Kyran's curiosity got the better of him and he finally stopped just staring at the structure and moved closer to it. He rested his hand on one of the large columns once he approached it. He was a bit surprised at how cold the stone was, perhaps it was a type of marble? The entire stone structure all the way down to the stairs were made of the same cold stone. He removed his hand and started down the stairs practically wide-eyed the whole way. "...Amazing..." He mumbled quietly finally coming to a stop at the bottom of the stairs and in front of the large double doors. He was surprised at how tall the doors were considering his own height; The looked to be at least six feet taller then him. It didn't take too long for his eyes to focus on the tablet next to the doors, it wasn't exactly easily over looked. He moved over to it, standing in front of it. "Hmm..." He placed his hand to the tablet and ran his fingers over to the etched words. "...Part of this appears to be in my Clan's ancient language..." He mumbled quietly stopping his finger on a word that he couldn't read. Part of the tablet was written in the thunder clan's ancient language and the other half was written in the earth clan's ancient language. He sighed softly moving his hand away and backing up a little trying to decipher at least the part that he could read.
LaRae glanced over to see Nanashi's expression and chuckled softly before reaching over and placing her hand under his chin, pushing up slightly to try and close his mouth. "You don't want to catch bugs in there now do you?" She smiled a little and pulled her hand back down to her side. "Also, don't worry. I don't plan on letting my wings down again unless I need to. Though, when we do stop again I need to have the bandages tightened..." Her tone of course changed when she brought up that her bandages on her wings were loosened; She hated the idea of having to have them tightened. After all she just wanted them taken off. She then took a few steps and moved closer to the structure herself. Though she stopped at the top of the stairs and just looked down at Kyran who was inspecting the tablet. Aamori shook her head softly. "Idle chatter?" She paused. "There isn't anything wrong with liking to talk to someone, and sometimes there isn't anything 'important' as you put it to talk about." Her eyes still wandered all over the structure while she was talking to him, though now she'd taken a few steps closer to it. "Though, I could just ask something like 'How does that make you feel?' to the end of everything I ask you... Which would make you're response longer..." She chuckled softly of course just joking around. |
Hikari watched as Kyran went down the steps and slowly followed after him, hovering a little ways behind him. She looked around and ran her fingers lightly over one of the stones before looking back to the tablet again. At least now she could see it better. "...Wow...this must be really old..." she said as she eyed the script and then looked to Kyran. "...Can you read it?" she asked as her eyes went back to the tablet again. Upon closer inspection she could tell that it was two different languages, or at least two different dialects, but she couldn't really read either of them.
Nanashi closed his mouth when he felt LaRae's hand on his jaw and finally looked over at her again. He half smiled at her comment about catching bugs and just shook his head. He nodded when she told him that her bandages needed to be tightened. "Alright, I will...if you want." he told her. He watched her start forward and hesitated a moment before following her, coming to a stop close behind her. Celestine rolled his eyes slightly and continued forward. "It would lengthen my response to include the word 'annoyed.'" he said simply, "And lead me to wonder if you are trying to impersonate a psychologist." He passed her, moving closer to the structure, though he didn't go too near the steps when he realized that was where LaRae had stopped. He only went close enough to look down at Hikari and Kyran. |
Kyran looked over at Hikari when she asked if he could read it, he nodded softly. "Yes, some of it." He said simply looking back to the tablet. "I can read the top, and the very bottom. The stuff in the middle I would assume is Ancient Earthen script." He paused and glanced over his shoulder up the stairs at LaRae. "Since her Clan made this forest possible, I'd assume they may have helped with this structure. So maybe she can help." He said motioning over to LaRae. He then turned slightly and put his hand out motioning for LaRae to come down the stairs. "Lets see if you can read this."
LaRae smiled softly at his offer to help tighten her bandages. "That would be a lot of help." She said quietly before her attention was snagged by Kyran. She quirked a brow slightly and proceeded to head down the stairs over to Kyran and Hikari. She looked up at the tablet which he had been referring to and nodded her head slightly after focusing on it for a moment. "Yes, I can read the beginning and middle. But everything else, I can't." She said quietly; and quite to the point. "I guess you want me to read it for everyone then?" She asked shifting her eyes from the tablet to Kyran. Kyran nodded softly. "So I was right." He said quietly, almost to himself when he heard that she could read parts of it. "Yes, I'd like for you to read the parts that I can't. So I'll start with the small bit at the top, and then you read the following until you can't anymore and I'll finish up." He waited to make sure she understood what he had said, when she nodded slightly he turned back to the tablet and started to read aloud. "The top says... Tomb of the Hidden Thunder." Aamori half ignored everything that Celestine said once she saw LaRae start down the stairs. About the only thing she really caught was the part about impersonating a psychologist which only made her laugh lightly. Her attention was now on this structure once more and she was curious about where the others had gone; She moved over to the stairs, walking past Celestine and headed down them. She wasn't avoiding anyone anymore so she proceeded all the way down near the others. Though she stood off to the side a little so that she could hear, and wasn't crowding everyone. Nero had stopped walking like everyone else had, though he wasn't staring in awe at the building in front of them. He wasn't really taken by surprise, not even by the size of the place. Once he noticed that they had started to head down the stairs he moved again. He walked all the way to the stairs, stood for a moment near Nanashi; staring down at him through the corners of his eye and then proceeded down where everyone else was starting to gather. He too moved off to the side like Aamori had, though he went and stood on the other side of the large double doors and rested his back against the cold stone, shut his eyes and perked up his ears a little to listen in on what they were reading. LaRae's attention was grabbed momentarily by the sounds of the other two moving down the stairs. She turned slightly to watch them and then went back to looking at the tablet. After she heard the part that Kyran read she looked up at him for a moment as if asking if it was now her turn; She figured it was since the part at the very top of the tablet wasn't very long. She hesitated for a moment before reading, hoping she'd decipher this correctly. "Thou have found the Mirage Tomb of the Thunder Clan. Usually never seen and never in the same place twice." She paused, thinking that was like some strange disclaimer; or 'You Are Here' on a map. She continued on. "All who enter, Beware the Great Thunder, Nerian." Once she finished reading she looked up at Kyran and quirked a brow. She wondered what they meant when they said 'Great Thunder Nerian'? Did they name the relic Nerian? She sighed softly and then waited for Kyran to finish reading the tablet. Kyran had glanced away for a moment when he heard the other two walk down the stairs but looked back to the tablet when he heard LaRae start reading it. He nodded slightly hearing that this place was a mirage of some sort. That made sense now, considering he'd never seen it before. Maybe the seven of them had to be together for anyone to actually find the place? Or at least a Thunder and Earth dragon? He too quirked a brow slightly when she finished, he wasn't too sure what they meant by 'Great Thunder Nerian' But rather then question it right away he continued on with what the last part of the tablet said. "Thou should prepare to face great odds or turn back now. For thou are about to enter the sacred resting place of Nerian, the Thunder Guardian. Beware all Thunder dragons who enter..." His voice trailed off, having read ahead before speaking. If he had continued to read the rest would've said 'Your energy shall be fuel for the Great Nerian'. Of course that last part made him a bit curious as to what they meant and why had he never heard of this Nerian before? He sighed softly and shifted his eyes away from the tablet and to the large double doors. "Well, I'd assume after reading all of that... That the relic stands a pretty good chance of being inside." |
Hikari stood aside to allow LaRae room to get to the tablet and remained quiet as Kyran explained to her what he needed her to do.
