A TWISTER! A TWISTER! - whistle whistle -

God. I could almost swear that we're having a twister right now. I know we're not but holy shit. The wind is blowing so damn hard. It feels like my house is just going to collapse.

It's like, every time the wind blows, the house cracks (LOUDLY), and there's this sound almost like a freaking twister outside. NEVER ENDING. GOD. I'm so scared. D:

So does anyone else have/ever had weather like this?
Do you hate weather like this?

MidnightRun 01-10-2008 03:44 AM

Roflmao, when you said twister, I was thinking of the game, Twister. XD And I was so confused when you said you were having one! O.o;

I'm in Cali, so a twister obviously can't happen, but we've had high winds before! It felt like my house was going to fall flat on it's side, knocked by the wind! xDD During night too! [I stay up till no one's awake xD]

Hope it ends soon for you. D:

Wow. :0 Are there storm warnings in your area or something?

We've never really had any tornados or anything that serious around here.
But sometimes it pours so hard that you can't see/hear anything. xD
And the wind knocks down quite a few trees in the creek by my house.

There's up to 45MPH winds but I don't believe that, it has to be more like 60MPH. This is fucking crazy, it feels like the house is gonna dump itself over and crash. >_<

THE RAIN DOES THAT AT SCHOOL. Once it rains hard enough, it hits on the roof and it's this loud rumble sound so you can hardly hear ANYTHING.

elanifave 01-10-2008 03:57 AM

D: I've seen an actual tornado before, and it's scary as freaking anything. I was in elementary school, and the sink in the room started sucking and it sounded like a train was coming for us, and we all had to crouch in the hallway. It was freaking terrifying. It barely missed the school. There was stuff in the playground, but only a couple of windows broke from stuff x.x

@ Scribble ~ Ohh, I didn't know that. I hope it doesn't get too bad for you. o.o;

mystic kiwi 01-10-2008 04:02 AM

I can’t stand when it’s windy out. There’s not that much of a threat of tornados here since I live on an island and it’s hard for them to get across the water, but we have had them before. It has been pretty windy out lately and warm, which I’d take the wind any day as long as it stays warm.

Majinkoz 01-10-2008 04:02 AM

Oh my gosh!

I know how that feels. Sometimes it's like mega windy where I am and it's crazy....and we actually had a tornado warning a few days ago.

But it's actually pretty fun when you're all safe in your warm bed and it's super windy.

Cherry Who? 01-10-2008 04:04 AM

Check your local channels or weather.com or something.
We had tornadoes in my area a few days ago. You may have that same storm, if you live to the east.

Winter Wind 01-10-2008 04:54 AM

Ah. That reminds me of the storm that hit California, U.S.

God.

That was INSANE.
It was like "VROOOOOOOOOOOM" then "pop" because we didn't have electricity.
We actually toasted bread in the fireplace. xD

juniper_silver 01-10-2008 05:51 AM

That happened about a month ago at my house. I woke up in the middle of the night and I was so sure I was gonna die. I used to be terrified of tornadoes when I was little. I'm still scared of them, but not as bad. You should put some music on to distract yourself from the noise/fear.

Thunder 01-10-2008 07:07 PM

I know how you feel. I had something like that happy to me a couple months ago. It was pretty freaky. I was sitting alone in my room, playing a game. I couldn't hear anything going on outside when suddenly the power goes out and everything is black. All of the sudden a branch breaks and slams against the side of my room and, like it hit a switch, in that moment, all I could hear was the wind howling around the house. Scared the living crap out of me. I was sure there was a tornado nearby. But then, genius me decides to run outside and see if there's really a tornado. :roll: Luckily for my idiot self, there wasn't. Just a really bad storm. I sat on the front porch and watched. xD

I'm afraid that a tornado is going to flatten my house. I have nightmares about it all the time, even though tornadoes aren't common around here. However, I still think tornadoes are fascinating and would love to see one in person, just not around my house or anyone else's for that matter.

Sarah = In Maine. >_________<

So yes. East.

Our weather channel doesn't know WTF is going on, they can't tell the weather for shit.

The wind is still blowing just as hard now as it was lastnight AND it's s'posed to snow or rain tonight/tomorrow. I dunno what the hell is going on, we never have winds like this.

Maine..it is RARE to have a tornado.

Violet Lace 01-10-2008 08:17 PM

Yeah, I'm in the south and we had tornado warnings two days ago.

And right now I'm at school and it's thunderstorming and I have to drive home in half an hour. They're doing construction on our campus, and there's this huge crane that's just asking to be struck by lightning. I imagine it breaking and smashing the entire art building in. xD

Estrella 01-10-2008 08:57 PM

O: I TOTALLY GET HORRIBLE WIND LIKE THAT!

And, my bedroom window is broken so you can hear it howling by all hours of the night. And it's so strong here that it once blew one of those storage shed things you see outside of Lowe's/Home Depot, across the highway. It's scary. I thought my aunt's house would blow away when I lived there.

GET THAT DAMNED WINDOW FIXED! DDDDDDDDDDx

My house feels like it's just going to topple over and blow around whenever the wind blows like this. It's so insane.

Estrella 01-10-2008 09:02 PM

I don't know how! D':
My father-in-law is suppose to do it, I just wish he'd do it sooner 'cause I sleep next to the damn thing and all through the night I hear the howling and FEEL the frackin' cold AND it causes the blinds to rustle, which I find the most obnoxious noise in the world.

My aunt's house was two stories, and OLD, I'm surprised it hasn't blown over. o.o;

Tell him to do it. D: that seriously needs to be done. Talk about lots of colds and earaches! D= not to mention headaches. >_>

Our house is ooooooooold. D: Atleast 30 years old. Well that's not -that- old but still.

Estrella 01-10-2008 09:08 PM

This house had newspapers from the 30s hidden in the walls. xD I mean, it's REALLY old. I swear I could feel it swaying when I lived there.

And he'll get to it, eventually. xD

Yeah 01-10-2008 09:08 PM

Yeah, it's been windy as heck here for the past few days, everything is getting blown around and we had a thunder storm the other night.

Well, that is RIGHT where the storm was headed. North-east from here[Missouri].
But since it's the next day now, I'm sure the storm has passed you. ^^

Scribble Me Orange 01-10-2008 09:13 PM

The lights went out here lastnight at about..11PM. I was like. NO. But my computer doesn't restart once the lights go out so I just left it off and went to bed. I was tired anyways.

Wow. @ newspapers in the walls.

Herkamyrh 01-10-2008 09:20 PM

you could be experiencing micro burst winds. When I used to atend KU, one sunday morning I woke up and you could hear the sind scrape across the house. Building all over the town had windows broken out and some roofs torn off. B/c the campus is situated on a large hill, it was hit the hardest. Something like 1/2 the windows on campus were destroyed, and the roof of the music/performing arts building was displace to the parking lot across the street. Needless to say we didn't have class on monday or tuesday.

Scribble Me Orange 01-10-2008 09:24 PM

More like fucking Mega Burst Winds. D: This is crazy. They stopped for the time being but holy shit. They were just..it'd hit the house hard and feel like a giant was shoving on your house.

Amiiu 01-10-2008 10:22 PM

I thought you meant the game xDDD;;
I never had that happen to me, the worst I ever remember was an earthquake, a SMALL one, and I was about half asleep P: And it didn't break anything, it just kind of shook stuff a little, and that was it.
