... Is That A Balloon? ._.

Have you ever seen anything on the freeway that wasn't supposed to be there?

While my parents were driving home, I was starting to doze off in the backseat. After a few hours or so, I realized that there was a red balloon drifting down an empty lane.

For some odd reason, that made me sad. It reminded me of the days when my parents thought I was still young enough for balloons. I used to take them home and keep them in the dark. I always tried to make them last, and I always started to cry when they were shriveled up. :( Then my parents threw it out the dead body.

Have you ever been saddened by the most random thing?

Cherry Who? 11-26-2007 01:13 AM

If you had seen the movie It, that would scare the hell out of you more than it would make you sad. XD

Sometimes I'll see a stuffed animal on the side of the road. That makes me a little sad. I mean, what if some little girl or boy accidentally dropped it out the window, or it got accidentally tossed out the window? (maybe they were throwing it back and forth, and weren't thinking that the window was open)
Then they lost their teddy, or bunny or whatever. :(

Also, cloudy days tend to sadden me a little. But I think pretty much everyone is like that. ^^

Lol, besides litter I haven't seen anything odd..I dont think..xD
But yes...I have been saddened by random things..that bring back memories..:3

nescia 11-26-2007 01:15 AM

Aww.
I always sad when balloons died, too.
>.<

Christmas music is putting me in a sad mood right now. It might just be because I've had a shitty evening, and it's not getting better -- but it just makes me think of times when everything was happy. It seems sometimes like there's nothing left to be truly, completely, genuinely happy with.

Bleh~ ;-;

Elemental Cotton 11-26-2007 01:17 AM

Most of the time random stuff don't make me sad. Most of the time, I'm sad because a book series has ended or a show that I liked very much finally has ended or was canceled. Soo.. yeah, randomness doesn't really make me sad. :/

Azelf_Rampardos 11-26-2007 01:18 AM

Hmm, well I sometimes get sad when I am in the bus, and I am staring outside, and its a dark, rainy day....I don't know why, but usually, depending what weather it is, it can even show what mood I have XD But not always, I can be really happy and its a stormy day, so never know.

Dystopia 11-26-2007 01:19 AM

@ Cherry - If I saw a stuffed animal on the road, I would be pretty depressed. I used to think that my stuffed animals came to life when I was younger. I got upset if my parents threw them or something, and I got a little doctor kit to put band-aids all over them. I still don't like to see my stuffed animals mistreated. Though my mom thinks I've outgrown them and they're starting to disappear, one by one. She always promises to leave them alone, but the next time I go looking for one, its gone. *sighs*

@ Rainy - I can understand that. But usually, when I'm sad, the right kind of music can put me in a better mood. But if I'm absolutely devestated, I'm in no mood for music.

@ Elemental - Heh, I can also understand that. I hate it when I finish a book and its like... Omfg, its over?!

  • Melting snow - when it's all trampled and muddy and slushy - makes me sad.

And for some reason, I feel a little sad when I think of the way vapour trails from planes sometimes disappear really fast.

KNOX 11-26-2007 01:22 AM

I didn't realize why that made me scared to think about until you reminded me of It. That movie was scary, until you watch the end and then your like "what the hell?"

Dystopia 11-26-2007 01:25 AM

@ Beyond - I haven't seen snow in a long time, so I wouldn't know. But I do recall being extremely sad that I couldn't take this little Mini-Snowman on the train with me, when I was going somewhere. I hid him inside, hoping he would be safe the next time I came. I was naive enough to think that it wouldn't melt. :(

Aliesier 11-26-2007 01:28 AM

I get sad when I finish a good book. I also get sad when there is a happy ending. I'm not sure why, though.

Dystopia 11-26-2007 01:30 AM

@ Alie - Probably because you wish there was more to read. Though, the sadness for me is usually mixed with satisfaction.

Melissa 11-26-2007 01:30 AM

When plants or flowers die it makes me really sad. I always have to give them a little funeral when I throw them out.

Also, I feel really bad for stuffed animals. I can't get rid of any of my stuffed toys because it makes me feel guilty like I'm abandoning them. ;_;

Dystopia 11-26-2007 01:36 AM

@ Melissa - I never had much of a Green Thumb. But I named my cactus. I'm got really excited when it flowered. :( I hope it outlives me. It can be planted on my grave!

Lovely Akari 11-26-2007 02:57 AM

It always makes me sad to see balloons flying up into the sky because I know that somewhere a little kid is crying because he or she lost his balloon.

Risque 11-26-2007 03:02 AM

Looking at old people sitting down makes me sad. Just the thought of someone, who knew that their time is almost up.. D': so depressing..

[L]ove[H]ate 11-26-2007 03:05 AM

That would've been very random and awkward.

When I was a tot I used to do that. But not my toys, no, they were my dummies and bottles that I would throw out of the car window on purpose.

There is a story in my family, about how we were going on a day trip to a local theme park, and about half-way through the trip I started to cry for my dummie. My family figure I had just threw it out the window, figured it was safe to backtrack. Turned out that I had thrown it out the window about an hour earlier.

Morbid Searaphim 11-26-2007 03:57 AM

i was always sad when i had to draw with crayons. for some reason i just hate crayons. when i was 5 my uncle gave me a 64(or was it 67?) count pack of crayola crayons for Christmas i started to cry my face out and they thought i was happy. guh. the year after he gave me a 96 count pack of crayons... i seriously didn't get it. am i missing something though? i mean green yellow, yellow green huh? people were so mean to me because i didn't care someone would say "pass the yellow green please." and i would give them green yellow and they would yell at me. i had stupid classmates WHO CARES IF YOUR TREES ARE DIFFERENT SHADES OF GREEN IN KINDERGARTEN.

-- i know i was a retarded little kid xD

kimu 11-26-2007 04:02 AM

Oh, I saw a red balloon on the freeway before. It made me kinda sad, like you, cause it reminded me of this movie that I saw where these kids were fighting over the balloon and it just flew away from them and they realized they were adults and that their childhood was better left behind, or something. I made it sound retarded D :

H_e_a_r_t 11-26-2007 04:06 AM

What's It? The movie xDD You guys were talking about it, does it has something to do with balloon? o.O

kimu 11-26-2007 04:08 AM

I think it has something to do with a clown o__o'' I dunno, I havn't seen it xD

Dystopia 11-26-2007 04:41 AM

@ Akari - I used to be so sad when I accidentally let go of a balloon. But once or twice, a balloon drifted near me and I got it. So I guess now I'll think that every balloon that drifts off can drift back down to make someone else happy, the way it did me.

@ Circa - Yeah, that's a depressing though. It's also confusing, since you don't know how to be really sad for that person, since you don't really know him or her.

@ Daashi - xD The poor toy. Did you find it?

@ Morbid - xD I would be one of those people. I was such a perfectionist when I was younger, it runs in the Asian blood. Nowadays? Not so much. I'm more spontaneous these days, but I still like my work to stay the same shade of green. Unless I'm trying to shade. >.>

@ Kimu - Aww. No, it sounds meaningful. <3

Poor little balloon. :/

I get sad at the oddest parts in books. I read A Raisin
in the Sun, and for some reason, the ending just made
me tear up. Then I got mad at myself. >__<
