Wow.
I like your avi, Knerd. |
Thanks!
I've been changing it around a lot lately so that I can wear all of my new items, so we'll see how long I keep it like this. If we're likely, I might not change it for another day or so. =) |
lol. That is cool.
|
Wow thanks Knerd :3 Erm, yeah, that is pretty much all
that i was curious about today :B |
Conversation starter!
Who is everyone's favorite author? I know that a few people have mentioned their's, but I'm still curious. I'd like to hear everyone weigh in their opinions. For me - It's Ray Bradbury, like I mentioned a few pages ago. |
|
Hm... I guess it is between JK Rowling and Orson Scott Card... It's kind of funny because their styles and works are completely different outside the idea of being fiction.
-looks back at other posts- D: I missed being in the first 1k here by 220 something people |
mmm! what a great way to start off the new year! My friends and i are doing something like this, but with movies instead. XD. i was thinking of reading 'guardians of ga'hoole', some of my friends said it was great. is the series any good? 0_o
|
So...I've changed books that I'm reading. I'm working on 'SELF' by Yann Martel. It's so good.
|
Ooo. I will bite. xD Wee, this should push me to read a lot. ;'3 To bad I can't include the books I read in december. D: )
My list: 1: "The Last Boyeln" (I borrowed it, so I don't remember the details. I will find out later. <3) 2: "I, Elizabeth" Rosalind Miles (on page 71 of 637) 3: "The Other Boyeln Girl" Philippa Cgregory (on page 344 of 661) 4: ?? |
^ If you want to include books from December, you might as well. Just end your 12 months in November. You'll be a little bit ahead of the rest of us but it's not like we're having a full-blown contest here. We're pretty lenient. =)
|
Haha, its fine, I only read three(the Twilight series), I am only just getting back into reading. I used to read a lot when I was younger. xD<3

This sounds really interesting. I know some one posted that they wanted to read 50 books in one year. I will have to keep track of the books i've been reading more. In my temp journal and when they come back i'll post in my real journal as well *nods*
I was reading/ and finished in the last week of december, beguining of January Marlfox by Brian Jacquies, then I read Up in a Heval and Crewl Lye by Piers Anthony, then I read Trigun Maximum Vol. 11, and I started The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle. I'm about half way done so far. So that's 3 1/2 books in 2008 so far ^_^ |
*sigh*
I've been so busy lately what with Midterms and all (last minute cramming xD) that I haven't read any new books yet. Better start soon or else I'll fall short of 50 books. ^^ I've wanted to read The Other Boyeln Girl, I just adore books from that time period. Too bad I have so many overdue fines on my library card. @[email protected] |
I'm just starting The Stranger by Albert Camus.
|
Oooo.... Sounds like fun. At least my books for college can count!
Okami's Book List: Slaves of the Mastery by William Nicholson (Wind on Fire Series: Book 2) On Christian Liberty by Martin Luther (I wouldn't recommend it for entertainment) Utopia by Sir Thomas More Books: 3/35 Pages: 821/15,000 |
Okie..just finished another book...and in one hour I'm proud say. ^^
Ok, fine, it was an easy read, but still, one of the best books I've read: the five people you meet in heaven. Now I feel like reading Tuesdays with Morrie too...but I should probably start reading the two books I was assigned to read for class. x.x xDD |
I never liked Mitch Albom very much. He writing is just too sentimental and emotional for me. It's the kind of stuff that I'll probably be more interested in 40 years from now, but not at this moment. I'm just not his target audience.

Lately I've been reading my Bible and there are some really good stories in the Old Testament. Most stories in general are usually based in some way off the Bible. I'm always recognizing story lines in movies that remind me of them.
|
@Suki - I've also noticed that.
I've also noticed with songs, that the song could be directed towards another person, but depending on how one interprets the song, the song can be considered a Christian song. Not really relative, but it just interests me how that happens. |
I feel like I'm going to have to read the Bible soon -.-; I'm taking a class called "Early English Literature," having forgotten that a considerable amount of those times were heavily influenced by Christianity... So, my teacher makes all these references to the Bible and I'm pretty much clueless...
|
I noticed several posts on reading the bible...it would probably be something I should read. I tried it once, I don't think I got very far....not even to Exodus.
|
i finished Warriors the New Prophecy: Sunset
and I started on Inkheart, Tolkien a biography, and Fahrenheit 451. Yesterday I showed my friend a book called 'How to be a Pirate' and she freaked XD poor heath ledger D: |
I've tried reading the Bible several times. In the Old Testament, I've gotten to Leviticus. In the New Testament, I've gotten from Matthew to Romans.
|
Hey, guys, if anyone runs across good vampire fiction or gay/lesbian fiction, tell me. Those genres have been calling me, but there's so much bad stuff, it's hard to find what's worthwhile.
As for the Bible, or in my case, the Tanakh, I love reading the Psalms, Proverbs, and Song of Songs... |
