Let me borrow that top! D:

Okay, we all know THAT song. XD Well, I has a question for you guys: how do you feel about friends borrowing clothes?

Whenever one of my friends stays over at my house (I'm looking in your direction, PeachesDied!) sometimes I lend her some jeans and a shirt of mine to wear if she doesn't have a change of clothes with her already. One of my sweaters look better on her than it does on me! :x Sometimes it's kind of weird though, seeing her in a full outfit of mine. XD;

And in my wardrobe, I have a few t-shirts that my buddy Mango gave me to have. One of them is a blue shirt that looks layered, and it has Ralph Wiggum on the front dressed as a police man, and a caption that says "My Daddy Likes Donuts!" I love that shirt, and she gave it to me a few years back because 1. she didn't wear it very often and 2. it was too big for her. xD So I gladly took it off her hands.

Discuss borrowing your friends' clothes and the other way around. And stuff. <<;

THAT TOP IS MINE BECH!
The only person I let borrow my clothes is my sister. . .although I don't really have any friends either.

Sisely 02-11-2008 07:40 AM

Last time I let my friend Julie borrow jeans and top I never saw them again, now we both live in different states, lol. I really don't mind I suppose, but if it is something I really like, like the dress she borrowed for Halloween and still has :x , I really would like to get it back sometime. So in other words, if you are going to borrow clothes, make sure to return them! After all you are just borrowing them!

Astromantic 02-11-2008 07:41 AM

Aw, I don't have a sister. XD Sometimes I wear my brother's clothes around the house because they're big and comfy though. o: Once I wore his "NO MA'AM" shirt from Married With Children to school, just for shits and giggles. (:

@Sisely~ Aww, that sucks. ): And yes, if you're borrowing clothes from a friend, if they didn't say you could have it, you should return them when you're done. @[email protected];

Winter Wind 02-11-2008 07:41 AM

I'm a hypocrite about this.
I like borrowing people's clothes, but I hate lending mine.
xD;;;

Master Wild Mage 02-11-2008 07:42 AM

My friends and I do it all the time. There have been very few instances that friends have stayed the night at and there was nothing borrowed at all. I actually own PJ's that I don't wear they're simply for friends to borrow when needed. If I were to give those to them though, they'd end up forgetting them and have to borrow others of mine. >.<

Astromantic 02-11-2008 07:46 AM

@Winter Wind~ Lol, that's understandable. XD Like Sisely said, there's that chance that you'll never see your clothes again.

@Master Wild Mage~ Now there's an idea. o: Don't they do that in Japan too where they have an unused clothing item specifically for guests?

mewmew07 02-11-2008 07:46 AM

I don't lend anyone my clothes or borrow from anyone.I don't really hang out iwth my friends, so none of this goes on.

You don't even borrow clothes from anyone in your family? O:

Caroline 02-11-2008 07:50 AM

I don't mind my friends borrowing my clothes if they are the same size as me or smaller. Otherwise, I'm afraid they'll stretch out my clothes, and it's awkward because I don't want to tell them the reason why I won't let them borrow something. :/

Astromantic 02-11-2008 07:57 AM

I never really have that problem. XD;

Sisely 02-11-2008 07:58 AM

Even if I still lived or lived closer to my family, I couldn't borrow clothes from my sister. She may be younger then me (she's going to be 21 on Valentines Day and I'm 23) but she's alot bigger then me

Amo_Angelus 02-11-2008 07:59 AM

I often borrowed my best friend from colleges clothes. She liked to dress me up. I remember one time she'd been down and her mom came to college and invited me over for the night. No change of clothes or anything. So my friend dressed me up after college (Who wants to wear clothes AFTER you've spent an entire day in them and done drama in them?), gave me night clothes and dressed me up for college the next day too.

It was wonderful! She has a few of my old clothes too, including some I really loved and were really expensive.

Master Wild Mage 02-11-2008 08:00 AM

@kiwizzle- I have no clue. Mostly these are just things I don't wear as much as I used to.

