Hey, you're kinda close to me and d2hiriyuu. We're in Chicago right now. The weather is absolutely beautiful today, isn't it? I just wanted to lie down in the grass and do nothing. ...but the ground isn't quite at the right stage. It's still kinda cold and slightly damp.

Good luck with your job offer!

Mmm... So sleepy. Don't know why, but I just am.

Izumi 03-14-2009 10:41 PM

Ohhh thanks!! I'm hoping that I'm on the top of their list. I've done the work at home thing for about a year and a half now and I love being able to work from home and to schedule myself. It makes it so much easier to schedule work around family time, since Aaron's schedule is kinda weird enough as it is.

The weather has been gorgeous!! We've had the worst winter in some time, haven't we?

Chicago?! Cool!! The kids went there for their summer vacation a couple years back, and I've been hearing what a cool place it is. They absolutely loved it. Dad took them to a museum and to the planetarium. Ever since then his little boy keeps on saying he's going to play for the Chicago Bears and his little girl thinks she's going to go to university in Chicago! It's really cute how they think Chicago is like the best place. It's the farthest they've been away from home. Hehe.

d2hiriyuu 03-14-2009 11:34 PM

As for Mark psyrien, I don't think he wants me around for drinkin/ any minors so yeah. plus we got into heavy relationship discussion when I asked him why he doesn't drink around me.

@ atashi good to know you are around here slightly. Chicago is quite amusing place, psyrien and I go to school here, but don't actually live in the area for our home town. I live in colorado and psyrien is from hawaii. hope I get to talk to you a bit too!

psyrien 03-15-2009 04:38 AM

Err... I thought I replied to this. Oops. Got distracted by the j drama. xD

Getting kinda tired, but I want to finish it! I am torn... And I don't particularly want to walk back to school, but I don't really want to sleep here. ...I wouldn't sleep well at all.

...Aota is creepy and evil and he shouldn't be forcing Erika to marry him! Erika should go with Kenji and they can have they're silly arguments all the time. ...and tsubaki seems to have disappeared. Boo. But sparkling was amusing.

And Kenji is so sweet to his little sister~ Awwwwww. x3

Izumi 03-15-2009 09:45 AM

What show are you watching Psy? And where can you watch it? I would love to watch some of the stuff on J-Tv. They've got some interesting programs!

psyrien 03-15-2009 03:02 PM

It's called Yasuko and Kenji. I don't know if it's airing right now, but I know you can download it somewhere (I don't know where to get this specific one because a friend brought it over). That's how I usually get most of my j drama. I wouldn't be able to stand waiting a whole week to find out what happens next. I like being able to just marathon through the whole series. xD

...I really want to do something outside today. It's so nice out, but I don't really know what I'd do or who'd come with me. Hmm... Maybe I'll just head out to the city and do some shopping. xD

Izumi 03-15-2009 08:08 PM

Awesome of your friend! I've been currently watching FullMetal Alchemist with my boyfriend, and he's really enjoying it. We've been renting it from the library. Unfortunately the Series 2, set 1 disks have like 3 other people on the waiting list before me so I'm having to wait my turn. It's driving us nuts as we want to see what happens next!! Such a good series! <3

I've also read up to volume 20 of Reservoir Chronicles: Tsubasa by clamp, and I don't know when the library will get the next volume in. Apparently there is 3 more left. It gets pretty dark and twisted near the end.

Ugghh I'm doing a full 7 and a half hours at work and it has been horribly busy. I can't wait to finish up tonight!

d2hiriyuu 03-15-2009 10:59 PM

I am not human furniture psyrien!! ANyway, blah, she is now playing a funny game...

I haven't been around, so yeah, very rarly on, I'll be back...

As for anime, I am a huge fan of it, so yeah, want to respond but my comp battery is dying.

Izumi 03-16-2009 02:03 AM

Hiyaaa d2!! Uhoh on a laptop?

When you get back want to tell me some of your favorite shows? So far FullMetal has to be up there. I also loved Escaflowne, and Haibane Renmei...ohhh and RahXephon was really interesting too.