Nanashi remained where he was on the steps, looking down at LaRae when she went forward. He didn't move until Nero came near him and he happened to catch him looking at him. He shifted to the side slightly and watched him move down the steps, following a moment later, though he moved closer to the side where Aamori stood and listed quietly to what part of the conversation that he came in on. Celestine watched Aamori and everyone else go down the steps and then sighed, guessing he'd best get over there as well. He moved down the steps so silently that he would probably scare someone when they turned around to find him behind them. Unfortunately he ended up right behind LaRae before he realized it...more interested in what the tablet had to say than who he was standing near. He listened without a sound to what was read, and then to Kyran's comment. Hikari was silent as they read and then sighed quietly when Kyran spoke without reading. She sounded as worried as she'd looked earlier. "I would say..." she said quietly, "...But I really don't like the sound of what else is in there..." She looked at Kyran with a worried expression, wondering why it was a warning onto to thunder dragons. Celestine had been looking at Kyran while re read and noticed his eyes still following words after he'd stopped reading aloud. "What does the rest of it say?" he asked, still eying him, "You cut off before it was finished." |
Kyran's glance shifted again, towards the tablet once again when he heard what Celestine had said. He didn't think anyone was paying that much attention, let alone enough to even notice that he had indeed stopped reading the tablet aloud. Rather then make eye contact with the guy he left his eyes focused on the tablet. Nearly at a loss for words; He didn't want to say what the last part said and get anyone more worried about entering the building. He stayed quiet for a moment trying to think of something else that it could have said. He couldn't think of anything right away and shifted his eyes back to the double doors for a moment. "...Oh... Yeah, sorry. It's a little hard to read that last part." He said quietly, making sure to sound convincing and very sure of himself. He hoped that would stop any further questions.
LaRae turned and looked at Celestine for a moment when she heard his voice and then looked to Kyran waiting for a response. She hadn't noticed that he stopped reading, but apparently Celestine caught it. She nodded softly when Kyran said it was hard to read; Which made some sense to her because it was a little hard in some places. Especially if you weren't used to reading ancient texts or if you didn't know how to read it. She sighed softly and then looked over at Hikari. "Don't like the sound of what else is in there?" She paused, thinking for a moment. "Oh, that Nerian thing?" She quirked a brow slightly. "...I didn't even know that Guardian's still existed..." Her voice now a bit quieter, as if she had stated something she knew she should've known. Aamori mere stood quietly listening to everything that was read off the tablet. Of course much of this wasn't a surprise to her; She did expect something similar to a Guardian to be protecting such things. At least she was given a little knowledge of such creatures from the Elders. It was important knowledge that she was going to need to know; Though she wasn't going to go broadcasting that she knew of some of the Guardians. This Nerian, though she'd never heard of. She sighed softly and kept quiet a bit longer listening in to some more of what was being said; Thinking to herself. |
Celestine stared at Kyran incredulously for a moment and then looked away. "Right." He said simply, apparently not buying that, but not going to push it. If they were going in here, he really would like to know what was going to be in there with them and if he was something that he needed to worry about. He finally looked at LaRae when she spoke and rolled his eyes. "Of course they still exist. Weren't you listening to the old man at the gathering house?" he said flatly before turning away and walking further away from her. He soon found himself standing near the back wall where Nero was leaning, looking irritated, though irritation was just one of the ways that Celestine expressed worry. He leaned back against the wall, crossing his arms and bracing one foot against the cold stone as his emerald and gold eyes stared at the ground.
Hikari sighed quietly and shook her head. "...Well...we are here.. and in order to go any further we're going to have to go inside, like it or not. I suggest we all just keep our guard up." she looked at Kyran seriously, "Especially you from the sound of it." Nanashi swallowed hard and crossed his arms over his chest. "...Great..." he muttered quietly. He closed his eyes for a moment and then opened them again, looking a little worried. He didn't want to go in there, but he knew he had no choice... he couldn't just stand out here and do nothing. "...Let's just get this over with..." |
LaRae's ears laid back when she heard what Celestine said. She wouldn't openly admit to it, but she hadn't really listened to a thing that the Elder had said. Everything he'd spoken about couldn't keep her interest so she focused on other things. She felt terrible though, after hearing what he said. She couldn't help it that she didn't know Guardians still exited. That wasn't exactly common knowledge and she doubted any of the other would've known had they not been listening to what the Elder had to say. She sighed softly and let her eyes fall to the ground; She probably looked as if she'd been scolded. She didn't move nor did she speak a word after that. She half felt like anything that came out of her mouth from that point would only make her look silly. Though she might talk if spoken to.
Kyran sighed nearly in relief seeing as no other questions had been brought up about what the last part of the tablet said. He looked over at Hikari when she spoke and nodded softly. "Don't worry, I'll be fine." He stated finally moving away from the tablet and over to the double doors. He, much like Nanashi was ready to get this over with. He gently placed one hand on each of the doors and then started to push on them to get them open. They didn't budge. He didn't remove his hands from the doors, though he thought for a moment. He shut his eyes gently and focused some of his energy into his hands. Within seconds his hands had turned a faint purple and the double doors opened up on their own. They were clearly heavy and you could tell by the way they jerked open on their own. Once opened completely they stopped and the color in his hands faded. He smiled slightly thinking to himself '...That was relatively simple...' He stood quietly for a moment looking into the room now that the doors were open. He couldn't see anything and of course out of curiosity he continued on inside a couple feet. As soon as his feet stopped and planted themselves firmly on the ground the place seemed to light up with purple lights on either side of the room. He was a little surprised by the lights, but relaxed pretty quickly. Now that the room was dimly lit you could see what it really looked like. The entire room was made from the same cold stone as the exterior. The room even reflected the purple lights that hung on the walls making the room a little brighter. As you walked further into the room you'd notice that there was more then one level to this structure. There was a long ramp on the other side of the structure that lead down to another level where there was another large set of double doors. Since the ramps were also made of stone like the rest of the structure anyone who headed down would probably slide all the way down to the other level. Again, the following doors would have to be opened by Kyran. Aamori looked up and watched as Kyran opened up the doors, she moved forward; Inching closer to the doors now that they were opened. She watched again as Kyran stepped inside and the whole room lit up in purple flamed lights. She quirked a brow and without really noticing had followed Kyran inside and was now standing next to him. She was rather curious too, more so about this Nerian creature. She stood there for a moment, her tail swaying impatiently behind her. This room was definitely strange; Why build a whole room out of this cold, slick marble? She sighed softly and looked up at Kyran from the corner of her eye, waiting for him to proceed so she could. Since this was his territory and it was clear he had to open certain areas, she wasn't going to walking ahead of him. |
Hikari watched as the doors opened and Kyran went inside and she quickly followed him into the large room, standing on the opposite side of him from Aamori. Her eyes wandered around the large area in awe and then went to Kyran. She waited on him to continue forward, though she looked more ready to get out of here than go forward. Whichever direction they ended up going, she was all but glued to Kyran's side for now.
