LaRae was thankful at least that she had managed to keep her mind off Nanashi being sick for a little while, especially since there wasn't really anything that she could do to make him feel better. She gave a soft sigh after listening to Celestine and then glanced over to him briefly when he leaned his head against her again. This time she didn't bother saying anything about his niceness being strange and she just turned her head away slightly. It didn't bother her that he was leaning his head on her, it was just strange at first. She gave a weak nod when he said Hikari or someone else could check on him if he got worse and that he wouldn't get too worried. That certainly was easier said then done. She cared about Nanashi a lot, so of course she was going to worry uncontrollably. "...I'm not really sure there is too much anyone can do if he's just sick with a cold or something. Well... other then making sure that he's comfortable." She said quietly. With colds, and or fevers she'd only ever thought that being comfortable and getting plenty of rest was the best that could be done. It was just a matter of waiting it out until it passed. She heaved a heavier sigh. "I really do hope that he gets better soon..." She mumbled quietly.
Aamori had finally managed to get Hisako to leave her alone about her leg. Hisako had other work to do, and she needed to check up on Yoichi so she'd left Aamori's room and headed back down to the lower level a little bit ago. Aamori had already finished brushing out her hair and was slipping her other sleeve on while she headed out of her room. She was in a slightly better mood now though she was annoyed with Hisako's hovering. She stepped out of her room, shutting the door behind her this time and then headed to the courtyard to pick up her book. Since she wasn't allowed to start working on the spell itself until she was given an okay by medical she figured she could at least reread some of the other stuff written down about the spell. That was better then doing nothing and saved her from being chewed out by Hisako when she came back out here and she wasn't doing anything. She returned to the fountain and sat down on the edge of it after picking up her book and flipping back to the chapter on the spell she was working on. |
Celestine nodded a little. "...Maybe..." he said quietly, "I don't know a whole lot about that sort of thing... From what I've always understood half breeds have a weak immune system so...I guess this probably does happen to him a lot. He'll be okay, I'm sure." He said simply, "...do you think he would get upset if I checked in on him later?" he asked. He thought she may know better than he would if Nanashi would care for visitors. He had come to like Nanashi quite a lot while they were at the house, or at least enough that he had wanted to stay in touch with him. "Or do you think he would rather be left to you?" He raised his head a little when he noticed Aamori coming back to the courtyard again and then sighed before he leaned his head back against LaRae's shoulder again and closed his eyes. "...Why do I have a feeling the next two days are gong to be a pain?" he muttered quietly.
|
LaRae gave a slight nod after he said that half breeds had weak immune systems. She didn't know a whole lot about half breeds and Nanashi was actually the first she'd really come into contact with. She could only imagine what it must be like to be getting sick frequently. She glanced down briefly when Aamori had come out of her room and then looked back up. She honestly couldn't say for sure whether or not Nanashi wanted visitors. She guessed if anyone went to check on him and it wasn't her, he might be more comfortable with it being Celestine out of everyone. "I don't think he'd mind... especially since he checked on you as much as he did when you weren't well." She answered finally. She couldn't say that Nanashi wouldn't be happy that someone else was worried about him, after all he'd gone a good chunk of his life if not all of it without someone who truly cared. She sat quietly for a moment and then glanced over to him while he was rested against her shoulder. "...What makes you think that?" She asked quietly.
|
Celestine sighed softly, "Well...Nanashi is sick and Aamori apparently got herself into trouble her first day back so now she has today and tomorrow to master a summoning spell or she's grounded to her room and someone else is coming with us. Meanwhile we're all stuck here with her idiot brother to deal with." He sighed and shook his head slightly. "...I guess I could leave again, but I still want to keep an eye on Aamori and make sure she doesn't break anything. Besides...if she screws this up...it's going to be a while before I get to see her again." He sighed again and finally raised his head again and put his chin back on his knee again while he stared down at the court yard.
|
LaRae listened to what Celestine was saying and looked down at Aamori briefly while he talked about what she had to do. She really wasn't aware of any of that but that was because her and Nanashi had been out for a portion of the day and then were in bed pretty early. She kind of wondered what Aamori had done to get in trouble, and so soon after being back here. She shook her head when he mentioned that they were stuck here with her brother. Yoichi might not be that bad of a person to be around if he'd just stop flirting with everyone he was attracted to. "...I think I'd much rather enjoy my stay here if I wasn't avoiding her brother every chance I got." She muttered quietly. She looked back over at him when he lifted his head off of her again. She gave a slight smile hearing him say that he actually wanted to keep an eye on Aamori and he was even a little concerned with not getting to see her again if she couldn't master the spell. She was quiet for a moment and then chuckled lightly. "It's kind of funny... the way you and her used to be, when we all first got together. Looking at you two then, I'd never guess you'd actually want to be around her now." Then again.. she would have never guessed that he'd even put up with any of them, but that was only based off of a first impression.
