Danielle nodded and headed out the room to retrieve the youth. Once he was gone, Danny immediately popped into the room and approached the bed. He grinned and extended his arm.
"Poke poke poke," he chimed, jabbing her very lightly with his index finger. Danielle returned with her brother and gasped at the child. "Danny, stop that...Oh I'm sorry, Emma!" She scooped up the little boy and scolded him for his actions, tapping his hand lightly. "Don't do that to her again." Aidan glanced over toward the bed for the hawk was peering toward Emma. As the hawk's gaze moved toward Danielle and Danny, he followed too. Finally he turned to look at Emma on his own accord. "Hey." He was still a young teen and beginning to show signs of rebellion. His hair was still slightly longer, still giving him a more feminine touch, all because of Danielle's design. But, just like he had in his past life, he spiked up the back on his own. He stared emptily at the bed with his bright blue eyes. |
Emma chuckled gently as Danny came in, glad to see the child again. She let him poke her when he did it lightly, reaching to gently ruffle his hair breifly. "It's alright, Danielle." She said gently, thought it'd probably be best not to let him do it again.
She watched Aidan and the hawk as their gazes went between her and the other two, still smiling gently. "Hello." She said in reply, looking at Aidan curiously. Goodness he was still rather young. "Do you know who I am?" She didn't recall visiting with Aidan as a woman before she left, but perhaps the boy would understand she was Theodore already. |
He chose his words carefully. "I'm not quite sure, but I feel like I know you." He tilted his head to the side as if he were able to see her in another angle. Curiously, the hawk followed in suit.
"You're really familiar. He knows you though," he said softly, gesturing to the hawk. I don't know how or why though." |
Emma blinked and watched the hawk curiously. The hawk knew her? She supposed that explained why the hawk had visited her at the boat.
"How long... have you had this hawk?" She asked slowly, quite curious now. "Does he have a name?" She added after a pause, surely Aidan would have at least named him. |
"For awhile," he said, touching his lips to think. He actually remembered the bird being around him when he was very young, nudging him with his feathery head often, but not sharing any of his vision until recently.
"I've been calling him Flare." |
"Flare? That's a good ah--name.." She gasped faintly mid sentence as the child gave her a rough kick, touching her stomach again. "So rough." She mumbled, sighing out as the child gave another kick, and she was sure there would be many more now.
Sitting up, Emma tried to ignore the kicking, holding her arm out slightly as her fingers gestured the hawk in closer to perch on her arm if he would. She wanted to touch those feathers again, for longer than the brief petting she'd gotten in on the boat. "Such a beautiful bird." |
The bird tilted his head to the side, quite odd for the creature. Hesitantly, he hopped upon the material covered arm, clutching her with his sharp, taloned feet. He seemed uncomfortable as if very aware of what he was capable of doing if he squeezed her arm any tighter.
"I wanna hold birdy," Danny said, no longer whimpering over his chastisement. He pointed at Flare with persistence. "Birdy." |
Emma smiled as the hawk hopped onto her arm, her other hand gently stroking over the feathers on his head and down his neck. "Don't worry about hurting me." She murmured to the bird, fingers sliding down his back and over a wing so gently, before returning to Flare's head to ruffle the feathers a little bit.
This was so familiar, she recalled when Aidan had lingered about her as a bird what felt like so long ago now. She gave a slgihtly sad sigh at the memory. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't let go of the memories of her time with Aidan when she was Theodore. It made it so hard to want to move on sometimes. |

Aidan watched them with his empty eyes, not really looking at anything, if he could on his own anyways. Suddenly he grasped his head, his hand adding pressure to his temples and he groaned. What was that feeling? Danielle approached her little brother, still holding Danny who clutched to her chest like a monkey. "Aidan?" He shook his head and immediately made his way out of the room, almost stumbling out of the doorway. She could see the sweat upon his brow. He waved away her offers for help and retreated to his room swiftly. |

Emma was a little startled by Aidan's sudden actions, her hand still gently stroking the falcon's feathers slowly. She looked worried, what had caused such a reaction? She hoped he was alright, but there was no way she could get up and go after him, so she had to settle with enjoying the falcon's company again and hope that Aidan was alright. Shifting, she gave the falcon's head a gentle little kiss. "Will you stay in here a while?" She asked the creature curiously, gently nudging under his head, ruffling his chest feather's playfully. She felt like she might understand just why the falcon knew her, and it made her smile a bit sadly. |