I wish the library had a little more selection. Might have to register with Netflix soon. They do some anime from what I've seen. I've heard rave reviews about it too.

d2hiriyuu 03-16-2009 07:07 PM

Escaflowne is good, and nice and old. personal fan of .hack, I have a weird fun thing with it, like FMA for it's depth, Chrono Crusade is a fun one for me too, I have alot of favorites, problem being that after 12 years, there is no small list of favorites. Oh I like Code Geass too. I like one or two series from each season in japan that comes out, so those are what I list normally too. Right now I really am liking kuroshitsuji and Jikan no Eve.

As for manga, um, favorite list is huge cause I buy books and such too. CLAMP works are some of my favorite (tsubasa, xxxHolic, Card captor Sakura), then I have miscellaneous works that I love too. issue with having favorite manga is that I buy series I really like, and that is 114 series in total I am collecting.

Izumi 03-16-2009 08:27 PM

Awesome d2! I love clamp series too. I'm loving Tsubasa the Manga, and I watched several eps of xxxHolic. I want to borrow the manga, but I feel like kinda a perv calling in and asking for it due to the name of the title.... LOL!

I have watched the first series of Hack and while it was a slow series I enjoyed it. I cried when the little grunty died. Poor grunty!!! They're so cute and helpless when they're little. Sorry for the spoiler...!

Holy cow on the Manga!! I use to buy Anime and Manga but since my current boyfriend is just getting his feet wet and also money is tight I try to borrow or rent as much as I can these days. It's so incredibly expensive!!

d2hiriyuu 03-16-2009 11:59 PM

it is true, though I started while still living with my mom so it helped..
As for manga and xxxHolic., watching the series now, it is a good manga though, but yes can see the issue, though I just peruse the manga section at local store and buy then,

Mark has no food for me to munch on...

Izumi 03-17-2009 02:11 AM

Just out of curiosity d2 - do you prefer the Manga version or Anime? It's always an interesting discussion. Sometimes there's more emphasis put in one version over another, and in the case of Escaflowne you couldn't really even compare the two...Escaflowne's Manga was another story in its own right!

psyrien 03-17-2009 03:32 AM

I'm generally more of a manga person than anime person. It really depends on the series, though. Manga usually is the original, so it's how the story was intended to be without any silly fillers or missing chunks. Of course, some anime really don't do such a bad job of adopting the manga--some even do a spectacular job, but I'm more of an originalist. Besides, I really do love it for the art. Manga pulls that off so much better than anime just because of the medium.

...I've become addicted to the show Blood Ties. My sorority little sister gave me a few episodes, which I've watched and I'm now hooked. I've been raiding surf the channel for the rest of the series, but one of the links doesn't work, and megavideo says I've been watching for too long! Noooo! I wanna stare at the pretty long haired vampire more! TT.TT <- totally the reason why I'm watching. xD

d2hiriyuu 03-17-2009 05:09 AM

Hmm, how come i dan't have blood ties to watch??? bugs psyrien for it.

As for anime versus manga, I like manga, but if the anime is much better done, I like it. In the case of FMA they did an awesome job with it due to all the manga wasn't around when it was realeased, so the anime has a nice flow and other stuff. but as an ingeneral I like the manga better.

Izumi 03-17-2009 12:23 PM

d2 - maybe that explains why the plot of the story seems to flow different in the Anime VS the Manga. It has been awhile since I read the manga, and I only got a few volumes in (like to 5 or 6 if I remember right), but I could of sworn events happened in a different order than the Anime. Both are really good on their own accord.

One anime which is definitely better in manga format is Fruits Basket. Of course saying that there's 20+ volumes of Fruits Basket and only 4 DVDs to the Fruits Basket Anime (less than 20 eps if I remember right). That was a shame as I thought they did an excellent job with the Anime, and I absolutely loved their choice of actors for the dub. Oh yah Fruits Basket is on my 'favorites' list too!

okamimyst 03-17-2009 12:54 PM

I feel like I missed out on a lot of stuff while I was off climbing mountains.

As for anime/manga, since that's the topic everyone's on, I'm not as big of a fan as Dragon, but there are a few that I like. I generally stick to the manga, though. Love Crescent Moon. It's a short series, but detailed enough and fairly action-packed at that too. Love it. I can't wait until I know enough Japanese that I can actually appreciate the half of the series Dragon gave me. I like Hana Kimi, too. I haven't finished the series though.

