I love writing, but self-confidence issues would probably keep me from publishing a book. If I wrote a book, it would be for myself, my family, and my friends. x]

I would love to become a published author, and have a fanbase and everything that an author has to deal with. At this point in time, I have been working on the middle book of a trilogy about my own world, my own characters that I would really like to share with the world. I know its going to take a lot of sweat and tears to get it finished, heck I've been working on this story and the world and characters for over 5 years now.
Half of my problem though, is that I get writers block too much, and I have problems finishing stories. I probably have about a dozen different stories that I've begun, intend to finish but have never gotten around to it. I guess I just have too many things I'd like to develop....ie my artistic, knitting, and writing abilities. I guess I just need to set a little time aside every day to work on each one. |
I have idea's in my head but I really don't think I could ever be a writer. I find writing boring and frankly I'm really not that good at it. I do think I could come up with some pretty good ideas tho.

i don't really dream of writing a book or whatever. . . its just . . . every time i write in my journal i keep thinking that if i die tomorrow that it would be published like the book, "go ask Alise"

Maybe not a novel, but my lover and I had ideas of making a child's story book. We'd kinda correspond with the story, and I'd illustrate it. :) It's just one of those fleeting ambitions though, I think.

I have not only thought of writing a book someday, but I have even started a few stories. I have really cool dreams, but I almost never remember them. However, I write down everything I can remember, and I am trying to piece together a story out of the ones that are similar. My favorite one is the one about a young princess whose father is under a spell so he tries to kill her to revive his lover, who is actually a demon in disguise trying to get royal blood spilled to free her master, an ancient evil god who has been sealed away for thousands of years behind a huge door. I actually have a good chunk of information written out for this story, and have been brainstorming ideas for it for a while now. I don't know if any of my stories will ever make it much further than the archives of my computer though. I have a rather short attention span most of the time, unfortunately for any project that comes my way...

I'd love to be able to write a book.. its always been a dream of mine. My head is full of imaginative ideas, most a bit sci-fi, romantic, shojo than others...
But not all of them, I've got some pretty nice, regular book ideas. But as soon as I start writting a few pages, I blank. I can't control myself and I become distracted. :O Which is really sad, since the last few times I wrote short stories, one for class and another for my aunt, everyone loved them. Apparently, I'm very descriptive, Spanish and English. |
Why? I love books. I love to writer.
Do you think you'd become very famous or win a few awards? No. I'd hate that. Being famous would be no fun. |

There's so many ideas brewing in my head that would make for great plots for novels and stories. I have some unfinished documents on my computer, but I work slowly, but I still somewhat make process. And I lost a bunch of old documents on my old computer. I'm going to miss those old stores :[ |
Yes, I do.. at times.
When I was younger, I wanted to be an author, but the problem was, every time I had a great idea for a story, I would start it, then completely lose interest in it. Simply making them up in my head (and dreaming them up) is so much easier. I struggle with putting my thoughts into words, everything seems to disappear when I try to put pen to paper. |
I'm actually working on a book right now. It's kind of horror/fantasy, actually. It's about demons, but not the kind most people think of. Demons as a species, with good and evil ones. It's awesome.

I have several ideas floating in my mind. However, I too lose interest in writing them after a while. I think eventually I will attempt to develop an idea... Most of my ideas stem from songs. I think too much into meanings and then I try to put characters to them.. it just gets messy.
I like vampire novels, but I never see myself writing one.. If I ever do write anything, I would love to write YA novels. =3 They're my favorite to read, so they might be easier for me to write. |
Me and my friend are writing a story, at first we started for fun but then we kept talking more about it and we got serious. I also started writing a story of my own but I only to that when I'm really bored. xDD Me, I'm more into writing poems, but maybe one day we will become famous authors. xD |
Yes I've tried countless times, not very successfully by the way. If only I could get some more feedback from other people... why doesn't Menewsha have a thread section where you can share stories that you've written yourself? That way people can share stories and criticize other people's work for the better. Arg, I really need to get working on finishing a couple stories I have in my head. Sometimes I literaly dream of the stories =3. Ah well, I'm not that good anyways:sweat:

YES! I've had a story in my head since I was 13 and I'm stilll in the process of writing it down. but wether the book makes it to the public or not, the story has grown so close to my heart that I almost can't bear to hear any criticism. but yes, I still dream of writing that trilogy and many offshoots. whether it'll happen or not I'm not really sure.
the main problem is that I'll get too bored when concentrating on one thing or writer's block hits so everything stops until I finds inspiration again. |

Actually, I do dream about writing a book... somehow. I am kind of obsessed with things you can write or draw with. Like pencils and pens. And I have always liked drawing... but I do have a desire to write a book. I do not consider myself being a good writer... So it would be probably just a little book for me... not really for wide public.

I think it's sad how many people want to be writers but give up because they think they can't make it or don't think they could make a career off of it. Pretty much no writer starts off getting published and even if they do it takes a huge amount of luck to become well known. However, the good thing about writing is that it's always possible to keep it as a hobby no matter what one's current circumstances are.
I'd love to be a novelist one day since I enjoy writing too much to consider it work, but I'm not set on being the next Rowling. I write because I enjoy it and that's enough for me. ;P |
I've written, but not published books. Twisted fairy tales, where the villains were good. I think I've written unpublished books, when I was younger too. I wouldn't put it past myself, I had a gigantic imagination then. I'm thinking of writing a series on Violet Beauregarde from the Gene Wilder version of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. *shoots warning look at any Violet-haters on here* Be nice! I think I'll settle for fan fiction, because I don't want to be guilty of plagiarism. I would like to be a novelist one day, though.

I have thought that I would be able to write a book but I can never stick with a story. I once started one from a dream I had several years ago (wow just made myself feel old). But because I couldn't come up with an ending I never finished it. So it sits in my memory until the story rewrites itself with an ending. If I'm ever able to write a book, I don't think the fame is why I would write. I would write for the love of readers. To encourage those to lift books to there faces.

I write books all the time, 3 at time sometimes. I dream of getting them published. I love to write, its something to do and I enjoy doing it. Writing books is what I want to do with my life. I'd write under a pen name though, just to be safe.

I write a lot and I have one idea for a novel where the first draft is in the progress of being finished, but it isn't REALLY going to be published. Probably not :P
So, yeah, I do dream of publishing a book. It's possible :) |
