Kanone paused as he neared the door and then looked back when he heard LaRae thank him. He just smiled at her again and nodded. "Don't mention it," he said lightly. He smiled chuckled softly, "But seriously...I think you owe me dinner. I nearly killed myself getting in here." He laughed again softly, mostly to let her know that he was joking with her, he knew that she didn't need to be walking around too much right now since she could barely stand up. He just gave her a wing and then raised a hand before he started out of the room again and went back out into the hallway. He knew he told Aamori he'd let her know when everyone woke up but for now he thought he would give everyone time to settle before he went to get her. Once he reached the hallway he just flopped down in the chaise chair again, glad to see that someone had set it upright, though judging as Hikari was the only one in here he assumed it must have been her.
Hikari didn't waste a whole lot of time making her way into the hallway and back down to the kitchen. She took down another glass and then filled it with cold water since she had forgotten to grab the one that was already in there. Once it was full she sat it on the counter and went to check the freezer for some ice before snagging a couple of pieces and dropping them into the water. She stood there for a few moments before she sighed, really wanting to get an ice pack for Nanashi's head. She didn't even know of anything that she could use to put ice in here, but she guessed she could look for something a little later. She turned and started back down the hallway again before she paused and then glanced back to the room that she had been using before she made a quick side trip into the bedroom. She walked over to the bed and snagged the spare pillow from the bed before she walked back across the wall and into the other room before moving over to the bed. She sat the glass down on the night stand and then smiled slightly at her as she handed her the pillow. "Here, I'll let you figure out where you want it." Nanashi didn't really bother to move at all once everyone had started to leave him along. He was really afraid if he uncurled too much that he was going to be sick. He just closed his eyes again for now since everyone was clearing out of the room. He would be content going back to sleep again, he was very tired, but his head was hurting so bad that he didn't know if he was even going to be able to fall asleep again. Celestine kept quiet as he followed Aamori, almost nervous for her when they came to the sand. He watched her for a moment as she started into the sand and sighed softly as he moved a little closer to her and reached over to take her arm after she looked back to him. "...From the look of it, you may kill yourself before you make it to the other house..." he said simply, "...I want to see how everyone is before I'm stuck in there again..." |
LaRae stared over at Kanone momentarily after he had said 'don't mention it' and continued on about being owed dinner. Even if he was joking she really wouldn't mind making dinner. It was something she enjoyed doing and right about now she was ready to do something she liked, just to take her mind off all of the crap that had gone on in the last day or so. She sighed quietly and watched him leave without so much as giving him a response before he left. She continued to sit there for a moment longer before she started to draw her legs up so that she could lean forward on them a little. She rested her head down against her eyes lightly and tried not to focus on the way her ankles were bent or the fact that pressure was being put on them this way which was a little uncomfortable. She shut her eyes for a few moments while she waited for Hikari to come back with that drink. She started to crack her eyes open a little once she heard Hikari come back and set the glass down on the nightstand. She lifted her head from her knees long enough to look at the pillow she was handing her. She smiled weakly; she didn't need to go get another pillow. She took the pillow and carefully slid it behind her for the time being since she wasn't laying down and then started to reach over for the glass. She wrapped her fingers around it and lifted it up from the nightstand and tried to quickly pull it over to her so that she could use both hands to hold onto it. She stared down at the glass for a moment before looking back over to Hikari. "...T-thank ...you..." She mumbled quietly and then started to take a sip of the water. She was rather relieved that the cold had felt just as good as she hoped it would on her sore throat. She was a lot thirstier than she thought she was because she managed to finish off the glass of water without really even noticing until an ice cube had hit her lip. She pulled the glass back and then started to fish one of the ice cubes out before sticking it in her mouth. She then started to put the glass back on the nightstand before noticing the other empty one. She eyed it for a moment before looking towards the pillow that was now on the floor. It was pretty obvious just by looking at it that the previous glass of water went to drenching the flaming pillow. That already looked like a nice mess to both clean up and explain.
Aamori smiled weakly after Celestine had taken her arm and told her that she looked like she may kill herself before she reached the other house. Honestly, that was probably a good possibility with the exception that falling in the sand didn't sound like it would hurt too much, if at all. "I think the worst I may have to worry about is a twisted ankle... the sand won't kill me." She mumbled quietly. She continued towards the other house and finally glanced back over at Celestine for a moment after they had pretty much neared the house. "...How long do you think before Marius gives you the okay to be out of the house again?" |
Hikari smiled slightly when LaRae took the pillow and put it behind her and then watched with an almost amused expression as she started to drink the water so quickly. She shook her head a little and then turned to go to the other side of the room and knelt down to pick up the remains of the cast that she had pulled off of LaRae's arm earlier and then walked over to the garbage to throw them away. She glanced back to LaRae again just as she was setting the glass down. she glanced down to the ruined pillow in the floor and then walked over to pick it up. It was a little heavy but at least it wasn't dripping much, yet. She scurried around the bed with it and then took it into the bathroom and carried it over to the tub before just dropping it. She figured a place with a drain would be the best place to let it dry out. She finally pressed down on it, trying to squeeze more water out of it so that it would dry a little faster, not that she knew what to do with it once it was dry. It was kind of toasted right in the middle. Finally she just left it and then headed back into the bedroom and wandered over to the other side of the bed where LaRae was laying and tilted her head a little. "I'll go get you a refill," she said with a slight smile as she picked up her glass. She needed to take the other one to the kitchen anyway, so she snagged that one as well before she started for the door again.
