Aamori again allowed for a break before she even thought to start swinging at him again. She wasn't too surprised to see that the two attacks had made contact. She had thought he might catch the second attempt for his right side but he apparently didn't catch onto where she was going with her staff right away. Then she also hadn't really told him how to block against a jab to ones midsection. She'd kind of hoped he might improvise and come up with his own way to block that one. Then again, she did need to remember he'd never really done this before. She sighed quietly and prepared her staff to go at him again. She was pretty sure this had allowed enough time for him to catch his breath and regain his barrings. She tightened her grip slightly, intending to add a little more force to her attacks. After all, no opponent was going to hit you lightly and this certainly wasn't a pillow fight. She was remembered to take into account that the staff he was using wasn't made of steel like hers. She went high twice back to back and then shifted to swing for his left side and then right side without skipping a beat then immediately pulled her staff back slightly before she spun herself around while lowering her body simultaneously to sweep her staff for his feet.
|
This go around Nanashi made sure to keep his eyes on her staff more than anything so he could see where that was going. He managed to block the two high attacks easily enough, though again the added force took him by surprise and his knees gave a little more than they should have on the first attack. The second wasn't quite so bad as he'd gathered that she was going to be hitting him a little harder every time. He brought the staff to the left to block that attack and then swung around quickly to keep her from hitting his right again. Even sore, he was still able to move pretty quickly. As soon as he saw her back up and go down instinct told him not to stay on the ground. He didn't even see where her staff was going really before he jumped and absently opened his wings to keep himself int he air as he'd done to save himself when the ground was falling out from under him in Radha. He caught himself quickly and closed his wings so that he dropped back to the ground quickly after the staff had passed under him. He did at least know how to avoid things on the ground it seemed, though flying away from it probably wasn't exactly what they were looking for. it was an automatic response for him to fly if the ground wasn't safe, so he hadn't really thought about it. He probably could have just held the staff firmly on the ground and let her hit that or...hell even just a rum would have sufficed. He sighed quietly, looking a little miffed at himself for using his wings. He doubted the dragons did when they were fighting.
|
Aamori stood herself back up after she'd swept her staff for his feet and in all honesty she was surprised that he'd not ended up flat on his back from that. She set the end of her staff to the ground and then leaned on it a little, obviously taking a little more than a short break from the barrage of attacks. "You did good to dodge that last one." She commented. "And I think most of us forget that we have working wings in the midst of combat." She added. Well, she didn't exactly have working wings; Hers could really only do so much. "Anyway, I think you've got the gist of blocking. Thirteen out of fifteen successfully blocked and or avoided is pretty good all things considered." She didn't really count smashing his fingers as a loss, he'd still managed to keep her from hitting him worse and he hadn't dropped the weapon. Though she had managed to make contact with his side and his midsection. She stood there for a moment longer and than straightened herself up before lifting her staff and preparing for a defensive stance. "Now... it's your turn." She paused. "Attacking is pretty self explanatory and I'm sure you've seen me and the others do it enough to have some idea of what you're doing." She said with a slight nod. "So whenever you're ready... just attack."
|
Nanashi blinked when she said that he had done good to dodge that last attack, looking clearly surprised. That was the easiest one to dodge for him. He smiled weakly, "How can you forget you have wings?" he asked with a soft chuckle, not expecting an answer. He seemed amused by that statement. He never forgot that he had wings, or a tail for that matter, so if ever wither of them could come in useful, he would use them without even thinking about it. After all, he'd had them since he was born; they were another set of limbs just like arms and legs. He sighed softly, looking slightly pleased when she said that he'd done well so far, though the smile that had crept to his face vanished the instant that she said it was his turn. He knew what she meant before she even got into the whole 'attacking' thing. He took a deep breath and then let it out slowly, that unsure look coming back to his. This, obviously, was the part that he was going to have the most trouble with. It was clear on his face that he didn't want anything to do with this part. What if she missed and he hit her? Or hell, what if he crushed her fingers? He shook his head, trying to clear it and then sighed, "Alright..." he said quietly. He shifted positions again, that determined look returning to his eyes, and then came at her quickly, He raised the staff as she had done before to go for a high attack, though as he started to swing down he closed his eyes tightly and locked up, stopped dead int he middle of the swing without even being able to see if she was going to block that or not. He didn't want to crack her in the head if she missed. He opened his eyes and looked at her again, his ears laying back to add to the sheepish expression on his face. He groaned quietly and then lowered the staff and backed up a little with a heavy sigh. "...Do we really have to practice this? I know how to hit something..." he muttered quietly.