|
Celestine glanced back to her again and sighed softly when she said that she couldn't believe that he would want to be around her now after the way that they had been at first. He looked away again and sighed. "...Before...I didn't know what to think. I didn't want to get close to her or anyone else. I'd been living up there on that mountain by myself for so long...I just didn't know what to do with her. I don't even know what made me go to that festival. I just came down and went to a town for a few minutes and happened to hear some people talking about it...so I thought 'sure, why not.' Then after I got there...I mean...I was just curious, I didn't think that I was going to get roped into anything like this. I just intended to go home. I still intended to just go home after all of this crap is over with, and I knew everyone else was, too, so I just didn't want to get to know anyone. I've always had problems making friends, and I've always had trouble letting go, so... I just didn't want to deal with it when it was all said and done." He didn't bother to look at her while he was talking, "...Plus, she was getting on my nerves... The very first night she was on my case about my sleeping habits and wouldn't leave me alone. So yeah...I guess I wasn't too thrilled..." He sighed again and half smiled, "...But after a while, things grow on you...whether you like it or not..."
|
LaRae glanced over at Celestine briefly while he was talking and then looked away by the time he had finished. She could understand his reasoning for not wanting to get to know any of them especially if by the end of this everyone just went back to their separate lives. That would make it seem like any effort put forth was a waste of time and energy but there also was no real guarantee that things would just go back to the way they were before all of this started. Though she didn't always believe that. "I don't think it's easy for anyone to let go... well... except maybe Nero." She paused and shook her head lightly. "I'll be surprised if he makes nice with any one of us.." She uttered. She looked back over to him for a moment. "...I didn't really want to get close to anyone either ...that plan kind of went down the drain though." She admitted. "My reasons are a bit different than yours, however." She paused. "...I didn't want anyone to have the chance to like me and be my friend just by chance I don't get proper control over my powers by the time we're done and I have to return home." She gave a heavy sigh and hunched over slightly. "...Should that be the case and I return home to Medini, it will more than likely be a fact that no one sees me again..." She muttered quietly. She really hadn't given that too much thought lately. She'd started enjoying going day to day without it plaguing her thoughts; Though of course it was still there somewhere. Thinking about it now, she grew somewhat depressed. She didn't want to go home if this marking and her powers weren't under control. She'd grown to like things the way they were and she didn't want to lose anything. She gave another sigh and looked down in the courtyard. "Aamori's a little persistent isn't she?"
Aamori had continued to sit quietly on the edge of the fountain just rereading the chapter of the spell she needed to work on. She hadn't even noticed LaRae and Celestine, that was probably because she couldn't hear them. She happened to glance up from her book when she heard the entrance doors open. She started to close the book seeing as it was the head medical specialist, finally. She set the book down on the edge and then started over to the medical office after the guy had gone inside. If anything she was at least going to listen to Hisako while she was here to yell at her should she not do what she was told. She was inside the office for a few minutes, long enough for the guy to take a look at her marks and the rash for lack of better words on her leg. When Aamori came back out of the office the marks on her shoulder and her arm were gone and the rash on her leg had subsided considerably but it was still there. She started back to the courtyard and stretched a bit when she got to the grass. She hadn't been too bothered by the marks when she went in. They didn't hurt anymore and they'd probably have gone away on their own relatively quickly but Hisako wanted her to have them taken care of. She gave a small sigh and glanced towards the door to go downstairs. Once Hisako was told by the medical specialist that she was good to go, she could start working on that spell again. |
Celestine raised his head off of his knee again and looked at her silently while she spoke. His ears fell back slightly when she said that if she got home without being able to control her powers that no one would see her again. He didn't know exactly what she meant, but from what he knew of her clan and what he had heard her saying earlier, he could venture an educated guess. He sighed and closed his eyes, looking away from her again in time to see Aamori leaving the court yard. "..." He just watched her go and then leaned his head back over against LaRae's shoulder and nuzzled her lightly. "...Don't tell me that..." he muttered quietly, though obviously it was already a little too late. That was really the last thing that he wanted to hear when he was finally starting to get used to her. He was even kind of starting to realize that they had quite a lot in common. He looked back down to the court yard when she mentioned Aamori's persistence and huffed, "Feh...that may be an understatement." He muttered quietly. He stared down at the courtyard for a few moments, watching as Aamori came back out to the grass and then sighed quietly and closed his eyes.