Personally, I read more stuff online; like Red String. That's a good original online manga. A good love story always gets me.

psyrien 03-17-2009 04:09 PM

Red String... I read that one for awhile, and then stopped because I lost the link. ^^; I kinda want to pick it back up again, but I really have no idea where I left off and I don't particularly feel like reading it all again.

And dragon, you don't have Blood Ties because it's in iTunes format. xD Well, Kari only gave me two episodes. I'm watching the rest on surf the channel.

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! ...and I can't believe I missed the river dyeing AGAIN. While I was in Chicago. While I was DOWNTOWN. SLDKFSDLKJF. Silly me thought that they dyed the river on actual St. Patrick's Day. ...Apparently it's during the weekend. >_<

Izumi 03-17-2009 06:46 PM

Awww that stinks!!! Hopefully you'll be there for it next year, and you plan appropriately!!

I'm currently trying to sort out medical billing issues back from Sept of last year. I've been following this up for months now trying to make sure it went through properly, and it's been a very frustrating endeavor. I was told I was covered by the state government scheme going on, but because of a misdiagnosis code it's all gone wrong and apparently every time they try to resend it they deny it and therefore I get another bill in the mail. I definitely am for more reform in health care...what we have now is a total joke!

d2hiriyuu 03-17-2009 06:55 PM

yeah,. we missed river dying..... blarg, i wanted to go too. we'll get it more with newspaper and such me suspects. mark si playing left 4 dead, I want a shoower though.. Also Happy St. Patties day, and psyrien, you'll need to help me get out of habit of bed at 4 am and wake up at 1....

Fruit
s basket is actually jsut soemthing i don't like alot, it was good, but by the time the manga came around to read I had seen the anime 30 times in one month or so, got a bit ridiculous so I don't really liek the series since.

psyrien 03-17-2009 07:01 PM

I'm not that fond of fruits basket because of Tohru's mary sue-ness. At first, I loved the series for Kyo, but as I got into it more, Tohru's character just kept irritating me.

And my back hurts... >_< Stupid being female-ness. Rawwwwwrrrr.

Hmm... I feel like I should eat lunch at some point.

okamimyst 03-17-2009 07:23 PM

I found furuba to be annoying as well. I think that in recent years it's almost gotten too popular; especially the anime. We watched it at least once a year in Anime Club back in high school (along with FLCL), and it got over played. Things kind of tend to get bad if they're over played.

Sorry about your bill problems, atashi. I'm going through money stress right now, too. In the form of not having a functioning debit card....while I'm overseas....and will be going to Barcelona in a month....and need to pay to do laundry. I had to borrow 4 pounds for that today.

And I should really be studying now. We have another B.S. Exam tomorrow. 1660 - 1900. Yippee. I hate exams and I hate studying. Stupid school.

psyrien 03-17-2009 08:27 PM

Stupid school indeed. Oh, thank goodness for spring break!

Everyone should celebrate with me because I successfully made an over easy egg without popping the yolk on my first attempt! xD

d2hiriyuu 03-17-2009 11:48 PM

oh nivce, and yes tohru is hard to deal with, and then the anime came and the yuki versus kyo got tiring, i read for a while cause of the horse, but yeah, that is jsut me.

sorry if we scare you atashi about furuba but at some poiint it got boring or annoying for most of us apprently. (actually went on this rant with both psyrien and okami when we were together).

Recently beeing going back to my childhood TV series liek batman and gargoyles and watchign those again.

Izumi 03-18-2009 02:53 AM

Thanks for the support oka regarding money troubles. Got more bad news too. Boyfriend (or well officially fiance, however until I'm officially married it feels strange calling him that...he says we'll get married in the same week the divorce goes through though if that is any comfort...very long and involved story though regarding divorce though *sigh*)...ok anyways Boyfriend found out he's getting temporarily laid off for 2 weeks along with the entire plant. They're also scaling down everyone's hours. This is exactly what we don't need right now with bills going up and my hours going down. It feels like it's a no win situation.

And about Fruits Basket being lame, I can understand. It is well over hyped however I definitely enjoyed it.
