Hmm -- I usually have to wear heels because I'm too lazy and poor to buy flats appropriate for my work xD; I work in a department store -- so I wear heels at least once or twice a week now. For a while, it was BLOODY painful. Like, toe numbing sort of pain. >.>; I guess I'm sort of used to it now, and it makes me feel a little bit... pretty? xD But it's not too comfy, and I'm not very graceful. >.>;

I especially hate walking in heels on pine needles or asphalt >.>; There are just NO TREADS, and I have a pretty brisk pace xD; So I fall on my ass 9/10 times. >_<; I did that today, walking home -- xD; It's like watching somebody walk on ice, watching me walk down the street in heels xD; My hands were constantly over my head as I tried to keep my balance~ ^_^;

They can be very pretty though :3 I sort of like them ;3

THAT WAS EPIC. It's like. If you can't walk in those overrated, gaudy ass heels, then don't try. xD I mean really. If you want to practice, good. But if you're doing it just for..the hellovit on TV..theeeen..no.

I have a pair of brown shoes that are DEFINITELY closed toed. They have a large wedge heel on the back and they're very comfortable. My mom bought them for me to wear to my aunt's wedding because I needed shoes to match mah dress.

I cannot walk in ANY kind of heel. They're just pests and I find moccasins a much better shoe than a heel.

The way she fell the second time was hilarious.The way the anchors laughed was very unprofessional, but then again I would have been doing the same thing.

Hmm, for me, I love to walk in heels, problem is I rarely get a chance too.I feel weird walking in flat shoes.One day I might wear stilettos, but I hope that such an occasion doesn't arise too often, for I hate the thought of them getting stuck in small crevices such as sidewalks.

I think they do look nice on certain people.Others I can't understand why they are wearing them in the first place. They can sometimes be a confidence booster for some people in certain settings.Usually only if the person is comfortable wearing them.

My favorite shoes are actually my 3" heel boots ^_^ I love the feel, look, and being 3" taller. Honestly, they make me feel sexy. I don't have trouble walking in any of my heel shoes save for one pair. They involve a 4" (nearly) stiletto heel. Its not so much trouble balancing but the fact that the top part of the shoe digs into my instep right above my toes.

I guess the best way to get used to heels without wearing them a lot is to work on your balance altogether. I was in ballet for a long time and needed to practice a lot on balance in that, and I think all that time on my toes helped prepare me for when I bought my first heeled shoes. At least it helped with walking, running in heels can only be perfected with practice actually running in them.

That model's probably had some very soar ankles after that second fall. Ankles aren't supposed to move like that ><

I can walk in heels fine, but I usually get blisters so I avoid it whenever possible.

If I absolutely have to wear them somewhere, like to a wedding or something, I make sure to take an extra pair of shoes and leave them in the car.

Black Phoenix Risen 12-10-2007 03:43 AM

I, personally, hate high heels.
I'm always in tennis shoes, or high tops.
Or really big clunky shoes.

I never wear high heels, especially after I fell down a flight of stairs in them.
It hurt. T-T

So that's why I never wear high heels anymore, to reduce personal injury to myself.

I completely FAIL at walking in heels.

For graduation, however, we were sorta required to get nice black shoes. Thus, I started my shoe hunt in the fall. At christmas I found these lovely little black heels that were COMFORTABLE. That baffled me to no end, and so my mother bought them for me. xD ...now, I started walking lessons then since I could barely stand without clutching something for dear life.

I wore them to prom in the spring and could somewhat stumble around. There was definitely NO dancing for me (not that I really would've danced anyways). xD

And I could still only hobble about at graduation. Right after the ceremony, I took the shoes off and ran about in the grass while I was giving out leis (strings of flowers, it's a hawaii tradition). Of course, I had forgotten about my stockings. My mother scolded me afterwords for getting them dirty. xD

I love, love, love heels. You need to make sure you buy pump pads and stuff to put in the toes of your shoe to make them more comfortable, make sure they fit you right and by god make sure they have a good ankle strap!

I prefer heeled boots because they give a lot of support to the ankle.

I don't feel right wearing flats almost ever. I need even a low heel.

And walking in them is great for your ass and thighs.

Smellerbee 12-10-2007 04:32 AM

Edit.

Gush 12-10-2007 04:36 AM

luckily i've never had to walk in heels.

That 'walk like you own the place' is basically how models are supposed to walk, no matter what happens. You can't exactly run off the stage in tears because you fell down, especially if you're a professional model (which I'm pretty sure she had to be if I heard the news anchor correctly).