|
LaRae smiled weakly and turned her head slightly to look at Celestine for a moment after he had leaned his head against her once more. She didn't care for telling people about that and judging by what he had responded with he must have gotten what she was subtly hinting at. Well at least that saved her from having to go into any explanation. She continued to sit there quietly for a moment longer after having watched Aamori leave the courtyard and return. "...I think I'm finally realizing that even if it's hard or painful to let people go..." She paused. "I'd much rather enjoy the time I have with them, getting to know them than to not even bother at all." When this whole trip started her whole out look was different and she wouldn't have even given friendship with any of them a second thought. She really had wanted to avoid hurting anyone including herself should the worst come from her return home. At least now she'd started to accept the idea of any and all of them as friends and if she could manage to control her powers before she returned home, then she wouldn't have missed out on being friends with any of them. Whereas if she'd stuck to her original thought process and managed to control her powers she'd go home kicking herself in the rear for not taking advantage this chance to get to know any of them.
Aamori gave a small sigh when she realized that she may be waiting on the okay from Hisako for a while. It didn't look like the specialist was in any hurry to go down and talk to her. Then again she had also hurried right in and got him to have a look at her before he could even get settled. She stood there for a few moments longer before she gave another sigh and started to look up at the sky through the opening in the building. Her eyes trailed off when she noticed feet dangling from the top. She moved a little more to the center of the courtyard and looked up again to see who was up there. She was pretty surprised to see LaRae and Celestine up there and... together. She couldn't hear them and couldn't see them too well because the roof was pretty high up but she could at least make out who it was and she assumed that they were getting along since they were sitting close to one another. She was a little curious as to what prompted those two to be together because that really wasn't something that you usually saw. |
Celestine opened his eyes slightly and glanced over to LaRae again before he half smiled. "...Yeah...I...I guess so." he said quietly. He sighed softly and sat there for a few moments before he raised one arm and wrapped it around her back for a moment. "...Thanks..." he said quietly. He was actually kind of glad that they had talked...though he would have been thankful for a decent talk from nearly anyone. He stayed that way for a moment until he happened to look down and saw Aamori looking up at them. He blushed slgihtly and then lowered his arm and sat away from her again. Well that was a little awkward. he wondered just how much of them Aamori was able to see. "...I mean...you know...thanks for talking and...stuff." he said, looking away again. He crossed his arms over his chest again and sighed softly before he stretched and then laid back, letting his legs remain hanging over the edge where they were. "....."
|
LaRae smiled a little after Celestine put his arm around her back and said thanks. She felt better about putting herself out there to talk to him seeing as he'd said thanks, and was being pretty nice. When he lowered his arm and sat away from her she looked over at him. Well, he seemed to be acting like his usual self again and so suddenly. She gave a small sigh and then started to turn her eyes down to the courtyard. It wasn't until she did that, that she noticed Aamori was staring up at them. That must have been what he saw. She shook her head lightly and glanced back at Celestine briefly. "...Technically, I think I should be thanking you." She paused. "After all... you didn't have to speak to me and it was kind of nice." She said quietly. She stretched her arms up over her head for a moment and then set her hands down on the edge of the roof. "Oh... as for her brother... you're not alone in not wanting to be around him." She paused and shook her head lightly. "Since Nanashi wasn't with me, I hid until her brother wasn't around." She muttered quietly. She didn't mind Yoichi too much, but his flirtatiousness was enough to make her hide. She sat there for a moment longer before looking down at Aamori again. "...Well... it was nice while it lasted but I think I'm going to go assure Aamori everything is fine and maybe pester the cooks." With that she pushed herself off the edge of the roof, sliding off easily enough. She let herself fall most of the way and then let her wings slide open and catch her before she'd have hit the ground. Once she touched down she shut her wings tightly at her back and started a bit closer to Aamori.
