xD;; My eye sight is horrible. @@;; </3

I go to the eye doctor once a year..and I'm always getting worse. xD;;<3 You know that test they give? Your supposed to read the letters from the chart? Yeah... Haha. I can't read the big "E." xD;;<3

My doctor had it up there the last time, and he hold me to read out the letter(s) that were displayed. It took me a full two minutes to admit defeat and tell everyone that I couldn't see it. xD;;<3

Ahh~ I tend to walk into walls when I'm blind. xD; ;Haha. If at night, I put my glasses away in a location that's not normal to where it usually is, I fumble around -a lot- in the morning looking for them. xD;; My brother's found me crawling on hands and knees once peering at the floor trying to find it. xD;;<3

Being an avid reader I cannot stand to open my eyes when my glasses break.
If I cannot get them fixed immediately I go to sleep.
I have this kit with a mini screwdriver and extra screws but I don't carry it everywhere.
I wish I could get contacts but they are so expensive.
My glasses always get knocked off, beat up, and scratched around my crazy friends.
It's truly becoming a safety hazard.

I don't wear glasses but contact lenses instead, but I have a spare eyeglass in case something happens to my contacts.

If I'm not wearing either, I'll have a terrible headache a short while after. One that makes me nauseous too.

I have glasses, my eyes are almost to legally blind. I have had them since before Kindergarten, very very long time. I have a small indent in my nose from wearing them so long. Also I accidentally sleep with them, yet they seem to break at random times when I need them most. once i broke them right before a play. Another for something similar, Muphy's law.

As for when they are off, I can't see one bit, and in water looks weird. I normally give up, and either deal with squinting to still see nothing, or at times I have mixed up ingredients and such, but catch self before using them. I basically make a big mess from lack of ability to see.

I wear glasses too, but only for far away things and then again my eyesight isn't that bad. I only wear my glasses when I can't see stuff. It's not for like regualr use, 24/7 use.

Shrimp_Man 12-04-2007 08:17 AM

I got glasses when I was 17 and it was more for reading the board at school than wearing all the time, but then I decided that I wanted to wear them all the time and now I can't see the television 10 feet away clearly if I don't have my glasses on. Sometimes I think I screwed my eyes up by wearing my glasses all the time. *shrugs* I love my glasses though.

I've always worn glasses for reading, but last year i started wearing them full time. Now my eyesight is terrible without them on.

One stupid thing i did recently was, when i woke up, i thought i'd take my inhaler as i do every day.
Instead i grabbed a roll on deoderant next to it, and nealy had a lung full of it. xD

Wouldn't you have noticed that it was a different shape? All of my inhalers were in kind of a L shape, and as far as I know, roll on deodorants are only in a l shape.

Livia 12-04-2007 10:56 AM

I think their is no problem if you wash your hair with conditioner and not shampoo xD

But I'm not that blind when I'm not wearing my glasses ._. I can see somewhat what sin front of me.

I've been wearing glasses since 4th grade full time. My vision isn't that bad, I explain it to people like this: when I glasses aren't on the world looks like a Monet painting. Far away everything looks about right, but the closer it gets the more blurred and fragmented things are. It's lead to some funny instances when I've been trying to read things without my glasses on, but nothing super serious.

Glasses are so annoying.
I wear contacts, they're the solution to all your problems. C:

Titenya 12-04-2007 03:44 PM

I've worn glasses since I was in 3rd grade (my mom has had them since she was 6, and she's almsot 60 now) when i was little... I couldn't see the board in school, and even with my glasses it is still hard to see far away... that's why i've never been able to drive... never been able to pass the eye test.

heh don't get me wrong, i can see prety ok when it's not too far away, but i wouldn't be able to read the road signs while driving. For computer work and reading I have a second pair of reading glasses... my eyes are so bad that I can't adjust to bi-focals... they end up giving me migranes... and because of that I can't get contacts, the perscription would be too thick for the lense to fit in my eye... and I don't qualify for lazer surgery becasue of my family hsitory and the fact that i need a new pair of glasses about every 8 months.

in the shower... I have one of those racks with the shelves. I keep my body wash on the top shelf, and shampoo and conditioner on the second shelf. I can usually tell by the shape of the bottle when i'm grabbing it. The shampoo is king of an oval shape, but it's the same thickness from top to bottom. the conditioner is smaller at the top (the cap is like a cirlce) and the base is an oval.

Lemurian 12-04-2007 04:34 PM

I also need glasses. i'm 15 now, but i have been wearing them since i was 8. i can't see anything clearly past a 2' radius around me (without glasses, of course:P everything is all blurry). the onl time i don't wear them is when i am in gym class, in a shower, or sleeping.

i have a solution to your problem: put a waterproof sticker(s) of different color(s) on each bottle1 that will help you know what is what( large stickers, of course).

Last time I went to see an eye doctor a few years back The doctor told me my eyes were worse than his...and he looked like he was 40-50. So that's probably not that good. Everything more than a foot away from my face is a blur.

Cupola 12-04-2007 05:12 PM

I just can't see road signs without mine. Driving at night is near impossible. D:

You'd think so, but it was dark, and my inhaler is dry poweder, so it's the same shape as the bottom of the deoderant.

I am 19 and my eyesight's pretty poor, especially in my right eye. So I have been wearing bifocals since 6th grade. I've never minded my glasses nor have I got the teasing from it, it just become a pain in the butt when I lose them accidentally. XP;

And there was this one time where my sister and I got our glasses mixed up. Oh, the pain! x_x

Actually I can see okay up close, like I can see what I'm typing on the computer without my glasses. Leaning back from my computer chair, and I cannot see anything. Even my ava becomes a blur. owo

But without my glasses, I get headaches. X'D I've grown so used to them.

Me too! I knew it was green on top, but not like.. a mass of individual things.

And I thought stops and signs were identified because of their different colors. I didn't realize there was words on them! o__o

I've had glasses since I was 8, and I'm almost 16. I like how they look on me, though, despite the fogging.

disturbed66 12-05-2007 12:46 AM

If I take my specs out of my eyes, everything just looks blurry...that's it.

Marguerite Blakeney 12-05-2007 03:51 AM

  • I'm not legally blind but I have astigmatism. I started wearing glasses in 7th grade (I'm currently in college so I've been wearing these for a while). I thought my glasses would be annoying...but I've grown to looooove them and can't live without them. They're supposed to be for distance or whatever but I use them for everything. Even when I'm sleeping ^_^

If they come off...things are slightly blurry and it gets annoying but at least I can still distinguish things. I can still read small print too...