Celestine sighed and pushed himself away from the wall, walking past LaRae without even looking at her again as he entered the structure. He gazed around for a moment, squinting into the purple light reflecting off of the walls and floor. He walked a good ways into the room, taking a couple of steps ahead of Kyran and then stopped, looking straight ahead at the next set of doors and the ramp. Why was this structure so tall if everything seemed to lead down? He eyed the ramp for a few moments, hoping it wasn't as slick as it looked like it might be. Nanashi looked at LaRae until his attention was caught by the way that Kyran opened the doors. He watched the others go inside and swallowed again, though his mouth had already gone dry. He finally forced himself to step forward, pausing long enough to place his hands on LaRae's shoulders when he reached her. He looked down at her and shook his head, offering her a weak smile before giving a light push to her shoulders to guide her forward. He lowered his hands once she was moving and sighed, staying fairly close to her. His eye traveled all over the room, taking in every little detail that he could. he always tended to be overly observant when he was in a strange place...especially when he was nervous. |
LaRae stumbled forward at first when Nanashi pushed her lightly. She really hadn't been paying attention to anything, again and it was like she had lead in her boots when he went to push her which caused her stumble. She sighed softly and continued to head inside like everyone else had. She did come to a stop once again though, standing behind Kyran. She barely lifted her eyes to look up. She could see nearly everything just by looking at the floor; It reflected everything including them.
Kyran watched as Celestine moved ahead of him; He was slightly surprised considering everyone else had pretty much stayed beside him, or behind him. He stood for a moment longer before walking over to the edge of the ramp and eyeing it. It certainly did look slick. Of course the first thought to his mind was why in the world did they make such a ramp, it was going to be nearly impossible to scale this on the way out, well unless they used their wings. He felt like such an idiot sometimes; He constantly found himself forgetting he had his wings, though he blamed that on the fact that he rarely used them. He heaved a sigh and looked past the ramp at the double doors; Clearly those would have to be opened the same way as the front doors. Now he just had to get down to them safely. Aamori wasted very little time following Kyran. She was very interested in this Guardian so the sooner they got to it, the better. The last thing she needed was to grow completely impatient and rush into something dangerous on her own. Once Kyran stopped again in front of the ramp she looked down at it; Because of the way the marble reflected everything the stone nearly looked wet. So of course she knew she was going to just slip and slide all the way down that. She smiled slightly, maybe that could be fun? Nero hadn't entered right away; He waited still outside next to the doors. Once everyone else was inside he opened his eyes and looked around, he was checking to make sure they weren't being tailed. A habit of his, though he didn't think anyone would've guessed that was the reason why he usually stayed behind everyone else. Once he felt it was safe he pushed himself off the wall and turned on his heel heading inside after the others. He didn't stop like they had and continued to walk past all the way to the ramp. Again, he didn't stop. Instead he turned his body to the side and proceeded down the ramp at a slight angle so that his boots gripped a little to the marble. He still slid all the way to the bottom but this way he had a little control over how fast he went, not to mention he wasn't going to go smacking into the doors from lack of control. Once he made it to the bottom he stood up straight and looked back up at the others. "Well... What are you all waiting for?" He said loudly back up to them in a surprisingly decent tone. Kyran merely watched in a slight awe at how easily Nero made it down the ramp. He made it look so simple and yet he knew it wasn't. He sighed softly hearing his comment and shrugged slightly before proceeding down the ramp in the same manor as Nero. Though he didn't nearly look as graceful as he slid down the ramp and just as he reached the bottom he stumbled forward a few steps trying to catch himself before he fell. He'd thrown his arms out in front of him waving them a bit, managing to catch himself he stood up straight and just looked at Nero with a straight face after he set his hands back down at his sides. "...That's not as easy as it looked..." He mumbled quietly. |
Hikari walked up to the ramp with Kyran and looked down at it. She looked over when Nero started down the ramp and then watched Kyran go down it as well. She just stood there, looking at the slick surface skeptically. "Hmmm..." She wasn't too enthused about trying to go down that.
Celestine walked up to the ramp after Nero went down, actually beating Kyran to it, though he let him try to get down first. Once Nero and Kyran were at the bottom he stepped onto the slick surface, bending his knees as he slid down rather quickly on his bare feet. He slid down at a partially sideways angle, but unlike the others he didn't have any shoes to grip the floor with, so he was on his own. He road it down easily until he got near the bottom, then he jumped into the air, turning a back flip, though the momentum from the slide kept him going forward the flip pulled him back a little. He landed with his heels just at the base of the ramp and then moved well out of the way of anyone else coming down. Celestine was pretty used to maneuvering around tricky places and he slid down hills quite often, so that wasn't too much different to him...it was just slicker. Nanashi looked at LaRae and gently put his hands on her shoulders again. "Come on..." he whispered, following the others to the ramp. He watched as Nero, Kyran, and Celestine went down and then released LaRae. He timidly placed one foot on the ramp and then the other and started to slide down at and angel as well, trying to use the wall to hold himself steady. The bottom is his shoes were so worn out that they hardly did him any good as far as grip went, but he was able to slow himself bu holding onto the wall. Hikari watched the others and finally took a deep breath and moved over to the wall as well, thinking that Nanashi had a pretty good idea. She knew the bottom of her boots were pretty slick, though they were apparently slicker than she thought. As soon as she stepped onto the ramp her foot slid out from under her. "Yeek!" She grabbed for the wall, but her hands just slid away and she went sliding down the ramp unsteadily. "Ahh!!" Nanashi looked back and cringed when he saw Hikari about to fall on her face and instinctively threw and arm out to try to help her, but she was going a lot faster than he was and the force of impact jerked him away from the wall and caused him to fall over backwards, sliding down the remainder of the ramp on his back with Hikari on top of him. He tried to stop himself with his tail but only managed to turn himself sideways. As soon as they hit level ground at the bottom he flipped, throwing her off of him only to land half on top of her. He just laid there for a moment with his eyes closed and his lips dangerously close to Hikari's, a little stunned from the impact of the fall. When he opened his eyes and realized where he was he was siting up on his knees in an instant, his eyes wide and his face completely red. His bandanna was knocked askew again, but again it was hard to really see much of anything other than the tip of a slit that looked like it could have been a scar. |
Aamori had watched how everyone else went down the ramp. She couldn't help but laugh quietly after seeing Hikari slip and take Nanashi out with her. She only wished that she could make it down as easily as the some of the boys had. She stood for a moment contemplating how she was going to get down but gave up on trying to do this gracefully. She shifted her glance from the ramp over to Celestine thinking 'Sorry but the child in me is going to show' She smiled softly and just as she was about to step down on the ramp she sat quickly and crossed her legs one over to the other. As she slid down she used her to tail to spin herself pretty fast. So now, she was spinning and sliding down the ramp pretty fast. She smiled, and laughed a little the whole way down. As soon as she hit the end of the ramp she continued to slide across the floor and into the wall near the double doors.
