Does anyone else watch the Japanese drama, Hana Kimi?

It's one of my favorite television series, it's so cute. :) My favorite character is Sano, but Nakatsu and Kayashima are cool too. Ashiya of course is awesome though, can't hate the main character. :P

Oh also...if anyone knows and forums/websites that are good for Hana Kimi stuff can you tell me? All I can find are the Taiwanese drama ones. ^^"

Kadrias 12-03-2007 11:03 PM

Oooh, Hana-Kimi~! XD I've read the manga, but I haven't watched the drama yet. Sounds like its pretty good? :3

Katya 12-03-2007 11:04 PM

Yeah, I haven't read the manga but the drama was so cute...I wanted to see more at the end though, it's only about a 13 hour series. =/

In the Manga does Ashiya end up with Sano..? :P

Kadrias 12-03-2007 11:15 PM

Hnn, I'm not sure, because I haven't finished the series XD That, and I think the manga is still going, or at least it hasn't been fully released in english yet. o3o

It certainly seems to lean toward such an ending, though! ;D

And really? So short! :<

Katya 12-03-2007 11:18 PM

Yeah, it ends kinda openly, it suggests that Sano likes her but she then kinda leaves. Eh, they need to make a season two! D< XD

I'm going to go look around on websites and find out, maybe the Japanese manga found out? Maybe I do need to start reading. . .

Kadrias 12-03-2007 11:22 PM

Uweehh, really? xDD They certainly do, that leaves you hanging too much! XD

Haha, alrighty~ When you were watching the drama, were you able to find episodes with subtitles?

Katya 12-03-2007 11:39 PM

Yup, I watched it on Veoh too. They have some with subs and some without also for screenshots.

I love when Sano's drunk and kisses everyone, hehehe...best random thing ever! XD

Kadrias 12-03-2007 11:48 PM

Ahh, awesome, I'll probably watch it sometime soon, then! xD

Ahahah, yes XD That's like the most random thing someone could do when they're drunk.. XD

torhu_anime 12-14-2007 09:27 PM

oh hana kimi, i read the manga and i have the all volume of hana kimi in my computer, not only that i saw the hana kimi live action , taiwan version and japan version. i personally like the japan version so much better than the taiwan version but the taiwan version have more cute boy. ^-^

RainingLight 12-17-2007 01:50 AM

I've seen the Japanese drama from this spring, with Maki, Shun and Toma >3. It was pretty good ^__^ definitely one of my favourite series. I downloaded it from someone's livejournal, so I'm not really sure where you can stream it >_<. From your post, I guess you found it at Veoh ^^?

Hehe, personally, I like Nakatsu a bit more than Sano XD.

Fox 12-17-2007 08:20 PM

eep, I didn't know there was a Japanese drama to go along with it! I've only read the manga (and finished it), but I loved it xD T'was so cute! Now that I know that there's a drama for it, I think I'm going to have to go and look for it... >_>;;

suppi 12-19-2007 03:32 AM

GAH! I didn't know there was a thread on this. o__o
Well anyway....
I LOVE IT. <333 It's probably my favorite Japanese drama. n__n I found out about it from searching up Oguri Shun after watching Hana Yori Dango, and I found out he was acting in Hana Kimi... so I was like, "Oh, I'll check that out!" Then~~ I watched the first episode of it... and I really liked it. n__n Every week after that, I waited for more episodes. Hehe.

Even though that girl who portrayed the main character wasn't very... "guyish".. I still liked her acting, and she was the perfect match for Sano, in my opinion. xDD I love their relationship~ it's so cute! <33 I wish there was a second season. D:

Fox 12-20-2007 08:09 PM

... so I so did not go out and watch all of the Japanese drama version of Hana Kimi these past couple of days... >_>;; *cough* I have to agree--I thought Mizuki wasn't really boyish enough to be mistaken for one, but she was really cute and I liked her acting, so all was good ;D! I wanted to watch the Taiwanese version but I didn't like the main character's acting as much u_u I felt she overdid it way too often, but that's just my opinion xD;; Maybe I'll go check out Hana Yori Dango... *needs more dramas to watch* If anyone else knows of any good ones, ping me a message or something? ^w^ <33

torhu_anime 12-20-2007 08:57 PM

yea, i watch it, i watch the taiwan version too and i have all the manga on my computer. I really like Maki-Maki cause i think she is very pretty and look and act better then Ella in the Taiwan version. i like both version but i like the japanese version better and not only that but i like the Taiwan boy, the japanese boy are cute but i think the taiwan boy look cuter and i really like Wu Zun (i dont remember how to spell his name, only his face T_T)the boy in the Farenheit are cute

i know that i shouldn't say this but this is the thirh time that i post something for hana kimi. i wonder where the other went.