As far as letting siblings borrow clothes it's not always as safe as you'd think. A friend of mine has an older sister that it seems every time she borrows something it always comes back in worse shape than when it was before hand. She has no problem letting more borrow things but she hates seeing her clothes disappear into her sister's room. When I have them, they may be gone for a week or so. When her sister has them she may never see them in the same condition again.

Astromantic 02-11-2008 08:07 AM

@Sisely~ Maybe you could borrow them just to sleep in then? ^^; But I guess it depends on how much bigger.

@Jayms_fallen_angel~ Aww, dress up. xD I take it your friend had a great sense of style then? (:

@Master Wild Mage~ I think I saw them do that in various Japanese movies. <_<; *is a weeaboo* Anyway... wow, your friend's sister is very irresponsible then! D: Even if you're borrowing from a sibling, you should still take better care of it. Boo on her. D<

MidnightRun 02-11-2008 08:07 AM

I don't really borrow and lend that much. o.o Maybe something comfy and oversized when my pjs are washing from my parents, but that's almost pretty much it. XD

For the times I have lent, it was no big deal for me, they all returned it before the end of the day. XD

blitzy 02-11-2008 08:28 AM

I don't tend to lend clothes that often and my friends are all a different size so it doesn't work with us. Even when I do lend clothing it is usually only to a good friend. I use to work at a camp and we would lend clothes to each other but you could easily track things down (which is the only way I'll lend my stuff out).
I'm a bit uncomfortable lending out my clothes since I had a classmate who lent out the shirt I lent to her and I only found out when I saw my friend told me that my classmate had lent her friend a shirt. When I finally got the shirt back it had a lipstick stain on it. So I don't trust people much after that.

remaja 02-11-2008 08:33 AM

oh xD i always borrowing my sister's top everytime she buys a new one xD
she sometimes kinda hate it xD
but but she could do nothing about it cos she borrow my top most of the time xD

good thing i have the same size with her xD

memarcus 02-11-2008 08:37 AM

me and my friends don't have the same size so it would be difficult to share clothes, but i do remember my friend had a garage sale and was nice enough to hand over some nice clothes she no longer wanted. i have a couple really good outfits now because of her. :D

Sagitar 02-11-2008 08:50 AM

I don't have really that much friends.. the only ones I have I barely see, and they don't fit my size anyways ^^;

The Wandering Poet 02-11-2008 08:58 AM

I wouldn't be able to wear any of my friend's cloths even if they live near me... since they're all girls >.< (I'm a guy... wearing girl cloths... or even someone else's cloth would be awkward >.<)

Striped Chocolate 02-11-2008 09:16 AM

Bleh...

I don't let my friends borrow my clothes, unless it's a emergency or something. >.< Though my sister is free to borrow my clothes that fit her well. Plus, she really needs new clothes.

s w e e t 02-11-2008 09:20 AM

my friend and i have never lend clothes for each other..
u know why? because we are allll not the same size XD
i'm tall and considered slim, my friends are all short, but there's one so skinny, one normal, another one is a bit fat...so we can't possibly share clothes XD
though we share other stuffs, like foods mostly ;P

cerise_reves 02-11-2008 09:24 AM

I wouldn't have half my wardrobe if I didn't swap clothes with my friends.
Mostly it's my best friend. She'll tell me to come over, and I'll tell her I don't have any clothes, and she'll say, "...and since when has that ever been a problem?" It's funny, because even when I do take my own clothes, I hardly wear them. A lot of the time I'll borrow things from her closet, and a number of times she's just let me take the clothes home. It works both ways though, because she's probably got a crapload of my clothes as well. :]

I don't like it when my little sister borrows my clothes though, mostly because she does so without asking, and it's always my nice dresses that I have for special or serious occasions.

Renchan 02-11-2008 09:55 AM

I don't mind with three people, my two best girlfriends and my best boyfriend. I know they don't stink, do icky stuff in them, and that they will be careful with my stuff.
I never really got why people are always so scared of their friends loaning their clothes. Maybe because of germs, but what kind of germs can you get through clean clothes?
