I got my license sometime in 2007. I think I was 18, but I could have gotten my license earlier if I wanted to. The first time I took the driving test, apparently I was going too fast. But the second time, I did a fairly decent job. I love driving and I hate driving. I love driving alone, just cruising around my town. I like to listen to Rob Zombie in the car because it makes me feel like speeding, but I always stay at the speed limit. I hate driving with someone else in the car though, like my friend. I'm a pretty careful driver, so when I'm trying to turn and there's a car coming, I don't chance it, I stop. But she's always like "YOU COULD HAVE WENT!!" Even though the other car is going all fast and shit. e_e; I don't have my own car, but I wish I did. Driving my brother's Honda sucks because it's always so damn messy, and driving my dad's old Nissan Pathfinder isn't any better because it's old and it shakes a lot if you go over 55mph. ><; My mom won't even let me touch the steering wheel of her Benz. Nuts to that.

I don't have a permit or license yet, but I can drive. Ahaha... I should probably get to working on the whole "taking the driver's test" thing.

In fact, I might grab the book and schedule it for next weekend.

I don't drive. I could drive and will have to get my permit to take driver's ed in school, but I do not want to drive. I am 18. I think driving would be scary and have always not wanted to drive. My mom waited to get her licence until she was 18 also. My sister wants to get her permit as soon as possible. You only have to be 15 to get your permit here.

AHAHA.

I've been sixteen for like, half a year now, and I haven't gotten my permit yet. I'm terrible. But the book is just so BORING, I can barely bring myself to just sit down and read it.

In other news, I think they're going to change it this year so you have to be eighteen or something to get your lisence... so a friend of mine and myself are planning on getting our permits within the next while.

I drive. I have a full-blown license, with no restrictions, because I'm 17 (nearly 18 ). Here, you can get a school permit at 14 if you live in a rural area (which I don't). You can get a regular permit at 15 if you pass a written test. You can get a license at 16 if you pass a driving test, but you still have restrictions. Like, you can't drive between midnight and 6 am unless you're going to school or work. You can't have more than one other person in the car, wear flip-flops, drive bare foot, text, or talk on a cell phone. At 17, you're home free and can do whatever the hell you want driving-wise.

I don't have a car, but I share one with my mom, so I have one to drive. I'll probably get a car in the spring when I have time to actually work.

@insecurely: That book is extremely boring and you don't need to read through it. Where I live everyone (including the non-Asians) read the Chinese driver handbook. This book literally gives you all the questions that will be on the drivers test (if you buy the most recent one). I used that to study and the test was easy to pass.

  • =Do you drive? Permit or License?
I've been driving for a little bit over a year now (I got my license in December 2006)

=If you drive, do you have a car?
Yeah I got it for my 17th birthday...like, literally the day after ^_^ Then my best guy friend came over with his brother because they remembered where I live o.o but wow...haha. That was fun.

=If you don't drive, when can you get your permit?
    In California...age 15 1/2

=Where you live, when can you get your permit and how long do you have to keep it to get your license?
DMV and either a year OR six months. I can't remember.

=Anything else you'd like to add to the discussion?

    Nuffing really.

Do you drive? Yes Permit or License?License
If you drive, do you have a car?Yes.
Where you live, when can you get your permit and how long do you have to keep it to get your license?
You have to be 14 and 6 months old to start driver's education. And after you get your permit, you have to wait four months before you can go in and get your license.
Anything else you'd like to add to the discussion?
I just love night dirving. C:

I am thirteen, can't drive yet. Where I live you must be fifteen to get a permit, then you can drive with a parent in the front seat. You can't drive regularly until you are sixteen, one month, and three days or something silly and exact like that. I'm fourteen in a few weeks though, so basically one more year until I'm off to learn how! (It really doesn't seem that hard.)

I didn't get my license until I was almost 20

But I had already had a job so I could aford a car for myself!

so I have a cute little re convertable with a white top that I bout off of some lady for 3,000 dollars. XP

I live in calli and I could have gotten my license when I was 16 but I was to lazy.

I can get my drivers license any time I want; well except that I have to take the tests.
I'm done with the 4 month waiting period of practicing, but I didn't really practice all so much...didn't complete the 40 hours. >>

But since there is a lot of snow outside and a lot of people are having car crashes; I was in one on the 26th.
I'm a bit iffy if I should do it really soon.
I might wait until spring but that might cause problems since I need to get a job. D:
