Hmm... You could suggest the questing thing for a retreat activity or something? I think it might be fun, but I really have no experience role playing, so there might be a few people like me that you have to guide along.

There is a hutch it goes with, and the two were in price range when they were on sale, but I don't think they are now. ...Unless there is another sale going on that I don't know about. hm, the idea is team building more than role playing really. and it isn't hard to not role play and do other stuff instead (like just think out strategy). As for desk, ok I'll tell her and we'll see, and I need a chair...the ottoman is not comphy for computer setup.

Yes you do, so Erick and I were thinking, possible to chip in money so we can get him to come, thinking soroity for part, and others and such, so then we could have sorority thing 1 day, and external for everyone who wants to for the other, And technically you can run around now hitting me with a foam weapon if I have the other like a kid.

Depends how much money. This year I've really got to watch what I'm spending. ...However, if it is done through the sorority, we could put it in the budget. I wouldn't mind it being done that way.

Sorry I've been absent for a little while. My Granddad went downhill really fast. He passed away last night, and I haven't felt like getting on much. Not to mention that I'm uber busy with last-minute dry clean and shopping runs for France.

ah, I think I might have played that earlier this summer. Bah, dad is staying with us until he can get tickets to get back to Kyrgestan. Or until Sept. 7th, whichever comes first... And I'm leaving Thursday. I didn't get ANY time to de-tox from spending time with him in Florida. I really don't want him here these last few days. I kind of want to have everything a certain way when I get really stressed/anxious, and having him here distrupts my routine. Especially since he's on the couch when I usually want to watch TV, and has used my spot on the couch as his pillow spot. rargh.

Katie called for about a minute earlier today. She's in Paris for the week, and won't have internet access as it's just a fun weekend for museums and culture. Then she will be spending a week in a dorm in Riennes (or however it's spelled) before getting her host family.

So I got a score of 66k in the fangirl game. And didn't get my gold 'cause I had gotten logged out or something. Or at least I had to sign back in when I wanted to go to 'My Account' so I wouldn't ahve to search through the forums for Broken Ramune...

hey how has everyone been?

People!!! I miss people!!! But I'm having a great time in France!! I was in Paris for a three day orientation and yesterday was my first evening in Rennes when I got my host family! They're really nice. The dad is from Bolivia, so I kind of wish I also knew Spanish, and they have four kids. The boys (3) are older and don't live at the house anymore, and the girl is 16. She starts school next week, which is when I start my preprogramme. My actual classes don't begin until September 15th. And it's actually kind of difficult to type in English right now because I'm thinking in French. I think it has something to do with the fact that we aren't allowed to speak English unless necessary....

I also had my placement test this morning, which was pretty easy, actually. It's funny, even my French family, who I've only been around for about two evenings, thinks I'll be in avance, which is good because that means that I can take a real university class if I want to. But we'll find out. I don't have the determining oral exam until next week.

wow ami! congrats i wish i did one of those exchange programs school starts on monday for me im at your local comunity college though nothing special i couldnt afford it. im glad you like the family you are with =) i havent been on this thread in a bit so i miss everyone but ill miss you still anyway. so how is speaking in french going?

Speaking in French isn't too bad really. I've been taking it for 8 years and all my teachers tell me that I'm practically fluent (so I can speak just as fluently as someone in perhaps middle school there), but of course I understand more than I perhaps let on.

I understand the money thing. I'm going to a private college and the only way I'm able to attend it is through tons of scholarship money and my uncle, who paid for basically my whole year this year since both of my parents are basically without a job. The Peace Corps is basically volunteering and my Mom is without income until she completes the licensing process for KY.

What are you going to study?
