Attention dog owners. I hate dogs here's why.
I just needed to get this out, bottling is bad. My dear sweet bunny cookie recently rather violenty passed away. I was absolutely devestated, Beyond hysterical and not consolable. I staggered to my garden bench and sat just hugging her to me and wailing at the top of my lungs. Oh god *tears up* I can do this, there's a moral to it! Story goes that the girlfriend of a guy I know and his sister went for a walk with the girlfriends dog, a 'Beagle looking thing' I believe, it had a leash but they weren't holding it..it found its way into my yard, found my bunny cage tryed to rip into one end which had chewed wire but was reinforced by alother layer behind the torn one, no luck there so the @#$%!* went to the other side...*has to pause* ripped that side open and dragged her out. Oh fuck (sorry) this hurts to type...Thankfully my neighbour saw this and rushed over and chased it away, she rescued cookie and put her in our outdoor exercise pen Where she thought Cookie would be safer because of its high walls..at this point she was alive. When I got home dad was acting strange and said to come around the back, I was like why?! You're acting like somethings died, he didn't say anthing so I bolted to the backyard I saw her just..lying there, promptly picked her up and ran to the bench and completely lost it. I imagine people streets away might have heard me... but I finally conceded and let her go so dad could bury her. Thankfully my baby was not hurt (I didn't know the real truth until later so I blamed my neices who had put her in the pen on a warm day) She died of shock, the shock of being ripped out or your home by a mongrel three times the size of her. I'm totally not over it, hence the ruined mascara. Sorry if this depressed anyone, but can I say if you take your dog for a walk please use a damn leash. Discuss: Why you do/dont use a leash. Any animals you hate and why. Pets you have lost (if you want). But before you defend your dog, keep in mind I know some dogs are 'well behaved' (I think most puppies are cute, they're innocent) and it's the species in general I have something against, not your pooch. |
|
*huggles Cherry* I'm so sorry about your Cookie. It's horrible to loose a pet, especially in that way. I've never understood why people don't use leashes or will just let their dogs run a muck in their neighborhoods. My dog would sometimes get out of our backyard and as soon as he did we were running after him. >.< My grandmother's neighbor hood is really bad about that. There are dogs running around without a leash or owner all the time. And it's not like they're strays because I've seen them with their owners before. :/ Several years ago one of the dogs got a hold of a cat. My mom and I didn't realize what was going on at first and then we were too far away to get to the dog in time. It was horrible. People really need to take more responsibility for their pets. |
@Caroline-
Thankyou *hugs* ^__^ That is sad, but cute that it had company in its final moments. I love that animals have instincts like that. My neighbour rescued a budgie from her dogs mouth once, and gave it to us ^^ I seem to have terrible luck with animals in my family. Barely any seem to die of old age.. Cookies predecessor, Elmo, passed away while I was on a school camp for band, of kidney failure took me years to fully get over that. Things like our birds and fish and mice have all had seemingly short lives too... bleh Maybe I should get a tortise xD I want a kitten though ^^ It'd cheer me up. |
My grandma raises rabbits and her cat dragged the baby bunnies from the cage through a little gap and ate all of them. Moral of the story: Cats eat rabbits.
My dog wouldn't go and mess with a cage with a rabbit in it solely because he knows that he'll gets pwn't for it later. And he doesn't care much for small, furry creatures. The only pets I've had that have died were goldfish that I fed to my oscars. I'd put 50 gold fish in there and three would survive. |
@ aisha.
Thanks dear *hugs* I've always kinda hated dogs, my dad does and once my sister got attacked by a german shepherd, so for years I was scared of dogs, like see a dog and run away kind of scared. My street is like that too, full of mongrels who bark day and night at completely nothing. For instance next door (same neighbour who rescued Cookie from mutilation) her dogs would be dead if I had a weapon I swear...I couldn't even put flowers on Cookies grave (dad buried her closeish to their fence for some reason) without the Bitch (female) Molly, running up and down the fence growling and snarling at me and kicking up all their garden. It was just what I needed at the time :( Too many owners near me just 'own' dogs without giving them lots of attention and changes of scenery and dicipline and stuff |

Even domesticated cats/dogs know the food chain order. I realy respect people who take the time to train their dogs to behave properly, it makes life easier for everyone! And wow, thats alot of fish ^^ did you breed them? |
Nope. Oscars are carnivorous fish. Those goldfish were dead in the water when I put them in there.
Oh, and when I was in 5th grade, my hamster died trying to escape. |
Ohhh I see, were they expensive to feed? the oscars I mean.
Sorry about your hamster =( They're so cute I wish I could have one, I dont even think they exist where I live. *shrug*? |
I would have shot the owner. That’s exactly why stupid people shouldn’t have pets. I had a wolf/dog hybrid kill seven of my rabbits in one day before. I had this huge hutch that had dividers in it to keep the rabbits separated and the wolf-dog jumped on top of it and ripped the chicken wire off the top of the hutch.
By the time I got home, it already killed most of my rabbits. We ended up suing the wolf-dog’s owners because the thing was always lose and it ended up not only killing my rabbits, but biting my brother too. Luckily, they were made to get rid of the wolf. |
I'm sorry for you.. that must be very sad :/
but it's just natural for animals.. they don't understand that it's somebodys pet. when I was a child we had three lambs "rented" in our summer house.. a dog of a police man came at night and chased them, bit them and ate MY lamb :( the other two lambs.. they shared the same destiny later, because neither of them had any working legs so they had to be put down.. -.- when I found out in the morning I just cried all day long.. but that doesn't change the fact that I love dogs :3 I agree though that people should keep them on leash <.< never know what's going to happen! |
My aunt and uncle live out in the country and they have lots of wild animals around their house. A few years ago their collie Elijah found a nest of baby bunnies. He didn't actually hurt them, but he had one of them in his mouth. They were so tiny they only had a very fine layer of fur so they still looked pink. I took the baby from him and followed him up to where the other babies were (there were three more). He had apparently upset their nest and the babies were all out in the open. I took them inside, put them in a warm towel to try and warm them up a bit. One of them died unfortunately, but the others were doing okay after they warmed up. My aunt kept Elijah and her cats in the following couple of days and went out to check n the baby bunnies every so often. The mom did eventually come back to take care of them, which was really good and made me happy. ^^ |
@ Kiwi- Boy did I feel like it! especially when I found out the truth and that I vaugely know the people
You should have read the blog I made on myspace. I saw the guy yesterday and he told me how a few days before the dog was supposed to be destroyed it ran away to his house so they booked to do it instead, and only hours before it was agian supposed to be destory it 'disappeared'. I hope it died anyway, and horribly like...hit by a car but took long, painful hours to die. You story is so sad! makes me hate dogs even more DX @ Sagitar. O_O omg, thats awful, lambs are sooooo adorable! I think it should be law for dog owners to have secure fences, leashes (I think its law here anyway) and muzzles on viscious breeds. With huge penalties for brekaing those laws. Pitbulls are (I think) illegal to breed over here now, which means that the species with eventually die out I suppose. But they're awful dogs! they attack humans all the time, and have some sort of hunting mechanism thingy that means their jaw completely locks onto their 'prey' and can't let go. Gotta like beat them off. |
somthing like that happened to me too, so i know how it feels, my little Roger was gone when i came home from school, we had him outside in his cage for a little while, but when i went to go see him i saw a empty cage, it looked like somthing was trying to get in his cage, & i was sad, my parents said he ran away, but i know he's gone...I was depressed and still am...i will miss Roger, & i used to read books to him about another bunny, i know it sounds stupid to read to him, but I read that same book to him every night before i went to bed. I really miss him, & thinking of him hurts, but things like that happen...& i wished it NEVER happends again, but it DID. After that i didnt get any more rabbits or animals after that...so i know its hard, but try and feel a bit better...

Aisha- Thats a nice story, and lucky that the mother didn't reject them after the dog found them and they were handled, baby bunnies are so wonderful to watch growing up, Cookie had babies before and my other rabbit, Choccy. And my sister's old rabbit had lots of babies over her life, eeee I just love them ^^
Sanajima- =( I'm so sorry for you *hugs*, Roger is a great name too. My best friend was great, I called her straight after it all happened and she came over an brought me chocolates and distracted me. |

And more secure for the dogs too! yes, pit bulls are ment to be for hunting/fighting, so they have it on their instinct.. :/ but they too can be most lovable doggies, it's just that everyone fears them. they are always the bad dogs in movies xP |
In Australia it is illegial to walk your dog without a leash. It is a heafty fine and possible even a jail sentence. But we had these neighbours who would regually walk their dog, a fucking huge rotti, without a leash. I didn't like going into my back yard because there was only a flimsy chicken mesh fence between me and that dog. Seriously that dog attacted one of their kids.