8bit Girls Bravo 12-10-2007 03:27 PM

Honestly? Heels aren't THAT hard to walk in. And yeah, they're painful sometimes, but that generally means that you need to buy better shoes. They take a bit of practice, and you do need to learn to change your walk, but it really only takes a few hours to master.

I'm not wearing heels lately because it's winter and I don't want to ruin my nice shoes by slipping and falling on the ice or whatever, but in the summer I wear heels a lot. I love the way they look when a woman has nice, muscular legs.

I also love the feeling of being taller. I mean, I'm 5'8" already, but I'd love to be even taller~

Man, now I want to wear my heels today :( But it's also waaay too cold~
I should buy a pair of sexy heeled boots ... >D

Calero 12-10-2007 08:49 PM

I have no skills in it,I do not wear heels since im a guy but i ahev tried it once when i was messing around...its not very hard but i have really good balance so that just be that

Katya 12-10-2007 09:56 PM

I like heels, I think they can look very nice with about anything but they CAN be painful if you don't get good ones or if you don't know how to walk in them. I personally don't wear heels all that often so I walk a bit awkwardly but if I wore them more often I'm sure it wouldn't be that hard to do.

mewmew07 12-10-2007 09:56 PM

I only wear like two inches heels. Not very high, so it's pretty easy to walk. I tried walking in a pair of my mom's old high heels, which were probably three or four or even higher. It was kind of hard, though I didn't fall over.

Lxylia 12-11-2007 02:03 AM

I like heels, they're lovely but I HATE wearing them, I've terrible balance so I rarely wear heels, I like those that are short in height and isn't thin ^^;

StarBlazerM31 12-11-2007 02:49 AM

I personally dislike high heels. I'm a plus size, so high heels and I do not get along. Just watching women walk in heels makes my ankles hurt.

Bunnyy 12-11-2007 05:37 AM

  • They are pretty but wearing them is ... Urrgh . XD;
    But I have this pair of black heals and they are actually quite comfortable . o.o

    I got my first pair of high heels last year when I was 13 . x3

Mystrelia 12-11-2007 08:16 AM

Absolutely not anymore! When I was young (think back about 30 years) I wore heels quite a lot. During that time I was in a job where I was on my feet in an office at least half the day. I then discovered how much more comfortable lower shoes were and never went back to the heels. I'd probably kill myself now if I tried heels. :oops:

Penny 12-11-2007 09:17 AM

I inadvertently figured out how to walk in heals while learning Irish step dance. It's really just walking on your toes with sticks on your heals.

Aeisha 12-11-2007 10:05 AM

I can't wear high heels at all because I have strange feet and if I was to wear them I would fall over within seconds. Plus it is painful to wear high heels. I had to wear a small heel for my formal and my feet were hurting within only two hours.
I don't find falling in heels funny since chances are whoever was wearing them hurt themselves in the process and those news reporters where horrible for teasing her about it. I doubt any of them have had to walk down a run way while swinging their hips and not looking down while keeping their balance.

life in red and black 12-28-2007 11:58 PM

Me: Yay! I'm tall now!
(a few seconds later)
*crash*
(a few minutes later)
Me: These heels are killing me! Why are they so heavy? T_T

Yea... I don't like high heels, and it's embarrassing to walk in them.

Those ladies who stand in them all day long. Let's give them a round of applause. *claps* No idea how they can stand it. It's like having a pole jabbed into your heel XP and all your weight on your toes.

maxiekun 12-29-2007 12:00 AM

I'll never wear heels. :3

MasterChiefrei 12-29-2007 12:10 AM

I've never liked high heels, even as a lil girl. In fact I was the biggest tom boy to have ever plagued my mom. XD She really wanted to me to be girly, have tea parties, dress up all the time, and yada yada...instead I wore shorts, t's, ran/jumped/climbed trees, walls, anything with a ledge. XD But when I got into high school choir we had to really dress up *in grade/junior school they didn't care to much what we looked like* and look nice. So thus heels were mandatory for concerts. ><; Thing is I can walk, run, and jump in high heels too. My trick is I just walk on my toes/ball of my foot and don't worry about the heel. I still don't like them but I can manage...the thing is they hurt like a mo' fo. ><; I prefer skater and tennis shoe any day over heels of any kind.

aimi sakuko 12-29-2007 12:52 AM

i dont have any high heels at all..not even one..though i do have the interest in wearing them someday..but just not now =)
