The prince opened the door himself, a mix of the same shock and disgust upon his face as he looked at Theodore. Taking the baby from him, he laid him on his shoulder. His eyes laid upon the boy after feeling over the infant's back.

"I'll make sure Aidan doesn't die again thanks to you." He shut the door before Theodore could respond.

Tetsumiro 02-29-2008 07:08 AM

Theodore looked shocked by those words and he brought a hand to his chest, swallowing thickly. He frowned and debated leaving again but instead, knocked on the other boy's door. He was going to be persistant. At least if it got him locked up again, he didn't have a lot to get out for anymore.

Aviar set Aidan down upon his bed before he went to open the door once more. "What do you want?"

Frustrated by their failed attempts against the mages and the small group they desired to kill on their way to Caer Elise, the Raiders turned away from the Prince's castle for now. They were headed to the city. They wanted to burn fields. They wanted to devastate the life that was there and allow bodies to rot in stagnant waters.

The rider upon the destrier led the group to the fields where Theodore's family worked. Once his blade was removed from the sheath, they took theirs out in unison. They were going to save their magic for later. Their hands would be bloodied today.

The Raiders cut down their first few victims, causing many to flee in panic. They pursued them, their thunderous war horses trampling upon the crops the farmers spent generations laboring upon. Before they approached their next group, Arturo and Deodar, those assigned to Theodore's hometown stepped in. Badly outnumbered, they still fueled each other's powers with hopes of driving the Raiders back as the infantry handled the other Raiders in the town.

Theodore looked at him and inhaled softly before speaking. "I need to speak with you... Please?"

The brothers looked up when the screams first started and people began to run in their panic. Dominic was the first to yell for the youngest boys to run for any safety they could find, the older men and brothers grabbing any rakes, hoes and shovels they had near them to try and fight to protect their home.

Their father was caught up in the battle in the town, James and Timothy joining him from the fields, running as fast as they could.

Dominic, Thomnas and Vincent tried to stay out of the mages' way but help them at the same time--most of the boys in the village were good at fighting, they didn't have much else to do during the off season of their farming, though they didn't have anything as destructive as the weapons the Raiders wielded.

Aviar glanced at Aidan to make sure the infant hadn't rolled around the plush bed and to the edge of the bed to make a fatal fall upon the carpeted, yet stone, floor.

"Make it quick."

Tetsumiro 02-29-2008 08:09 AM

"I want to help against the Raiders. And.. If it's possible, I want to give Aidan his sight back." The young elemental replied, his voice unwavering. He wasn't going to back down.

ToriKat 02-29-2008 08:17 AM

Aviar narrowed his eyes.

"You don't serve me or my kingdom. Why do I care what you do?" He was young and still bitter over how Theodore actually tried to assassinate him.

Tetsumiro 02-29-2008 09:01 AM

Theodore furrowed his brow a bit. He looked down a moment before standing his ground on the subject. "Look, Your Majesty..." He was trying to be as polite as possible, though those words were strange for him to say. "I know I haven't quite behaved myself since I came here. I've directed some anger at you I shouldn't have... And I'm truly sorry for that. I was angry at you for sending those dear to me away, and I refused to pause and even think that you were also sending those you cared for longer than I have, out to a possible death. I've been childish, selfish and as you said, ignorant.

"Whether you allow me to join your forces or not, I'll go out to fight. Because I have people to protect still... and people to find.

"Even if you refuse my request... will you deny Aidan of the possibility of having his sight back? Even if he would know no different... and I'm sure he would learn to tame those flames of his without that simple sense, but would his potential not be greater with his sight restored?" He had not moved one bit, just looking at Aviar with complete seriousness in those familiar blue eyes. He wanted to give them back to Aidan... he didn't expect to manage to survive much longer out in the war much longer--he didn't want it to go to waste.

ToriKat 02-29-2008 06:37 PM

"Fight them if you like. The mages have already been dispatched. Just don't get in their way. I won't have them risking their lives saving you if you were to get in their way."

Aviar's eyes turned to the child upon his bed.

"Aidan will not be the same, sight or sightless. It is not just the vision issue." He looked back at Theodore. "People borne from the hands of magic and men do not live normal lives."

Tetsumiro 02-29-2008 06:49 PM

"Will you at least tell me where Arturo was dispatched to?" He questioned, canting his head with a slight curiosity.

"What... do you mean?" Theodore asked softly, rubbing his arm a little. He didn't understand so much about magic, why couldn't it all be simple?

ToriKat 02-29-2008 06:59 PM

Aviar informed him of the official name of the region Theodore's hometown was in. realizing he was not educated in the country's geographical terms, he began describing the cities and towns consisting of it.

"His life will be five times faster than normal beings. After eight years, he is likely to die of old age." The prince looked distraught of the details, but kept his emotions in him the best he could.

Tetsumiro 02-29-2008 07:08 PM

Theodore sighed when he realized it was his hometown area, he supposed he'd head home again. His family would be glad to see him.

