Hey Sizz. >3<
Mmm... 2k for Overlord? :3 (If it's a go, can you send it to "Chi's Mule"? My gold's over there.) |
Thanks Jen! :D How're you today?
Hiii Chi! 2k... Let me go check the price guide. :) EDIT: It's a go. Let me go load up my trade in Safari. My inventory always crashes Firefox when I try to load it. T_T |
It crashes Firefox? Yikes! XD
|
*trade sent*
I find it amazing that it crashes in Firefox, but it's okay in Safari. Usually Safari sucks. XP Though I guess the new Safari (4) is supposed to be loads faster than Firefox. I find FF to be a memory hog... |
I'm not sure what I think of FF some days. It usually treats me very kindly, but I've noticed it start to lag me. I can't play "Attack of the Fan Girls" on my laptop without it crashing the browser. I'll probably try it with a different browser later.
I confirmed the trade on my end. :3 And, I'd stick and chat, but I need to get ready for class. Boo. >/ I hope everything's well!! *hugs and runs* |
Yeah, FF is testy for me sometimes. I guess it depends on what i'm doing. It crashed on Level 9 in Fan Girls for me, which is bad news. :(
Trade confirmed on my side too. Thanks Chi! :D Have a good day! Enjoy learnin'! |
I'm doing good! How are you doing? =3
|
Oh, I'm hanging in there. I got two doctor's appointments taken care of this morning, so that's kind of a load off of my back for right now. I dread seeing the bills for them though. Specialists are EXPENSIVE! T_T
|
Why did you have to go to two doctors appointments this morning? Do you not have insurance then? I know how you feel about doctors bills. I dread seeing them, too. Tis why I don't often go there anymore. I need to get myself some insurance. :XD
|
Well, the first was a consult with the urologist, which was pretty pointless if you ask me. He talked to me for all of three minutes, five tops, and that was that. I had more time talking to the intern (who was very cool and nice). And he charges $455 a visit, without insurance. Even with my insurance from work I have to pay $200 of that (from last fiscal year's visit in July -- I still hadn't made my deductible).
The second visit was with Admitting and Anesthesia. Again, pretty basic stuff. Vital signs, height, weight, etc. I'm having diagnostic surgery at the beginning of next month, so they had to get everything set up for it. I have major white-coat syndrome, so my blood pressure was super high. I have a lot of anxiety related to my bladder and ladyparts, so whenever I go to a doctor that's going to be prodding around that area, I'm all crazy nervous and anxious. I have normal BP at the general physician, so it's odd. Insurance is definitely a good thing. I'd be in big trouble if I didn't have it. I have a $2,000 deductible. My company pays the first $1,000 of that, then I'm responsible for the next $1,000. After that, the insurance company pays 100% of everything. Good thing I'm having money taken out of each of my paychecks in the next year to cover that $1,000. I'm sure the 'surgery' is going to be at least $5,000. I can't even imagine having to pay full price for it. I'd cry I think. American healthcare is so ridiculous. I just can't fathom what warrants this urologist charging $455 for a visit where he basically does NOTHING but ask a few questions. LAME. |
What exactly is wrong? :insane: Sound serious. :gonk: Surgery and whatnot, $5000 dollars! I too get much more nervous around gynos or doctors that need to look at my ladyparts above and below. However, just going in for something else doesn't make me nervous at all. I'm so used to hospitals and doctors.
Health insurance is pretty darn nutty. And I hate when you get charged and arm and a leg to sit in a waiting room forever, then waiting some more for the doctor to show up in the room; and then of course having them talk for five minutes and then they leave. :/ |
Well, my bladder has been having issues for the last year or so. I was always the kid who could go on an eight-hour car trip and only pee once. I've always had a bladder of steel until last year, when the constant discomfort/pain/urgency started. Since then it's off and on pain and discomfort. Makes it hard to sit sometimes... But yeah, the test I'm getting done is basically to tell me if I have interstitial cystitis -- an inflammation of the bladder wall that's non-curable. It's one of those things that they can treat for pain and whatnot, but it won't ever go away permanently, though some people say they're in remission.