Celestine just slapped his forehead and then groaned. "Oh brother..." Was he the only guy in this ground that didn't care to beat up a girl? |
Aamori shook her head lightly when he asked how you could forget you have wings. Honestly... she forgot from time to time that they were even there. She never really used them and they did nothing more than sit there and look pretty. So it was really easy to forget that she had them. The only times that they ever did some in use were when she was swimming or in her dragon form. Obviously, neither of those two things happened that often. She tilted her head slightly when she noticed the smile he had disappear. Seeing the unsureness in his expression concerned her a little. It wasn't that hard to him someone and she assumed he'd be able to do it no problem since he'd been able to block just fine. She tightened her grasp on her staff a bit after he said 'alright'. She was prepared for him just fine, after all, he was no Hisako. She lifted her staff up to block his attack though she stared at his staff for a moment when it stopped moving. She was a little dumbfounded at least until her eyes trailed down to Nanashi's face just as he was opening his eyes. She lowered her staff as well once he'd lowered his and tilted her head slightly before hearing what he said. She stared at him blankly, a bit shocked. "Um..." She paused and shook her head a little. "...Um... Nanashi... you can know 'how' to hit something all you like... but you need experience in hitting something.." She said honestly.
Hisako shook her head in disbelief when Nanashi couldn't even bring himself to hit Aamori. Some fire dragon he was. Ordinarily there should have been no trouble, no hesitation, no nothing, just an attack. She gave a heavy sigh hearing him ask if they really had to practice that. She officially thought there was no need what so ever to sit in on this. He couldn't even hit a girl, or maybe he couldn't hit anyone. She stood there for a moment longer before she turned slightly. "Aamori, be careful when you all leave." She called out and then proceeded to walk towards the door that headed downstairs. She'd rather spend her time getting some work done than waste it up here watching any more of this. Kyran sighed quietly when Nanashi wouldn't attack Aamori. He couldn't say he didn't kind of see that coming. He'd have been more surprised if he actually followed through and tried to hit her. He turned his head to look at Hisako when she spoke up and then watched as she disappeared from his sight. He shook his head a little and looked back to Nanashi. "....Would it be easier to continue if we substitute Aamori for someone else?" He asked guessing that he was uncomfortable with attacking period, but it didn't help matters if he didn't want to chance hitting a girl; At this point they really just needed him to experience attacking. |
Nanashi sighed heavily when he heard Aamori's response and this his ears fell back a little more. He started to speak before his attention was grabbed by Hisako. He listened to her and then sighed again, looking even more sheepish as she started to leave. He wasn't entirely sure why she was up here to begin with, but was he really so bad that she couldn't even stand to watch anymore? He turned his eyes back to Kyran when he asked if it would be easier if they substituted Aamori for someone else. He just shook his head a little, looking embarrassed at himself. "...Maybe...a little," he said quietly before he turned his eyes downward. "...It would be easier if there was actually something that I wanted to hurt," he said bluntly.
Celestine glanced over to Hisako when she spoke and then sighed heavily as he shook his head as she started to leave. He had a feeling that the only reason she had been up in in the first place was to make sure that Nanashi didn't try to kill Aamori, so since he couldn't even bring himself to attack her at all, he guessed there was no real point in her staying to watch. After she had gone he sighed again and looked back to Nanashi after hearing his answer to Kyran's question. He just shook his head and then pushed away from the wall a little, "Nanashi, is there ever anything that you do want to hurt? Haven't you ever defended yourself against an animal, even?" he asked bluntly as he crossed his arms. With as many scars as Nanashi had all over his body he doubted that he had ever even attempted to fight back; it looked like he had honestly just rolled over and let himself get mauled. Nanashi looked back to Celestine and then sighed softly before lowering his eyes again. "...Not unless that something is hurting someone else," he said quietly. He didn't even include himself in that 'someone else' category. He really didn't care so much about himself. Of course he would move or dodge if he could, but if he couldn't why just cause both of them to walk away in pain? "...I would if I had to, but I've never given one reason to attack me. I don't bother them, and they don't bother me," he said simply in response to his next question. Celestine just shook his head and sighed heavily. "...You're too good for your own good..." he muttered as he leaned back where he was. "Good luck." Hikari wasn't disappointed with Nanashi's ability to pick up on how to block and dodge, it was as she had expected; he caught on fast. However she couldn't help bust shake her head at his poor display as far as attacking went. When Hisako decided to leave she glanced over in her general direction and then sighed again before she looked back to listen to Kyran's question and then Nanashi's answer to both his and Celestine's questions. "Honestly...how did he get by in the world all of this time?" she said quietly to herself as she crossed her arms. She didn't see how someone like him could go through life not wanting to hurt anything. She had seen some of those scars on his arms that he tried to hard to hide, and she knew how the world worked...but his mind was a complete mystery to her. |
Aamori was still a little shocked that Nanashi couldn't even attack her. He was probably the first that she'd ever experienced who couldn't try and hit her. She didn't care very much for Kyran's question. She just didn't get why Nanashi couldn't do this and why he'd need a substitute. There wasn't anything wrong with her and if he did manage to hit her, if she was hurt she could get looked at easily. She sighed quietly. "...Does this mean that we're done with the training?" She asked. "It's... kind of hard to continue if he can't attack..." She added quietly.