Aamori had continued to stare up at them, still unable to really see well from where she was standing. It wasn't really a matter that they were far away, it was more the angle she was looking up at. The building was pretty large and it was a little taller than two stories. So from her angle she could see their legs and just barely the tops of their heads if they weren't leaning back. She tilted her head to the side slightly. She was at least able to tell that they were close enough to be touching. If her wings were strong enough she probably would've already gone up to see what was going on but she'd tried to get that high before and failed miserably. She was finally about to look away and find something else to do when LaRae slid off of the roof and touched down. She looked over at her and smiled slightly when she started to come over. She glanced back up briefly and then focused on LaRae again. "...When did you two start getting along?" She asked quietly while glancing away. She wasn't really sure what was going on but it was weird seeing them alone together considering how Celestine had treated her in the past. She'd also never admit to it but she was kind of a little jealous. She'd have liked to have been sitting up there with him. LaRae looked at Aamori and quirked a brow slightly seeing her look away after her question. "I'm not sure we're really getting along... for good just yet." She paused. "We were just talking and you wouldn't believe how long it took to even get him to talk to me." She said with a slight smile. She couldn't really explain the feeling she was getting but she was rather uncomfortable standing here. Perhaps it was the way Aamori had asked her question and the fact that she wasn't making eye contact. She gave a sigh and then started to turn towards the kitchen. "Don't worry, Aamori. Your brother annoyed him again, I was just giving him an ear." She assumed that maybe Aamori got the wrong impression or something. She stood there for a moment longer. "Well... I'm going to go pester the cooks a little." She said with a small laugh as she then continued on to the kitchen. She'd gotten a brief look at the kitchen yesterday and kind of wanted to see if she could talk the cooks into letting her back there to help or something. She did enjoy cooking and that was certainly a bigger kitchen then she was used to. Aamori started to glance back towards LaRae when she started to answer her. She was kind of relieved to hear that they were just talking. She felt a little silly for being bothered by it but she guessed it was because they were sitting so close together and the last she knew they weren't even talking to one another. She really felt like she had missed something. She gave a sigh when LaRae started to leave to go to the kitchen. She stood there for a moment until she couldn't see LaRae anymore and then started to walk back over to the fountain to sit down and go back to waiting for Hisako. |
Celestine half smiled when she thanked him and then shook his head before he looked at her again, snorting quietly at her remark about Aamori's brother. "Good to know..." he said simply. At least now he knew how she knew he was up here. He nodded to her again when she said that she was going to go let Aamori know that everything was alright and then go bother the cooks. That reminded him...he still needed to get something for Nobu. He raised one hand in a lazy wave before she lipped off of the building and then sighed softly, stretching slightly before he sat up again. He looked down and waited until LaRae had walked off toward the kitchen before he stood up again and took a step back, jumping off of the edge of the building. He fell a good distance befre he opened his wings and glided over the where Aamori was sitting, flapping his wings back once and turning to that he flew back from her a little before he touched down lightly on the grass. "Getting any better?" He asked simply as he put one foot up on the edge of the fountain and rested his arm on his knee while he looked over to her. He was trying to give LaRae time t get out of the kitchen...though had he thought he may have just asked her to get some fruit for him. He wondered if Nobu would even like these fruits. They were a but funny tasting, but all in all they were very good.
|
Aamori lifted her eyes when Celestine touched down and watched as he put his foot on the edge of the fountain. She stared at him for a moment and then looked back towards the door where Hisako would come from. "I don't know yet." She assumed that he was referring to the spell she was learning. She really couldn't say if she'd gotten any better at that yet. After last night she'd probably say no since the snake managed to attack her as much as it had. But she honestly couldn't properly answer that until she tried again. She gave a small sigh and started to lower her eyes slightly. She really was tired of waiting. "...She's taking forever..." She muttered. She at least by now had a little more confidence that she could do this spell. After seeing how far she got with it last night she at least was thinking that she could summon the thing. Mastering it within the time limit however, she was still skeptical.
Hisako did finally make it back up from the lower levels. She exited the door and shut it behind her. She moved through one of the arches and stepped out into the courtyard making her way over towards Aamori and Celestine. "The specialist said you were good to go." She said as she came to a stop near them. "You can start working on the incantation whenever you like." She paused. "However, I've got some work to do outside of the training center so I won't be able to keep an eye on you while you're working on it." She said with a sigh. "Yoichi should be done pretty soon with the work he skipped out on yesterday, so you might get him to come up here for awhile." She glanced down and looked at Aamori's bare feet, only now remembering that her boots were being cleaned. "Oh, and your boots... they'll be brought up when they're finished." She noticed her staff laying on the ground beside the fountain and moved over, kneeling down to pick it up. She held it out to Aamori after she stood up straight again. "You're not supposed to leave this laying around like that." She told her. She wasn't really angry about the staff just laying around, mostly because she was aware that Aamori's holster had been broken. "I'll make sure to get you a new holster while I'm out, something a little nicer that won't break so easily." |
Celestine smiled weakly and shook his head before he put his foot back on the ground and turned around to sit on the fountain beside her. He sighed softly and looked down at the book for a moment before she said that Hisako was taking forever. "Mmhmm..." He sighed and then looked up when Hisako finally got up here. He looked up to her and listened to her when she explained that she couldn't stay to watch and that she could get Yoichi to help her. He made a face at the mention of Yoichi's name that gave away that he would rather not be around for that. He watched her pick up Aamori's staff for her and then sighed, "...Well, since everyone's busy and we don't really have all day...could she just go ahead and get started? I didn't plan to go anywhere." he said simply. He was at least trying to get this show on the road. Hisako already knew that he knew how to heal and he'd given her the idea that he was pretty decent at fighting, so he hoped that would be good enough for now. Well unless there was some secret water technique that he had to know in order to be able to do anything. He couldn't use water magic for obvious reasons, but as far as he saw his own magic was just as good.
