Driving.
Well I got my permit finally on December 1st. Where I live, I can't get my permit until I'm 16, and I just turned 16 on the 15th of October. Anywho...

IM terrifed of driving! Im afraid of hittign someone. I have horrible depth perseption. My friend is going to start driving me to school, when she gets her liscense. SO its all good.

Well, I could've gotten my permit last september, because here in CA you can get it at 15 and a half, but I've been too busy with my AP class and school D: So I've been reading the California Driver's Handbook in my free time, once I finish it though I'll be getting my permit ASAP^^
And, even though I haven't even gotten my permit, I'm getting my mom's car, since she wants a new one, so that's awesome! It has good mileage too~! And I think here... You can get your license i think 6 months or a year after getting your permit. I think 6 months but I'm not sure. If you're really interested, look up on google something like "California License Requirements" or something along those lines~ But yeah, I REALLY want to get my permit so bad so I can actually go places, I live with my dad since my parents are divorced, and so my dad doesn't drive me anywhere, it sucks so bad. So whenever I want to go to a friend's house, It's always like "uhh... would it be possible for you to pick me up?^^;" |
I'm fifteen now and I can go take driver's ed whenever I want(to get my permit, no license until I'm 16) but I don't feel like it yet. xD if that makes sense. Plus, I don't want to take it by myself. I may be a wuss, but I don't want to feel uncomfortable when I'm learning something as important as driving. The thought of it makes me very nervous. |
I've been driving for a few years now (with license). Got my grandfather's car when I entered college so I could drive to campus. My brother will be getting his car too when he goes to college (my grandfather's new car after he sold me his).
So far my driving record is clean *knock on wood* and I think I'm a pretty safe driver although I do like to go fast. I do need to get my car fixed a little bit, a speaker is out and my CD Player doesn't work anymore but those aren't priorities (especially since there's no warranty now) so I won't get those fixed until I have to go in for something else or am planning a driving trip with friends, cause no one has cassettes anymore ^^; |
I've got my license. :] I used to be a lot more nervous about driving, but you really get alot more comfortable with practice. I don't remember when I got my permit and stuff, I think that was at 16 as well.

I just got my license this past summer, the day after my 19th birthday. It took me much longer than it should have, but that was the first chance I had to take the test.
I hate driving in the snow. I just drove back from college today, and it took me 2 1/2 hours longer than it should have. I hope that I won't have to do that again for a long time. I'll just have to convince someone else to chauffeur me around. =) |
I got my permit about two months ago. And in Istanbul, the traffic is crazy. In Turkey, once can't get a permit until 18 years of age. I'm still too nervous when it comes to driving in intense traffic. I need more practice.

I've had my permit for a very long time but no one's taught me how to drive so I won't be getting my license anytime soon. I've had a car for a while though but it just sits there unless my mom needs to move it for some reason.
Honestly I don't really WANT to drive? I'm nervous even being in a car with someone else driving and I don't think I'm focused enough to get anywhere safetly. There's a ton of giant ditches and winding roads where I live, so... eek. Yeah, not looking forward to it at all. |
I honestly don't like driving, but I can officially get a driver's license, if I knew how to drive.

I have my license! and it's a very wonderful thing. =If you drive, do you have a car? Like I said I do drive and yep I have my own car...it's a 2006 Saturn Ion...or maybe it's a 2007 I'm not sure, whatever it was a gift for Majin. <33 =If you don't drive, when can you get your permit? I don't think it's a matter of how long you have to have it before you get your license, you just have to be 16 and have a specific number of driving hours...some on the express way, some and some night driving. =Anything else you'd like to add to the discussion? lol I STILL don't drive.
I don't have a permit, nothing! lol I can get my permit now, but i'm just too lazy to. I never feel like driving anywhere so it would be pointless, right now, to get one. Plus, my sister does all the driving for me, i just sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride! =D lmao o.O I can get my permit at 16. I think, or is it 15 and a half?... o.o;; I DO know you have to have your permit for 6 months until you get your license. |

You can get a license one month after you turn 16 as long as you took Driver's ED, otherwise it's 16 and three months. I think permits are as soon as you're 15. Can't really remember. And I waited a long time to get my license, mostly because I ran over a construction barrel and broke the fog light off the family semi. Which I never did fix... Anyway, now I'm happily one of the safer drivers amongst my friends. |
I got my permit when I was like 16 or 17. Though You can get it when you are 15 1/2 here. I am 18 and haven't got my liscence, but I don't want to learn to drive my parents standard car. So hard to drive.

I have my permit, but I haven't been able to practise my driving. Either I'm gone or my parents are, it's made practising a pain. I can drive but when I did the test I failed on parallel parking. Although I'm pretty sure I was within legal distance, I think my tested decided to fail me at the start. She was mean, I only did the test once. I got my permit when I was 17 and I'm 23 now :oops: .
Here, I believe you can get your permit when you are 14, but you can't test for your actual license until you are 16. We have a graduated system here, so you get a license then a year later you have to test for your graduated license. |

I've been driving for two years now.. with a license of course :3 it's fun. we can get it when we turn 18... and I still believe a 16-year-old is too young for having a car license D: and they should deffinitely do a psychological and an IQ test before they give a license to anyone xD haha. |

I have a driving license for 8 years now. =If you drive, do you have a car? I dont own a car but I abuse my mom's car. A Skoda Fabia that will became mine in 2 months or so. =Where you live, when can you get your permit and how long do you have to keep it to get your license? When i was doing the exam you needed to be 18. Tho you are able to do first aid and "CPP"(means an exam on "traffic regulations" - tells you about sign, and other stuff you need to know when driving so you dont get fines) before you are 18 and you can learn to drive(at least 30 hours of driving, now a days) before 18 too. The exam tho must be after you get to 18. |

I have my license, but I do not really like driving. I am so paranoid or angry drives hitting me. Personally I am a pretty good driver, but other people scare me. Especially when they zoom around.
I had to have my permit for six months and get fifty hours in. Ten of them had to be at night. When you finally have your license you cannot drive people under eighteen for a year unless there is a person over twenty-one in the car. I think they have to be in the passenger seat too. You also cannot drive from eleven pm until five am unless there is a person over twenty-one in the car. These rules are pretty new. They are preventative movements to stop kids from going to parties with their friends and driving people unsafely. |

I got mine quite late (I think I was 17), mainly because you can't drive in England until you're at least 17, and I lived there right up until that particular birthday, only to move to the states a month or two later. So whilst most of my friends already drove, I was just getting behind the wheels of a car.
At the very least, it felt alot more natural to me than some of my classmates... I found it kind of scary during driving sessions when the girl I was sharing lessons with kept veering off to the side... lol |
