I know a lot of people who like to be drunk 3 times a week . . . I usualy play the DD role XP sometimes it sux because I can't drink and other times It's realy nice because I have a reason to say no when they want to get me plastered. I like to drink but I only do it mabie once a month. I usualy have acsess to alcohol but I dont find it nessisary to always be plowed.

I totally agree. I'm 18 (legal here) and I dont really plan on ever getting 'wasted' or 'plastered' or 'blind'.
I dont see the point, if you truly can't remember what happened to you, the next day, then surely that means you've done damage to your brain, not to mention your liver >< I like my brain cells! I've been quite tipsy before, from almost 6 'standard' drinks in a few hours (Cruiser Blacks =D, but I remember more about that night than my friend who didn't touch a drop lol (I would have had the last cruiser -inthe4pack- but I was already nearly falling over,lol) I dont see anything wrong with having a few drinks to ease an awkward atmosphere, or liven up a few people. But personally I dont need alcohol to have fun, its not the basis for my gatherings, my ex-school friends hardly drink anyway. |
I got buzzed once when I ordered a drink called Mojito and drank it too fast. It gave me a headache, and that was when I understood that I got buzzed. I didn't do any embarrassing things, save for telling everybody about it. I've never been totally plastered, though, and hopefully, I never will.

Most of the time if you get a headache from drinking it just means you don't drink enough water and you are dehydrating yourself . . . and thats not very smart and realy you shouldn't blame that on the alcohol |

I never liked the idea of getting drunk, it's disappointing to know that people have so less self-control. My sister always goes out to birthday parties with her friends, and they constantly talk about getting buzzed and all that shit, here I am listening in and going, "Give me an effing break!" I thought we were past the whole, drinking is fun when you're not legal thing. -_- I'm not legal to drink, but I treat alcohol as any other drink, and I don't really find it that good, my first time trying vodka was okay, cause that stuff tasted pretty good, but beer? Man. <_< |

Yes, the completely and totally shitfaced can't stand up straight what's your name kind of drunk. I used to drink A TON. I would do it whenever I felt bad, since getting drunk made me feel better. Then one day I realized... OH SHIT, I'M GOING TO BE IN ALCOHOLIC IN APPROXIMATELY TWO GOD DAMN WEEKS! Plus, I'm on pills, and alcohol fucks with them. Now I won't say that I don't drink, but only on very rare occasions. I haven't actually gotten drunk in MONTHS. I feel so proud of myself! :D It's a real accomplishment for me. I have a terribly hard time saying no to alcohol. It's my weakness. Which... is why I try to avoid it, as I'd like to not be addicted. And I don't drink with people I don't really know anymore. Because I tend to get.. stupid... And do things like.. make out with my best friend's boyfriend.. O_O And jump around topless singing Numa Numa. Fun times? XD I'm not sure if that was or not. That's my rant of the day. :D |
This once I was at a friend's house and we all drank a whole bunch -- Strawberry daiquiri, then cherry pepsi mixed with rum. I didn't really get drunk, but I acted like it because I like making people laugh? xD; Maybe it's because I found it amusing myself :3
In all honesty, I really don't like the taste of alcohol -- like, any of it xD; My relatives have tried so hard, and this thing with my friends. I'm allowed alcohol at family events -- wine is just disgusting and burn-y -- I can't make myself like it at all xD; And liquor is just the same way. It's something I'll drink, but I secretly think it's quite a bit disgusting. ^___^; I refuse to even try beer >.>; Smell is supposed to be, like, 90% of what you taste, and the smell of beer makes me gag xD;;; I'm seventeen, by the way ^__^; I can't remember if the drunk episode with my friends happened this year or last year when I was sixteen (maybe I was drunk xD; ) -- But my family has officially let me drink since Christmas of 2006 ^__^; |
I just hate alcohol of any type.
Wine, beer, etc. I think it tastes awful. I mean, pure awful. The bitterness and it's just..weird. I'd prefer juice/pop, really. Or coffee. =P |

