Theodore didn't react because he knew Aidan would, staying out of the way as Aidan helped the child up. "Yes. Finally I will." He replied with a chuckle, walking over to them and crouching down as he produced a sweet from his top layer, holding it out to Danny a bit. "Can he have sweets?"

"He can," Aidan responded with a nod. "Not too much, or he won't stop bothering you for more," he said with a chuckle. The boy had exhibited his clingy behavior and would even go so far as dig through people's clothing to discover more. Coins interested him if they were shiny. Danny blinked at the sight of the sweet in Theodore's hand. Within a moment, he had snatched it away. |
Theodore laughed. "Well, that's all I have." He said as the boy took it. "Even if he searched me, all it'd find is old scars!" He slowly stood back up, giving his stomach another rub.

Danny happily ate the candy slowly, knowing Aidan or Danielle would scold him if he just swallowed it. Plus, sweets tasted better when you ate them as long as possible. He smiled, forgetting about the fall. "Scars?" Aidan asked, raising a brow. |
"I was training for the past 3 years. I sustained many scars from it." Theo replied with a soft sigh. "And I have many from when I was younger--about 15 or so. I suppose almost 16. I was even once blind myself."

"Wow," Aidan murmured. "That must've been a lot to handle." He had assumed Theodore scarred easily. He couldn't imagine how he would've gotten some. Reaching out, he felt over Theodore's hand, wondering what was that rustling noise he heard so often. He felt over the welts, blinking. "Ah...sorry...I bet they were painful." |
Theodore let Aidan feel those scars but it made his heart beat a little faster and his cheeks flush, looking away though he knew he couldn't see. "It was at first, but the training was pain endurance." He replied gently, trying to contain his emotions. His hands--god he missed them. Being held by them. Touched. Had it not been for the training he'd had over the three years, he probably would have started to cry, but he knew if he showed weakness like that, they would take him back and train him again until he could no longer cry ever again.

"That's terrible," Aidan responded, his lips pouting. "I'm sorry. I'm grateful to know I've never gone through such a thing." Unlike his "previous" life of being stripped from his home at a young age to mature his powers, Aidan was well cared for by the Prince. |
"I'm glad you haven't. It's a horrible experience." He replied, shaking his head a bit.
"Have you mastered your flames?" He asked curiously after a moment, smiling a bit more. "Last time I saw you, you were hitting the ground to produce them. It was quite cute!" He said a bit teasingly, chuckling. |
"Yeah!" Aidan said, excited. "They said I'm a natural for some reason." He giggled. The others had kept it silent over how it appeared the boy had retained his powers. They were only increasing in strength the more he worked at practicing. |
"I bet." He chuckled, rubbing his neck a little as he looked around and stifled a yawn. He was tired but... well, spending time with Aidan was nice. "Mmm, I control flames too. I discovered my ability a little over three years ago now."

"I could tell," Aidan said with a chuckle. "I sensed it." Danny touched Theodore's pantleg with a sticky hand, leaning against him and waiting for more. |
"Really?" Theodore chuckled a bit. "I shouldn't be surprised. You seemed like you'd be very powerful." He was trying not to let his words slip any.
He looked down at Danny and laughed, ruffling his hair a bit. "I'm sorry, Danny. I don't have anything left to give you." He leaned down to gently pick him up against his hip. "Why don't we all go get you cleaned up? Before you get stuck to something." He said with a chuckle. |
"Kay," the child murmured, a pout on his face. He wanted more candies to satisfy his craving, but attention would do quite well enough. Reaching over, he touched Theodore's hair with his sticky hand. The color interested him. |
Theodore laughed and let him get him all stickied up too, walking along to take him to get cleaned up. "Are you coming along, Aidan?" He asked, glancing at him, reaching to help Danny get a hand unstuck from his hair with a chuckle. "Careful now, Danny."

Aidan nodded and tagged along. Once his hand was freed, Danny reached over to touch Theodore's freckles, curious by what they were. |
Theodore laughed as Danny touched his freckles, as he was very freckled now. He carried him to wash up, setting him down as he took a rag out of his pocket, got it wet in some water and gently scrubbed the boy's hands and face before washing his own and giving that spot in his hair a few scrubs before he pocketed the slightly damp cloth into a pouch with some coins so it wouldn't dampen his clothes.

Danny was quite amused by this new fellow. He watched him wash his face and hair, mimicking him by giving his own head of hair a ruffle. "Clean," he announced, then extended his hands for another sweet. |
Theodore gave a chuckle and nodded a little, watching him hold his hands out for more candy. "Danny, I don't have anymore." He said with a laugh, patting the boy's head and fixing his hair a bit before he pulled out a gold coin from that pouch. "Don't eat it okay? But you can keep it if you keep it safe." He said as he placed it in the boy's little hands and moved to pick him back up again.

Danny observed the coin in his hand, feeling over the details and watching it reflect sunlight. He was fully occupied by it as he wondered what it could be. "You're good with kids," Aidan said. "He can get really fussy with strangers." |
"I love kids. I've never had too many troubles with them." Theodore said with a chuckle, letting Danny look at the coin as he carried him.

Aidan nodded. "It's a pity people don't stay so innocent as children." He began hopping upon tiles himself to his room. Danny, sure that Theodore wasn't looking, tried to bite into the coin. Failing to actually get anything out of it, continued to look at it in his small hands. |
Theodore found it curious that Aidan could hop on the tiles like that, chuckling quietly. He had been keeping Danny in his peripheral vision since the boy had the coin, watching him bite it but he was ready to stop him should he put it into his mouth further.
"Ah, Danny, I told you not to try to eat it." He scolded gently with a smile, patting his back a little. |
"What's it..." Danny mumbled, still studying it. "Have show Mommy." He patted Theodore back. |
"It's money--a gold coin. You can buy lots of candy!" He chuckled, nodding a bit as he went to find Danielle. "Do you know where your mommy is, Danny?"
