There was a triller I read that I really liked. It was an advanced reader's copy but I think the book should by out now. I believe it was called "don't look back you might not like what you see". Not sure who the author was but I liked it so much I read it all in one night. >_<

I read so many books that I tend to forget or mash up books in my head. |
Yeah, the same thing happens to me a lot too. >_<
like last year for my reading challenge, I read 111 books and about 50+ comics.
so definitely lots of smooshing. |
I haven't kept track at all. I should look at my goodreads and do a count. >_<
Goodreads actually has a neat option that will track your yearly book count for you. Just go to this page to set a goal and then make sure you add a "Date I finished this book" every time you read something. Goodreads then tracks all your books and gives you a yearly number and some statistics. [yes]

YES!! Other people with GoodReads accounts!! I have the app on my phone, so all I have to do is scan the barcode, then when it brings the book up, I mark it as "reading now", and when I'm finished, I pull it up again, and hit the button that says, "I'm finished." It automatically marks the dates for me, and I can then go about rating and reviewing if I want.
I'm one book ahead of schedule at 83%, 33 books out of 40. Here's my profile, if anyone wants to add. |
I just realized my list was way out of date, but now it's up to speed with my Goodreads account. (This is my Goodreads if people want to add me.)
61 out of 75 books so far, 81% done and 1 book ahead of schedule. I'm still struggling my way through A Storm of Swords. I love the Game of Thrones show, and I really enjoy the books when I'm reading them, but I have resistance to actually sitting down and reading them. I don't know why. [cry] |
Adding everyone on Goodreads! You can find me over here, too.
I just finished reading Clariel - It's always tough to revisit the stories that you read as a kid, but the Old Kingdom held up really well. The plot wasn't anything to rave about, but I really like the way that all the pieces fell together. Garth Nix does a good job of character-building and expanding on his world through little bits and pieces at a time. And there was one particular paragraph that really made me go "Oh snap! I see what's happening here!" This isn't really a spoiler (since it's just a hint that requires some background knowledge in order to understand), but if you're familiar with the Abhorsen books and are don't want to know anything about Clariel's ending, you might not want to click here: SPOILERSo that pulled it all together for me and made the novel worthwhile! |
So I started trying to count my books but I don't have them all dated and I'm lazy so yeah... It was definitely way over 50 though.
I'll have to post my good reads link once I'm on the laptop. I'm kind of in a slump again. don't know what to read.
I've never heard of Goodreads. It looks... really interesting ; 3; -haunts website-
I've been using Goodreads since 2010 o-o I think.
I think I started with it in 2012? It's really useful for keeping track of what books I want to read.
Goodreads is awesome. I started using it as a way of cataloging all my books, but I stuck around because of their giveaways and groups. I've gotten a lot of free books from them. [yes]
I've only ever won once and it wasn't even a book I was super excited about. I am a librarian on there though~
I never knew they did giveaways. How do they work?
*just jumping in*
Goodreads does giveaways? |
The giveaway page is right over here.
Just scroll through the list to see if any of the books interest you, then apply to them individually. Whether or not you get chosen depends on things like how active you are on the site, how often you post reviews, whether or not you've reviewed any books that you won in the past, etc. [yes] |
Ah yeah, I'm likely not to be chosen then. I never leave reviews. >.<
Me too also >_>
It sounds like we use the site the same way SZP. XD
Hehe! Do you keep track of books you've read and then find new ones to read by browsing? That's all I do [XP]
Nah, I don't browse, I just keep track of what I read and what I plan to read.
Yer.
I mainly use it to keep track of what I'm reading and have read, what I own and what I've given away, which books are ebooks, etc. If I find myself without anything to look forward to, I'll browse out of desperation. But it usually doesn't give me much in the way of options. |