Kyran shook his head slightly. Somehow he knew this was coming. "You really need to work on actually hitting someone rather than waiting until there is a reason to attack and hope that you can do it." He paused. "That's partly why it's called training... it's to prepare you for the real thing." He said with a sigh. He glanced over to Aamori briefly. "Well... I'd hope this wasn't the end of it." He responded and then looked over at Nanashi. "...So who do we have to switch her with to get you to actually attack so that the training can continue?" He asked, assuming that Nanashi would probably want to have a guy step in rather than a girl. If he could even be talked into continuing. |
Nanashi looked at Aamori and then sighed and lowered his eyes again. He guessed it was pretty stupid that he couldn't make himself hit her, but it just went against everything he'd ever been taught, and it wasn't so easy for him to just throw that out the window. After a moment he looked back to Kyran again and then stared at him for a moment before he glanced over to Celestine and then back to him. Well...he had two male options at the moment, and knowing the way Celestine was, he didn't really want to go against him. He doubted that he could get anywhere near Celestine's head, but just in case, he didn't want to chance it plus the guy looked just like a girl and was a lot smaller than him. He sighed again and then shook his head a little. "...I...c-could you do it?..." he asked quietly, looking at Kyran again. He hated asking, he really did. 'Oh hey, Kyran, well, out of everyone you're the one I'd feel most comfortable beating up, how about it?' Right. He sighed again and then glanced away. He really liked Kyran, the guy had been helping him out a lot more than he ever would have expected, so he really didn't want to leave a mark on him either. This was going to be difficult...
Hikari stood quietly beside Kyran and listened quietly to the conversation, though she had no idea how to add any input. She wouldn't mind offering her assistance, but obviously the entire problem was the fact that he was fighting a girl, so substituting another girl wouldn't help anything. She smiled weakly when she saw the way that he asked Kyran if he would do it. It was a little painfully obvious that he didn't want anything to do with this part no matter who it was. "Don't worry, Nanashi..." |
Kyran sighed quietly when he heard how Nanashi had asked him if he could be the substitute. He really didn't have any problem with it; for the greater good Nanashi just needed to get these basics down. He nodded slightly. "Alright." He said as he stepped away from the archway and started to inch closer to them. He glanced to Aamori and eyed her staff. "...Do you mind if I use yours?" He asked looking at Aamori. He may have had no problem doing this but he was as new to pole arms as Nanashi was. It probably would've been better for them to pull Kanone out of bed for this; At least he knew his way around these types of weapons. Well, if anything... he was more than tall enough for Aamori's staff.
Aamori glanced up at Kyran when he came over. She was about to just put her staff away when she heard him ask if he could use hers. She looked down at it for a moment and then sighed quietly before holding it out to him. "I guess." She paused. "Don't hurt yourself." She added before releasing the staff to him. She was kind of bummed that Nanashi couldn't or wouldn't attack her. She liked training pretty well and she was fully prepared for him to attack her and here he couldn't so someone who'd never touched a dang pole arm was going to try and defend against Nanashi. She sighed a little heavier and started to clear the area, moving to go stand near Hikari since Celestine had his animals with him. Kyran took hold of her staff once she let him have it and laughed quietly when she told him not hurt himself. He didn't think he was that bad with weapons, but then again... this was probably the least favorite weapon of choice. It wouldn't surprise him too much if he did manage to do something to hurt himself. He shook his head lightly, at least glad that he had been paying attention when Aamori was telling Nanashi how to block. Without that he would probably be close to screwed with this. He looked over to Nanashi after he had finished glancing the weapon over and trying to get some barring of it. "...You'll be able to attack now right?" He asked, hoping the answer was yes. Otherwise they stood the chance of being out here longer than they wanted. |
Hikari watched Aamori while Kyran spoke and Kyran took over her weapon. Once Aamori had come over to stand beside her she looked over at her and smiled slightly. "Why so glum, chum?" she asked with a slight smile before nudging her gently with her shoulder. "I thought you didn't like the getting hit part," she teased. She could tell that Aamori was a little put off that Nanashi couldn't hit her, though she didn't really know what to tell her. "Heh, you know some men. You don't hit a girl not matter what."
Nanashi listened silently when Kyran came forward and asked for Aamori's weapon. He just sighed quietly while she handed it over and walked away and then looked up to Kyran again when he asked if this meant that he would be able to attack. His shoulders slouched a little and he looked up at him with that same expression, his eras laying back a little. He was already short compared to Kyran, but standing here thinking about hitting him made him feel even smaller. "Mm..." he muttered quietly without looking at him; that was about as close to a 'yes' as anyone was going to get from him. He swallowed again and shifted positions, tightening his grip on the staff as he tried to talk himself into motion. "Alright....I can do this..." he said quietly, clearly only telling that to himself. He looked up again and finally went for it, raising the staff to swing down at him, though he purposely veered off track and swung down beside him rather than at him, "I can't so this!" he groaned as he looked back up to Kyran, "I don't want to hurt anyone!" Celestine groaned again and finally just sank down to a sitting position beside Esen while propping his elbow on his knee. "...We're going to be here all day with this..." He shook his head and then rubbed his temples, "If you can't fight back then you're not going to be any help." Nanashi looked over to Celestine and his ears fell back again as he lowered his gaze. "...I don't like to use my friends as practice dummies," he said quietly. |
Aamori glanced over at Hikari when she started talking. She sighed quietly and shifted her glance away. "...I don't like getting hit, but I didn't think he'd be able to actually hit me." She commented quietly. She honestly hadn't thought that he would hurt her too badly even if he had managed to hit her, especially since he was new to all of this. Just because she didn't care for getting hit didn't mean she wasn't going to spar and train. She liked it and all just not the getting hurt part. That was easy enough to put up with most of the time. She looked back over to Hikari for a moment after the last thing that she mentioned. "...If that's the case than I hope we never have to face a guardian that looks like a girl." She said quietly. She turned her eyes towards the courtyard to watch when it looked like Nanashi might actually get somewhere with this whole attacking thing. She stared blankly for a moment when she saw that he'd swung the staff down beside Kyran rather than at him. again... She gave a heavy sigh. How was it even possible that he couldn't even bring himself to hit Kyran.
Kyran stood there quietly and waited for Nanashi to get ready to do this. Once it finally looked like he was actually going to give it a go he prepared his best to try and block for the attack. Though when his staff came down and not where it should've he turned his head slightly to look at Nanashi's staff then he let his eyes trail back to Nanashi while he lowered the staff that he was borrowing from Aamori. He sighed quietly since Nanashi obviously couldn't do this, or wouldn't rather. He shook his head a bit after hearing Celestine comment that they were going to be here all day with this. He really didn't want that. This was supposed to be simple and fairly quick. "Unfortunately Nanashi, it doesn't matter what you like." He said as he shifted the staff in his hand a little. "You have to learn this and there isn't any other way. You're not going to back out and say something like you'll pick it up in the field, like on hands training." He sighed. "Anyway... you're the one who said you didn't want to be useless, right?" He paused. "Get over your damn fear of hitting your friends and start fighting back already!" He told him sternly. If he didn't he was liable to get drag Nero out of bed. At least he wasn't exactly a friend to Nanashi. Though... watch Nanashi be too scared to even hit Nero. |
Hikari half smiled to Aamori when she said that she hoped that they never came across a guardian that looked like a woman. "Amen to that..." she said quietly. She half wondered if Kyran would even have trouble fighting if one of the guardians looked too much like a girl. He was a gentleman...for the most part. She chuckled softly, "I guess we could take it if there was," she said lightly. She watched Nanashi's attempt at attacking Kyran and then sighed heavily and shook her head. "Oh, Nanashi..." she groaned, "Is it really that difficult?" Honestly, did he think that someone was going to get mad at him for this? She was beginning to think that Kyran and Celestine were getting more irritated with him for not doing anything.
Nanashi just stared at Kyran when he said that there wasn't another way to learn this. They couldn't have him hit a tree or something like that? He had to go straight for someone that he'd rather not hurt if he did manage to hit them? Why couldn't he pick it up in the field, at least then it was something that they needed to kill or wound or whatever. He sighed softly, though his ears fell back again when Kyran got that stern tone to his voice and told him to get over it. If it was that easy he would have already. This was just hard for him to manage talking himself into 'fighting back' as he put it. "...I'm trying..." he said quietly. He was still a little stuck on when he had accidentally hit Celestine and drawn the blood. Even though he didn't have something sharp he could still break something if he hit it just right. Celestine watched them and then sighed as he climbed to his feet, brushing Kyiri off of his shoulder in the process. Something had occurred to him after what Kyran had said, and he had an idea, though he wasn't so sure how Kyran would like it. He started to walk closer to them and then stopped beside Kyran before he opened his wings and lifted himself off the ground enough that he was hovering next to Kyran's ear. He leaned a little closer, his wings causing a bit of a stir int eh sing and probably blocking the sound a little from being heard by anyone but the intended person. He cupped his hands around his mouth and then started, "Maybe that's the problem, Kyran, he isn't fighting back; nothing's attacking him. That's how I was when I was younger, I didn't want any part of initiating a fight, so see if you can make him fight back," he said just loud enough to be heard. He flew backwards a bit, still hovering in the air and then shrugged slightly and tilted his head with one of those 'it's your call' looks on his face before he dropped to the ground and closed his wings behind him before he started back over to where he had been standing. |
Kyran was kind of hoping that using a stern voice with Nanashi might have been enough to get him to actually fight back but clearly it wasn't. He sighed heavily at Nanashi's poor excuse for trying. He glanced towards Celestine briefly when he noticed him moving closer. He continued to stand there and keep a pretty straight face for the most part while Celestine was talking into his ear. Once Celestine had moved away he glanced down at the staff he was holding for a moment and then to Nanashi. Well, he hadn't wanted to force Nanashi into a situation where he had to fight back but it looked like that might be the only way to get anything out of the guy. He guessed this would be better than letting him learn it out in the field. After all, here, it was a controlled environment and they could call it quits a lot easier than if they were out seriously fighting. He stood there for a moment longer, seriously debating with himself on whether or not he wanted to try and make him fight back. If he did... he certainly couldn't use this staff. There was no way in Arienh that he could get Nanashi to fight back when he was using a weapon he had no real clue how to use. Well, other than swing it. He sighed quietly and then tossed Aamori's staff over to Nanashi. "You're going to need to use that." He stated before he turned around and started to head the room that he and Hikari were using so that he could retrieve his blades. He was fairly quick in getting in and out of the room and was already holding his blades the way he needed to in order to do battle once he was entering the courtyard again.