Celestine rolled his eyes a little when she said that the sand wouldn't kill her. "You know what I meant..." he said dryly before he sighed heavily. "I don't really know...Considering that I've already been out, I guess it doesn't really matter." He didn't know how much longer Marius would keep him cooped up, but he was doing a lot better than he had been. He was still trying to get rid of the stuffy nose and cough but his fever was at least gone and he was feeling a little better now that he had been in previous days. |
LaRae kept an eye on Hikari while she moved about the room. It was at the very least something else to think about since she wasn't all that thrilled with the idea of sitting on the bed that had just previously had a burning pillow on it. Not to mention she kind of suspected that the whole pillow catching on fire thing maybe had something to do with Nanashi? Or at least she kind of thought it might. That made the most sense to her at the moment, especially since there hadn't really been anything else that she could blame it on. Pillows just didn't randomly start burning. She watched Hikari once she had disappeared into the bathroom with the wet pillow and then started to lean against her legs again, at least until she had slipped back out of the bathroom. She nodded her head in response when Hikari came back over and said that she would get her a refill. "...Thank you..." She told her quietly, her voice not sounding quite as raspy as it had before. She waited until Hikari had both glasses and started out of the room to shift again. She really was a little uncomfortable with the idea of being on this bed at the moment, especially without knowing exactly what caused the pillow to break into flames like that. With her fear the way it was she wouldn't be that surprised to go to lay down again and have this new pillow burning in seconds. That was just her imagination running a little wild but considering how much random fire scared her it wasn't that surprising that she'd think that. She moved the blanket off of her legs and started to turn so that her legs were over the edge of the bed. She glanced back towards Nanashi momentarily and half felt bad about thinking of leaving but right now she just wanted to get up and away from the bed. She planted her feet on the floor and started to carefully stand herself up and practically hobble towards the door. She figured she'd be a little safer once she reached the door, at least then she had something a little more stable to hold onto.
Aamori paused once she had made it to the stairs to head up to the porch and looked at Celestine. "If he is going to just let you out like you please, you should at least sleep inside at night where it's warmer." She told him. "It does get pretty cold here at night... you don't need to get sick all over again just because you can't stand being inside and in a warm bed..." She added and then started to lift her foot up to head up the steps and onto the porch. She didn't particularly like it when he was sick so of course she wanted to take the steps needed to stay healthy and unfortunately being out in the cold here all night when he still had a stuffy nose and a cough weren't going to help keep him from getting sick again. |
Hikari, again, didn't take very much time getting out of the bedroom and walking down to the kitchen. She moved over to the sink and sat the empty glass down in the sink before refilling the one with the remaining ice cube inside. Once again she sat the glass on the counter and then moved over to the freezer to get a new ice cube and dropped it into the glass before she picked it up again and started to move back toward the bedroom again, though she paused when she spotted LaRae coming out of it again and just tilted her head a little at the sight of her. She didn't really know that LaRae was as afraid of fire as she was, so she didn't understand why she would be coming out here. "...LaRae...I was going to bring it back to you..." she said softly.
Nanashi was just laying there with his eyes closed tightly until he felt the bed moving. He cracked his eyes open a little, finding it difficult to even keep them open as he watched LaRae get out of the bed. He stared after her for a moment but he didn't try to stop her from leaving. He just closed his eyes again and curled up in a slightly tighter ball, curling his arm back around his stomach again since she was no longer sitting there for him to touch. Well...at least she was able to get up. Frankly he didn't really want to be laying here either as that pillow had more or less scared the crap out of him as well, but he knew that if he tried to move much he was going to be doubled over the toilet, and his head honestly hurt a little too much to even think of raising it. After having it smalled into the stone walkways about three times yesterday it didn't take much to make it hurt, so startling himself out of the bed and falling off backwards hadn't helped him in the least. He was almost certain that he had a concussion and he wasn't helping it by knocking his head around so much so really...he didn't even want to attempt moving himself. Dizzy as he was when he did raise his head he had a feeling he'd just fall over anyway. Kanone glanced over to the door when he heard someone else coming out and blinked when he saw LaRae exit the bedroom. "What are...whoa....um...." he averted his eyes rather quickly when he finally realized what she was wearing. That shirt barely covered her as it was and considering that he was at a low angle he was able to see a little more than he was meant to. He just blushed and stared off toward the door to Hikari's room for now, waiting for LaRae to wander along elsewhere so he wouldn't be tempted to stare at her bum. Celestine sighed heavily as he started up the steps beside her, still absently holding onto her arm. He shook his head a little when she told him to sleep inside. "...It isn't the bed that bothers me... I just sleep better when I'm outside...it's what I'm used to." He had honestly gotten semi used to being indoors again, though he still could barely stand to stay in a room with all of the windows closed for too long, but at least being inside was tolerable. It was just the fact that he was so used to sleeping outdoors with the wind hitting him and even sitting up a good deal of the time, it was really hard to sleep in the bed. Honestly, he would probably have better luck falling asleep perched in the windowsill, though that would entirely defeat the purpose as he would still be half out side and not covered up. Once they made it up onto the porch he finally released her arm and moved up to the door to open it for her, though he ended up going on inside and holding it from in there only to close it behind her. |
LaRae hadn't really thought to grab a blanket or anything to cover up with, frankly she was just in a hurry to get out of the room and away from that bed. Since she'd had a bit of a brain fart in the covering up department it seemed that Kanone anyone else for that matter was just going to have to deal with her being dressed the way she was and at this time she didn't entirely care that she was so exposed. She had reached the door and practically latched onto it as she started to move out into the hall. She lifted her eyes a bit and looked over at Hikari when she heard her speak and then looked at the glass of water she had in her hand. "...I know..." She started. "...I ...j-just ...wanted out..." She said quietly. She stood there for a moment longer before she started to open her mouth again. "...T-that bed ...it could ...catch on fire ...again..." She mumbled. She hoped it was obvious that on the off chance that the bed caught a blaze again she didn't want to be anywhere near it.