|
Aamori looked to Hisako when she had finally come over and listened to her while she spoke. She was a little surprised to hear that Hisako had other work to be doing outside of the training grounds. She had thought this spell she had to master was pretty important so she had expected Hisako to be here while she worked on it. At least she had been around for the other two spells she had to master. She gave a sigh hearing that Yoichi could help in her stead. She liked her brother and all but she didn't really like working on these types of spells in front of him. She took her staff when Hisako handed it to her and set it down in her lap then glanced over to Celestine when he said he didn't plan on going anywhere. If she absolutely had to have someone watching her she'd much rather have it be Celestine. Besides, Yoichi wouldn't be of much help should anything go wrong because he'd be too busy flirting. She really kind of hoped that Hisako wouldn't object.
Hisako looked over at Celestine when he asked his question and said that he didn't plan to go anywhere. It would probably be some time before Yoichi was finished with what he was working on and Aamori did kind of need to start working on the spell. She was a little uncomfortable with the idea of leaving Aamori in Celestine's hands but at least they were on the training grounds and Yoichi would be here. She gave a small sigh and glanced over to Aamori briefly before looking back at Celestine. "...I suppose, since you don't plan on going anywhere." She uttered. "Just make sure she doesn't get hurt and should you not be able to handle this go get Yoichi. Especially in case of an emergency." She said while looking at Celestine. "Oh... and with this particular spell... the creature she'll summon, should she complete a full summon will more then likely be a little unstable at first so she probably won't have full control over it, if any." She paused. "The summoned creature can act of it's free will if she doesn't have the energy to control it completely and it's usually quite prejudice of the other clans so it will more than likely try to attack anyone in the area that isn't of the water clan. So I recommend that no one else be out here when she summons it unless you can protect them too, or they can protect themselves." She told him. "...Another thing. She'll also be learning how to send the creature away but should you need to get rid of it for any reason she should be aware that hitting it hard enough on the head with her staff will make it go away. Otherwise, you just ride it out until the creature has used up all of her energy." She gave a slight nod. "Yeah, I think that about covers it." She said and then started to turn to head for the entrance doors. "Don't forget to get Yoichi or myself should this be too much for you to handle, Celestine." She paused. "And take good care of her. Even though you're not of our clan we can still punish you if you screw this up." She told him with a small laugh as she walked away. |
Celestine looked at Hisako and listened intently in silence. He nodded when she told him to get Yoichi should things prove too hard for him. "Yeah." he said simply. He took in everything that she thought that he would need to know and then nodded again as he stood up. He made a face and rolled his eyes a little when she said that they could still punish him and laughed, "Good to know..." he said before he half smiled and shook his head. "Well be right back, sounds like I'm probably going to want something around to swat this thing with." he said as he went back through the arch. He walked back to the room that he had been using and stepped inside. He walked over to the wall where he had leaned his swallow and grabbed it before leaving the room again and closing the door behind him as he headed back to the courtyard again. He positioned his swallow so that it was leaning against his shoulder as he walked back over to where he had been before. He sighed softly and then just waved his free hand at Aamori in a 'have at it' motion.
|
Aamori sat quietly while Hisako went on telling Celestine everything that she thought he'd need to know. She was surprised that Hisako was actually going to let Celestine keep an eye on her rather than Yoichi. She shook her head lightly when she heard Hisako say that they could punish him if he screwed up. Well at least she said that half way decently. She could've been a lot meaner about that. She watched Hisako until she had passed through the arch made it to the doors to leave. She turned her attention to Celestine when he said he'd be back. She gave a small sigh and watched him head to the room he was using. She briefly thought of telling him that he probably wouldn't need anything but kept the thought to herself. Once Celestine came back with his swallow and waved his hand she nodded slightly and started to stand up after setting her staff down on the fountain. She eyed his swallow for a moment as she started back out towards the stone square floor in the center of the courtyard. "Um... I'm... not so sure that you'll be able to hit it with that." She uttered once she stopped and looked over at him. The creature was made of water after all so most weapons really couldn't do any physical harm to it. Though, the special weapons like her staff that held the cleansed water inside could hit the creature. She stretched her arms a little and then released a heavy sigh. She was a little nervous with the whole summoning thing since Hisako had gone off and reminded her that the creature can and probably would attack anyone who wasn't of their clan. It made sense to her, especially since the creature did have a mind of it's own. The creatures that were summoned were all of the same species but each one was different and unique to it's summoner. She was aware of that and could only hope that she didn't wind up with a difficult creature to deal with. So far though the creature wasn't exactly showing her it's nice side. She shook her head lightly and set the thoughts aside for now. She really just needed to get it summoned and go from there. She finally got around to starting and shut her eyes gently while she lifted her hands and positioned them like she had the last few attempts. Moments later she cracked her eyes open a little as she started the chant. Her eyes were covered over just like before and the ring around her feet appeared along