SunShine: I have several friends at school who are doing art therapy. UE is well known for it's therapy and art departments, as well as theater.

Dragon: Aww.... hope he feels better soon!

FakeSunShine 08-29-2009 02:11 PM

really where is this place?

dragon: im sorry to hear that what does he have o.o?

okamimyst 08-29-2009 02:27 PM

UE stands for the University of Evansville, and it's in Evansville, Indiana. Southern Indiana and the onlyh part on Central Time! The campus is really great, too. And it's small, and private, but they are really good with scholarships. They want people to go there, so if you need more money, tell them and they'll try and find a way to get it. It's great. Can you tell I love my school??

FakeSunShine 08-29-2009 02:32 PM

yes i can. well for now i will stay at my comunity college but please in 3 semesters remind me.

okamimyst 08-29-2009 07:17 PM

Ok! I'll do that!

So I've discovered that I like white wine more than I thought I did. At least as an apperatif, which I have no idea how to translate. It had Creme de Cassis in the bottom and then the white wine on top. Sorry, I can't really explain creme de cassis. It's a regional thing and I honestly have no clue what it is. But whatever it is, it's good with white wine.

FakeSunShine 08-29-2009 07:25 PM

ita alright

d2hiriyuu 08-29-2009 08:15 PM

I think he only has a cold, but I wish the best of him and not getting sick, though I think him staying and being bored probably isn't helping his health as much as I'd like.

FakeSunShine 08-29-2009 08:20 PM

i was never one to sit in the house when i was sick

psyrien 08-30-2009 01:55 PM

Meep. I missed a lot of conversation. See, this is what happens when school takes over my life. x_x

*throws candy at everyone*

okamimyst 08-30-2009 02:12 PM

I missed a chunk too due to being without internet in Paris.

Yum! Candy! **stuffs in her pocket. She's been having too much sugar lately. The French like their deserts.**

kasorin 08-30-2009 02:37 PM

Oooh candy.

That reminds me I have truffles in my -- no, I shall save them for a monster chocolate craving. As I am not going to be getting deserts since I'm trying to be good.

First real Harlaxton "breakfast" this morning. the bacon was much saltier than in the US, the hash browns were pretty good, but needed salt, and the eggs were worse than the Sodexho eggs. I swear, they were like pale yellow, warm, thick jello. Except not sweet. they didn't taste like anything.

Luckily though, it was "brunch" so they had the salad bar open, and some chunks of chicken that I stole to nom on. the vending machines (at least the soda one) by the boutique refused to take my pence. It spat the coins back out. Luckily, there's a machine in teh carraiage house were I live. Tango... I think it's like Fanta. And the brand name/logo and the flavor thingy, its upside down. But all the other text is right-side up.

Beh. Getting a sore throat. Which isn't good. It doesn't help that one of my roommates has just about lost her voice.

Anyway, pictures from the first two days (minus about 10) are on my facebook. I took a few today, but am going to wait to upload them until after I explore the woods somemore.

d2hiriyuu 08-30-2009 02:43 PM

awesome, my printer is being annoying, anyway, somewhat settled, I really shoudl clean and pick up my room and such, but I am lazy. Also I want a Mark over so I can paint and such, I am actualyl quite bored cause not much has started these days.

FakeSunShine 08-30-2009 04:13 PM

kas hope your not getting sick =D

okamimyst 08-30-2009 08:56 PM

Yeah....the vending machines are testy. If they spit your coins back, you have to keep putting them back in. Sometimes it can take a few minutes.... Forgot to warn you about that... I just didn't use them that much!

As for being sick, DRINK THE OJ!!! It may taste like Sunny D, but it helps fight off the perpetual cold that is Harlaxton!

I know what you mean, Dragon! I start the pre-program classes tomorrow, and I honsetly can't wait to start the real classes. But I have to wait another two weeks for that. Although I do find out my placement tomorrow morning, which is making me nervous......

OH!! Excited!!! I just watched L'auberge espagnole (The Spanish "Youth Hostel") with my host family on the TV and understood it!!! And there WEREN'T subtitles!!! Maybe I actually will make it into autonomie afterall..... We'll see tomorrow!! Anyway, I have to be downtown at 9, which means getting up at 7 so I can take a shower, eat breakfast and catch the bus to Place Sainte Anne by 8:15.

kasorin 08-30-2009 09:10 PM

Fine. I'll get OJ tomorrow at breakfast. At dinner tonight they had "roast potatoes" which are breaded and fried potatoes? Kinda like the wedges at KFC, only not wedges, chunks of potatoes and no seasoning. And we had ice cream, which my thoat liked. Why not shower at night? I do.

FakeSunShine 08-30-2009 09:18 PM

i love orange jiuce Xp

kasorin 08-31-2009 12:05 PM

Bleh. The OJ here tastes terrible. It's gross. And I even added a bit of water to it in an attempt to make it taste better. I failed, and it hurt so bad going down. My glands are swollen. They had chicken noodle soup today at lunch and I had a big bowl. With chips.

d2hiriyuu 08-31-2009 01:34 PM

curls up into a small ball. I need ot do a field trip, but I don't wanna. Other than that, one week down, many many to go.

okamimyst 08-31-2009 07:39 PM

kas: I took one in the morning because we have dinner at 8:00 and then I have to write in my journal and hang out a bit with the fam (which was watching L'auberge espagnole last night and Grease (in french) tonight). So, everything's a bit late to really take a shower at night. Mais ca va.... (It's okay).

Dragon: aww... you're already counting down the weeks??? That's not good! How's Mark doing? Is he feeling better?

kasorin 08-31-2009 08:00 PM

Ugh. My face hurts. Luckily one of my roomies bought Sudafed and I got to take one. Maybe my head will clear a bit before I have to go to sleep. Also am going to take bynadril so I will be knocked out all night. Swallowing water hurts. My thoart aches a bit when I am doing nothing, and at least one tonsil is swollen.

okamimyst 08-31-2009 08:50 PM

If it's really sore, you might want to go see the nurse. Strep throat gets around pretty easily at Harlaxton.

kasorin 08-31-2009 09:27 PM

It's not to bad. It's swollen tonsils, not strep. Strep would be worse, that's for sure. If it's not better Wednesday, then I'll go. I kidnapped another sudafed to take tomorrow morning with breakfast, and I have cough drops that are the non-burny kind. they taste kind of good actually. And I've been pumping my body full of fluids.

but this just goes to show you that taking vitamins doesn't prevent you from getting sick. I've been taking vitamins almost every day since december, certainly once summer started. The problem is, my meds and vitamins are big so it hurts to swallow them.

Anyway, once you get a mobile e-mail me. It'll probably be the same as it was for me - you have to call/text before you can receive. I also like how TalkMobile doesn't make you pay for texts/call you receive.

ooooh, tomorrow's September! New items!

FakeSunShine 09-01-2009 02:20 AM

everyone just isnt feeling that well... man i should make you guys soemthing =) even though it cant help being sick and tonsils

d2hiriyuu 09-01-2009 05:09 AM

FakeSunShine 09-01-2009 10:40 PM
