She stood up slowly and grabbed her bag. She walked to the door and opened it a little "I'll get the horses if you check out?" She asked, slightly turning her head back to him.
Vincent stood with reluctance and walked to the door. The sun was out again so he quickly found a cloak that he had brought with just in case this happened. He went to the front desk and checked out and then waited for her to come back.
She brought the horses to the front door and when she saw Vincent waiting she got on Sephiroth. "All set?" She asked tiredly. She was getting a little bored of going from town to town, resting a day, leaving, going to the next town, killing some people, resting a day, and moving on. It seemed like they didn't have a destination, that they were just moving to move.
Vincent got into one of the horses when she came back around. He was quiet and relaxed at the same time. He sighed slightly ready to just move on. "Why don't we get a destination in mind," he said. "Maybe the mountains."
She sighed "Mountains are pretty..." She was a little sad about not having any where to go, but she tried to stay on the bright side. "But I think I have a friend who could get us each a house of our own. And change our identity, too. He lives a few towns over." She pointed in the general direction of her friend's town. "Unless he's dead, I think that's probably our best option." She shrugged "But last time I talked to him he told me he was on the run, again, for stealing some royal gem or something..." She sighed.
"Let's try him then," he said bluntly. He had noticed how she seemed to be cold at times. He shook his head, ignoring the idea that it might not be a good idea for him to be exactly. He didn't mind having his own house because he could catch his prey quite easily on his own. Then there was the fact that he could also easily choose his own sleeping patterns.
She nodded once and looked at Cloud "Cloud, you remember the way to L's house?" ((HUGE fan of death note, L mostly ^^) Cloud neighed and nodded in his own way before trotting into a forest. The other horses followed willingly. "It's a shortcut." She said tonelessly to Vincent, but she didn't look at him, she only looked ahead of them.