with the immense pressure that could felt near her. She had completely memorized the spell and that was pretty obvious considering how confident she was while saying the words. She had no doubt in the spell. Her ability to control the creature after it was summoned, that was another story. As she was getting further in reciting the spell that familiar ball of water had appeared in between her hands and was slowly growing in size as she continued. She managed getting through the spell and started to open her eyes a little more as she finished the last couple words. Just as she said the last word the ring at her feet seemed to fade and looked as if it was gone but it came flashing back even brighter than before and continued to stay lit up while the water between her hands started moving around. She kept her hands in position loosely and looked at the ball of water as a head formed and then started to slink away from her. As the head moved the ball of water seemed to spin in a circular motion as if the creature was unraveling it's body from the orb. It continued to slink around near her until it's body had fully formed from the orb. Once it had finished the ring at her feet went away and then her eyes went back to normal. Then the creature slithered right back over to her and wrapped itself tightly around one of her arms with it's head towards her shoulder, staring at her. At this moment the creature had no intent to hurt her but that could change abruptly. Right now the creature was inspecting her and making it's own judgment on whether or not she was good enough. It was quite obvious now that the creature was completely formed that it was a rather vicious looking snake made completely of water.
|
Celestine sighed heavily when she told him that he probably couldn't hit it with that. Couldn't she have mentioned that before he walked all the way in there to get the thing? He shook his head and then just shrugged as he moved to stand off to the side a bit, well out of her way but close enough that he could get there quickly should he need to. He remained silent as he stared at the orb while she chanted, though his eyes flickered up to hers for a moment when he noticed the off color change. He blinked and then looked back to the orb again, watching while she finished up the spell and the creature started to form. He couldn't help but smile a little when he actually saw the thing. Well wasn't that ironic? He'd already guessed by the marks that it had left on her that it was going to be a snake, but still it was pretty funny to see...well at lest to him. It would probably scare someone else. For now, he didn't move a muscle, just stared at it in silence, waiting to see what it did and trying his best not to draw attention to himself since he really didn't feel like doing anything to the thin unless he had to.
|
Aamori just kind of stared at the snake coiled around her arm. If she hadn't known what to expect of the creature she probably would've been a little frightened by it's face and the way it was staring at her. She'd only ever seen one of these snakes once before and that was because her Elder had shown her once. She just wished that the snakes didn't have to look like they'd attack you at any given moment. It kind of made it hard to tell if the creature liked you or not. She finally relaxed slightly and gave a small sigh. She was about to look over at Celestine and say something but she paused and looked right back at the snake with a quirked brow. "Nen?" She mumbled questioningly. Nothing had been said but she pretty sure that she had somehow been told that she should call him 'Nen'. She really couldn't explain it, not a single word had been uttered and she didn't hear any thoughts like that one time Celestine had talked to her that way and yet she just kind of knew suddenly that the snakes name was Nen. She wished that the book had covered that because it was just plain weird. If she remembered, she'd have to try and ask about that later. She moved her arm slightly, holding it out from her a little and gave it a slight shake. She was just a little uncomfortable with the snake wrapped around her arm like that, not to mention it hadn't stopped staring at her. As soon as she shook her arm the snake tightened it's grip, obviously not happy with her moving like that. She bit down on her lip lightly when Nen tightened on her arm. It didn't really hurt too much but it was uncomfortable. She lifted up her free hand and started moving it closer to Nen to try and pry him off and as soon as her hand got close to his face he jerked his head around and snapped down on her fingers. She jumped and let out a short lived yelp as soon as she felt Nen bite her fingers and her first reaction was to try and pull her fingers from his mouth. Nen may have been made from water but his teeth sure didn't feel like it when he bit you. Her eyes started to water when the pain clicked and she stopped trying to pull her fingers from his mouth. Nen had a pretty strong jaw and clearly she wasn't going to be able to just pull her hand away unless she wanted to lose her fingers. "...Nen ...l-let me go." She uttered as she stared down at him, trying not to act like this really hurt and she'd much rather be crying about it. After a few moments Nen did finally loosen up and release her hand, then he unwrapped himself from around her arm and slithered off to the side of her slightly. He was still staring at her just like before, apparently not too sure what to make of her. One thing was certain, Nen didn't like to be touched. Once Nen had let her go and moved off to her side she looked down at her hand to inspect it. She was a little surprised to not see any bite marks. His teeth just scrapped the sides of a couple of her fingers. The rest of the pain she felt was just from the pressure of Nen clamping down. She was glad that his teeth didn't get her fingers like she thought, he probably would've broken the bones in them if his teeth went through. She finally lifted her eyes and looked back over at Nen. She wasn't exactly sure what she was supposed to do from here and she didn't know how to go about controlling him. She assumed that figuring out how to control the creature on your own was probably the important part for mastering this since every Elder summoned a different snake. She was growing increasingly uncomfortable with the fact that Nen was doing