clock 12-20-2007 08:58 PM

Ah, Hana-kimi. <3 I read the manga and then watched the show.
I even got my bf to watch it. ;D! I liked Sano better than
Nakatsu because like Ashiya thought, Nakatsu is more of
a 'good friend' type. Sano is more like the boyfriend type. xD

Anyways, the girl who played Ashiya is also in this series
called Nobuta wo Produce. I highly recommend it if you
haven't yet seen it. o___o;

A i 12-22-2007 11:09 AM

omg, thats my top 10 drama of all! i loveee Nakatsu a.k.a Ikuta Toma, he's soo cuuteee >w<
its sad that he didnt get Ashiya...

i hope there'll be next season, showing them in Ashiya's place ^^ where is it again, i forgot..L.A?..california?..cant remember XD

Yeah, I watched it on Veoh. :P

I agree with the Mizuki not looking like a boy though--although she could pass as like how some guys are when they're younger...I mean, some boys can look pretty feminine until they're in late teens so maybe...but yeah, I would be wondering about that if I was in her dorm. XD

MidnightRun 12-23-2007 10:24 PM

I prefer the Taiwanese version because I'm half Taiwanese. XD Well, that's not the main reason, because I think that Ella is really funny. XD

At first, my fav was Wu Zun [I forgot his character's name. o.o] but then I started to like Jiro [forgot his character too XD] more! :P

"I'M NOT GAY!" XD

When I watched it with one of my friends, she laughed almost every other second.

Then I watched it with another friend, and she laughed at every part my other friend didn't! >.< Lmao.

After I finished Hana-Kimi, I started watching It Started With A Kiss because Jiro's in it. XD
It was during the summer though so because of school, I didn't finish it. DX

I'm looking foward to the second season in 2008!
I've never read the manga version though.

RainingLight 12-24-2007 12:39 AM

@A i - Yeah, the story ended with it being in California XD. I hope there will be a SP ^__^, or even better, season 2 >w<!

I concur with 'clockwork: Nobuta wo Produce was an awesome drama XD (other than the fact that my favourite person, Yamapi, is in it). Maki also acted in Kurosagi with Yamapi ^^.

d2hiriyuu 12-24-2007 07:53 AM

Hana Kimi was a great anime. I really want to see the drama. The extra part with California was awesome, and thought there was a marriage part at the end that was a special...I forgot. It's been so long since reading all 23 books.

ore wa homo janai! kekeke, i love the dance that he did wearing those...girls stuff XD

LilDuckiez 01-10-2008 12:38 AM

I watched the Taiwan version and the Japanese version. :] Both of them are very interesting. But the japan version has a better ending than the Taiwan one.

SPOILERS
Japan Ending: The main guy kisses the girl when she leaves to America. <3

torhu_anime 02-20-2008 09:32 PM

the Japan version is so awesome but i like the boys in that Taiwan version more, i think the boys in the taiwan version is cute because i really like Jiro and Danson and Wu Zun. But i didn't like Ella as the main character much though i do like her songs.I like Miki for the role more, she prettier but then i like the both. The boys in the japan version is cute too but i still like the boy in the taiwan better.
Both version are funny some part of the series, one is better then the other but i think i like both. though there are some part that i like more the the other.

rampartte 02-23-2008 11:47 PM

Wah I'm a huge Hana Kimi fan! I have read the full manga and watched both of the thai live action drama of it and the japanese version live action drama.

A lot of people say they prefer the japanese version because it is so sentimental and sweet and the actors in it are great, but in reality the thai version actually follows the manga much closer to the letter. Plus I find Elle acting in it very cute!

I don't think the japanese drama focuses as much on Mizuki's troubles pretending to be a girl at an all guy's school, and focuses much more on her determination towards helping and loving Sano.

Plus Nakatsu really starts believing he is gay in the manga and I like how he decides to be much more open about it in the thai version unlike the japanese version where he is always acting very confused and never seems to come out and say it. But then again I have to follow what the subtitles give me and they aren't always translated 100% correct. XD So who knows. It is part of the funny plot of Hana Kimi!

I really love all three versions, but I believe both are still up on crunchyroll with subtitles, so you could watch it there if you are looking.

Takuto 02-24-2008 02:00 AM

I'm a huge fan of the Manga series.
I haven't seen the drama yet, but it's probably as interesting. :D. [/url]