Aamori stood there quietly and then tilted her head slightly when she saw Celestine go to say something to Kyran. If it was something that had to be said so secretly she wasn't so sure that she really wanted to know what was going to happen next. She watched when Kyran finally tossed her staff at Nanashi and told him that he was going to need to use it. She was a bit boggled to say the least and glanced over to Hikari for a moment, half wondering if she had any idea what was going on. It wasn't until she saw Kyran come back with his blades that she understood why he'd told Nanashi he'd need to use her staff. The training ones wouldn't hold up very long against his blades, or at least she assumed that much. |
Hikari watched as Celestine went to speak to Kyran and then tried to stifle a chuckle when he decided to hover rather than get Kyran to bend down. She was curious as to what was being said, but at the same time she couldn't get over how fast Celestine could beat his wings to keep himself hovering in practically the same spot like that. Once he had moved away and Kyran tossed the staff to Nanashi she blinked and then watched as he started away. She wasn't entirely sure what in the world he was doing, though there was only one thing that she could think of in their room that Nanashi would need Aamori's staff to defend against. Her ears fell back slightly when Kyran returned with his blades. "Kyran, what do you think you're doing!?" she asked quietly, giving him a rather disapproving look. She wasn't so sure Nanashi was ready to go up against weapons that sharp.
Nanashi stared at Celestine when he started to hover by Kyran's ear, though he couldn't hear a word he was saying over the beating of his wings. Once he'd backed off and moved away he blinked when Kyran tossed him Aamroi's weapon and nearly fumbled it as he tried to catch it since he was still holding the wooden one. He watched him start away, his nerves already on edge since he'd just handed him the stronger weapon. He glanced down while he was gone and then moved back to put the training staff away. He almost let himself hope that they were just going to drop it, though when he turned around and saw Kyran carrying his blades his eyes widened, "Wh-what are you ding with those?" he stammered quietly before his eyes shot over to Celestine. Was this his idea? Celestine went right back to where he had been before and then sat down and sighed, though he was a little surprised to see Kyran hand Nanashi Aamori's staff. It took him a moment to realize that he must intend to use his blades. Well...that wasn't what he'd had in mind, but hey...he couldn't very well fight worth anything with something he didn't know how to use, could he? This should be interesting... He sighed when he heard Hikari's tone and then saw the look on Nanashi's face and the look he gave him. He just grinned and shrugged, giving him the good ol' 'oh well' face. |
Kyran immediately cast his glance over to Hikari when he heard her and sighed quietly after catching the disapproving look on her face. He was pretty sure that it was obvious what he was doing. He turned his eyes back towards Nanashi and then he glanced down at his blades as he flexed his elbows a little. "Well... to answer both questions..." He paused. "I'm going to use my blades and fight against Nanashi. Since we couldn't do this the easy way, like we all intended... we're going to do it this way." He told them. He didn't really want to use his blades against Nanashi but if it got him to fight back, even a little, than he'd take whatever scolding he got afterward. He looked back to Nanashi as he prepared his stance, standing with his side to Nanashi with the one blade held firmly in his hand. "Are you ready?" He paused. "Oh... I don't recommend trying to run either." He warned. It should have been clear but he'd catch Nanashi before running could get him anywhere.
Aamori had to admit she was a little uncomfortable with this situation. She'd managed to hit Nanashi twice with her staff and that wasn't entirely that hard to do. Kyran... was more experienced, stronger and wielding much sharper weapons. It didn't help at all that Kyran seemed unphased by Hikari's tone or Nanashi's stammering. Right about now she had kind of hoped that Hisako hadn't made her exit. At least with her here she knew when to cut in and stop something before it got too bad. Or she may have even been able to get Kyran not to use his blades. She was seriously a little worried that Kyran was going to slice Nanashi a few times and he really didn't need that after just recovering from previous blood loss. She shook her head slightly and looked over at Hikari. "...I think this is a good example of irrational behavior ...and all because they're impatient." She commented quietly. No part of this really made much sense to her. At best she thought Kyran might scare the crap out of Nanashi and possibly make him faint again, or something. |
Hikari started at Kyran with a disbelieving expression on her face and then shook her head, "Kyran, that's too rough!" she objected, especially since Nanashi already looked like he may have an accident where he stood. She looked back to Aamori and then sighed heavily and nodded in agreement before she bit her lip lightly and shifter positions uncomfortably. She just hoped that Kyran was careful if there was no talking him out of this. She didn't want to have to clean up too big of a mess.
