haha - yeah - I guess having a baby there would make it difficult

morquarwen 02-01-2008 02:21 PM

Morning ladies!! Its not that I really mind the shopping, its going at night these days. By 9 Im so tired I dont want to go anywhere, but I really didnt have a choice. And Im glad I went because we got hit with an ice storm, school was cancelled and there is ice everywhere. My street is a mess, but the main roads are clear.

And oh wow I love the CI's for the month!! Alas I probably will have to quest for them, but thats ok, just more things to add to my list lol

Melody 02-01-2008 02:24 PM

Sia- yeah, babies tend to squish things if they have them in reach. or throw them out of the cart...Scott almost lost his wallet once leaving it up there with them. lol.

Jess- eep. Ice storms...just the name scares me!

siaasgn 02-01-2008 02:25 PM

That would of been bad, having them toss his wallet like that - they also like to add stuff to the cart when you're not looking if I recall

Luckily we didn't get the ice storms where I am - but they were really close by. A lot of school in the surrounding counties are closed or have delays to get the roads salted.

I've just got a lot of rain right now.

Melody 02-01-2008 02:28 PM

Only if you put the cart close enough to the isles. Or if the toddler isn't in the cart we end up with random things added by her XD

We have a bit of a light rain right now. >.<

roocee 02-01-2008 02:40 PM

Oh yes, it starting freezing around 2am. The grass looks like an ice rink and the trees look crystalized. Looks kind of pretty actually.

Melody 02-01-2008 02:42 PM

O: pictures! XD I've never seen an icy world...

morquarwen 02-01-2008 02:45 PM

I can call Tab and have her take some pictures today before it all melts. It's supposed to warm up to about 41 so if I catch her early she should be able to take some in time

siaasgn 02-01-2008 02:47 PM

It's funny - snow and ice storms really are pretty to look at - but suck hard core when you have to try and function and leave the house.

Glad you all got to where you need to safely

morquarwen 02-01-2008 02:50 PM

In a way Im glad school is closed. No one takes care of their sidewalks around here, and I was actually considering keeping Toni home. Too risky because she could have fallen, or even me, which is something I really dont need right now. Granted we have insurance but thats no excuse for lazy people. I mean not even the church where her stop is is really quick about salting the sidewalk. Snow is one thing, ice is another. At least with snow you have a bit of traction

siaasgn 02-01-2008 03:03 PM

I know we have a hard time taking care of our sidewalk before we leave for work - but we usually try to take care of it as soon as possible.

A lot of time us and our direct neighbors are the only sidewalks on the block that get cleared :/

roocee 02-01-2008 03:11 PM

I hate that. I don't have a sidewalk where our house is. We live back a lane off the main road and are sort of away from everyone.

morquarwen 02-01-2008 03:13 PM

Well if I would have fallen I would have sued lol. I know some one who know 3 awesome attorneys ;)

siaasgn 02-01-2008 03:20 PM

I think people are generally allowed something like 24 hours after the snow or whatever starts falling to clear their sidewalks - or something (at least - I'm pretty sure that's what we get here)

I do agree that a school or business should not open if they haven't cleared and salted.

I know a few weeks ago we went to this restaurant that had ice on their steps - I said something about someone was going to fall on the way in and not 5 minutes later someone slipped on the stairs - had to call an ambulance for her too - it was crazy.

morquarwen 02-01-2008 03:23 PM

even if they did have 24 hours to remove it, it would still sit. And then there is this pipe that runs along the side of the road, its a drain pipe. And all the water that runs out of it runs onto the road and freezes half to road. Thats they city's problem and they refuse to do anything about it

siaasgn 02-01-2008 03:24 PM

Boo bad city maintenance - that stinks

morquarwen 02-01-2008 03:42 PM

Well here you go guys. Its raining so I dont know how well you will be able to see. I think they turned out ok though. Oh and I snuck one of Elise in there too :D

Elise is a bit blurry because they scanned too dark, so Tab took a picture of it. You can still make her out though

Melody 02-01-2008 03:47 PM

awww she looks perfect. (:

and wow, so white...the pictures make me feel cold D:

roocee 02-01-2008 03:49 PM

Yep, that be my back and side yard. The grass just looked strange with no snow and all that ice on it.

Surprisingly, it's warmer outside now so the ice will leave soon. It was just so quiet because the ice muffles sound.

siaasgn 02-01-2008 03:51 PM

I really like the close up of the branches covered in ice - and she's looking perfect!

morquarwen 02-01-2008 03:55 PM

I picked the ones that showed the most. She took some of the ground that didnt show much. She took 2 batches because the first set wasnt what I asked her to do lol

roocee 02-01-2008 04:02 PM

I think they get the idea though.

morquarwen 02-01-2008 04:18 PM

I know that, I just wanted some from a distance is all

Melody 02-01-2008 04:34 PM

lol you two are cute <33
I miss my sister now. ): even if she is annoying and bratty and sometimes really controlling and overly emotional and dramatic.
...
you know after writing that I don't quite miss her as much. But I still wanna see her again before she gets shipped to Iraq >.<

roocee 02-01-2008 04:53 PM

Yeah, it's nice that we live close together. We didn't always get along though.
