oh my god i feel like...so angry now
i too have a rabbit who i love so very dearly she is like a family member rather than a pet i haven's fed her for like two days because i have only just got back from a trip up country and forgot to remind my family to feed her its too dark to go down the garden now and i am scared something might be wrong i guess it would be my own fault and i feel ultra bad i like dogs but there nature does some terrible things I'm sorry for your loss i really do feel for your situation :cry: |
Im sorry for your bunny that story made me sad.
I remembered when a few years ago I saw a kitty being atacked by my neighborgs dog, I blame my stupid heartless neighborg. He just stood there watching and laughing while the dog flinged around the poor kitty. I just looked at him horrified, I think my dad went over and said something to him, I was crying. But the kitty died still. I've hated my neighborg ever since. My puppy is a two year old ^^ she's really nice and we have raised her to be friendly to all animals, she barks at them but only cuz she wants to play with them. She loooooves babies <3 she loves our other neighborgs baby, she's really carefull with him and likes to lick his toes ^^ she's a small puppy probably doesnt weigh more that 10 pounds. I love her <3 |
I'm very sorry about your bunny. My little brothers daycare had their pet rabbit stolen from them. Her name was Sugar Bunny and she was taken by PETA. (For NO good reason)
My pet pitbull is the biggest baby and I love him. Hes well behaved and always leashed. I'm really sorry that happened to you and its unfortunent, people should control their damn animals. |

Ive seen my old dog kill many things before, but he was put down. I didn't even know he was put down until a year ago. (He died when I was around 7) Up until A Year ago, I thought he had died from cancer. But thats rather off topic.. I had a bunny once. I loved it too, maybe not as much as you clearly loved yours, but I still cared for it. (I can't remember it's name, I'm not sure it even had a name..) But one day I took it out into the hallway of my apartment to play with it (I was around 6..) and when it was time to go in, the bunny wouldn't come back in. I tried to pick it up and carry it back in but it wouldn't budge, or it jumped away. My grandma said to just come in and close the door for about a minute and it'll scratch on the door, as it usually did when it wanted to go somewhere. (And nobody usually uses our hallway so we thought it'd be okay.) So (I can't believe I did this) but we shut the door for a minute or so, and when we opened it, it was gone. :( It couldn't have hopped away because the hallway is completely sealed off..The end of it has a big plastic glass door at it. I'm getting off topic but I cried for hours.. Also, I had 2 cats once, one of which I Loved to death, the other I hated (because it hissed at me, always ran from me, and scratched me) and when my mom left us, my grandma was the only one who was able to keep the cats, and since shes so old, she had to give them away. :( Also, when I was younger I had found a bat with a broken neck and missing its eyes, but still alive, upside down on the bottom of a wall on the way home from school, so I kept it and fed it, it could hardly move its mouth to eat, on the 3rd day I had it, it died. I don't hate any animals so far..or at least I can't think of any right now, but I do know what it's like to loose a loved pet. </3 |
Aww, sorry about your rabbit.
I tried to keep a rabbit once. But a wild cat killed it. : / I've stuck to cats and dogs since then. I'd like to think that my dogs wouldn't kill furry things, but who knows. They know to treat the cats with respect, so long as the cats are in the house. They would chase the semi-feral cats in our back yard given the chance. But I agree, animals should be leashed if they're outside of their yard. |
I use to walk a neighbors dog for him and I would use a leash, but the fuckers were A LOT stronger than me and would get off. Same with my uncle's dog, he got away from me once a attacked another dog, I had no idea how to get him back to me and I was in TEARS because I was so scared. And another time, he killed a poor little chipmunk and it made me cry as well because I couldn't get him to stop. :emo:
But I've recently lost some dogs here (three of them actually) two because they attacked my mother-in-laws chickens (which she loved and had about twenty of them) and basically all of them were dead, even though they were inside a pin. And the other one died of old age. But I've never been super attached to any animals, so... |
Wow, I'm very sorry about the rabbit. I almost know how you feel. One time my rabbit was in the front yard and the dog from across the street, I think it as a chihuahua, ran up and started chasing my rabbit. It was scary, because none of us could stop it until the neighbor came and stopped him. I'm always careful about walking past that house now, especially with pet, because he could just run out at anytime and attack us.
Whenever my dogs are outside we put them on leashes, but they stay inside most of the time. Animals I hate? Other than the neighbor's chihuahua... oh yah, my neighbor's pit bull! It's well trained, but I'm so afraid of it. It's huge! It like to play with people, too, so when it come running towards me I'm always like, " :shock: Ahh! " Have I lost any pets? My autistic little sister strangled 3 baby rabbits, and I had to return 2 dogs to the pound. ( But I got the 2 I have now, some time after. ) That's about it. |
I am truely sorry about your loss! I really am but hating all dogs is not the answer! My beloved hamster from when I was a little girl was murderd by a girl who picked him up. Got bit. And threw him to the bars and that broke his little neck, killing him. After that happened to me that didn't make me hate dogs... Now whether you care or not is up to you but hating dogs is not the answer...

I absolutely love dogs. I can feel your pain but understand it not the dogs fault, its the owners. Dogs are naturally instinctive to do stuff like that. You can't really blame them for it. It is the owners fault for not using the leash properly.

actually that same thing happened to me,
but i still love my dogs more than anything else! But i blame it more on myself and gymnastics... because my rabbit could open it's own cage, which i normally double checked before i leave somewhere and reinforced it, but i was running late for gymnastics so i didn't check it, he got out, and died of shock when my dogs chased him. but being mad at dogs for killing a rabbit is like being mad at a layer for winning a case! it's what they're hard-wired to do. anyways, i'm never getting another rabbit unless no one has a place for it, (i have a giant rabbit den that i built) because my second rabbit also died young and from escaping, and got hit by some jack-ass corvet. although i still have my sister's rabbit, and another one, because someone dumped it infront of a petstore :( |
Dx Aww, don't hate the dog. It's not the dogs fault, it's the owners for not keeping an eye on it. The dog was just going on instinct.

