I've got my fingers crossed. We got twice a week starting tomorrow up through October. Im remaining positive that she will be walking soon. Then the snide comments from complete strangers on how big she is will stop. Took Toni to continue her school shopping on Saturday and there were some whispered comments on Elise's size. I almost slapped a few people. Really irks me that people feel the need to comment on things where they have no idea what the situation is. As if I dont already know shes chunky, Im the one that carries her everywhere
I'll come out there and handle the whispering ass bags. People should learn to be quiet about what doesn't concern them.
Been forever since I was here, I've missed everyone. *hugs all around* |
I think you should just tell them whats what. They want to be dicks, make them feel embarrassed for it. Maybe they'll learn a lesson. ;D
That's definitely one way to make people think twice about opening their wide open traps
Exactly.
I feel bad for my coworker stacey. She is constantly receiving sametime messages from some random guy in the building. He keeps saying how good she looks and that she should come by his desk more often. What a sleeze.
Anybody excited that halloween is getting closer |
What are sametime messages?
Totally excited for Halloween! I just have no idea what I'm going to do this year for costumes. >.< I want to do something fun with the family, but I have no ideas. |
Sametime is the office communicator thay our company has. Everyone is pretty much on, except me. I never signed up. Hehe
So because stacey I sit in the front of the row, people walking by can see our names they look her up ans send her random, somewhat harassing messages. At least I think of the messages as harassment. Especially after she told the guy she is with someone. That should have ended the dialogue. Seems this one is a bit more tenacious.. Rodd and I have no plans or a clue where we will be for halloween. It'a possible that my friend Jen will hang with us since her husband is currently in boot camp and then headed off to A school. She is going to try and go see him for halloween, but money is one issue and whether or not he can get an off base pass |
haha I hated trying for Scott to get an off base pass, or even for him to trade duty with someone so he could spend time with us. When he was on the boat it was horrible. I was able to drive down to a couple of their port stops, but people refused to trade with him even if they had nothing to do that day, becasue they didn't think he deserved to be off the boat or some bull shit like that. :/ I swear he would trade with people when their family came so they could spend time with them! I Don't know why so many people in the military are dicks. I'm SOOOO happy I don't have to deal with as much of it now though. >.> Tomorrow Scott gets promoted to E-5. Generally people in the E-5+ ranks are better than the E-4 and below since they're people that choose to stay in the military instead of going in for the 4/6 years and getting out while being miserable about it the entire time. Now he's also going to be in charge of some of the butt heads. total win. <3
She should report the messages to someone. I would consider them harassment too. |
Rodd is an E-5 right now and he still is getting out in october. This command has pretty much burnt him out with the navy and all their damn shenanigans. I don't blame him, everything they can do to make his life hell they have. Since we've been married there has only been one weekend he hasn't been on watch or duty. It blows
The Navy is larger so they screw their people more often. Part of why I like the coast guard so much more. They work with us through a lot of things, we get great benefits and even on his volunteer deployment to the gulf to help with the oil spill he was only there for a week instead of the 30 days they wanted him there. There are days when I want to say screw it all, but at the same time we're taken really good care of because of the Coast Guard that leaving would be a bad idea.
If he hadn't. Just done a deployment he would gladly stay in, but the they are getting ready to deploy again in november. He doesn't want to be gone again for another 9 months.
I don't blame him. I'd hate to be gone for that long as well. Shortly after Scott and I got married he had a 2 month deployment, was home for a little over a month with duty every weekend and no sliders, and then left again for another 2 month patrol. By the time our 1 year anniversary came around we'd spent about 4 and a half of the 12 months of the year together. It was sad. More than that though was that he'd only spent the 4 and a half months with his almost 1 year old daughter too. >.<
I couldn't be happier with him being in aviation now. They get to volunteer for deployments, or if they're called out for something it's not more than a week of being gone. Total win. Granted the two months of his deployments on the boat are nothing like the 6-9 months Rodd was being deployed for...though I've been through that with my dad being in the Navy as well. |
Queen!! Nice to see you. Of course I don't come around much either sadly.
Well I do have to say (not to change the military subject) that Elise's therapy does seem to be coming along better than expected. She was on her knees on the floor and put one foot down and was trying to stand up on her own without holding on to anything. That was too exciting. I didn't see her do it but Jess and my roommate did. |
awwww that's awesome Roo. :3 See? Nothing to worry about. She'll be walking on her own soon enough (okay, maybe not soon enough for Jess, but sooner rather than later? xD) It's awesome that her therapy is helping so much already.
Yes it's a great feeling. They are at therapy right now actually and I'm anxious to know how it goes.
lol, I'm sure it's going well. (:
*pounces Jess* are you even around anymore??? |
Yeah Im about - Elise has been sick for the past 4 days. Just been busy is all with her therapy and whatnot. I will stop in more often
I've been bad at posting as well
Awww, anything in particular she got sick with?
My oldest has an eye infection/sinus infection that she's dealing with right now and has been for the past couple of days as well. I haven't heard of many other kids being sick lately though. ^^;; |
She seems to have some type of flu bug which is actually going around here.
Ugh, I hate the flu. They've started giving the flu shots here...I'm considering making an appointment to get them for my kids/me right now.
With not having kids I'm not up on the shots and things we have available here.
You spend time with Jess's kids though Roo. Kids have a habit of catching things from other kids and passing it on to their parents. xD That's why I spent the first...3 months of this pregnancy sick. D:
