@Gnomesquid:
That's an unfortunate situation. You could always try making more friends offline by joining different activities or taking up different hobbies - and just like for web sites, if you don't like one social circle, you can just ditch them and find another one! (As callous as that sounds, lol) I have a Facebook, but I barely ever use it. I'm careful not to put any compromising information on my Facebook. I know that my girlfriend's boss has rejected a job application before based on inappropriate pictures he found on Facebook, so it's definitely wise not to go hog-wild on Facebook. |

I go to a school with only 38 kids, grades 5-12. Not only are there that few kids, but I'm in 9th grade, and tend to be friends with people older than me. You're grouped into classes that you do everything with, so everyone else is just friends with kids in their class, but I'm in the class with all juniors and seniors, so they spend all of their time crying about their boyfriends and stuff. And I switched into it in the middle of the year, so they were already friends. The two kids that I am friends with, one of them I carpool with, and the other one used to be in my class at the beginning of the year, and he would always defend me when kids were being mean, so I started sitting with him in study hall so now we're friends. As for activities, it is my school's first year, so the only real activity is the basketball team that has one game every other month. I'm horrible at basketball, and spend the whole time getting hit on the head with it, not knowing what to do. You can edit posts, right? Because I have to go somewhere so I'll finish this later. |
Yeah, I love Facebook. It's interactive and can be a lot of fun, much better than Myspace in my opinion... which basically means that anything is better than myspace. But yeah. As for all those applications errors, I think there's another app that blocks certain ones for you; not that it matters to me, I just ignore all those apps unless my friends bother me later about it. Chances are that when I apply for college I'm going to be hiding my facebook as well as possible. xD |
True that, when college and work time comes, Facebook should disappear from my life. Wouldn't want my superiors to check out what is happening there. >_>

I have a facebook i think its pretty cool cuz they hav all kinds of applications......
Its FUn |
Ah, I am more known on Facebook than here, that's for sure. I use it to update my friends that aren't on LJ how things are going (I basically have a link to it there through an app) then I have the gaming shelf where friends of mine and I discuss the video games we like... what else needs to be said?

Facebook.
I have a Myspace and a Facebook, and I can say I definitely prefer Facebook. Though I don't go on either very often. I mainly have them for keeping up with friends. Especially the Myspace, because I have some friends who go on Myspace and leave me comments and stuff, but are never on AIM. Of course, I'm almost never on Myspace, so it doesn't help that much. XD But I get on every once in a while. Facebook is better though, being that it's mostly students on it, plus all the little applications they have make it more entertaining. I especially like the food fight one, I love picking out food to throw at my friends. XD And of course Gaia OMG. And the garden and fishtank ones are awesome too.

Ive got a facebook, cos I got an invite to join, but yeah, soon got bored of it, the apps are annoying as hell, and I was more annoyed when I tried to delete my account there.
So I just use Myspace. Most of my friends are there and its just a brill way to stay in touch and meet new peeps. I dont get why you all prefer Facebook, myspace has videos, music, blogs, forums plus all of the features of facebook. Its even added the whole application thing recently too. And for those with privacy problems, myspace has an option to set your profile to private. So yeah, its like facebook on steriods lol |
I have a facebook. I think someone invited me to join awhile back, so eventually I did. I don't do much on it, but I prefer the feel to that of myspace (I briefly had a myspace, it might even still be in existence).
The email notifications don't bother me, but I don't have many friends to leave me messages so I guess that would be why! heh. |
I have facebook but I don't go on it religiously like some people, I check it maybe once a day just to check my alerts and all that so they don't build up. I only got it because my sister's wanted me to.
I will admit that there are some good things about it. Because of facebook I have been able to get in contact with friends I have not seen in years and had no other way to contact. |