Nanashi's eyes grew even wider as he listened to Kyran speak, well if his eyes could get any more wide. He clutched Aamori's staff for dear life and then shook his head as he looked back to him. It was bad enough when dragons came at him with claws, let along actual blades. "H-have you gone MAD!?" he asked as he took a step back, though he froze when Kyran told him that he shouldn't run. He knew full well how fast Kyran was... hell Kyran could move fast enough that he could slice him into ribbons before he even had time to blink twice if he so choose. Realizing that only caused him to take another step back, those large ruby eyes of him absolutely pleading, "Kyran..." he said weakly, his ears falling back. Apparently there would be no 'ready' for this round. He was honestly afraid Kyran was going to hurt him. After all, he liked Kyran well enough, but he could never be entirely sure just how much someone liked him. Right now, it wasn't looking like Kyran cared too much what he thought about having a set of blades coming after him. |
Kyran groaned quietly when he heard Hikari say 'that's too rough'. Well, honestly, it could have been a lot worse. Either Nero or Celestine could've been were he was standing and both of them had similarly dangerous weapons. At least he cared about Nanashi, unlike Nero and he didn't have to try very hard to be careful. Not to mention he could easily move before an attack landed if he thought he'd cause any really bad damage to Nanashi. In all actuality with a sharp weapon involved he was probably the best bet out of everyone. He was still waiting for Nanashi to tell him that he was ready but judging by the way he backed up and the look in his eyes there wasn't going to be a time when he was ready. He wanted to just shrug it off and just put his weapons away, letting Nanashi off the hook. Especially after the way he was looking at him and the way he'd said his name, but he couldn't. Nanashi desperately needed to learn how to fight back. I'll do my best not to hurt you too badly, if at all. He thought to himself for a moment before he shifted slightly and then started to lunge at Nanashi, whether he was ready or not. He kept it simple, only attempting one slash at him with each blade.

Nanashi's breath caught when Kyran came charging at him and he instantly backed away again and then the staff up in front of him horizontally while smacking away the blades as they came at him. He backed up more quickly, his eyes still wide as he held his death grip on the staff. He had no idea what he was doing here. It was a little hard to concentrate when there were two sharp objects flying at you as opposed to one blunt one. "Kyran, stop it!" he pleaded again, his voice raising an octave. He looked around quickly, obviously looking for some kind of escape route, though being in a building wasn't helping him. Apparently Kyran's advice about not running away wasn't getting through his head. Whenever he was attacked he always tried to run rather than fight back, though in this case he especially wanted to run considering what Kyran was fighting him with.
|
Kyran had every intention of following Nanashi all over this building if that was what it lead to. At least until he got up the nerve to fight back. After he could get around to doing that he'd lay off, but otherwise he was going to do everything in his power to push Nanashi until he got the results he was looking for. He continued to follow him every time he backed away and that only made him slash his blade after him again. He hated that while he was doing this he had to ignore the fact that Nanashi was pleading with him to stop. This was really making him look like a jerk and a bad guy and he'd feel terrible if in the end nothing good came of this. He wasn't even sure how much of what he was doing he could even blame on Celestine. After all... he could stop at any point and yet, he wasn't. He'd continue to slash at him, switching between the blades as often as he could all the while trying to mind Nanashi's hands. Nanashi may have been too panicked to even notice that. He couldn't help reiterating to himself in his head that all Nanashi had to do was retaliate and attack him once and he could stop doing this to him. He just hoped that Nanashi got around to that soon enough.
|
Nanashi backed up again quickly, continuing to almost wildly blocking Kyran's attacks. "Kyran! Please! Stop it! Please!!" he continued to plea as he tried to escape him. He didn't even know where to begin attacking him back like this, he was just going in circles while trying to get away from him. Once as he was going to block his shoe caught on the ground and he lost his balance and he teetered right toward one of the swings, earning him a nice slice across the cheek bone. He barely even felt it for a few minutes as he was backing up, and only knew it was there from the feel of the blood running down his cheek. Knowing that he'd actually been hit only panicked him even more and he smacked the blade away one more time before he just turned tail and made a run for it. Unfortunately, he found quickly that he had nowhere to go, around in circles was doing him no good, and up wouldn't be much better. He spun back around, already knowing that Kyran was right behind him again. He tried his best to keep blocking him until he felt his back smack into the wall. He was out of places to run. His eyes widened again and his vision blurred as water flooded his eyes. "GET AWAY FROM ME!!!!" He screamed as he finally swung the pole at Kyran, ignoring his blades and aiming straight for his midsection. He was too scared to care anymore whether he hurt him or not; he apparently didn't mind slicing him open. However he only slung once before he caught himself and just froze before backing up against the wall again, still staring at Kyran with this wide, by now almost terrified eyes. He'd just hit—or tried to hit—a full blooded dragon. As nice as Kyran had been to him before, he sure as hell wasn't being too nice right now in his eyes, and he had no idea how he was going to react to what he'd just done. He couldn't help but compare this to any other time someone had decided to attack him. He had fought back, once or twice, and it always bade it ten times worse when he struck. Finally he just shut his eyes tightly, pushing the moister that had gathered there out to slide down his cheek which in turn caused his cut to burn, and turned his face away as if expecting to get mauled right then and there. His jaw clinched tightly as he stood there shaking and still clutching Aamori's staff tightly in front of him, though he was holding it close to his body as if that was going to protect him.

