Shading tips?
Ok, so I recently started to color my pictures, and I really suck at shading. If you want proof: http://x0xjennx0x.deviantart.com/art...-girl-73183140
so yeah, any advice? |
I'm not great at shading myself, but whenever i try to do it I always first try to think of a lightsource, ie sun. Then you can either lightly draw the source in pencil and erase it later (to remind yourself where it is). Then you just pretty much imagine what it would look like if the sun was shining on the person from that angle.
I'm not sure what other tips i can give you ^^; |
I think it's pretty though. o:
Not all art requires shading but that's an amateur's opinion you're getting. ^^;; |
owo I LOVE that dress. Gimme? Shading tips: Like Amurita says find your light source and make a note of it. One thing I do is get a barbie doll (yay has a reason to buy more Barbies again) and take her into a dark room with a touch and shine the torch from where the light source is, study the extreame light and dark contrast this provides and translate it to your art, softneing the contrast a little. (I have trouble with shading unless I can really see a contrast). |