nothing more then just staring at her. She was just about to make an attempt at approaching him when she noticed him move slightly. Nen had stopped staring at her and had now focused on Celestine, staring at him now. Nen hadn't noticed him before, mostly because he had been focusing solely on Aamori. It was pretty much just as Hisako had said, Aamori didn't have complete control over the creature yet and he was bound to attack. Nen shifted slightly and then darted at Aamori, rather angry with her for summoning him for the first time like this in front of a dragon from another clan. Aamori dropped her hand to her side and immediately went to grab for her staff since this reminded her exactly of what happened last night when Nen was only a head. Her eyes widened as she patted her leg and remembered her holster had been broken and she didn't have her staff on her. She'd left it on the fountain without even thinking about it. She threw her arms up in front of her in the shape of an "x" to at least block against Nen since she couldn't hit him. Had Nen not done this same thing to her the night before she probably wouldn't have responded the way she just did to his attempt to attack her. When Nen got close enough to her to attack and he noticed her defensive stance he smacked into her arms and burst into little droplets of water. After a few seconds Nen had started to reform his body just on the other side of Aamori. Obviously he'd chosen not to attack her since she decided to try and block him whereas he had expected her to run away. Though he would've preferred her making an attempt to counter attack, there was more fun in that. Once he had completely reformed his body he shifted a little and then started darting around again though this time he had decided to go after Celestine since he didn't think that wind dragon had any right to be here.

Celestine kept his eyes on the snake while it stared at Aamori, still trying not to draw much attention to himself. He tilted his head a little when he heard her say 'Nen' since he had no idea what she was talking about. He hadn't herd anything at least. It wasn't until the thing clamped down on Aamori's fingers that he moved, taking a step closer, though he paused when she started talking to the thing, telling it to let go. There wasn't a lot he could do with it like that anyway, so he waited for it to listen to her and then sighed softly. He watched it as it slithered off and then clenched his teeth slightly when he saw it's gaze shift to him. Great... Oh well, so much for getting off free. He started to hurry forward when he saw the thing going after Aamori, though he paused when the thing just...exploded. He blinked and stared as it started to reform on the other side of her and then tightened his grip on his swallow when she thing started coming after him. "Aamori...How about getting your damn staff!" he said as he waited the the thing to get close to him. As soon as it was close to him he spun his swallow at it's head. He knew that he couldn't get rid of it that way but he hoped that he could at least slosh it around enough that it's head wouldn't be in the shape to use it's teeth on him.

Aamori was a little slow to respond once Nen had burst into droplets after colliding with her arms. She was a little confused at first since she hadn't been hurt. She started to lower her arms slowly and look around for Nen briefly before hearing Celestine tell her to get her staff. Her eyes trailed over to Celestine, only now seeing that Nen was going after him. Her eyes then darted over to the fountain and she focused on her staff for a moment before she got her feet moving and rushed over to snatch it up. Right about now she really was wishing her holster hadn't been broken. She held out her staff and depressed the jewel that made her staff extend. She looked back over at Celestine just about the time Nen made contact with his swallow and watched as the snake partially burst into droplets. She continued to just stand there for a moment staring at Nen, waiting to see if he was going to reform like he did before. Nen didn't reform right away, instead he flailed about for a few moments without his head fully formed; As if he were in a severe amount of pain. His flailing around did cause him to fall back a decent distance from Celestine. Aamori started to take a few steps closer now since Nen didn't seem to be in any shape to attack at the moment. Just as she got close enough Nen jerked to a stop and the droplets that had fallen to the ground started floating right back up to him as they reformed his head completely. He let out a rather angry sounding hiss and started to charge at Celestine once again, obviously not hurt even a little. Aamori had known that the swallow couldn't hurt Nen, but she didn't expect him to be able to reform that easily and she was gathering that he was just playing around by flailing like that. She rushed the rest of the way over and got between Nen and Celestine just before Nen got close enough to attack. She didn't have enough room to hit Nen so she took her staff in both of her hands and started spinning it extremely fast. While doing so she was letting out a small amount of the special water to act as a shield as she spun the staff. Just as Nen collided with her staff he was thrust backwards across the courtyard and onto the ground, giving her more then enough room. She gave a relieved sigh and slowed her staff to a stop. She hadn't been certain that would block against him, she actually had expected Nen to just burst into droplets again. She stood there for a moment and watched as Nen started to get back up and prepare to attack again. She shook her head lightly. If anything this snake sure was persistent. She tightened her grasp on her staff and waited for Nen to come charging again. He had slowed down a little it seemed thanks to his collision with her staff. Once Nen grew closer she shifted slightly and held her staff at the base with both of her hands and lifted it up, only to bring it crashing down on Nen's head with a great deal of force. As the staff hit his head he was forced down a little before he burst entirely into droplets. Mere moments after Nen was gone Aamori dropped down so that she was sitting on the ground and released her staff in the process. It didn't make a whole lot of sense to her at the time but she was rather tired all of a sudden.