The falcon stayed upon her arm, precariously keeping a light hold upon her arm. Whether he understood her or was just staying for he had nothing else to do was unknown. While Danielle pursued Aidan, Danny was let free. He returned to the room, his big blue eyes focused on Flare. "BIRDY!" Reaching out, he grasped it by the tail and gave it a yank. Instead of tightening his talons upon Emma's thin arm, the falcon fell back in an ungraceful pile of feathers onto the bed. The child then pursued to pet him with his small hand. "Birdy!" |
Emma gasped as Danny returned and gave the bird's tail a good yank. "Oh, Danny! Be gentle!" She ruffled his hair a bit and carefully stroked the falcon's head, making sure he was alright. She was glad he hadn't torn into her arm, the child caused her enough agony as it was!
"You're alright, aren't ya?" She smiled at the falcon as she gave his chest a little rub, hoping Danny wouldn't drive him off, he seemed quite tolerant of the child. ((XD You're supposed to remember these things!)) |
The falcon laid upon his back, allowing all to pet him. Once he gathered his dignity, he rolled over to rest on the bed. Flare's sharp eyes went from the child to the girl before turning his head sharply out the window. He stayed inside despite what interested him

Emma watched Flare curiously, watching out the window when he did, curious as to what had caught his attention. She stroked his back slowly a few moments before she held her stomach with a grunt and decided it was time to rest back against her pillows, watching Danny.
She was tired, sighing out quietly as she rubbed her large belly slowly. THe child had settled again, a relief, but it's constant kicking was so tiresome. She wanted to be able to leave her bed! Being bed ridden for four months didn't sound like fun at all, she was already growing restless. |
Danny continued to pet the bird before laying his head against the bed. He closed his eyes and yawned, a hand still upon Flare's back.
Aidan laid upon his bed and closed his eyes. Danielle felt through his hair. "What's wrong?" "What's with that bird?" His sister looked confused. "I'm not sure, really..." Once he was asleep, she returned to retrieve Danny from bothering Emma. |
Emma's hand rested agaisnt the bed, just in reach of Flare. Her fingers drew against his feathers from time to time, idly stroking his neck as she watched Danny lay agianst the bed a bit, it made her smile.
She glanced up a little when Danielle returned for her son, furrowing her brow faintly. "Is he alright?" She asked about Aidan. It'd been so sudden, she hoped nothing was wrong. |
"I think he's unsure....about the bird." Danielle picked up Danny and held him, rubbing his back as he slept against her. "It must be bothering him somehow." She looked at Flare. "You seem to be rather comfortable with him."

"Hmm..." Emma watched the bird curiously with a tender, small smile. "I am... I feel like I've known this bird for a long time." Her fingers stroked the feather's still and she gave a tender sigh.
"I think I'd like to rest again, Danielle, and it looks like Danny might be ready to lay down too." She chuckled, turning her head to look at Flare again, her fingers playing with a feather that had fallen out onto the bed, probably during the fall. |
As if on cue, Flare hopped up upon the window sill and looked out the window, his wings not yet stretched out for flight. He just simply looked.
Danielle nodded to her. "Take it easy Emma. And call me when you need me." She left, closing the door behind her. |
"I will." Emma watched Flare as she heard the door close, sighing softly. "Are you leaving me now?" She asked the bird, quite convinced that he understood her. "You don't have to." SHe added after a pause, shifting carefully onto her side so she could watch the falcon sit int he window.
"I don't want you to." Her voice murmured with a gentle sigh. It'd been a while since she'd felt so soothed by someone's presence, and even if it was a bird... Flare gave her a warm feeling. |
Flare turned to look at her as she spoke before he began preening his feathers. He stayed there on the sill, taking his time. Once satisfied with his condition, he sat there and just looked out to the skies.

Emma still held the fallen feather as she watched Flare preen on the sill of the window. She smiled, watching him stare out into the skies with a small smile. Quietly, she eventually fell asleep where she lay on her side, her slow breath causing her side to rise and fall slightly each time.

Four Months Pass
Danielle and the midwife worked quickly the moment Emma began to have the signs of having the baby. Aidan kept hold of his nephew in his room while his mother was occupied. The loud screams seemed to frighten the child, which had woken him up from his nap. Meanwhile, the falcon stayed in the same room as Aidan. |
Emma couldn't believe women went through this so happily! Sweat and tears streaked her face, dampening her body and long hair as she clutched at her belly. The contractions were frequent and gradually worsening in pain. She did as she was instructed, gasping and she was sure her voice would be raw from screaming with each hard push.
When the child was out, her body relaxed and she panted, a hand shakily pushing hair out of her face. She had a son, and he was a big one, ten pounds heavy. Her gaze searched for the dark skinned child, what little fuzz he had on his head a fine white, eyes and fists closed tight as he cried. |
Danielle sat down beside her, panting from all the work. She understood how exhausted the girl must have been having her little boy. After catching her breath, she cleaned up and left the two alone for awhile to share some time alone. She had her own child to check on.