Kyran continued to ignore Nanashi's plea's, at least he was trying to anyway. The fact that Nanashi kept trying to get away wasn't helping very much either. He wanted to show some sort of concerned reaction when his blade sliced his cheek bone but he held it back and did his best to keep a straight face. He didn't want him to catch on that he was pretty much forcing himself to continue to do this. He kept on Nanashi with the blades at least until he heard Nanashi scream for him to get away from him. By then he'd paused mid swing, fully intending to stop since obviously this had gone a step way too far. Before he even had a chance to shift his blades to properly block the staff had already made it too close and it was inevitable. It was going to hit; Hard. After the staff collided with his midsection he shut his eyes tightly, clenched his teeth together and stumbled back a couple feet then quickly found himself off balance and flat on his ass. Thankfully he had the forethought to drop his blades on either side of him before he fell on his ass. A moment later he finally tried to catch his breath since the wind had been knocked out of him and he started coughing pretty hard while moving his arm over his midsection. Good Lord did that hurt more than he thought it would. Once he finally stopped coughing he took a couple slow breaths and then glanced up at Nanashi with one eye cracked open. He wanted to assure Nanashi that it was alright but when he opened his mouth to speak nothing came out and he wound up coughing a little more. He would've also liked to have joked saying the slice to his cheek could've sufficed as pay back for him having nicked Celestine that one time.

Hikari had finally had enough, or at least all that she could stand to watch. She couldn't believe that Kyran had kept on even with the way that Nanashi was begging him to stop, and when he'd hit him in the face. She didn't know how deep the cut was, but he certainly was bleeding a good bit from it, of course considering it's location that was natural, deep or not. Her ears fell back when Nanashi finally snapped and screamed at Kyran to leave him alone. If Kyran hadn't stopped after that, she was ready top stop him herself. She had only waited as long as she had because she thought he'd know when to stop, but by now she was starting wonder. All he seemed to be doing was scaring the poor boy half to death. She winced when Nanshi slammed the staff into Kyran's middle and finally pushed away from the wall and started in that direction briskly. She was pretty sure that after that, Kyran was done, but just in case she was making sure. "Enough," she said as she got closer. She looked down at Kyran again and gave him another very disapproving look when he glanced up again. He was in for a good talking to soon. She turned her attention back to Nanashi and started to reached up to his face so she could heal his cut before he bled too much more, but just sighed when he flinched away from her. "Nanashi..."
Nanashi continued to stand there stiffly until he heard Kyran coughing the way that he was. Slowly he turned his head a little to look at him, opening his moist eyes a crack. After looking at him, he couldn't help but feel back for hitting him like that; obviously he'd hit him pretty hard if he knocked him on the ground. He was still trying to figured out what to saw when a hand came out of nowhere and he jerked away quickly, turning his wide eyes on Hikari. He hadn't even heard her come up. He opened his mouth to speak, but he didn't make any sound; his jaw started trembling as soon as his mouth fell open. Obviously a few seconds wasn't quite long enough for him to get over the scare. Finally, he let his breath out in a long exhale as he dropped down to his knees in the grass and let the staff fall. He just sat there, bracing himself with his shaking arms while his eyes locked on the ground. "....I...I.....I-I'm...s-s-sorry..." he said quietly, though it almost sounded more like a whimper. He highly doubted that Kyran got what he'd wanted out of him after all of that. He closed his eyes again tightly and took in a few more shaky breaths while he tried to calm down. He really felt about as pathetic as he knew he looked right about now. He didn't even want to bother with this again, it was too hard to make them understand that his only problem with attacking was that he didn't want to cause any of them any harm. He honestly thought it would be easier for him if he could just pick it up when he had to. As long as he could block what did his offense really matter? Celestine was still sitting where he was, though by the time it was over even he was sitting there with his mouth hanging open. He couldn't stand listening to Nanashi beg like that, and he was honestly wondering how in the world Kyran kept going. Perhaps he should have made his suggestion a little more clear... all he had wanted him to try was hitting him with the staff and hopefully give him a little incentive to do something, now scare him half to death with sharp blades. He hadn't said anything when Kyran came out about it since he thought it would probably work even better, but obviously not. Apparently Kyran was just as bad at not knowing when to quit as everyone accused him of being. Still...it could have been Nero. He shook his head as he got back to his feet again slowly. He couldn't believe Nanashi would honestly get that afraid of Kyran. Did the guy still not trust any of them to not hurt him? |
Kyran didn't have to look up at Hikari very long to come to the conclusion that he was really in for a talking to here pretty soon. He knew better than go after Nanashi as long as he had and he wanted to stop by the time Nanashi had pleaded the second time but if he had stopped than he would never have hit him. It hurt like there was no tomorrow, but at least he managed to hit him finally. Nanashi had to hit someone at least a couple times to know what it felt like to hit a body. After all, hitting a tree... just didn't feel the same as hitting someone. He shifted his eyes and looked at Nanashi again having seen him flinch away from Hikari. Now he had to admit he felt even worse than he already did. Nanashi had been working on that whole flinching thing he thought and here he was right back at it. He sighed quietly and then found himself at the last of his coughing fit. He continued to hold his arm to his middle; Damn was it sore. Aside from the pain he was feeling he was at least glad that Nanashi could hit back like that and with so much strength. He finally started to move and immediately winced while he started to get to his feet. He hunched over slightly once he was on his feet again and looked down at Nanashi. "Nanashi..." He paused. "...You finally hit back. You did better than I thought you might." He said quietly, trying to at least reassure him that it was alright. "And... I'm really ...sorry." He sighed. "I didn't want to scare you like that... but... it got you to attack me." He paused. "...I don't know if it's when your scared or not ...but you're pretty strong." He commented in his usual tone. If Nanashi had been standing he probably would've tried to put a hand to his shoulder or something, just to add that he wasn't mad at him and he wasn't going to hurt him or yell at him. He just hoped his words and tone said enough for him.
