Aidan cooed some, as best as he could, to show his contentment from the attention he received.

"Did you have a good breakfast?" he asked, pretending to be oblivious to what he had witnessed.

"I just explored. You see things from a new perspective when you're equipped with wings."

Tetsumiro 02-01-2008 07:48 PM

Theodore smiled still and nodded. "Surprisingly, yes. It wasn't so bad." He replied as he leaned back some, his fingers still stroking over his feathered companion's soft feathers.

"It must be so interesting to fly and see from above us all." He mused softly, looking down at Aidan with that gentle smile. He hadn't been this happy since they left, he just couldn't stop smiling.

ToriKat 02-01-2008 09:38 PM

Aidan watched that smile and the light in his eyes.

He was sad.

"Yeah," he responded emptily. Sloane hopped on and rubbed against him, knocking him over thanks to his preoccupation with Theodore's happiness.

Aidan should be glad for him. He knew it. But he was jealous...and he wished he had died after all. His silence was prominent.

Tetsumiro 02-01-2008 09:54 PM

Theodore was about to say something when Sloane hopped up and knocked Aidan right over, sending him into a small fit of giggles.

The boy picked his feathered friend up so gently, careful not to mess his feathers up or hurt his wings any before letting Aidan perch on his bare hand again--it still didn't hurt. Suddenly, he twirled with Aidan. He could hear the music from his home in his head still, the soft tone of his father's violin and it made him want to dance all over again, especially with Aidan. Even if he didn't have a human form, he was still capable of being his dance partner... in a sense.

Quietly, the albino youth sang a song that went with his father's playing, humming some of the tune. He had a sweet little voice, soft like an angel's whisper perhaps. He was being quiet--he didn't want anyone else to hear but Aidan and perhaps little Sloane, stepping around the kitten as he moved, chuckling some. Sloane wanted to play too it seemed, getting under his feet as he weaved around them.

ToriKat 02-01-2008 09:58 PM

Aidan clutched about Theodore's fingers gently, scared of slicing him with his talons, but enjoying the dizzy dance nevertheless. He bobbed some to the music the boy produced from his soft lips.

This was fun.

Tobias knocked upon the door to invite the boy to a quick lunch before training.

Tetsumiro 02-01-2008 10:04 PM

Theodore trailed off in song when there was knocking at his door, smiling gently at Aidan before he kissed his feathered cheek. "I'll be back later, Aidan." He murmured so softly, petting him before allowing him to return to the sill, or wherever he'd like.

The boy opened the door to Tobias, smiling at him still as well and closing the door gently behind him as he stepped out to go out with the man for their lunch and training. "Good afternoon." He greeted with that soft voice.

ToriKat 02-01-2008 10:54 PM

Aidan stayed upon the bed. He still had his powers...what little of them were left...he could've helped!

Instead he bundled up to nap. He was attempting to retain as much of his human nature. But it was becoming a greater struggle to ward away the falcon mind.

Tobias led the boy to the courtyard. It was open and free from people beyond a few servants using it as a shortcut to the destinations.

"Time to start controlling what you have."

Tetsumiro 02-01-2008 11:00 PM

Theodore had figured it'd be safer to leave Aidan for the time being--after all, it wasn't everyday someone saw a falcon who could conjure up a fireball! He didn't want to give away their secret.

He looked around a moment when they reached the courtyard, taking it all in. He'd never seen most of his surroundings so clearly before, it was quite fascinating to him! He brought his gaze back to Tobias when he was spoken to, nodding a little. "Ah.. Alright." He replied, a little nervous. Just how did he do that anyway?

ToriKat 02-01-2008 11:35 PM

"I want you to visualize the flames where you want them." Tobias showed him what he meant by extending his arm, palm up, and staring slightly above his palm. Flickers gradually transformed into flames licking at the air. Backing away from the boy and raising the ball of fire from his own hand - he wasn't quite as tolerant of flames as Aidan was - the mage allowed it to shoot up into a column before vanishing into the air.

"It takes a little concentration. You'll have to mold it with your mind like you would a ball of dough. Just don't overdo it else you'll strain yourself."

Tetsumiro 02-01-2008 11:55 PM

Theodore watched and listened, like any good student would. He didn't take his eyes off of what Tobias was showing him, studying the man and the flames before he was let on his own to try.

The boy reached his hand out before him, away from Tobias just in case and he calmed his nerves before allowing himself to concentrate on controlling his power. There was a small flicker of flames, but they only lasted a moment before going out. He made himself focus a little more and they returned, slowly rolling into a ball of flame before settling and flickering like the fire of a lit candle.

