Right now I'm feeling that way about a picture. I really need to stop showing my in progress work to my parents. They like to critique, even though I see the same issues they do. Grrrrr...

Consider the crusade joined. lol
Curse that nostril! It doesn't look perfect yet! (is upset at her pic.)

  • You show stuff to parents? @[email protected] I don't show my traditional works to anyone, ever >_> I like to explain stuff, and explaining "EPIC!!" or shiny shiny rubber covered butts to my mother is something I'd rather to pass on >_>

    How does someone know when they've given enough critique? When they're just nitpicking? I usually give none (If I think the person is too weak to handle it/is obviously not asking for it), but in my head I still see thousands of things that seem off.

    Not giving critique is bad, though. I mean, if I just believed my friends and mom going all "Oooo, wai wai kawaii!" and didn't have that nitpicky critic in me, I wouldn't improve.
    On another hand, maybe sometimes a drawing is just "nice" and there's no need to go all crazy about that line that is totally of the wrong micron thickness!

    Also, is it really big-headed of me to sometimes think "Yeah, mom, it's good- for the level of your abilities. It's nowhere near where I need to rise? It seems so :/

    Haaa, long post is long.

    Show your pictures, consarnit! I've seen that supposedly doodle one and those at your thread- holy mole, you gud!- and I demand moar >V

no i don't mean the style, i assumed you meant the attitude ^^;
i mean it just kind of seems more down, and not so "whiny" that emos are...
but anyways it doesn't matter, because it's such a good drawing!

  • Kitten, thanks :) And yes, definitely try yourself out at Paint, it's something everyone should do ;)

    Forko, aww, you're flattering me :oops: I understand what you meant now @[email protected] But I'm.. harsh, I guess? Any kind of sadness or being down, emotional or depressed is 'emo' and 'whiny' for me *nods*

    Though I usually can't bring myself to judge other people like that, so how does that work? 8)
