Haven't been reading much. Went to JAFAX yesterday and will be going to B93 Birthday Bash today x.x so many things. So little time. But I am getting some bookies =o

Immortaleyes 06-22-2008 10:40 PM

I read a lot yesterday. First I read some stories that are based off of supernatural Spiritual awakenings in different centuries...like from 1740-1741, and 1798-1800, they're called Fire and Storm and are written by Bill Bright. He has some other ones that I'm looking into getting from my library. So if you like that sort of thing or know someone who likes that sort of thing tell them to check out some of his work.
I've also read 45 Master Characters because I needed some ideas in how to better define some of my characters in my fantasy fiction story. It did help...I just wish I owned the book because it would come in really handy.
And I read So Wild A Dream, which is about Sam Morgan and his journey across the country with other great western explorers and country men like Jedidiah Smith. Winfred Blevins is a very good writer...he really captures the western countryside very well.
:) If I didn't say it before I'll say it now...I'll read pretty much anything that piques my interest. It keeps me informed and inquisitive. Don't just stick to reading things that you've always read about...broaden your horizons and try something new. who knows...maybe you'll end up really liking it.

Alaunt 06-23-2008 01:56 AM

Hey. I thought that I'd go ahead and post the link to my finished 50 challenge list.

Here

Angel Spirit Girl 06-23-2008 02:01 AM

Way to go, Alaunt!

I like Tamora Pierce's books and Vampire Knight.

I didn't like The Plague by Camu.

Alaunt 06-23-2008 02:06 AM

I still haven't read any of Campus' books, but I'm planning to. Though, I did start to read the Plague and I find it a tad hard to keep with . . . my attention just wanders. >.<

jessieomer 06-23-2008 02:24 AM

Just got the second in the Cirque Du Freak Series. So I will definantly be reading that. Along with a Clock in the walls. ^.^

Knerd 06-23-2008 04:03 PM

@Alaunt:
Congrats! You've made it onto the Wall 'O Fame.

Immortaleyes 06-23-2008 07:47 PM

Wow.
I went into work today and found ten books waiting for me in my locker. Too many to carry home. Besides I still have like 4-5 books that I need to finish in Winfred Blevin's series first.
I did read some paperback romance book today...while I was supposed to be working. I do that too often.
*sigh*

Bergamot 06-24-2008 06:34 PM

I picked up a copy of Twilight today. >~<

I didn't buy it, but I may try the library. I want to make up my own mind about it. </3

Difficulty is, I want one I can write in. xD

MurasakiCrown 06-24-2008 06:35 PM

Oh, I saw a copy of Twilight at Target yesterday, but I'd wasted my money already, so I couldn't get it ^^;

I work at a school, and I have thousands of books available for me to read, so it took me a while to pick up Twilight. I fell in love with it. I would reccomend this book to everyone! The students and teachers at my school all love this series.

I read Twilight over my vacation last week in my spare time between Disney World and Epcot, and everything else in Florida.

In the Orlando Florida Airport I picked up New Moon and read it during the 2 hour delay, and the 3.5 hour flight to Denver, Colorado.

From Denver, Colorado, to Ontario, California, I read the first 200 pages of Eclipse. I would have read more, but I was borrowing my sister's book.

I spent Sunday resting, and then Monday I bought Eclipse, and finished it by Tuesday.

I can't wait for Breaking Dawn!! I am simply in love with these books. I haven't been excited aobut reading since I read the books Uglies, Pretties, and Specials by Scott Westerfield in 2007.

stardust33 06-25-2008 06:26 PM

Yes i must agree with you padfootsy in till i read the twilight series i never really was excited about reading. I think the twilight series is the cause of me finally starting to love reading. After i read it i started reading a lot more and started to enjoy it :D

Scott Westerfield is also a great writer I loved his uglies series and still need to read the second and third book of midnighters :P I loved the first one and hopefully the second and third turn out to be great.

Stormy1 06-26-2008 04:12 AM

O.o this looks like a really interesting challenge. I think I shall try, I've already read a crap load of books this year so I'll have to check my library tickets.

The twilight series is very good, even though its very mary-sue and gary-sue and cliché about things. But its a entertaining read.

Scott Westerfield is a wonderful writer. I've read the whole uglies series and the whole midnighter series, both were great. I've also read So Yesterday and the Peeps series. Great novels.

I've just finished reading the Tale of The Body Thief. I am so glad I found it so I could finish it (and of course, I had to re-start). I missed Lestat so much. Truly wonderful story XD

He's so despicable and lovable at the same time >w<

Kibz 06-27-2008 05:45 PM

I think i dare.

I used to be a big reader, but recently i've not bothered, so i suppose its a good inspiration eh.

I'll start with a book i bought a while back but haven't read yet:

And that is 'The Shakespeare Secret - J.L Carrell' (Im a sucker for shakespeare plays so it struck out at me instantly xD)

I'll be back when im finished :)

jessieomer 06-27-2008 07:36 PM

I finished reading A house with a Clock in its Walls.
It was okay for kids fantasy. When I got it the cover made it look like adult fantasy
Oh well. No harm done ^.^

Befu 06-28-2008 08:41 AM

Oh wow! This looks like it would be so much fun! I'd participate, but I'll be off on a mission for a year and a half soon, in which they're strict on the material we are to read, so I don't know what will be acceptable. :XD Though afterwards, I shall surely take up this fun challenge. =3

Tarrish 06-28-2008 10:12 AM

I've decided to take on this challenge. It sounds fun, and gives me more motivation to read. Any motivation to read is greatly appreciated since my job takes away so much of my free time. When I'm in school it's even worse. I only read things for my classes. blah Not that all I read for class is bad, but you know how that goes.

Tarrish 06-28-2008 10:15 AM