I had a baby bunny once and my neighbors cat got to it. >_>; Cats are actually more dangerous than dogs. o_o; I was watching the 10 Most Extreme Dangerous Cats. >_> House cat was first because it just hunts for fun. Dx As for Pibbles (;3 Did some back reading)and those other "dangerous" breeds----yes they can be dangerous because of their instincts, but it's also the owners that raise them. For example, when I lived in Ohio, some people on our street had 2 Pibbles, a Black Lab, and a Standard Poodle. Dx The poodle was extremely vicious. It chased my sister down the entire street and knocked her off of her bike. :3 I myself, now, have a Cairnoodle (Cairn Terrier Poodle mix) and a Yellow Belly Slider (turtle). :'3 My dog is terrified of Spiffy. XD She's just so innocent. |
Yeah, for some dogs it's just instinct to destroy everything that moves. Seriously, I've met a dog like that. But it was in a cage. It's really kinda the owners fault, unless this was just some "out of the blue" thing and no one could have expected it.

Wow...that sounds really sad :? Good thing for me is that my dog is ALWAYS in my house, and not allowed to go outside. For her to do her "duty", she just goes to the backyard, since its pretty big. But yea, sorry to hear about your little bunny, hope you feel better.

Well I hate rabbit owners who house their buns outside and don't re-inforce against things like this. Sorry but if you're going to hate dog owners I can hate certain bunny owners. At least I have the decency to specify it down to the irresponsable ones.
A bunny should be in a safe enviroment. One where dogs can't get in. It's alright securing your hutch, although if a dog can get into it, then it isn't actually that secure and you should just be grateful it wasn't a badger! Those things can do a hell of a lot more damage than that type of dog. Also if you're securing a bun outside you shouldn't make it so a dog can get into your garden in the first place! I have sympathy for you but it's not entirely the dog and it's owners fault. Learn the lesson. Actually secure all future buns. And for the record most responsable bun owners (the ones who run rescues and do bunny runs halfway across the country to make sure a bunny goes to a good home) actually barricade their hutches behind more than one fence because as I say, a badger can do a lot more damage than a dog. And a human isn't likely to scare a bager away from it's bunny very easily at all. And I have heard of badgers actually attacking people in their efforts. Sorry you're rabbits dead. As both a rabbit owner and a dog owner though I am angry at this post. Don't blame a dog for it's natural instinct and don't shove the blame from you 100% yes the owners were bad in letting their dog do that but you are also responsable for only taking a few precautions. Who would you blame if it were a wild animal? God? The universe? Plus on a side note, not all dogs are like that. My two lay in the garden and the buns hop all over them and the dogs just let them. |
I don't hate any animals, I just don't like bad owners who don't know how to take care of their pets. Where I live it's illegal to have your dogs running around the neighborhood without a leash because of dog attacks that have happened here. In the cases here I'm pretty sure it was one "pack" of dogs that were abused by their owner, which usually turns them violent, and the she just let them run. It is natural instinct for dogs to attack things like bunnies, which is why the owner should have had their dog on a leash or kept it inside.
I'm really sorry for the loss of your bunny, I can't imagine how bad you felt. Losing a pet is like losing a best friend. |
We use a leash fo my puppy because shes an english bull terrier so the bread is known to be kind of insane if they arent treated right ;0;
i love her so much but she bites me alot and when she licks me i get all itchy D; plus i dont think if we let her off shed come back Dx i hate snakes because my friend had snakes and she made me watch her feed it her baby mice, she bought live ones and they'd just lye there kind of whimpering ;~; so i guess thats why i hate them >.< i lost my rats and my cat :[ my rats got cancer and my kitty cat got hit by a car infront of a stop sign D; and im so sorry that happened!!! i hate people who dont control their pets >:[ Are you going to like press charges? because dogs have to be contained basiclly at all times right? so its the owners fault D': omg my post is so long>.< sorry~ |

I use a leash for my doggy, but even if he does get away he's a very sweet dog. He wouldn't hurt anything. He'd just sniff it to death. XD I wouldn't blame the animal, they just act as their nature tells them to. The owner is at fault here. Keep your damn dog on a leash so it doesn't go sprinting after MY dog. -_-'' I don't like it when people don't have their dog on a leash and it tries to kill my baby. If you've got your dog in a park, that's one thing. In residential areas, I have to wonder what they're thinking. If it sees another dog across the street and runs out in the middle of the road? -_- |

Sorry about you bunny. I had a hamster once, they were very difficult to keep since somehow they kept getting out of their cage. Anyway, the only pets I've lost to another animal were my nine ducklings, that me and my sister won in her school's fair. They were eaten by a large rat. However the rat was killed by my dog. So justice served I supposed, I still want to raise ducks however but mom has decided that dogs were enough. I have seen another animal eaten by my dog but I don't think it counts since it was already dead. I'd rather not go into detail about that one for now since I am not comfortable talk or typing about it.

I completely agree with keeping a dog on a leash when you're walking around and making sure the back gate is locked so they can't get out but this is no reason to hate dogs altogether. All animals do retarded things but it doesn't mean you gotta hate the species for it. My two dogs wouldn't hurt a fly and our cat *who is prolly smaller than a bunny* gets along with them fine. Heck, they don't even bother my hamster. I'm sorry for your loss but don't puppies in general. T^T