He held it a moment in it's place before allowing it to mimic Tobias' flame, nearly losing it as he got it to column. He had so much power, once he started to release some of it, it all wanted out. It was like it had a mind of its own and really didn't want to be tamed. It flickered out before it could flare, Theodore pouting slightly. He was determined to get control over this.

ToriKat 02-02-2008 05:04 AM

"Good. Now you just need practice. The thing is, once your head begins to ache, you need to stop. Drink some water and have a seat." Tobias smiled. "If your fires go out of control...then..." From the sky, he brought a light drizzle. After stopping it, he started his more trickier skill, raising the moisture up and away from Theodore's clothing to prevent from him catching a chill.

Tetsumiro 02-02-2008 05:35 AM

Theodore looked up to the sky as the drizzle came, smiling softly as the water ran over his face. He gave a soft giggle as Tobias took the moisture from his clothes, a bit glad. He didn't want to catch cold.

He waited a moment before he focused again, forming another ball of fire over his palm. It came faster this time, and it grew faster. He had to use all of his concentration to control it, his hold slipping on the power and he gasped as the fireball suddenly exploded. It didn't get to go anywhere however, a wall of fire shooting up in protection for the two of them and it absorbed the blast before suddenly flickering out.

Theodore held his head, furrowing his brow. It hurt, throbbing after that stunt. "Agh.."

ToriKat 02-02-2008 06:19 AM

Tobias walked over to the boy and cradled his cheeks in his hands. "You're warm," he commented. "Let's have a seat." He held his hand and led him to the stones surrounding a bed of exotic flowers, cultivated by botanists with a magical touch. Sitting down, he stretched out his long legs.

Tetsumiro 02-02-2008 06:32 AM

Theodore breathed out as his cheeks were touched, and he let him lead him over to the flowers, settling beside Tobias. He calmed himself and finally leaned against Tobias after a moment. "The flowers.. they're beautiful." He murmured gently.

ToriKat 02-02-2008 07:16 AM

Tobias nodded. "This one...this one is my favorite." He touched the flower's petals gently, pulling the colors up from the shadows of another plant. "It never fails to make me smile. It was my mother's favorite."

Tetsumiro 02-02-2008 07:23 AM

Theodore looked at the pretty bloom, smiling even more. He was starting to cool down, relaxing a bit more as he remained against the man. "My mother.. she said her favourite flower were iris'. She liked their purples when she was younger--before she went blind."

ToriKat 02-02-2008 07:39 AM

"You were afflicted with the same curse as your mother?" Tobias murmured. He continued, teasing playfully, "I think I like her...she has good taste in colors."

Tetsumiro 02-02-2008 07:49 AM

"Yes... I'm the only one of my brother's though." His smile faded faintly at the teasing. "I think.. you would have. Everyone liked her.. but she's gone now. She died... just before Aidan took me away from there." He quieted, and closed his eyes, keeping himself calmed. He'd cried enough over her death that no tears fell, but the thought still tortured him that he couldn't save her before.

ToriKat 02-02-2008 07:56 AM

Tobias regretted bringing up the topic. His arms wound around the boy, pulling him against him. He rubbed his back slowly.

"I'm sorry for your loss...It's okay if you want to cry. It was hard for me to get over my mother's passing..."

Tetsumiro 02-02-2008 07:58 AM

"May.. May I ask how she passed?" He asked quietly, wrapping his arms around Tobias hesitantly. He didn't cry but he relaxed with the man rubbing his back, sighing out slowly. That felt good.

ToriKat 02-02-2008 08:12 AM

Tobias felt through Theodore's hair idly. "My hamlet was attacked. That was the first time I used my magics...to defend myself...to save my own life."

Tetsumiro 02-02-2008 08:23 AM

Theodore frowned a little. "I wish.. Mine had let itself known earlier. Bandits.. attacked my mom and I at home. She couldn't go in the sun.. and they dragged her out. I couldn't stop.. them. She suffered.. for so long." He started crying again--he'd never gotten it out verbally to anyone, now he felt like there was even more he could have done--he hated that he couldn't have saved her in time.

ToriKat 02-02-2008 08:31 AM

"It's not your fault. I couldn't save my family either. It just got to the point where I had to save my own skin that it revealed itself."

From a distance, Aviar's members of the court had witnessed Theodore's fire play. They hurried to the gardens to spin their witness accounts before the others.

Tetsumiro 02-02-2008 08:49 AM

Theodore rubbed at his face as he leaned back a little, trying to rid himself of his tears. He was a little ashamed to be crying so much still, even if Toby had told him he could.

ToriKat 02-02-2008 09:25 AM

Prince Aviar watched the trickling of waters spilling over the rocks in the small, calm waterfall. The ambiance was ruined by the shoving and stomps of his court. Sighing, he rose to address them and receive their accounts.

Tobias dried the rest of the tears falling down Theodore's face.
