Board Games/ Card Games
I see in the media posts that everyone is playing on the computer or Playstation(XBox,etc) or handheld games.
So, my question is, Does anyone still play board games or card games? If so, What ones do you play? I like to all kinds of card games. As for board games, I sill like to play Monopoly and Life, eventhough you can play them on the computer. The computer is a little different than the board game. |
I love Monopoly, but nobody in my house will play it with me.
I like snakes and ladders to. I have a odd 3D version which is a giggle. I'm not very good a card games, in fact i can only play Pontoon. |
Monopoly is a lot of fun, I've always loved that game, but you can get that game for just about any videogame system these days, which is kind of amusing.
I actually asked for and got a board game for christmas, it's a special board game based around the Call of Cthulhu role playing game. It's totally awesome, but it was very expensive xp It's so detail oriented, it makes it a lot of fun to just mess around with it by yourself, although technically, you *can* play it by your self, I just haven't cause it seems kind of dorky... to play a board game by yourself, what the hell. |

I also play Solitaire a lot, but that's kind of a computer game because I'll only play that while I'm on my computer. I've never actually seen someone play Solitaire with actual cards. Speed and Poker are a lot of fun too and I'll play those occasionally with my sister or my cousins. And I would definitely play Old Maid if I could find my cards for it. (Or I guess you could play with a normal deck and a Joker, but that's not as much fun as the kiddie version). I think those are all of the card games that I still play, but I love board games! I'm not going to list all the ones that I love because it would take way too long. I'll just settle for naming some of my favorites. Everyone loves Monopoly at the beginning of the game, but it starts to drag later on and I'll find myself cheating just to lose earlier. It's just not a fun game if you know you're going to lose and you're sitting there with that mentality for hours. xD;; I really like Sorry, Mouse Trap, and Risk. Has anyone played the Star Wars version of Risk? It's so much fun... especially once Order 66 is called. :twisted: And what's the name of that Hippo game where you try to eat all of the little pebbles? And the monkey game where you catapult them onto the tree branches? |
I like card games like 'Rice Man, Pore Man' and 'Cheat'. But I do not get to play them vary often.
I like board games like 'Go' which is kinda like Chest but not, and 'Clue'. But again I do not get to play vary often. Not because I do not have time but because any one I would play with never have time to play them when I do. |
I used to play Rummy a lot. (Rummie? I don't know how it's spelled. I never had to write it before. xD) My whole family did, along with friends. We had a 'game night' kind of thing going on, but just with cards. I used to be able to play poker, but it's been so long that I'm not sure if I could now. Oh, and there's always War and Uno.
As for board games, I've always loved Monopoly. Clue and Sorry are pretty cool too, but I don't think we have Sorry any more. It got ruined somehow...Some of the old trivia games can be pretty fun too, so long as you actually know the questions. I played a real old trivia game once that must have been made ten years before I was born because I knew nothing. That was a sucky hour. |
Oh, right, Clue. I can't believe I forgot about that one. It's one of the best! >.<
And wtf... how could I forget War? It's the only game I play with my sister on long plane flights. It entertains us the entire time... |

I still like them a lot! I love board games and card games though I rarely play them >_>. The computer is much more addicting ^.^

My friends and I still play the Family Guy trivia board game and it's a lot of fun. <3 And then my brother somehow gets me into playing some sort of card game with him in which he usually wins but that's because I'm unenthusiastic. XD Pokemon Sorry! used to be one of my favorite games as a kid and recently I played that with a bunch of friends of mine who *like me* still hold onto Pokemon in some way. Board games are still fun and usually a nice change from the tv/comp screen. Would you rather, is another fun one

We gave our board games away years ago xD I play checkers and Chinese checkers online though, and solitaire on my phone. Just shows how modern games are all starting to involve technology xD

I really enjoy playing board roleplay games. It's something very exciting. I'm plannin to play Magic The Gathering as well, as soon as I'll get cards.

I love card games. Bullshit, Egyptian Rat Screw, and good old Go Fish! I love Uno too. My grandparents and I can stay up all night playing card games. Good times~

You know all card games played by a single person are solitaire games, that word does not actually the name of any specific game. Although the computers now use it as a name and people blindly follow it. Your "solitaire" is actually named "Klondike solitaire"
Anyways, things I play with actual cards: Solitaire games: Clock Klondike Pyramids Golf Poker (Yes poker solitaire is real) Multi-player Cheat Fish Pontoons Black jack Plus a few that I can't remember the names to... Board games? Does chess count? I play chess. |
I don't know, I barely plays those types of games anymore. The only time I play it is when I'm on vacation with other families [Skiing, hiking, camping, etc.]. There's always this one family, and they bring UNO. Uno is practically our "traditional" game when we're on vacation and have nothing better to do. Also, sometimes when we're staying at a place, there are board games, and once again, when we're board, we might take them out. My absolute favorite game would be the Game of Life. It's just awesome, except the last time I've played that was 3 years ago at my neighbor's/sister's friend's house. There are also some card games like Spit and others that I can't think of at this moment but my favorite out of board games and card games would be the Game of Life still :]

I love to play board games, it's just hard to get people to play with me. My favorites are Monopoly and Clue, though I do like a good game of Chutes and Ladders every so often.

I recently just learned how to play monopoly..yes I know, it is sad. Anyways, me and my friend have been playing it from time to time, and I played it with my mom and aunt.

I think that I still stick with the idea of Monopoly. I love playing on my NDS Lite and Wii, but the true classics still remain in our hearts.^ ^

My sister and I love to play speed with each other. I don't usually play with her because she all mad when I win. She even kicks me! -.-
We also play egyptian wrap. She LOVES to play that game because she always win. She such a sore loser sometimes. >.< |

I'm not much of an electronic's gamer (other than the computer... and even still, that's every minimal. xD;;<3). Whenever I try playing a Playstation or my brothers XBOX or whatever, I tend to think that my character (it's usually one of those... highly graphic action games? --shrugs-- ) and I will actually DIE if I don't make the jump from cliff to cliff. Haha. <33 And I really don't know how to chose awesome games anyway. Haha. <3 xD;; I really like the Legend of Zelda games though. <333 Anyway, I like card games more than board games. Haha. Mainly because I can bring a deck of cards with me whenever I want, but I can't always grab a boardgame and bring it with me. Haha. <33 I wish I knew how to play more card games though.<3 |
I'm not all that great at card games. I forget the rules, and I have to ask my friends. After a while, I finally figured that they were teaching me false rules so that they could win.I kind of gave up on card games now, haha. The only one I know how to play is "Go Fish", and "Blackjack". Or mebbe "Chance". "Speed" is also nice when nobody screams SPEED louder than they should. Otherwise my ears hurt. D: |

Well, I don't play many board games since I don't have a lot of other people at my house, but I do play card games. I especially like "Speed" and "Go Fish" XD.

I never play any video games so the board and card games are my favorite. American Monopoly and the original are fun. I love card games and a game of checkers any day.