Those blue eyes widened when Aviar told him of what Aidan would go through--He looked ill from the distress the information made him feel. "There's no way to slow it? Nothing anyone can do?" He didn't understand why Aviar would bring Aidan back if he would only live for eight or so years? It was almost cruel. "Why did you bring him back if his life will be so short?! Wasn't dying once enough for him?!" He was trying really hard to keep his temper, not looking for a fight but he just didn't understand Aviar's thinking!

ToriKat 02-29-2008 07:26 PM

"I couldn't give him up, that's why." Aviar went to pick up Aidan and hold him against him, petting his head. "Every single day for us is like five to him. In four years, he'll be the Aidan he was before you came along."

Aidan had already named the Prince "Mahba" and began calling him that.

Tetsumiro 03-01-2008 02:33 AM

Theodore fisted his hands at his sides as he looked down before he felt tears slip down his face. "I didn't want him to do it, okay?!" He didn't yell, holding back from getting angry and fighting with Aidan right between them. He felt sick, pushing his hands up into his hair.

ToriKat 03-01-2008 07:13 AM

Aviar rolled his eyes. "I'm afraid you don't realize how much I don't care," he responded shortly. "What's happened has happened. Elongating his lifespan? As much as I'd like for that to happen, that is not in the realm of white magic. Now leave," Aviar snapped, shutting the door.

Tetsumiro 03-01-2008 08:14 AM

Theodore hit the door when it shut in his face once again, flames singing the structure before flickering out as he yanked his hand away from the surface and stormed off. Dammit, one of these days he was sure he'd kill Aviar. The other teen infuriated him! He was just as childish as he was.

He went back to Aidan's room, rubbing away the tears on his face, grunting. He'd have to find a way back to his hometown.

ToriKat 03-01-2008 08:25 AM

Aviar laid upon the bed. Two years and he'd be officially coronated. Two more years, and he'll have Aidan back. Hopefully by then, there would be no Theodore to insult or take him away again. He rubbed the baby's stomach and closed his eyes.

Tetsumiro 03-01-2008 08:32 AM

Theodore lingered for about half an hour before he moved to leave, looking for Danielle first. He wanted to say goodbye since he doubted he'd be back to the castle, not for a while anyway.

ToriKat 03-01-2008 08:40 AM

Danielle was outside, pouring out the dirty water from a pail. She was attempting to ignore the advances of one of the lesser lords, Sir Percy. He was persistent and bearing gifts.

The man smirked. "I do believe I have a dress that would do well on your figure, Danielle."

She shook her head, not even looking in his direction. "No thank you, Sir."

He grabbed her arm. "Must you be so frigid?"

"You are going to be a married man, Sir Percy!" she exclaimed, looking upon him with her own set of deep blue eyes, causing him to react with a long stare.

"And you are nothing but a maid. Your brother did not hesitate to serve a lord with his body!" he snapped in response, pulling her closer.

Tetsumiro 03-01-2008 09:15 AM

Theodore frowned as he approached them, tying his hair back yet again, with his ribbon. He came up and gently placed his hand on Sir Percy's shoulder. "Excuse me, but just what do you think you're doing?" He asked as he looked past him at Danielle with a look asking her to play along, hoping she caught it before he looked serious again once he'd gained the man's attention.

ToriKat 03-01-2008 09:22 AM

Danielle looked to Theodore and blinked, noticing the mischevious look upon the boy's face. She nodded quickly to acknowledge.

Sir Percy frowned at the interruption. "What do you want?"

Tetsumiro 03-01-2008 09:27 AM

"I'd like to know what you're doing with my fiancee. Take your hands off of her, please." He said sternly, frowning a little more. He hoped this would work, it was the best thing he could think of that wasn't violent--if he fought, he'd probably get himself in quite the mess, he was angry enough to kill.

ToriKat 03-01-2008 09:48 AM

"And who are you?" Sir Percy responded. He was cocky enough to speak against a pertinent nobody. His hand still kept a firm grip on Danielle's arm.

"If you're wedding a lowly maid, you're clearly a servant yourself," he chuckled. "And you'd do best to serve those of a higher status by stepping aside!"

Tetsumiro 03-01-2008 09:53 AM

Theodore's frown deepened momentarily before his eyes narrowed and with his free hand, he held a burst of fire that rolled into a ball, his hold tightening upon the man's shoulder. "Let her go." He demanded, his frustration starting. He was ready to take his anger with the prince out on this perverted man.

"Who I choose marry is of none of your business. Now get your hands off of her, or I swear I'll burn you to a crisp and feed you to the dogs!"

ToriKat 03-01-2008 10:00 AM

Sir Percy's eyes were focused on the flames. He didn't want to retort to the boy until he was a better distance away...

Letting the girl go, he jerked his arm away. Assuming he was under training, he snapped, "Your master will hear of this!" He stomped off, figuring he'll pursue his interests once the boy was away.

Danielle watched him go before turning to Theodore to thank him.