 $5,000 for surgery isn't that much. I don't even have to stay in the hospital. It's outpatient. XP I can't even imagine what a major surgery and having to stay in the hospital would cost me. Shit, I should have become a doctor! I could have made big bucks just talking to patients for a few minutes and going on my merry way. blah. |
What exactly are the symptoms you have? Because lately I've been having the urge to go A LOT (even though before I too could go for some time without having to use the loo). And my left side of that general area has been hurting me A LOT, too. Sometimes it does hurt to sit, bend, walk. :( Last time I went to the doctor, I told them I thought it might be an infection. But the called me and said it wasn't. No...the called me and said, "You're pregnancy test came back negative." :XD Even though I never opted for a pregancy test and I told them I'm a virgin, lol.
That's at terrible thing to have to deal with if you have to live with it forever. I hope things come out positive for you. When I was in the ER a few months ago, I had the worst experience with a doctor. I think he actually quit or got fired after I filed my complaint. After any visits, the hospital here sends out a form for you to fill out (it's optional); asking about the visit. I didn't keep things light. :XD $5000 is a lot to me, haha. But I suppose you're right. Having to stay at the hospital and whatnot might be even more expensive. |
Well, let's see...
Mostly it's just a general discomfort in my bladder area. Sometimes it feels like I have to pee, even though I know I don't -really- have to go. Like that tingly feeling you get when you have to pee isn't there, but there's this weird pressure on your bladder like you have to go. Sometimes I have residual issues too. Like, I'll go to the bathroom and then I"ll have to go back a few minutes later because I can tell my bladder hasn't emptied completely. Other days, it feels like someone kicked me in the ladyparts. It's achy and uncomfortable. It's a range of symptoms honestly, but those are the ones I've got. Also, some ladies who have this pee 60+ times per day, which would drive me insane. I used to go 3x per day and that's it. Now it's more like 4-5, which is normal, but for me is strange since I'm not used to going that much. Did you have a urinanalysis and culture done? I had several, and nothing ever came up on any of them, so I know it's not a bacterial infection down there. So that's why I decided to go to a specialist... If you're having issues like mine, I suggest you get it checked out a urologist. It sounds like you might actually have a kidney infection if your side hurts, but if it's been going on for a long time now, you'd know you had an infection. You'd get really sick really fast with kidney issues. Good thing you told that hospital what that doctor was like! No one needs to suffer needlessly through an obnoxious or mean staff member/doctor. :( Oh, $5,000 is a lot for me too! It's going to take a lot to get my deductible! That's $1,000 I could have used on a new computer! XP |
Ah, maybe that's now what I have. I think you might be right about the kidney. I've had this pain for months now. I talked to a few others about it and they said the same thing as yourself. I'm just worried about going to the doctor and telling him my concerns about it. Firstly, I do not have the money to go there. Secondly, though I'm used to needles, I'm worried about what they'll do to me if there is something wrong with my kidneys. :gonk:
I really hope things go well for you though. Less time wasted trying to figure out just what is going on means they can treat it sooner. I should be telling myself this, lol! But it really sounds like you're suffering from a lot of discomfort. Good luck with that surgery; I hope things go well! |
Well, if you have a kidney infection, that can be taken care of with antibiotics -- in pill form most likely, so no needles. But you must be taking decent care of yourself, because a kidney infection can get out of hand really quickly. My aunt had one last year and was sooooo sick.
I suggest you find a clinic that would be affordable to go to. That'd be the first thing I'd do if I were in your position and didn't have insurance. A regular doctor can do the urinanalysis and culture for you -- or even your gyno could do it. You just call and tell them you think you have a kidney or bladder/urinary tract infection. Usually I call my gyn and she just has me come in to the lab and leave a urine sample. I don't even have to have an office visit. If she finds bacteria, then she calls in an antibiotic to the pharmacy and that's it. Seriously though, if it's causing you problems and you feel sick, I'd have it looked into sooner than later. You don't want to risk the health of your kidneys... But again, since this has been going on for a long time, that might not be the problem. Oh lordy, it's almost time to leave work! I'm headed to the gym, but I'll be back later to reply to you if I don't see your post by the time I leave. :D |