Aamori still couldn't believe that Kyran had chased Nanashi around the courtyard like he had. Though... she probably would've done the same thing but with her staff rather than something that could seriously hurt him. She stood there practically gawking when Nanashi did finally hit back and hard enough that it seemed he really hurt Kyran. Well, a steel pole swung like that... could easily break ribs and do internal damage. She hoped Kyran was okay too. It didn't seem like Nanashi was really that badly hurt. He had a cut on his cheek and was just scared quite a bit. Even if she didn't quite agree with what Kyran did fact of the matter was that Nanashi still hit him with a lot of force. She sighed quietly and started to head over that way. Since Hikari went to Nanashi she stepped over towards Kyran and looked up at him for a moment before her eyes fell to his midsection where he was still holding his arm close to him. |
Hikari knelt down beside Nanashi and raised her hand to his cheek again slowly, "Hold still," she said gently as he let that faint aura emit from her hand as she healed the cut on his cheek. She glanced up to Kyran while he was speaking and sighed softly before she stood up and looked over at him about the same time that Aamori had come over. She looked at his arm and then sighed softly and shook her head. It looked to her like Nanashi had hit below the rib cage, so she wasn't too worried about broken ribs; plus Kyran didn't seem to be having too much trouble breathing. At worse she thought he'd probably have a really nasty bruise around the area. It was hard to tell if there was any internal damage until later, so right now she wasn't too sure what to do with him other than tell him to go lay down for a bit.
Nanashi did as Hikari asked and sat still while she healed his cut and then raised one hand to the opposite side of his face to wipe away the evidence that his had gotten so spooked that he actually cried a little. He had a feeling they'd already saw that, but still it was kind of embarrassing....and pathetic. On his other cheek thee was so much blood that he didn't want to get his gloves dirty, so he didn't bother. When Kyran started to speak he slowly raised his head a little and listened. He was both surprised and relieved to hear that he wasn't angry and...also very surprised that it sounded almost like he was praising him. He sighed softly and lowered his eyes again before he slowly started to stand up, bringing Aamori's staff up with him. Once on his feet again he just handed the staff over to her without looked at her or saying a word. He didn't really know what to say at the moment, though his eyes just trailed down to where Kyran was holding his middle and he slowly, timidly, raised his hand to rest on Kyran's arm. "...Are...are you alright?" he asked quietly. He was honestly worried that he had hurt him badly. After all, he had swung that thing about as hard as he could manage and that pole didn't have any give to it. He was really glad now that he hadn't been using his spetum; he probably could have killed Kyran like that. "....I'm sorry...I'm really sorry, I didn't mean to hit you.....that hard..." he said quietly as his ears fell back again. He sighed heavily and closed his eyes. Maybe things would have been better off if he had just been able to make himself do that before he probably wouldn't have really hurt him that badly. Celestine thought about going over to make sure that everyone was alright, but he only made it about halfway across the courtyard before he stopped and sighed. It was a little crowded over there, so he could wait and see if they were alright after the girls stopped hovering. |
Kyran shifted his glance briefly from Aamori to Hikari and then finally back to Nanashi. He was glad at least that the cut to Nanashi's cheek had been taken care of. He didn't really want to have that stay there and be a reminder that he'd actually hit him with his blade. He looked at Nanashi after he had touched his arm and asked if he was alright. He nodded and tried his best to stand up a little straighter. He smiled through the pain. "I'll be fine." He tired to assure him. Moments after he said that however he hunched over a little again. Clearly standing straight was a bit more painful. He shook his head a little when heard Nanashi apologize to him. "...You don't need to apologize." He paused. "I shouldn't have pushed you like that." He admitted quietly.
Aamori looked over to Nanashi when he handed her back her staff. She continued to stare at him for a moment after she'd gotten it back and then she gave a quiet sigh while she took a step back out of the way so that she could retract her staff and then put it back in her holster. Once she'd done that and her hands were free she thought briefly about cleaning Nanashi's cheek for him since he hadn't done anything about the blood on his cheek yet. She stepped closer to him and Kyran while in the process her hand was surrounded by a brief aura while she prepared her hand to wash his cheek. She knew he'd likely flinch or move away from her so she tried to quickly sweep her thin water coated palm across his cheek, hopefully getting as much of the blood from his cheek as possible before he responded. |
