"It's not your fault...I just..." She rubbed her arms some, feeling terrible for insulting him like that. |
Theodore carefully moved, trying not to disturb the tray on the bed as he brought his legs around to the floor to slowly stand up, still a little weak from the fight, shaking a moment. He brought his arms around her tenderly in a careful hug, petting a hand through her hair. "It's alright... I'm sorry, Danielle." He whispered with a tender sigh.
|
"I...I just..." She began withdrawing from him, pulling away a little quickly. Hands cupped over her face. Theodore wasn't Sir Percy...but still...It was beginning to frighten her. Noticing no attention was upon him, Danny grew fussy, throwing a little fit upon the bed. |
THeodore let her pull away with a gentle sigh, giving her a small smile as he gave her space. "I'm sorry." He whispered before he turned to pick up the tantrum throwing child, lifting him high into the air despite the pain it caused him, hiding it well though.
"Shh, Danny. Be a good boy and don't give your mother so much trouble." He said with that soft smile still lingering, holding the child against his hip once he'd lowered him, patting his lower back. He knew he shouldn't have been blaming himself any, but he wished he'd fought against the tribe to stay and protect her from that man... Sir Percy... perhaps it was time he paid him another visit. |
Satisfied by Theodore's response, Danny quieted down to soft whines. He pulled at his shirt some before calming down, the tears nothing more than a show of how he would perhaps use emotions to gain what he wanted. "Kay," he mumbled. Knowing the boy would be fine with the blond, Danielle quickly excused herself from the room to calm her nerves. She hadn't known what had come over her, but she was hoping it'd be over soon. |
THeodore nodded a little wen Danielle excused herself, lifting Danny into the air with a smile again, chuckling a bit, twirling slowly. He let the boy rest down against his hip again, moving to sit against the sill of the window, looking out and shifting to hold him with one hand, opening it up with the other to let in the fresh air, making sure Danny couldn't get out of his grasp and in danger by the window.
He held out his free hand as a bird flew near, letting it land on his finger as he drew it gently closer for Danny to see. "Don't grab at him, Danny. Just look, okay? He'll run away if you scare him." |
Danny was back to being a fit of giggles. When the bird came into the room and upon Theodore's hand, he stared, eyes wide. "It a birdy." He leaned his face closer at it to investigate it more. He wanted to touch it's feathers, perhaps even pluck one off. But Theodore had used a tone that said not to. |
THeodore smiled and the little bird looked at them, quirked it's head, looked around and then flew off to join the other birds on a ledge. "Ah, there goes birdy." He replied with a gentle chuckle, patting the boy's back gently as he sat there with him.
He frowned as he looked out, getting up and pulling the window shut, taking Danny with him. "Let's find your mother, Danny. I need to go somewhere." He said gently, starting to head off out of the room to find someone who could take Danny to safety--either Danielle or Aidan he supposed. He might have to ask Arturo for help. |
"No more play?" Danny questioned, grabbing Theodore tighter. He scrunched up his face in disapproval of his wanting to leave him. "No!" |
Theodore frowned and kept walking in search of either people, rubbing Danny's back. "I'll come back and play more later. I have to do something, and I don't want you getting hurt." He said, resting his head against the child's a moment. "I'll even bring you back some candy." He added in hopes of keeping him from fussing too much.
|
The promise of candy caused his bright blue eyes to widen. A grin accompanied his glowing expression. "Kay!" |
Theodore smiled and found Danielle, moving to hand Danny over to her. "Danielle, I'm sorry--I'll be back later, I have to do something. Do you know where Arturo is?" He was hurried--he didn't have much time.
|
"Where are you going with wounds like that?" Danielle demanded, frowning since he was out of bed. She was inclined to think that Danny had something to do with this. |
"Get him somewhere safe. Both of you. Where's Arturo--Someone's coming." He replied, frowning a bit more and he gave her forehead an idle kiss.
|
Danielle looked concerned and quickly told him where she expected Arturo to be. She held Danny against herself protectively. "Be careful..." |
"I will." He replied and gave them both a gentle hug before running off in the direction she'd given him. "Arturo!" He called as he got closer.
|
Arturo was in the middle of a short flaunt with one of the maids. With a quick kiss, he rose from the bed and opened his door to see what Theodore wanted. Had he not heard the urgency in his voice, he would've ignored him. "What is it?" |
Theodore blinked a few times when he realized what he was interrupting. "Arturo--someone's coming. I can't take them on, I'm still too weak."
|
The man raised a brow. "Tell me as much as you know." He would enlist help from the other Elementals if necessary. |
"It's only one person, I'm not sure if they're here with plans of attacking, but we can only assume so. I'm sure they know what I've done to Adrien by now. They may be out to take me down, or just to talk. However, I find the latter quite unlikely." Theodore replied quickly, glancing off a moment.
"I'll cut them off, but I won't be able to hold them back long." He said before he disappeared, a burst of energy soon followed as he clashed with the stronger tribal leader. It was a woman, probably in her mid-forties, but she was far stronger than Theodore was, and like Adrien, wielded the power to manipulate multiple elements. It was taking everything Theodore had to keep up with her, his bandages staining and blood leaking through. His elemental attacks weren't very strong, and he couldn't muster the power to pull off the attack he'd finished Adrien off with before. Grunting, Theodore was slammed up against a tree, the woman manipulating the plants to restrain the young albino. The Bianco boy panted, blood streaking his face and torso, old wounds re-opened and his eyes widened as vines wormed their way into his wounds. She was going to try and tear him apart from the inside, and he couldn't hide the pain, barely biting back the cry before blood spilled over his chin. He couldn't breathe, choking and coughing on his own blood and it was mere seconds before the youth passed out, the vines bound about his wrists, ankles and throat, keeping him bound back against the tree as his body went limp. |
Flames engulfed the area immediately. Kenna, feeling quite showy, was exerting her flames to the greatest of her abilities. Arturo, knowing how much she had grown in the past couple of years, stayed silent, ready to release his waters if necessary. Over and over he thought to himself, don't burn Theodore. A bead of sweat trickled down his brow. "Wanna battle me, old lady?" the girl shouted out, a broad grin on her face. |
The woman turned her gaze when flames spread around them, raising a brow, her plants retracting from the boy's body to drop him down to the ground before the trunk of the tree. She didn't even hesitate to switch elements, her waters washing the flames around them right out and to flood towards the young fire mage.
"Stay out of this, Child. We're only after the boy." She stated, frowning heavily and getting ready to use her fires to absorb any other attacks from the young girl. Theodore was bleeding out heavily upon the ground, unconscious as he lay there, his breathing labored and choked, still drowning in his blood. |
"You're in Milord's territory, attacking someone presiding in it. I'm here to defend him from...barbarians as yourself!" Kenna put her warmed hands upon her hips. Arturo briefly spoke in the jargon the other Elementals were trained in to plan out their offensive move against the woman. From his vantage point, he was uncertain about Theodore's condition. But considering how wounded he was after Adrien, there was no need for taking risks. |
The woman was about to say something back when there was a flash in the distance and she glanced off briefly before disappearing--she'd been called back; they didn't think Theodore would last with the extensive wounds she had left him with.
The boy was clutching onto life though--he wasn't about to die yet. Though perhaps if he 'died' the tribe would leave them alone. |
There was a moment of hesitation. Had she truly left? They glanced at one another, using up valuable time to avoid risks of being ambushed. When no one came forth, they immediately went in to carry Theodore in and off to the infirmary. |