Aamori looked at Celestine after he had started responding and nodded her head slightly. "I kind of know that..." She said quietly when he said that he slept better outside. That had pretty much become obvious, especially since his prime choice for a sleeping place was usually outside if that wasn't the only option. "...I don't want you to get sick again, and if you did it'd probably be worse than the first time..." She started. "...Even though you don't care to sleep inside, just do it. At least for a couple more days, until you're not stuffy anymore." She told him quietly and then slipped into the house since he'd opened the door for her. Zale hadn't quite made it up the stairs to follow after the two of them as he'd spotted something a little more interesting under the house and he had made his way over to inspect. |
Hikari sighed softly when LaRae said that she just wanted out of the bed and that it could catch on fire again. She smiled weakly and then shook her head before she continued down the hall to where she had stopped and reached down to tug her shirt down again since she noticed that Kanone was trying his best not to look at her. She wrapped her arm gently around LaRae's waist again to help steady her and then started forward. "It's alright..." she said gently, "...I do not believe that you will have to worry about the bed again...but you can come and sit with me in the kitchen for now." She glanced down to LaRae's legs again and then sighed softly. "...You didn't happen to notice where anyone put your clothes did you, dear?" she asked quietly, "You shouldn't walk around like this around all of the boys..." She moved over to the table slowly and then sat the glass of water down and then moved over to pull out the chair for her to sit down.
Celestine sighed again when Aamori told him to sleep inside for a few more days. "...Alright, alright..." he said with a sigh as he closed the door. "I doubt that Marius will let me sleep outside anyway so long as he is here..." He blinked when he noticed Zale going under the house and then sighed softly. Well, apparently he'd found the blades...he didn't really know why else he would be going under there. He finally glanced back to Aamori for a moment and then looked further into the house, spotting LaRae and Hikari at the table. He hovered there for a few moments and then sighed softly. He guessed he would go to talk to Zale in a few minutes after he went to see how LaRae and Nanashi were doing. |
LaRae was relieved that Hikari had put her arm around her waist again to help steady her and she was kind of glad that she didn't have to ask for the help. She looked over to Hikari for a moment after they had started forward and she had said that it was alright, then continued on to say that she didn't believe she would have to worry about the bed again. She didn't know that to be one way or the other really and Hikari probably couldn't promise that something like that wouldn't happen again especially since she had no real idea on how it happened to begin with. She was at least glad that she wasn't being turned around and waltzed right back into the bedroom. She stared at Hikari for a moment once she had asked if she knew where anyone had put her clothes and that she shouldn't walk around like she was because of the boys. She shook her head weakly. "...No ...sorry." She mumbled quietly. Unfortunately she hadn't really seen what had happened to her clothes. Once she was set down in the bed last night she really didn't pay very much attention to anything unless it was involving her directly and even then she couldn't say that she was paying as much attention as she could. After she neared the table and Hikari had pulled a chair out for her she set her hands down on the table itself and slowly worked herself around to sit in the chair. She started to reach for the glass of water once she was seated though all she did was pull it closer to her.
Aamori lingered by the door only for a few moments before she started further into the house. She had seen Hikari and LaRae and she was a little surprised to see LaRae out of bed already. She had kind of thought she'd spend more time in the bed given the state she was in yesterday. She paused once she reached the end of the short hall that opened up into the kitchen and dinning area and looked over towards Hikari and then glanced to LaRae. "How're things?" She asked curiously. She half wondered if this meant that Nanashi was awake too, though judging by the fact that he wasn't out here as well he could very well still be asleep. |
Hikari sighed softly when LaRae said that she didn't know where her clothes were and then just offered her a weak smile. "...It's alright...I'll find them," she assured her softly. Once she had gotten herself situated at the table she looked over toward the door to see who had come in and half smiled when she saw Aamori and Celestine. She just stood beside LaRae's chair until Aamori had gotten up to then and tilted her head a little when she asked how things were. "...Well...we've all had an...eventful morning...to say the least," she told her before she glanced back to LaRae. "But LaRae's found her voice again," she said with a slight smile as she placed a hand on her shoulder gently. She looked back to Aamori again and sighed, "I'm afraid one of the pillows is ruined...and I'm not entirely sure how it happened, but...it has a pretty large burn mark in the middle of it."