LaRae sighed softly having lifted her eyes to see how Kyran and the others went down the ramp. Usually she might have thought the ramp was fun, but she was still sulking slightly from what Celestine had said. She looked away when she saw Hikari slip and knock Nanashi down with her. At least it wasn't her who knocked him down; Was the only thing she thought other then wondering if they were alright. She looked back at the ramp just in time to see Aamori head down. A faint smile crept onto her face when she saw her friend turn the ramp into something fun. Then she realised that she was the only one still at the top and her expression quickly faded to blank. She thought for a moment about how she'd go down but decided to just try it the way Nero and Kyran had. She stepped onto the ramp at an angle with her right foot first and then let her boots grip to the marble a bit to give her some control over how fast she was going. Part way down her right ankle buckled underneath her. She'd started to fall forward and the first thing she went to do was extend her wings to keep her from hitting the stone. Her eyes went wide when she remembered that her wings were still bound and she couldn't do anything more with them then move them slightly. She quickly threw her arms out in front of her to brace for the impact. Her arms hit the stone first, keeping her face from smacking into it and she slid down the rest of the way pretty fast and right into Kyran. She managed to stop after hitting him, but she knocked him back onto the ground next to her. Kyran shook his head softly seeing how Hikari knocked right into Nanashi and they both slid down to the bottom. Then he looked over at Aamori who was laughing the whole way down the ramp; At least she was having fun with it. Then his eyes focused on LaRae's attempt to make it to the bottom. When she started to fall of course he moved closer to the ramp in an attempt to try and help but she continued to slide all the way to the bottom and right into him to boot. Once she hit him he stumbled back a bit then fell backwards onto his back. He laid there for a minute before sitting up and rubbing the back of his head. |
Celestine watched as the rest of them tried to come down the ramp, nearly cringing when Hikari smacked into Nanashi and the guy hit the floor. That sounded like it had to hurt. His attention was then drawn by Aamori sliding down the ramp. He just stood there watching until he realized that she wasn't going to stop near the ramp and he was right under her. Quickly he moved to the side as she skidded into the wall and then just crossed his arms, shaking his head as he looked down at her, though he had a hint of a smile on his face. He looked up again when Kyran fell over...it took him a moment to realize what had happened. "Well...at least we're all here now."
Hikari was still flattened out on the floor. "Ooow." she muttered as she sat up, looking at Nanashi's red face. He must have been pretty embarrassed for his blush to be so apparent on his coppery skin. "I'm so sorry, Nanashi, are you alright?" she asked as she climbed to her feet. She waited for his answer and then glanced back to Kyran and LaRae briefly. She half smiled, looking pretty embarrassed herself, though she was half glad that she wasn't the only one here that couldn't get down without falling. "And are you two alright?" Nanashi nodded quickly, barely looking at her. "Um...y-yeah..." he said quietly as he climbed to his feet and dusted himself off. He went to rub his head and realized that his bandanna was about to fall off. He turned away from the others and untied the knot in the back, moving it back into place without pulling it too far from his forehead, and the tied it again tightly before turning back around. He looked at LaRae and Kyran and walked over to them, holding out his hand to LaRae. |
Aamori didn't get up right away; She'd hit the wall relatively hard. Her back was pressed against the wall and she looked up and over at Celestine. Her eyes lingered there for a moment before looking over at Kyran and LaRae. Then shifted her glance around to the others briefly. She let her eyes drop to the ground in front of her and she smiled softly just before pushing herself up off the floor. She stretched her hands up over her head and laughed lightly. "That was fun!" She said with a smiled still plastered on her face as she stepped closer to Celestine. "You should try that... I'm sure you'd have fun."
LaRae pushed herself up into a seated position and extended her hand over to her ankle and pressed against it for a moment. Having it give out under her like that hurt. She sighed softly and nodded lightly when Hikari asked if they were alright. She couldn't speak for Kyran, but she knew she'd be fine; Her ankle was just sore all over again. She shifted her glance over to Kyran and she looked slightly embarrassed. "...I'm sorry Kyran, I didn't mean to fall... But thanks for trying to help." She barely looked at him even while apologising to him. Her attention shifted when Nanashi walked over; Seeing him just made her feel even more embarrassed. She lowered her gaze but reached up to take his hand anyway and got to her feet. She sighed softly letting go of his hand and proceeded to dust herself off a bit. "...Thanks." Kyran dropped his hand back down and rested it in his lap. He then glanced over at Hikari and smiled slightly. "Yeah, I'm okay. Just had the wind knocked out of me." He laughed softly and looked back to LaRae when she started to apologise. He shook his head lightly. "It's alright, as long as you're not hurt." He didn't waste any time after saying that to get to his feet. Once he was standing again he dusted himself off and turned to look at the large doors. His eyes lingered there for a moment before he looked back over to Hikari. "...Are you alright?" He hadn't asked before when she actually fell, so he thought he'd ask before they continued on inside. |
Celestine looked at Aamori when she said that he should try it and shook his head. "It's fun to slam into walls? Thanks, but I'm bruised enough as it is." he said simply. The herb that he'd taken had worn off a while back and his side had started to hurt again, though nowhere near as badly. It only ached a little when he moved certain ways, but it was bearable now at least.