Celestine cringed slightly when he hit the thing and it started flailing around like it was hurt. His ears fell back slightly and he clenched his teeth a little again. He really hated having to hurt anything, even if it was going to hurt him first. If he did have to hurt it he didn't want to watch it suffer, but then again he hadn't expected that hitting it would even really hurt it. He actually looked a little upset until the thing reformed the rest of it's head and came at him again, then he just looked annoyed. "Why you deceitful, melodramatic bastard..." he muttered angrily, now irritated that he'd felt sorry for hitting it. He was ready to start smacking the hell out of it again when Aamori jumped in front of him and knocked it away. He huffed and watched her as she finally got rid of the thing. He looked down to her when she wound up sitting and sighed kneeling beside her while laying his swallow on the ground. "You okay?" He asked softly, placing his hand on her shoulder. He knew that she was tired form using her energy to summon that blasted thing. He looked down at the hand that it had bitten and took it gently, looking ti over and then chuckled quietly once he saw that she wasn't really hurt. A few moments later he started laughed, and shaking his head, apparently cracking up at some joke that he hadn't really told. That snake just brought back early memories. It just took it's beatings and came right back for more...just like Aamori when they'd first met. It didn't matter how mean he was, she was right back on his heels a few minutes later.

Aamori gave a slight nod of her head when he asked if she was okay. She lifted her eyes a little and looked over at her hand when he took it and started looking it over. She lowered her head slightly after she looked back at the ground in front of her. She hadn't expected to be so tired after Nen was gone considering she felt fine while he was summoned. She gave a sigh after realizing that the summoning must not take her energy until Nen was gone. She had known some had been used at the start of the spell and during the moment she knocked Nen away but other than that she had felt fine throughout the whole time Nen was around. She had read in the book that the summoned creature shared energy with the person who summoned it, so maybe that made sense. Though if that was the case it was her energy that Nen was using whenever he had to reform his body. She reached over to her staff and picked it up, pressing down on the same jewel as before and watched her staff retract. She then set her staff down in her lap and shut her eyes gently, sitting quietly. She kind of felt like taking a nap right about now. She lifted her head up and looked over at Celestine when she heard him laugh. "...W-what's so funny?" She asked tiredly.
|
Celestine looked back to Aamori again when she asked him what was funny and just shook his head, continuing to laugh. He didn't know why he thought it was so funny, but he was laughing to much that his eyes were watering. "Hahaha... N-nothing just...Hahaha... W-water snake..." he said as he raise his arm, swiping the back of his hand over one eye to clear the water from it, though he soon found himself laughing again. The whole time he was laughing he was half wondering what was wrong with him. He never laughed like this...at least not anymore, and why over something that was barely even funny? He shook his head , closing his mouth for a moment, though a few seconds later he found himself laughing again. Well...at least he didn't have one of those annoying braying laughs. His laugh was smooth and almost velvety, something most would probably find pleasing to listen to.

Aamori continued to look at him while he laughed. She tilted her head slightly when he said water snake and half wondered if that had anything to do with her. She obviously didn't get what was so funny but whatever it was, it sure was making him laugh quite a bit. She smiled a little and looked back down at her lap. Since he was usually so serious most of the time it was almost weird hearing him having a laughing fit. It was kind of nice hearing him laughing like he was, especially since she'd never heard him laugh so much before. She glanced back over at him and smiled again. "Don't forget to breathe." She uttered quietly.
LaRae finally came back out from the kitchen. She was pretty happy just because she'd managed to talk the cooks into letting her help them with lunches food preparation for the people who lived and worked in the building. She really did love cooking and she'd never worked with half of the ingredients that they had available, so she had enjoyed taking advantage of this opportunity. She was going to go and check on Nanashi since it was past lunch now and she hadn't checked on him once since she left the room earlier in the morning. She started down the hall towards their room but paused at one of the arches when she heard someone laughing and then looked in at Aamori and Celestine, giving a slight smile when she saw who it was that was laughing. |
