lol I have to travel so far to get to a con so I don't attend many. Anyone planning to go to Anime Expo next year? I'm totally going.

I want to go to another one because it (cosplay) definitely helped with my soul searching and revving back up my interest in cosplaying since I didn't do anything for like, two years...and this year just made me so happy and to love it again.

Thats great! ^^o Actually I think I'll keep cosplaying. It helps me with problem solving. You have to think outside the box a lot to make your costumes look right. Its a great talent to develop.

I am new here. I am a cosplayer from Cebu City, Philippines.

Yes, I do have pics of me cosplaying. I am still new to the cosplaying world though. I just started Nov. 2007. My group joined two conventions and won first place in both cons. (Small cons only. Cosplaying is relatively new in my city.) I cosplayed Uchiha Itachi twice. My friend and I are planning a death note photoshoot. Might go as Kenshin Himura for a con this October and reprise my role as Itachi or go as Hidan for our Akatsuki group joining the Otaku fest competition this December.

The flash made it look funny, but it is made of dark burgandy fleece. The collar and accents are all matte vinyl (omg I never want to sew with the stuff again). And I hand-studded in all the collar accents. (owwie...)

It's fun to be in a group sometimes but it can be a real pain in the ass if you have hard headed members. I was so stressed out before the cons, I tell you.

I'll try cosplaying alone. I have never tried that yet. It's always with my group.

I've never had an actual "group" put together. I was trying to make an "all-white-party" group based on the movie White Chicks, back in 2006 because the Wayans Brothers had a panel at Comic Con. Sadly to say, I was the ONLY one in my white costume because nobody else in my group was available to do it or didn't get their stuff done on time.

But as for gatherings...yeah I created the Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts gatherings at Comic Con for the past 5 years. I don't personally know EVERYONE in the group but that's my kind of group there is.

Other than that, I pretty much cosplay alone.

Our group cosplayed the Akatsuki (bad guys from Naruto), but we never completed the members. We'll try to complete it this year. This would be our last as the akatsuki. Some of our group members we only knew only. I first made a recruitment at a local forum. The other members are friends and my siblings. All of my siblings are also cosplayers. My other who's studying law though hasn't cosplay yet since he's lives far away. But he wants to do Zetsu this December.

it would be cool if someone made the whole Akatsuki clan cosplay.. :)

gah, school is taking up all of my time.. I hope I can do finish a cosplay outfit for winter!

Yup! We'll try to complete the Akatsuki group this December. This time I might go as Hidan instead of Itachi.

I'm also very busy with Law school and real life problems.

well you just have to keep your eyes open and buy something for your costume
one thing at the time.. :) it takes more time but costs less. also making things yourself is pretty much money saving.

I wish it was more interesting to post on Menewsha right now. But lately it's been quiet...I dunno why. Anyway I have a new costume up but I'm still getting it fixed because I'm wearing it tomorrow (erm...today...in 10 hours). I get to wear Princess Leia for a presentation at my university. It's not for any of my classes, but the affiliation I'm a part of has been invited to do a presentation for the school, and it's totally right up my alley.