Nanashi just offered her a weak smile and nodded. "You're welcome..." He said softly before glancing away again. He rubbed the back of his head lightly and glanced at her. He'd noticed her holding her ankle before she got up. "...Is your foot okay?" he asked quietly while Kyran was talking to Hikari. Hikari smiled slightly at Kyran and nodded. "Yes, I'm fine... I pretty much just had the wind knocked out of me as well. Nanashi got the worst of it. She's practically used him as a sled all the way down the ramp, she was only really hurt when he flipped over at the bottom and landed on her, but he was so light it didn't really do much. "Thanks for asking." she glanced at Nanashi again, studying him for a moment. She was watching to see how he carried himself and if he was favoring anything. She finally decided that he seemed fine and looked back to Kyran. "Well... I hope there aren't anymore of those in here." she said with a sigh. |
Aamori had started to make a pouty face seeing that Celestine didn't want to try that but stopped herself and just gave a small sigh. She had a few smart things she could've said in response to him but decided the 'adult' thing to do would be not to start being a smart ass. "Alright." She said simply at first. "Bruised? That's right. How is your side?" She asked in all seriousness. She was trying to act as much like natural self, without actually reverting back. Mostly because he'd stated previously that he'd rather speak to an adult.
LaRae finished dusting herself off and started to stretch her arms out in front of her, then up over her head. She smiled faintly and looked at Nanashi when he asked if her foot was okay. "...I think so..." She paused letting her arms fall back at her sides. "It's just sore from how I fell." She couldn't really say for sure how her foot was; She hadn't tried walking on it. She'd merely stood up and from that point of view she was fine. Though she was almost certain that even when walking it would only hurt a little, just from the way it bent when she fell. Kyran nodded hearing that she was alright; He'd acknowledged the fact that Nanashi took the brunt of the damage but didn't say anything to the guy. He didn't want anything he could possibly say to be taken the wrong way and then have to spend what would seem like forever to try and fix it. He sighed softly and moved over to the large double doors. He stood in front of them for a moment and smiled weakly thinking to himself 'Yeah... I hope that was the only ramp... And I hope this is the last set of doors...'. He wasted very little time placing both of his hands on the doors much like he had with the other set. He stood for a moment as if he wanted to ask if they were all ready but he felt energy being pulled from his hands. He quirked a brow and looked back to his hands, noticing that they were glowing but a much darker purple, almost black. Clearly it wasn't him putting his energy into the door, rather something on the other side sucking it out of him. His eyes widened slightly and he tried to pull his hands from the doors but they didn't budge; It was almost like they'd become glued to the doors. He gave a heavy sigh, trying to relax himself a little rather then show any signs of panic. He uncurled his tail and let it move forward and wrap around his right hand; Then he tried to pull his hand free. He tugged on his hand for a few moments but with no luck, his hand still wouldn't budge. Nero looked up when he noticed Kyran headed for the doors. Thinking to himself 'Finally.'. He turned slightly and watched as the guy placed his hands on the doors. If he hadn't been paying close attention he might not have noticed the different color glowing from his hands. Then of course to resort to using his tail to try and pry his hand from the door. He quirked a brow, obviously somewhat concerned for once. He walked over and stood next to Kyran and looked at the darker purple emanating for his hands. "...You're stuck aren't you?" He asked, though not exactly looking for an answer. "...That tablet said you should beware..." He muttered setting his own hand on the door next to Kyran's. His hand slowly started to glow a shade of black. He forced his energy to be like a knife, cutting through the darker purple and Kyran. He removed his hand just as Kyran was able to remove one hand from the door. Nero then moved to the other side of Kyran and proceeded to the do the same thing, merely disrupting the flow between Kyran and the thing on the other side of the door. Once both of Kyran's hands were free he crossed both his arms over his chest and looked at the door curiously. Wondering if that was Nerian on the other side. |
Celestine shrugged slightly. "...It's alright. A little sore, that's all. I haven't looked at it." he said simply. He could tell that she was trying to act a little more mature around him at least, and he was appreciative for it. He looked past her when Kyran put his hands to the door. He stared for a moment, watching the aura around his hands darken. Had it been that dark before? He didn't think so. He watched Kyran's expression, realizing something was wrong when his eyes widened. He shifted away from the wall them, but Nero beat him over there. He relaxed again once he was free of the door, but never made a sound, just stared at the door silently.
Nanashi smiled weakly when he saw the smile of her face and then nodded. "I hope." he said softly. He glanced at Kyran when he went to put his hands to the door, but he'd already looked away before anything started to happen. He only looked up again when he heard Nero coming forward. He watched as he freed Kyran's hands from the door and then turned his now worried eyes up to Kyran's face. "...What...happened?" he asked timidly at the risk of sounding stupid. Hikari just smiled slightly at Kyran and then watched him go to the door, though her smile faded then. She wasn't looking forward to going deeper into this place. When the aura took over his hands her eyes widened slightly at the darkened color, though she tried not to gt all panicky. Kyran wasn't, so maybe he was doing that on purpose? That idea was lost quickly when he tried to use his tail to free himself. "Kyran?" she asked, her voice coming out a little higher than usual. She started forward then backed off when Nero came over. She sighed in relief when he got Kyran loose and then moved up to his side, looking up at him. "Are you alright?" she asked, again looking overly concerned. |
Aamori had just barely paid any attention to what was going on with Kyran. She'd looked over, watched what happened but it didn't exactly register completely. She sighed lightly. "Sore is a lot better then what it could be." She said quietly glancing over at the door for a moment and then back to Celestine. "...If it gets worse, let someone know." She gave a weak smile before moving over to where Kyran was waiting to hear what had happened.
LaRae again was completely oblivious to what was going on around her; None of what happened with Kyran caught her attention, let alone long enough to hold onto it. Though, once everyone else seemed to show some concern over what had gone on her ears perked up slightly. Now she wished she had been paying attention, something happened and she didn't even see what. She really hated the idea of being out of the loop, like with what the Elder had told them about Guardians. She was going to look so silly again if she wasn't listening in at least from this point. She sighed softly and focused on Kyran, awaiting an answer just as the others were. Kyran pulled his hands close to his body and looked down at them as soon as Nero freed them. His eyes didn't leave his hands right away and he managed a muffled "...Thanks..." In response to Nero's help. He was boggled as to what had happened; Well he knew 'what' happened but he wasn't sure how or why, rather. His ears twitched slightly when he heard the concerns from everyone else. He let his hands drop back down to his sides, and he went to turn to face them. As he did so, he felt tired all of a sudden but tried to push through that. "...Yeah, I'm okay." He said in a mellow tone before giving a soft sigh. "What happened?" He paused glancing over at Nanashi since he had been the one to ask. "I'm not exactly sure..." He then turned his attention over to Hikari briefly. "...I went to open the door and before I could force them open it felt like something else was sucking out energy... It was like a suction or something... At least that's what it felt like.." He said quietly while the thought 'Your energy shall be fuel for the Great Nerian' rang in his head, of course causing him to shake his head softly. Nero continued to stare at the door nearly the entire time that Kyran was talking. Though he kept an ear turned up so that he could hear everything that was being said. Though he already half of what Kyran had said; He'd gathered that something was sucking his energy. How else could his hands have possibly been stuck to the door? He sighed softly lowering his eyes for a moment and then looking over his shoulder at Kyran. "...Can you still open this door?" Nearly as soon as he finished saying that his ears twitched several times to the sound of the doors creaking open. He shook his head laughing quietly to himself. 'So... all you have to do is mention them opening and they do...'. As the doors opened they made very little noise; At first they creaked, but once they were started they slid across the marble almost silently. They moved slowly and pressed against the side walls once opened completely. The room was dark at first, and rather large. Of course made entirely from the same marble stone as the rest of the structure; So when the purple flamed lights lit up inside this room also, they reflected off the floor creating a rather eerie glow to the whole room. Off in the very back of the room was a set of stairs that attached to the back wall. They wrapped from one side of the wall to the other creating a half circle and then at the top of the stairs was a pedestal; Sitting at the very top of that pedestal sat the object they'd be hunting for. It was an orb; It was clear and the size of a baseball. The room was pretty much empty other then the stairs and pedestal for the relic; Though you'd probably wonder why there was such a large room for something so small and when there didn't appear to be a guardian anywhere in sight. |
Celestine looked back to Aamori again when she spoke and nodded slightly. "...I will." he assured her, though he doubted it would get any worse unless something hit it again. He followed her over to Kyran to hear what he said and crossed his arms when he heard the answer. He somehow had a feeling that whatever was going on had something to do with the part of the tablet that Kyran couldn't (or wouldn't as he suspected) read aloud. His ears twitched when the doors opened and he looked back over to them again, narrowing his eyes as he looked into the huge room. 'That's it!?' he thought, rather loudly when he saw the little clear ball on the pedestal after the door opened.
Nanashi nodded slightly when he said that he was alright. He was glad of that at least, but he still looked worried. "...Suction?" h muttered, looking at the door. Now he really didn't want to go in there. He startled slightly when the door opened and looked inside quietly. He eyed the center for just a moment, but his eyes quickly left and wandered around the part of the room that he could see. He didn't see anything, but something still made him uneasy. Hikari sighed in relief when he said that he was alright but she still looked worried. She raised her hand, preparing to touch his shoulder, but then put it down again, remembering what happened the last time she touched him. "...Be careful, Kyran..." she said quietly. She glanced over to Nero when he asked about the door and then startled when she heard them creak open. She looked back at the doors and glanced around the room once the flames appeared. She swallowed and reached over, grabbing onto Kyran's hand. There was a snap as she was shocked, but even after that, she didn't let go, mainly because she knew if she did it would only get her a second time when she went to try again. "I think that's it..." she said quietly. "...Now where is Nerian?" she muttered in an even quieter voice. |
Kyran wasn't too alarmed by the doors opening on their own. He had half expected it considering what had just happened. Not to mention there was no way that he was placing his hands back on that door. If he did, he was afraid that the rest of the energy in him would've been sucked out. He did however waste very little time scanning the room from where he was standing once the room started to light up. It was still rather dim in the huge room, but he could see for the most part. He eyed the orb on top of the pedestal and figured, like most of the others probably had by now; That thing must be the relic. He happened to look down after Hikari had grabbed his hand; Ordinarily he probably wouldn't have cared that she had but as of now she'd get shocked every time she touched him and he was unsure of what could happen should she touch him for a long period of time. "...Are you alright, you got shocked again?" He asked rather quietly. He didn't want to tell her she should let go, especially if she'd been startled enough to grab a hold of him. He turned his attention back to the room for a moment, he of course wanted to go inside; His curiosity would've already shoved him inside had Hikari not been attached to his hand.
Aamori usually didn't startle very easily but the feeling that washed over her when those doors opened up made her grab for her staff involentarily. Within seconds she'd already held it tightly in her hand, and extended to it's full length. She'd previously been interested in seeing this Nerian, but now that she felt what she thought was him; Just his power that flowed out from the room, she was second guessing herself. Though her feet still inched closer to the room. She made her way into the room, ahead of the others. She held her staff relatively close to her; It was in pressed against her back, with her hand down at her side so that the staff was behind her. She could quickly move it if need be, but she wanted to appear as if she wasn't going to attack. At least not right away, unless she had to. She wasn't really sure if Nerian was going to friendly, and guessing by the way he let his power flow everywhere he wasn't going to be nice about anything. She finally stopped walking after she got several feet in, nearly in the middle of the room. She couldn't help but glance around, still not seeing anything. Though she could certainly feel him. "...." She turned and looked back towards the others, frankly speechless. LaRae listened to everything that Kyran had said, though her attention was easily snagged once the doors opened. She didn't jump, just looked at them with her head tilted to the side slightly. Curious to know how doors could open on their own. Of course she'd be the one to go thinking about something like that at a time like this. She watched as Aamori headed inside; A little worried to have seen her friend draw out her weapon so quickly. Of course she knew better then to go inside after her, but she did anyway. She stepped past Nanashi and walked past everyone else and followed right behind Aamori. Moving all the way to her so that she was standing next to her, though she didn't draw a weapon; At least not yet. It'd take her a small amount of time to actually get hers, it wasn't as easy as taking it from a hollister. She sighed softly and looked at Aamori for a moment before glancing around the room too. Though she didn't pick up on Nerain's presence as easily as Aamori had so of course she wasn't as freaked out. "...So... Where is he?" Nero focused on the room once the doors had opened up, seeing the orb at the back of the room almost immediately. He didn't budge from where he was standing though, even when he saw Aamori head in, followed by LaRae. He was going to wait until everyone else had entered the room and then take up the rear as he had been doing since the start of this trip. He did, however, catch the same wave of an uneasy feeling as Aamori had which caused him to reach down into the lower pockets on his pants and remove his spiked brass knuckles. Though he tried to be discrete about it and slip them on behind his back; Then keeping his hands out of plain sight. He didn't want to go alarming anyone any worse then Aamori may have. |
Hikari looked over to Kyran again when she spoked and then looked down at their hands. "...Y-yeah..." she said quietly. She looked ahead biting her lower lip again when Aamori started in with her weapon drawn and then LaRae followed. She finally realized that she was holding Kyran back and released his hand. "S-sorry..." she said quietly as she started to slip her bow off from around her shoulder. She held it tightly in her hand and slowly started forward. She knew how to use a bow just fine, but quite honestly if they had to fight this would definitely be the first time that she ever hard to use it in battle. To say the least...she was nervous, but nonetheless she started forward slowly, trying to be braver than she felt.