Celestine simply followed Aamori up to the table and stood off to the side of her silently, though he tilted his head a little when she mentioned the pillow having a burn in it. "...?" He sighed and shook her head a little before he looked over to LaRae again and laid his ears back a little at the sight of her wrists. He hadn't really seen her other than when she was being carried back to the house last night. He absently moved a little closer to LaRae's side and reached down to place his fingertips lightly to her bruised wrists. He still didn't say anything, but he did have an unusually soft look on his face and his touch was gentle. He just hoped that she hadn't been hurt too badly, and frankly as panicked as Nanashi had been he had been pretty worried about her last night. It was probably hard to believe after the way he had treated her when they first met, but after being around her for a while he had gotten used to her and after the things that she had done at the graveyard and the talk that they had on the roof of the training building, he had actually come to like her a little...surprising as that was even to him. He still hated her clan, but at least LaRae had proved herself to be likable since she wasn't anything like what he pictured when he thought of the earth clan. |
LaRae nodded her head again lightly after Hikari had said that it was alright and that she would find her clothes. Given her current state of mind she really wasn't caring that much that she wasn't fully clothed or not. She started to glance towards Aamori and then Celestine briefly once they started into the room. She turned her eyes away once Hikari had started to speak and then lifted up the glass of water to take a sip, trying to be mindful not to finish off the whole glass this time. She lifted her head again slightly once she felt Celestine touch her wrist. She just sat there quietly for a few moments with her eyes practically locked on his fingers touching her wrist. It didn't exactly bother her, she just hoped he refrained from applying any pressure. The bruises didn't exactly hurt when touched but under enough pressure it'd hurt a great deal. She sighed quietly and finally started to glance up at Celestine for a moment though she didn't bother to say anything she just gave a very weak smile and then dropped her eyes back down towards the glass of water in front of her.
Aamori couldn't help but tilt her head a little after Hikari had said that they had an eventful morning. It had been pretty quiet when she first came to check up on everyone and the only person awake was Kanone. She was a little surprised that anything had really gone on between the time she was here last and now. Her eyes widened slightly after hearing Hikari say that one of the pillows had been ruined and due to a large burn mark in the middle of it. She was probably most surprised to hear that something had caught on fire to begin with. She shifted glances briefly between Hikari and LaRae and then shook her head slightly. "How in the world did that happen..." She mumbled, mostly to herself since Hikari had said before that she wasn't entirely sure what had happened. "Is everyone alright?" She thought to ask. Hikari and LaRae seemed to be alright but she couldn't very well speak for Nanashi or Kanone. "...Do you know what lead up to the pillow catching on fire?" She asked a little curiously. Surely there must have been something that happened, or caused it to happen. |
Celestine simply returned her weak smile with one of his own when she looked up to him and then pulled his hand back only to let it come to rest on her shoulder. He was only half listening to the conversation between Aamori and Hikari, only because he was a little interested in how the pillow caught fire. He could tell that LaRae wasn't really in a talking mood so he still didn't say anything to her. He just slipped his arm gently around her shoulders and leaned down to nuzzle his head against hers gently. Normally he wasn't quite so affectionate, especially in front of people, but LaRae looked like she could use it and frankly...he thought Hikari and Aamori were to immersed in conversation to notice.
Hikari shook her head and shrugged a little when Aamori asked how that had happened. "I really have no idea...well I have an idea but...I'm not sure..." She nodded slightly when she asked if everyone was alright. "Yes, no one was burned... I believe LaRae and Nanashi both toppled out of the bed and it looked like Kanone tripped over one of the chaise chairs, but short of that everyone is fine." She sighed when she asked if she knew what led up to the pillow catching and then shook her head a little. "All that I know is what LaRae told me... She tried to wake Nanashi and then the pillow caught on fire." She placed one hand on her hip and then sighed. "...I don't know for certain what caused it...my only guess was that Nanashi did it...somehow, but...well I don't know how. LaRae said that he didn't sneeze or anything, thus far it has been proven that a dragon half has no magical capabilities to summon their element so...I really don't know how it happened." |
LaRae was only half paying attention to Aamori and Hikari's conversation herself, mostly because she had already heard most of it. She was a little surprised once Celestine had slipped his arm around her shoulders and started to nuzzle his head against hers. That was a rather affectionate little motion and she certainly hadn't expected anything of the sort from Celestine. They had at least managed to talk a little that one day and she seemed to think they were on slightly better terms but she was rather surprised at him right this moment. She didn't care too much that Aamori and Hikari were preoccupied with the conversation that they were having, she could only handle so much attention all at once at the moment and three people, verses just Celestine was probably going to make her a little uncomfortable.
Aamori nodded her head slightly after listening to Hikari though she wasn't entirely understanding of the pillow just catching on fire. "...At least everyone is alright." She commented quietly. "...Honestly, it all sounds a little bizarre." She paused. "Pillows don't just catch on fire... and yet you say one did... and Nanashi can't use magic to start fires..." She shook her head lightly. It really didn't make any sense to her, especially since it had been proven that people like Nanashi couldn't summon their element and since there isn't anyone else really among them that could summon fire it was all kind of boggling. "...That's all just a little weird..." She mumbled quietly. "How's Nanashi feeling today, do you know?" |
Fortunately for LaRae, Celestine wasn't all that comfortable being too affectionate in front of other and didn't particularly want to get caught in the act so after he nuzzled her he raised his head and pulled his arm back again before stepping away from her. She didn't seem to be responding much to the motion anyway but at least she knew he cared...that or thought he was high on something. He sighed softly and then glanced over to Aamori briefly when she asked about Nanashi. That was really the only other thing he was interested in over here. Beyond that he just wanted to go talk to Zale...assuming he was still here.
Hikari nodded a little in agreement when Aamori said that it all sounded a little bizarre. "...I know it does...but it happened..." she said with a soft sigh, "All I can think is to ask Nanashi if he knows how it happened...later. I don't think he is up for being asked questions right now." Hikari shook her head again slightly when Aamori asked how Nanashi was feeling. "Well...I think he's been better... I'm fairly certain he has a concussion and I think he hit his head again today when he fell off of the bed... He's still in bed, but when we left he was just curled up and looked like he might be sick... I'm fairly certain he has a pretty bad headache, but there's nothing I can really do about it... Unless there is an ice pack around here somewhere, that should help a little." |
LaRae glanced over at Celestine again briefly once he had stepped away from her. She smiled weakly at him and then reached for the glass again to take another sip of her water. She didn't mean to come off as unresponsive to his affections but she just didn't feel very well all together. She sighed quietly and set her arms against the table so that she could lean forward a little. She glanced between the three of them for a moment. She was kind of hungry but she didn't feel like asking for anything right this moment and she also wasn't really prepared to get up and fix something either.
Aamori was kind of finding it hard to believe that the pillow had caught on fire. It as a whole was just hard to believe, stuff like that just didn't happen. She listened quietly once Hikari had gotten around to telling her about Nanashi; how he was feeling. She nodded her head slightly after she heard everything and then sighed quietly. "I feel kind of bad for him... a lot of bad things have happened to him while he's been here and I kind of hate that there isn't anything that can really be done for him to expedite the process to get around to feeling better." She shook her head slightly and then tried to think for a moment about an ice pack. "...I'm not too familiar with everything that's in these houses..." She started. "...I'm not sure if there's an actual icepack in the house but I think I'd probably check the first aid kits first. There might be something in there that you can use for an icepack on the off chance that there isn't an actual icepack in there." She finally remembered about the shirt she was holding onto and then held it up a little. "Oh! and Sanura already had this made for Nanashi. It's a new shirt." She told her. |
Celestine looked back down to LaRae again when he noticed her glance at him and again returned the weak smile before he glanced away again. He didn't really care that she didn't seem all that responsive, from what he'd gathered she hadn't been responding much to anything, so the little smile was enough for him. He sighed softly when he heard about how Nanashi was doing and then shook his head a little as he crossed his arms over his chest. He felt bad for Nanashi as well, especially considering that he never hurt a soul. It would take a lot of hard evidence to ever make him believe that Nanashi had started any confrontation that he'd been caught up in, especially after watching him with Kyran. It took him being chased around the entire training area, hit in the face, and cornered before he finally did something besides block.
Hikari sighed softly and then shook her head a little when she said that she felt bad for Nanashi. "...I know...but he just needs to rest for a while and stay out of harm's way." The first time he had gotten up he really hadn't been ready to go deal with the guardian and the second time he really didn't need to be up wandering around the island, especially not alone. Still it seemed bad luck seemed to gravitate toward him as he had gotten the worse of Varun's scales and had the misfortune of coming across someone who was actually willing to attack him. She nodded slightly when Aamori said that there might be an ice pack int he first aid kit. "Alright...I'll look there in a minute," she said before she smiled slightly at the sight of the shirt. "Well, I'm sure he will appreciate that..." she said softly. She could kind of tell that Nanashi was a little skin shy as he seemed to always try to keep everything that he possibly could covered. That reminded her...she still had his gloves. "His gloves are still in my room too...if you want you can give those back to him as well while I check the first aid kit to see if I can find an ice pack." |
Aamori nodded her head again lightly after hearing Hikari say that Nanashi needed to rest for awhile and stay out of harms way. She agreed of course, she just felt terrible that 'out of harms way' also seemed to include leaving this house by himself. She was a little upset that someone from her clan had attacked him like they did and for no reason. She may not be fond of fire clan dragons but Nanashi was a completely different story and he couldn't hurt a water dragon the way a full blooded fire dragon could so she couldn't imagine what would make someone from her clan attack him unprovoked. She shook her head slightly and then looked back to Hikari after she said that Nanashi would probably appreciate the shirt. She thought he might, especially since he wasn't going to have to wait for it like Kyran was going to. She listened quietly once Hikari was telling her about his gloves and nodded her head again lightly. "Okay." She started. "I'll be right back then." She said as she held onto the folded up shirt and proceeded to head back towards the room that Hikari was using. She paused at the door briefly and looked back to Hikari. "...You don't mind if I just go in, do you?" She asked. She didn't want to just barge in there even if she had been told she could give Nanashi back his gloves. It was Hikari's room after all, or at least for the time being.
|
Hikari smiled slightly when Aamori said that she would be right back and then shook her head slightly and looked back to LaRae again. She was going to have to go in there herself to check the first aid kit so she may as well go with her. "...I'll be back in a few minutes, LaRae," she said softly. She turned and started to move down the hallway herself before she shook her head a little when Aamori asked about going in. "Go ahead...I'm right behind you," she said with a soft chuckle. "The first aid kit is in here anyway," she reminded her. She started over to the door and waited for Aamori to go on inside before she started in after her. She never had moved the first aid kit from the dresser where Levana had put it. Nanashi's gloves were still sticking in the remaining pocket of her shorts which were still folded on the dresser as well. She moved over to the kit and took it off of the dresser before she sat it down in the floor and knelt in front of it before opening it up and starting to shift through it's contents to see if there was indeed an ice pack inside.