But the dogs I absolutely hate, are those friggin toy breeds, those ones that constantly yap yap yap yap! I have no problems with dogs in general, it is the owners that piss me off! |
that is...incredibly sux and hurts...
that makesme totally understand why did u hate dogs... well, i actually experience almost the same thing but this time , with a CAT ( the so called dogs "bestfriend" ) ...i had a hamster...i mean, i couple of hamster...u know when theres two of them, theres babies ^^ i was extremely happy to find out that she gave birth to SEVEN baby hamsters!...but it wasnt for so long... the story began like this...after the babies was born, i could put her into the cage...it was too small for her, and the male hammy ( named mitamura ) had to be separated from her..u know, its mummy hammy's way of living... so...i decided to put papa hammy in the usual cage, and the mama hammy in a biiig basin...of course i put a cover on top, and fill the basin with clothes so that the surface would be soft...i was watching the mummy hammy , being with her babies...it was actually touching o.o ...but then, i just TURNED my body...i did not go anywhere AT ALL!...i just turned to have a sip of syrup ( as far as i remember) that was on the table behhhiinddd me....but when i turned back to see her, a 'stupid ugly yellow cat with crooked tail' took her and her babies....$((#_... i tried to chase him, seriously but of course he got away through windows and jumped onto the walls...stupid cat... i cried for 2 days!...it was that serious that my mom actually felt bad so he bought me another female hammy which looks like her ( orange colour ) ...i was happy a bit...BUT, this has not end here....THE STUPID FREAKING SAME CAT came a few days later.....he actually OPENS the gate of hammy's cage...i dont know how the heck he did that, but he succeded ONCE...i cried again....SERIOUSLY BADLY....because i saw him did that, again..and i could not get the stupid cat , and again....from that on, i actually tie up the cage... >.< BUT, i didnt hate cats though...i only hate...UGLY ORANGE CAT...yup, its quite specific...in fact, i have a cat in my house but these cats are good cats...they dont eat raw meat like the stupid cat does....ughh.. ( please dont mind my words, sorry a bit emotional D; ) ......till then, my papa hammy, mitamura LIVED alone...but he died a few month later , when i was ABOUT to get to school...in the morning..... *gonk* well...thats how my story ended... |
I'm really sorry for you loss, I know what that is like, as someone who has a lot of hamsters, and a dog who naturally likes to kill rodents of any kind it's not fun to find your pet killed, and then think about what they went through. It's depressing. .__.
But I don't think that is any reason to hate a whole species, I mean animals do that unfortunately. But I can see how that would make you not want to have anything to do with them. :0 If there is anyone you should be hating, it should be the people who didn't bother to use a leash, and then couldn't bother to keep an eye on the dog, anyway though. |
Sagitar-
Yea beagles are hunting dogs too =( Rotweilers, pitbulls, dobermans, germans shepherds, all the movie guard type dogs are in the top ten most dangerous breeds xD So there's a reason to be scared. True Daashi, I can tolerate dogs if they're well behaved, maybe even like the odd one like my sisters friends' who is a big, cute, sook who carries around bath matts and slippers in his mouth for comfort ^^! sweet- Thats awful :o What a sneaky bastard of a cat. Hamsters are so cute >.< It sucks to have to go to extreme measures just to keep innocent pets same from the evil ones! O: |

Why you do/dont use a leash? We put our dogs on a leash so they don't run away.
Any animals you hate and why. No. Pets you have lost. Two dogs. They ran away and never came back. |
kitties- I do hate the people, alot alot, but I hate dogs, that dog, for..being dogs and having that instinct, if that makes sense.
Jenova- Cool ^^ what do oscars look like? are they big? |
When I was a baby my mom had a couple of a male and female tortoises , they were very small babies and she had a couple so they had company, then a horrible friging dog chew (litteraly) one of them...the female...and poor "Dino" has ever been lonely </3 i think his heart is broken since then...
I hate dogs Im a cat person I have a kitty she is adorable |
Poor little tortise =(
did he ever get a new friend? Thats so sad, animals who are paired for life would truly mourn when they lose their other half. Go cats =D My sisters kitty (kinda half mine too cos she's not living at home anymore and I pay for his food, but she technically bought him) is great, he's not all that sociable but when he's in the mood he gives the best snuggles. I want another kitt, an all mine kitty =D |