Celestine watched as Aamori started into the room with her staff out. He didn't know why she decided to go in first, but even as LaRae was moving forward he reached over his head and behind his back and flipped his swallow over his head, detaching himself form the leather strap that held it to him. He held it vertically beside him for a moment before starting into the room, slipping hast Hikari and further into the room. His ears stayed perked, listening to ever tiny sound and his eyes were sharp as he looked around. He could feel the energy in the room as easily as Aamori could and he didn't like it. Slowly he turned his eyes to the ceiling since he saw nothing anywhere else. Nanashi watched as LaRae moved into the room after Aamori. He watched as Celestine and Hikari started to follow, but he still didn't move. He couldn't make his feet go forward. He always tried to avoid danger he couldn't bring himself to walk right to it. He noticed that nearly everyone had a weapon (even though LaRae was not holding one he knew she could get one if she wanted from the knife she'd made), but he was completely unarmed and had no way of making a weapon. His only weapons were his claws and teeth, and he didn't think that would help much against whatever was in there. He could feel a presence a lot stronger than anything he'd ever felt before. He tried to move again, but his feet still wouldn't go. He glanced down at his hands and realized then that he as shaking all over. This was one of those moments one could easily picture him thinking that he was too young to die. Finally he looked at LaRae again. He told himself again that he couldn't just stand out here while everyone else (or at least while she) was in there in the middle of everything, and finally, he forced himself to move forward, though it took him a moment to get in the door. |
Nero stood outside and watched as the others finally headed inside, of course he waited even for Nanashi who appeared to forcing himself into the room. He looked around for a moment outside of the door before letting his hands back in front of him, adjusting the brass knuckles and then turning to head inside. As soon as he cleared the doors, they slammed shut behind him; The force behind them slamming caused his hair to fly forward for a moment before dropping in his face. Of course he didn't jump, he wasn't even phased by the doors shutting. He gently lifted his hand up and moved his hair from his face sighing lightly. "...Looks like someone doesn't want us leaving any time soon..." He muttered rather quietly as he turned for a moment to look at the doors. Of course he didn't see them opening any time soon, at least not by the means of any of them. Kyran though, may be able to open them; Maybe.
Aamori spun around so fast that she nearly knocked herself down when she heard the doors slam shut. That just seemed so eerie, on top of the fact that Nerian couldn't be seen. She stared at the doors for a moment before turning back around, looking at LaRae for a minute. "...Shouldn't you get your sword... just in case?" She asked quietly; Knowing that it took time for LaRae to get her weapon out. She didn't say another word, and barely moved after that; Though she continued to look around trying to find this Nerian. LaRae looked at Aamori when she mentioned her sword; She glanced around for a moment noticing that nearly everyone had their weapons drawn. She nodded softly and knelt down on the ground. She placed her palm to the marble, her hand started to glow green while she tried to call forth her sword. She waited for a moment before her hand just stopped glowing; Her eyes widened slightly and she looked up at Aamori with a worried look on her face. "...Aamori..." She paused removing her hand from the marble. "...The marble is too thick and there isn't any earth around this room... anywhere... I can't get my sword..." She sighed heavily and finally climbed to her feet. "...With no earth anywhere around this room... I can't even use my magic..." She mumbled starting to worry slightly; She wasn't used to not being able to defend herself. Kyran stood for a moment inside the room, behind some of the others. He was just looking around the room for a moment, curious to know where the guardian was. He'd expected him to be somewhere in the room and yet he wasn't. He'd walked a little closer to Aamori and LaRae, close enough to hear what LaRae had said about there not being any earth around the room. He wasn't all that surprised to hear that. The room was probably surrounded by electric energy which would block out the other energies. At least that was his assumption. He walked ahead of the girls and looked back at LaRae seeing the worried expression on her face. "...Just go back to the doors if you're worried.." He said quietly. He turned his attention back to the orb; The relic. It was so close, but he had a feeling something would happen if he got too close. He continued walking towards it regardless, though he did walk cautiously. He made it near the stairs, leading up to the pedestal that held the relic. He went to step down on the first stair and as he did so he felt something move; He looked up and noticed that a cage had sprung forth from the pedestal and engulfed the relic. "...How.. The.." He stuttered half wondering how that happened. Though it was pretty apparent that getting too close must have triggered a safety mechanism. Just as Kyran inched closer to the stairs the pressure from Nerian would be extremely more dense and noticeable even to those who'd been unable to sense it before. Then when he set his foot down on the stairs and the cage appeared, a dense gray cloud formed over to the stairs. It was on the large side, nearly the same size as the stairs themselves. Within seconds of the cloud fully forming a large bolt of lightning shot down from the cloud and smacked into the stair right in front of Kyran's foot; Which caused Kyran to be shot back off the stairs a few feet. He smacked into the ground hitting his back to the marble; He didn't move right away. Though he managed to prop himself up slightly so that he could see what happened. The bolt of lightning had been so strong that the step that Kyran had stepped down on had broken into pieces. A few moments after the bolt disappeared, half a dozen more shot down leaving a giant dark purple wolf creature in it's place. The cloud above the creature dispersed as soon as he was visible. His fur was unruly; With an occasional static shock bouncing around from one part of his body to the next. His eyes are bright piercing yellow and almost the only thing that can seen of him from a distance. He's got extremely large paws, full with sharp claws. This, was Nerian. Guardian of the Thunder Relic. He stood on top of the stairs with each foot on a different level of the stairs. His claws were so sharp that just his standing there, and the weight of his body made the marble below his claws crack in several places. He growled lightly, his glowing yellow eyes scanning the room; Stopping finally on Kyran. Having seen him, the Thunder dragon; He bore his fangs. As he did so, small amounts of drool dripped down from his fangs and smacked against the marble below him. |
Nanashi hadn't made it too far away from the doors and nearly jumped out of his skin when they slammed behind him. His ruby eyes widened in sheer panic as he spun around to find himself trapped in here. He looked at Nero when he spoke and then his eyes went back to the doors again as if begging them top open, or at least they did until he heard the commotion behind him. At that point he spun around again an then froze, staring at the steps with a wide-eyed expression, his panic quickly giving way to terror.
