bored games?
last night i was really really bored. the playstation has been played to death and my internet was down. i had nothing to do...and then i found monopoly at the bottom of some old unused cubbord. my family and me played monopoly for hours and had a great time.
my thoughts were when was the last time i had this much fun without using something that requires electricity? i really did have great fun sitting around laughing with my family. i lost the game but i still enjoyed myself so discuss: when was the last time you played something that doesnt need power to run? what is your favorite board game? what is your favorite card game? how long has it been since you even considered playing something that doesnt use power? have fun! |
My friends and I will take board games to IHOP and spend several hours playing and sipping coffee. Our favorite game to play is LotR Trival Pursuit. We have also played Dominos, Apples to Apples, cards, and other board games. My favorite board game would have to be Life (The Pirates of the Carri bean version). When my roommates first bought this we played it all the time and did drinking games with it. I mean it's a Pirates version, you have to have a little rum in there somewhere, right? ^_- My favorite card game would have to be Apples to Apples followed very closely by Egyptian Ratscrew. I also like Crazy 8's and War. I really want to learn how to play Spades and Hearts though. |

im happy to see you play lots of board games. i dont know anyone who plays board games nowdays coz there is xbox and ps2 and psp instead. no one remembers board games sadly |
I have a whole chest full of board and card games. : ) I also keep a deck of cards in my backpack in case I get bored. ^^ I'll take them out and play a game of solitaire or poke someone nearby into playing a game of war with me. xD |
hehe thats really cool! i dont know many card games. only last card and uno and fish and old maid. no one ever taught me card games. but i play chess on my ps2

I know how to play War, Egyptian Ratscrew, Crazy 8's, Go Fish, Old Maid, Squares, BS, and Spoons. Most of those I learned in high school during final weeks and such. I've tried to learn chess a few times, but I'm not good at it. >.<; |
i never win chess but i try hard. no one i knows knows any card games. i would love to learn some tho. i really want to go camping with some friends and see what happens when they have no electronics. but someone will bring a psp. i know it!

My family constaintly plays board and card games.
Scabbled, Tri-Dominos, Crib/Cribbage and Rummykins are all games that we play on a regular basis. |
I try to avoid board games with my family because they're, uh...not too much fun to play with =]

My family and I would play TriBond a lot during the holidays.Its been a while but it was always fun.^^
As for cards, my girlfriends and I used to always keep a deck of cards in our purses. They would get pulled out whenever we were bored and play all different kinds of games. I think our favorite was Crazy 8s. ^^ It definatly came in handy during long lines at conventions. X3<3 |
I love board games, actually, but most of my family doesn't so I don't get to play them much. I think the last time I played one was near the beginning of this year. My favorite board game would probably be Monopoly. I like games that last for a while rather than the 'ten minutes and it's over' games. They just don't entertain you for very long, you know?

I'm actually quite good at chess.
I used to play it all the time with my father. Especially around this time of year. :] The last time I palyed monopoly was the computer game version that my brother won from McDonalds ;/ But it was fun and didn't have to worry about the money XD {I Hate Math D:} I have a lot of OLD board games sitting in my closet's shelves. I don't care much for monopoly, it takes too long. I do sometimes have fun playing board games with my kids, very rarely though, the last one we played was Nick Scene It (requires a t.v. though). I like trivial pursuit but, no one else here does.

Oh I love Monopoly! I hardly ever get to play it though because all my friends and family think it's boring! D: I also remember liking Life, but I haven't played it in years and years.

- Hmm...that's a good question, My boyfriend and I played battleship...strip battleship lol a little bit ago, but I think pretty recently I played cards and a board game with some of my cousins...it's a ton of fun. I love board games. what is your favorite board game? - I Loooove Monopoly and LIFE....but I think my all time favorite would have to be CLUE...it's just fricking awesome! what is your favorite card game? - Something called Spit...it's pretty much the same as Speed only a longer version...and of course I love BS and Egyptian Ratscrew. Umm...and I really like this game called 'cash' it's called a lot of different names, but you have a partner...4 people total, and you put some cards down in stages and when you get 4 of a kind you do a special signal...it's awesome! lol...and of course Poker is always fun. how long has it been since you even considered playing something that doesnt use power? - It's been like...a day lol I don't know, I just read a book yesterday. <3 yay manga. My family loved playing board games. xD We still have a whole closet full of them. I can't rememeber when the last time I played one though... Usually no one's here so I can't play it alone. And I don't like cards much. I liked the games 'Sorry' and 'Trouble' or something. xD |
The last time I played a game that wasn't electronic was probably months ago. I think I was playing hangman at the time. My favorite board game is snakes and ladders and monopoly. I have a lot of favorite card games. But out of them all,I like Uno the best. It has been a while since I've played a game that wasn't electronic, I have no idea why though.

Part of my volunteer work is keeping the special needs residents entertained. And one of them loves Candyland. And I swear Candyland is simpler than it used to be. : /
And Uno needs batteries, but it's pretty close to a board game. And before that, I convinced my friends to play Clue. |