Celestine watched as Aamori and Hikari started to walk back toward the bedroom again and then looked back to LaRae again. He just looked at her for a moment and then glanced back toward the doors for a moment before he turned his attention back to LaRae. He did still want to go outside, but he thought it would be a little rude to wander off and leave her sitting here all alone now that Hikari and Aamori were gone. He just pulled out the chair beside her and sank down into it for now. He looked back over to her again and offered her a weak smile before he shook his head a little. "...Sounds like you had a rough day..." he said quietly, finally deciding to speak since she was alone now. He leaned his own arms on the table and tilted his head a little, "...Do you need anything?" he offered. He couldn't cook but he was pretty good at finding things that didn't need to be cooked to eat, or he could get her a refill on the water or...well he could try to do what ever she needed him to. |
Aamori felt a little silly for pausing at the door and asking Hikari for permission to go inside when she was right behind her and heading inside herself. She guessed she didn't really need to go in there since Hikari was going after the first aid kit that was inside as well. However, in her defense, she hadn't been aware of the location of the first aid kit. She smiled weakly and opened the door, stepping inside and then off to the side a little. She wasn't entirely sure where the gloves were and she hadn't even thought to look with another article of clothing so even if they were noticeable to Hikari she'd most likely over looked them on her once over of the room. She watched as Hikari got the first aid kit down and started to rummage through it in search of an icepack. She wasn't really sure that the first aid kit had an icepack but if it didn't than it surely would have something that could be used as one. The first aid kits were kind of well rounded at the very least with a little bit of everything in them that one might need. She continued to watch Hikari for a moment before she glanced around the room again. "...So ...where are the gloves?" She asked quietly and hoped like there was no tomorrow that they weren't right under her nose.
LaRae continued to sit at the table while staying relatively silent. The only noise she was bothering to make was moving the glass so that she could take a sip of water. She did nod her head very briefly when Hikari said that she would be back in a few minutes. She glanced over to Celestine momentarily once he had started to pull the chair out beside her so that he could sit down as well. She just kind of stared at him briefly after he had said that it sounded like she had a rough day. That was an understatement, especially since she hadn't even fully recovered from the days events prior. "...Yeah..." She responded finally quietly and then glanced away. She eyed her glass once he had asked if she needed anything. She'd only finished about half of the glass of water so she didn't need a refill just yet but she was hungry. She just wasn't so sure she wanted to bother Celestine with that, especially considering his diet. She didn't eat a whole lot of fruits and vegetables, those were side items in her eyes and frankly, she really didn't want to ask him to get her anything. She glanced back over at him very briefly and then shook her head. "...No, I'm good..." She said quietly though mere moments after the words had escaped her mouth her stomach growled in protest. |
Hikari continued to shift through the items in the first aid kit until Aamori spoke to her again. She looked up to her for a moment and then back to the dresser. "Oh...sorry," she said with a slight laugh as she stood up and reached over to her shorts and snagged the glove that was handing half out of the pocket. She hadn't really expected Aamori to see it since it was on the other side of the shorts from where she was standing. She held the glove out to her and then half smiled, "Actually I only had the one...I had to take it off when he broke his arm, I think he still has the other one on." She let Aamori take the glove and then knelt back down to the first aid kit before she found what she was pretty sure was an ice pack. "...Is this it?" she asked as she held it up for her to see. She was pretty sure that it was, but even if it wasn't well...she could turn it into one.
Celestine nodded his head slightly when she agreed that she had a rough day. He lowered his eyes to her glass for a moment when she said that she was good and then nodded again until he heard her stomach. He smiled slightly and then shook his head a little before he moved to get up. He knew that LaRae liked to eat meat, but he couldn't cook that so he would just have to try to do something to tide her over. He went to the kitchen and washed his hands before he opened the cabinet, actually having to tiptoe to get down a plate. He looked around for a moment for a knife and then reached over to the basket of fruit. Normally he wasn't one to do a lot of cutting, he would just peel it and eat, but since LaRae's wrists looked the way they did he decided to go a little more. He was used to eating things like this so he managed to peel the fruit quickly. He didn't know what LaRae would like, so he just peeled a few different fruits and sliced them up for her, starting with a papaya and then a dragon fruit before he moved on to a mango. He would have cut her a pineapple but that was big and he wasn't entirely sure how to cut those up exactly. After he'd placed everything on the plate he put the knife int he sink and carried the plate over to the table before he sat it down in front of LaRae. "Here..." he said quietly before he took a seat again. |
Aamori watched Hikari as she stood up to retrieve the glove. She stepped a little closer and took the glove as soon as it was held out to her. "Oh, alright." She responded when Hikari said that she actually only had one glove. She hadn't been around when Hikari had looked at Nanashi's arm so she hadn't been aware that she had one of his gloves and before in the kitchen she had said gloves so she had thought she had both of them. It wasn't like it mattered so long as Nanashi did indeed still have the other one on. She didn't exactly want to find out that one of the gloves was missing and that she'd have to get Sanura to make another one. Sanura had already been making a lot lately. She really out did herself, especially with the new outfit she'd made for her. She took the glove and the shirt together and draped them over one arm and then looked back down to Hikari when she asked about the icepack. She eyed what she had in her hand and nodded her head slightly. "Yes, I believe so." She answered. Even if it wasn't supposed to be an icepack it could still be used as one but she was fairly certain that was the purpose it was meant for when placed in the first aid kit. Either that or something warm could be placed inside to make it a heating pack. She started to turn towards the door. "I'm going to go ahead and let Nanashi know about this stuff..." She paused. "Which room is he in?" She asked since she wasn't entirely sure what room he was in.
LaRae was embarrassed that her stomach had growled like it had but you wouldn't necessarily tell that by looking at her face. All she'd done was avert her eyes slightly and continue to be quiet, almost ignoring it completely as if it had never happened to begin with. She shifted her glance slightly when she noticed that Celestine was getting up. She only watched him for a moment as he went to wash his hands and then completely looked away all together while he was doing whatever it was he was doing in the kitchen. She was a little surprised when he finally came back over to the table and he had set a plate down in front of her. She hadn't expected him to do anything for her, let alone take the time to stand there in the kitchen and cut up all of this fruit for her. She glanced over to him momentarily and smiled weakly. "...Thank you..." She told him quietly before looking down at the plate of food. She'd never had fruit from Kairava before but she didn't know of many foods that she hated. She loved to cook and she kind of had a love for almost all foods. She started to reach for one of the pieces of mango to try that first and took a small bite of it rather than shoving the whole thing in her mouth. Her face barely reacted to the taste even though she'd never really had anything quite like it before. She didn't dislike it so she finished off the rest of the piece she had and then proceeded to pick up another. |
Hikari nodded again when Aamori said that this was probably the ice pack and then smiled slightly. "Well it will work," she said simply as she closed up the first aid kit and then picked it up and placed it back on the dresser again before she looked back to Aamori again. "Oh...he's right across the hall," she informed her. She blinked when she finally actually got around to looking at Aamori's clothes, she hadn't really been paying much attention when she first walked in. She raised an eyebrow, finding the outfit interesting to say the least, though she really did like it. Right now she didn't bother to say anything about it since Aamori had something to do and she did as well. She started out of the bedroom after Aamori had left and then continued on down the hall again to return to the kitchen. She glanced over to LaRae and Celestine for a moment before she continued into the kitchen and went to the freezer to get out some ice to put into the ice pack. once she had filled the pack she closed it and set it on the counter while she refilled the ice trays and put them back in the freezer again before she started to move back toward the hall again to get back to the bedroom.
Celestine nodded his head a little when LaRae thanked him for the food. "...You're welcome," he said simply. He watched her try a bit of it and then tilted his head a little. He guessed she must have liked it since she finished eating it and went for another piece. He turned his attention back to Hikari for a moment when she went into the kitchen and then looked back to LaRae again. He offered her a weak smile and then placed his a hand on her shoulder lightly. "...Hopefully that will tide you over for a bit... Sorry...I just can't cook anything..." He glanced away for a moment and then pulled his hand back. "...I'm going to go back outside for a while...if Aamori asks..." he said quietly and then added, "unless you want me to stay." He didn't really mind either way, but he kind of got the impression that LaRae wasn't entirely comfortable with a lot of attention and probably didn't really care if he was here or not so unless she expressed wanting him to stay he thought it was probably safe to go on outside since she had been taken care of food wise...or at least to the best of his ability. |
Aamori nodded her head once Hikari had answered her question about which room Nanashi was in. She proceeded out of the room once she knew and then straight across the hall. She had noticed before that Kanone was in one of the chaise chairs but her mind wasn't exactly on him at the moment so she hadn't bothered to even glance at him. She tapped lightly on the door to the room Nanashi was in once she had reached it, mostly to let him know that someone was coming in if he was awake and that way she wasn't being loud just in case he was asleep. She slipped into the room and stepped a bit closer to the bed and tilted her head slightly while she eyed Nanashi. She was curious to know if he was awake but she didn't want to say anything in case he was asleep. After all, if the morning had been as eventful as Hikari had said then Nanashi likely needed as much sleep as he could get.
LaRae continued to finish off the piece of mango that she had picked up and then started to reach for another. She didn't bother removing her eyes from the plate when she heard Hikari come back to the kitchen. Or at least she had assumed it was Hikari by the sounds of it, especially after she had gone to the freezer for ice. She did glance over to Celestine for a moment after he had touched her shoulder and commented that hopefully the fruit would tide her over and then even apologized because he couldn't cook anything. "It's alright... no need to apologize." She told him quietly. "...and thank you again..." She added quietly before picking up and finishing off another piece of fruit. She was glad that he had cut this up without her having to ask, it was a nice gesture and she was getting to quiet her stomach since she hadn't eaten much at all yesterday. She shook her head slightly after he had asked if she wanted him to stay. "...No, go ahead." She paused. "...I'll let her know..." She added quietly. Her throat was at least starting to feel better now. The water had helped and so was the fruit, thankfully. She didn't mind a little attention here and there and wouldn't have minded one bit if Celestine had wanted to sit with her longer but if there had been something else he wanted to do than she certainly wasn't going to keep him any longer than she already had, even if it was unintentional. |
Kanone wasn't really doing anything other than laying there and more or less trying to stay out of everyone's way. He didn't say anything to Hikari or Aamori as they were running back and forth between rooms, and he had also noticed Aamori's new getup, but he didn't bother to comment on it since she hadn't stopped to say anything to him nor even looked in his direction. He'd catch her later if he remembered that he hadn't even commented on it in the first place. Right now he just wanted to make himself small.