Reading some of the other posts on this forum, I am of the opinion that my family's drinking practices when it comes to age is just a titch more liberal than most. But then again, I'm Canadian, and the drinking age there is actually 19. Not to mention in my mid teens I lived in England, where the drinking age is... a myth. lol. I s#$% you not, at the age of 16, my high school (rather the british equivalent of high school) teachers would take us out on house trips to get off our faces. I suppose the advantage was that they could chaperone us and make sure none of us did anything too stupid.
Truth be told, I don't see what the big deal is about drinking to get drunk. I mean, obviously it's not healthy to do it ALL the time, and certainly not more than special occasions allow. But you know, there's no harm in cutting loose every now and then with a group of friends and just having a fun, good old fashioned smash-o-rama. Most of the time though, there's no need to get carried away. Couple drinks is more than enough for me! Underage drinking though? That would really depend on where you live. Certainly, it's not viewed the same overseas as it is here. In England, if youre at least 15, you can hang around in the bar, and someone else can buy you a drink. But at the same time, I see how people in the States can get a bit nervous about it. Putting 15 year olds behind the wheels of cars seems dangerous enough to me, without letting them drink as well ^^ |
I drink sometimes. Usually only 1-2 times per year, usually on a holiday.

I love alcohol. In all it's forms. There is so much variety, so many different combinations and concoctions it's mind-boggling!
I often drink, but very rarely get drunk. I am over the legal drinking age, but I have drank since I was very young. Wine has always been a vital part of my family's culture. I have never once seen a family member get intoxicated. I have a large collection of different alcohols and wines. I am not as big of a fan of beers, although I do drink them on occasion. I'm actually drinking right now, a lovely cabernet sauvignon I picked up a few months ago at a wine tasting. Windy Ridge, a California vintage, 2002. It has a powerful, floral bouquet with fruity overtones. It is aromatic and absolutely enchanting. Sweet enough to drink alone, but not so much that I'd call it a dessert wine. In the future I'd likely pair it with cheese and fruit or maybe a light seafood dish. |
I don't think I can get drunk on beer. Or much of anything. I think it's because I don't like it. I don't enjoy the taste, so I drink it slowly. A sip or two at a time, so by the time I've actually finished a drink, I've essentially already sobered up. I got a little tipsy once. But that might have just been dizziness. My friend thought I was drunk too, but I really don't think I was. I wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary for me. Okay, I was talking to people. That's weird for me. But that was it.

When I was ten, I got hyper on a teeny weeny glass of wine on Christmas :3 I took some because I saw how happy my mum was when she had a glass so yah :3 That was my first and last experience with alcohol though :3 My father is Muslim and I've decided to follow his religion and drinking alcohol is against our religion xDD

[Dae is underage] I have really had no reason to drink and frankly, don't put myself in the situation where my peers would pressure me to do so. Most of my friends don't drink, and the ones that do know better than to pressure me.
Also, I think people who drink to get drunk need to get help -.-; Edit: Also, when you hear people puking their guts out in the bathroom from drinking too much.... definitely a turn off to alcohol... |

I've been drunk a LOT. And I only just recently turned the drinking age here. (19.) W/e. It's part of being a teenager. It's fun to let my hair down every once in a while. My personal favourite is a nice, light local beer. Amsterdam Blonde is fantastic. So is Steam Whistle. I love local beers because they're always crisp and fresh on tap, and they're usually cheaper :3 I also love black rum & diet Coke. Mmm. I don't like coolers or shooters. Bleh. Too sweet for me, they make me sick to my stomach. |
I've tried wine, some sort of crappy pina colada from a bottle, and sniffed one of the hard liquors.
I don't think I'll ever be able to drink alcohol. Unless it tastes like chocolate. ^^ |

OMG so lucky! I wish it was the last day for me. 2nd semester is about to end. But I have never been drunk. My birthday is Tuesday and I'm throwing a party with me and my closest friends, that might be my first time getting drunk. :3