Nanashi still hadn't really moved from his curled up position on the bed, though he still hadn't gone to sleep either. His aching head wouldn't even allow that. He did crack his eyes open at the sound of the door opening, even though he had ignored the knock. It was probably apparently by the look in his eyes that he didn't even want to have his eyes open as they were nothing but narrow red slits at the moment. His stomach still hadn't decided to stop churning, and his head still felt like it was being pounded with a mallet. After he saw Aamori he tried to open his eyes a little more and set up, though he rather quickly settled back on his side again and shut his eyes tightly as he gritted his teeth, half afraid that the movement was going to cause him to toss his cookies. He would have whined were Aamori not standing there. He knew it was probably obvious upon looking at him that he was miserable, but he didn't want to confirm it by whining about it. He couldn't help the way he looked since he could barely move without feeling sick, but he could at least help the way he sounded, or he liked to think he could at least. Hikari was a little ways behind Aamori on entering the room and she sighed softly when she saw him still laying there in the same positions with his eyes closed. She shook her head slightly and then sighed before she moved closer to Aamori and looked at him as well. "...Is he awake?" she asked quietly. She couldn't really tell, but she thought he might be...mostly because his eyes looked as if they were closed too tightly for him to be asleep. Celestine nodded slightly when LaRae thanked him again and offered her a weak smile before he sighed. He have hr another short nod when she said that she would let Aamori know for him and then moved a little closer to her, wrapping an arm around hr shoulders as he nuzzled her gently. "Thank you," he said quietly before he stepped away from her again and turned to head back down the hallway to the double doors. Once he reached them he opened one and slipped out onto the porch again, closing the door behind him as he did so. After a moment he moved over to the steps and then came to a stop before leaning down a little to see if Zale was still under the house. "...Zale?" |
Aamori merely smiled weakly at the sight of Nanashi after she'd noticed his eyes had opened, briefly, at the very least. She couldn't believe that he still looked as rough as he did, but given what she had heard a little bit ago she guessed it wasn't exactly that hard to believe. She glanced over to Hikari once she had come into the room and proceeded to ask if Nanashi was awake. "I'm pretty sure." She answered quietly. "His eyes were open up until a moment ago." She added quietly. She inched a little closer to the bed until her legs were touching the bed itself and then leaned over slightly while holding out the shirt and glove together. "...Nanashi..." She started. "I've got another shirt for you, and your other glove... when you're ready." She told him softly. She'd only bothered to hold the items out in case he wanted to see for himself before she set them down, or in case he was ready to put them on. Though, by the looks of it he wasn't in the shape to sit up long enough to put the shirt on and it really didn't matter at the time since he was laying in bed and had his coat on as well.
LaRae hadn't really expected Celestine to wrap his arms around her shoulder and nuzzle her again so she was a bit surprised that he had. He certainly was being rather affectionate, it was definitely a nice change from when he hated her like he did just because of her clan. She nodded her head slightly after he had thanked her. "...You're welcome." She told him quietly and then went back to eating the fruit on her plate. Zale really hadn't gone very far since Aamori and Celestine had gone inside. He'd spotted the blades under the house and had wanted to make sure they were his. He had thought they were since they did look like it from a distance. Now that he'd made sure they were his he was just kind of laying under the house, nearly on top of them. It was rather obvious to him that someone here had dug them out from the bottom of the ocean and judging by the people to pick from he assumed it had to have been Aamori. No one else here could possibly last long enough under water to even find them and somehow he guessed it may have been pure chance that she'd found them. He could smell that a couple of people had already touched the blades, or at least two and then Nobu and Esen had been around them as well. Other than that the blades smelt like sea water, as they should. He was half debating on whether or not he wanted to take advantage of this time to go hide the blades again or not. It wasn't like anyone had really laid any claim to them yet, especially since they were just sitting under the house like this. Not to mention he'd know if anyone had claimed them, as it was it seemed they'd been pulled up out of the ocean and forgotten. His ears perked up slightly when he heard Celestine call his name but he hadn't bothered to move. He was still laying there with his blades, a bit unwilling to budge at the moment. '....Yes?' He asked from where he was laying since he didn't particularly want to get up. |
Hikari nodded slightly when Aamori said that she was pretty sure that Nanashi was awake since his eyes had been open. She looked at him for a moment and then sighed softly, letting Aamori go ahead of her for now. She'd hold off a little on the ice pack just in case he did want to try and sit up to put on the shirt, though she somehow doubted that he was even willing to move.
Nanashi didn't budge and inch until he heard Aamori's voice so close to him and then he opened his eyes slowly and glanced up to her. He stared at the shirt for a moment and then nodded his head weakly against the pillow. "...Thank you..." he whispered quietly. He didn't want to speak in a normal tone, his own voice was almost enough to hurt his head. He tried again to sit himself up but he only managed to get about halfway before he had to lay back down yet again and curled back up, shutting his eyes back again tightly as he moved one hand to his mouth, pressing the back of his hand against it firmly for a few seconds. He flicked his tail once in obvious agitation that he couldn't even sit up without getting sick, of course he wasn't so sure laying down felt a whole lot better. Finally he opened his eyes again slightly and looked up at Aamori almost pitifully. He hated to be laying down when he had a visitor, and he knew Hikari was in the room as well, though he hadn't looked for her. "...Sorry..." he whispered quietly before he closed his eyes again. Hikari watched Nanashi for a moment and then finally moved forward and went around to the other side of the bed after watching him try and fail to sit up again. She sighed and placed a hand gently on his shoulder before she placed the ice pack gently on his head. "Just lay still..." she said gently, "this should help with the headache... You have a concussion, Nanashi, you're going to have to rest of a while...and try not to hit your head again. I don't think you will feel quite as sick once the swelling has had more of a chance to go down..." Nanashi sucked in his breath a little when Hikari placed the ice pack on his head, mostly because it was cold and he hadn't expected it, though he relaxed again fairly quickly and then glanced at her, or tried to since he couldn't see her from the way that he was laying. He sighed softly and then closed his eyes again. "...Thanks..." he responded quietly. He wasn't entirely sure that the ice was going to help but right now he certainly wasn't complaining about it. Celestine continued to stand there for a moment before he finally sighed and knelt down since he didn't want to stand leaned over like that for long. He noticed the way that Zale was sitting by the blades and sighed softly. "So they are yours..." he said quietly, "I thought so..." He tilted his head a little and looked at him for a moment. "...It's alright, Zale, no one is going to bother them here." He glanced at the blades for a moment and then sighed softly and shook his head. "...I'm sorry...I guess I should have taken them inside, I didn't really think about it... I don't even know if Aamori remembers finding them...she almost drown right after... Nobu and Esen have been taking care of them for you." |