Celestine glanced back briefly when the doors closed and then glanced over to LaRae when he heard that she couldn't get her sword out. Stupid girl, she should have known that. This entire place was made of marble, did she expect there to be a hole in the ground especially for her? He sighed and shifted positions a little moving closer to Aamori and LaRae. His eyes followed Kyran to the step and as soon as the cage sprang over the relic he tensed and got a better grip on his weapon. The pressure in the room was nearly unbearable, but that wasn't what had his concern at the moment. As soon as Kyran hit the ground his eyes darted from him to the top of the steps where Nerian stood. "...Perfect." he muttered under his breath. Oh well...he'd never expected this to be easy. His only problem was that he had no idea how to approach the thing. Hikari startled when the doors slammed and glanced back briefly, but then her attention went to Kyran as he moved toward the the steps. As soon as the lightning struck the step her breath caught, "Kyran!!" she shouted as she hurried to him. She stopped at his side and knelt beside him just as he propped himself up, then her eyes went to the steps and she froze as Nerian materialized there. She gasped and gripped her bow when the guardian looked down at Kyran with that hungry expression. Immediately she put her hand over her shoulder and reached behind her back, feeling around for a moment. Her eyes widened when she remembered that Ishta hadn't given her any arrows to go with this thing. Oh great! She put her arm down and stood up, backing away slightly, though she still held the bow where she could raise it and fire quickly if need be, even though it appeared she had nothing to fire. |
Nero watched as Nerian finally appeared, a slight smirk appearing on his face. It was about time that things actually got interesting. He happened to look over at Nanashi who wasn't too far away from him; Noticing the guy's expression. He stepped closer to him, gently setting his hand down on his shoulder; Of course making sure that the spikes on his brass knuckles never touched him. "...Just stay back here, out of the way." He said quietly before removing his hand and continuing forward. Given the circumstances, this wasn't a time to hold a grudge so he was putting his differences with the lot of them aside and focusing on the task at hand. He continued to walk past the others and headed straight over to Kyran. Once there he extended his hand down to him offering to help him to his feet. "...So... Do you know how to... defeat him?" He questioned, though never taking his eyes off Nerian.
Kyran didn't shift his glance or his attention even when Hikari rushed over to him. He was half afraid to look away; Not wanting to leave himself open. Though he did have a slightly worried look on his face when Nerian looked at him; That creature was definitely a bit frightening, even to him. His attention was finally snagged when he noticed Hikari starting to back away. He finally started to sit up, he looked back at her; Wanting to tell her not to move but the words just weren't coming out. Just as Nero made his way to his other side he looked over, seeing the extended hand and looked up at Nero slightly surprised to see who it was offering a hand. He looked at Nerian for a moment and then took Nero's hand getting to his feet as quickly as possible. "...T-thanks.." He mumbled finally letting his hand fall back to his side once he was on his feet again. "...N-no.. I d-don't..." He stuttered trying to regain his composure. Aamori looked at LaRae when she heard everything she'd said. She of course shared nearly the same worried expression as her friend. "You can't even use your magic?" She asked in a surprised tone. She shook her head lightly and took a step partly in front of LaRae. "...I didn't think this marble was going to be a problem for you..." She stated shaking her head softly. She'd spared a few times with LaRae and knew some of the extent of her magic when using her sword; So she was really surprised that her friend couldn't even manage to draw her sword. This worried her a bit more; Now they'd have someone else to try and protect. This sucked for lack of better words. She'd half counted on LaRae's magic. It could really have been used in this situation to bind Nerian. She sighed heavily and looked back over her shoulder at LaRae. "...You should probably move back LaRae, just anywhere out of the way." LaRae lowered her head after Aamori told her that she should move back; She didn't want to be useless, again. She sighed heavily, and nodded softly. "...Alright..." She mumbled softly knowing it was better for her to be out of the way. It would of course pose less of a stress on the rest of them if she was out of the way. She looked up and over at Nerian for a moment, noticing that he was still clearly interested in Kyran; Which lead her to believe that he might not notice anything else going on. She took a couple steps back then stopped and looked up again. The Guardian's eyes were still resting on Kyran, which was a good thing for her at least. She sighed softly again and continued to head back towards the large double doors. She didn't stop until she was completely next to the doors, resting her own back against them lightly. Now, thinking this was good enough, she was as far away as she could get now. Nerian didn't move right away; He just stood on the steps watching, studying. His attention wasn't easily taken off of Kyran but he did look at Hikari and Nero when they moved closer to Kyran; Then when Hikari moved away. He wasn't focusing at all on the few a little further back; His main target at the moment was that Thunder dragon full of energy. He growled again lightly finally taking a couple steps down, until his massive body was now on the main floor. Now that he was on the same level as everyone else you could really see how large he was in comparaison. He was practically the size of a bus; Perhaps the saying 'The bigger they are the harder they fall' would come to mind after seeing him. Nerian still stood with his fangs drawn out, looking at Kyran again as the drool still dripped from his mouth. His tail swayed from side to side creating a slight breeze just from the force behind it alone. He started to move again, dragging his claws against the marble as he walked; Creating a loud scratching noise, much like nails to a chalk board. He rather slowly made his way over to Kyran and Nero; Stopping almost right ontop of them. Neither of the two guys moved though, they just stood there; Though Nero lifted his fists ready to attack should Nerian do anything. Nerian glared down at Nero seeing the dragon ready his weapons. He lifted his massive paw and belted Nero with it; He moved so fast that all that could really be seen was the after effect. Nero had been thrown fast, all the way across the room into the far left wall. His body hit the marble so hard that it dented the stone; His body clung to the broken pieces of marble for a moment before dropping to the ground with a thud. It was all too clear at this point that Nerian and Kyran at least had their speed in common, and regardless of Nerian's size he was still able to move fast. Nerian's eyes shifted for a moment to look at the dark dragon that he'd flung across the room. Seeing that the dragon hadn't moved right away he shifted his eyes back to Kyran and snarled. He didn't attack Kyran like he did Nero, only because Kyran didn't draw a weapon against him. But he did however take his the same paw that he smacked Nero with and force it down on Kyran; Causing him to be knocked to the ground and now be stuck beneath the weight of Nerian's clawed paw. It didn't take very long for Nerian's paw to start glowing that deep dark purple from before, though within a few more seconds the energy between the two's bodies caused a decent sized explosion that caused the immediate area to be surrounded in a cloud of smoke. The explosion did cause Nerian to take several steps back until he was out of the cloud of smoke. He was shaking his head and trying to clear the smoke from his nose. Kyran however was still laying where Nerian had nearly crushed him. The explosion itself happened between Kyran's chest and the creature's paw. The explosion had nearly destroyed both Kyran's shirt and his jacket, his bare chest was now exposed and his clothing was even more tattered now. He was still able to move luckily and he coughed several times as he slowly lifted his hand up and patted his tattered jacket several times to make a small flame go out. |
Nanashi's attention was locked on the beast at the top of the steps. As soon as Nero's hand touched his shoulder he nearly jumped out of his skin and then looked over at him. Quite honestly it was hard to tell if he was ready to cry or faint. He nodded weakly when he told him to stay back out of the way. That wouldn't be a problem. He didn't think he could move if he had to; he was shaking too badly. He shifted back against the wall, edging ever so slightly toward the door. He kept his eyes on Nerian then, unable to look away. He didn't even notice when LaRae came back to stand near the door even though she was practically right beside him. He winced when Nerian smacked Nero into the wall and his eyes darted over to him. He stared at the hole in the wall for a moment before his eyes went down to Nero again and his breath caught when he realized that Nero wasn't moving. In his mind, he thought a hit like that could kill anything, though he knew dragons were stronger than most creatures. At the moment Nero and the others didn't look any stronger than him and he was pretty sure that if that'd been him... he'd be either dead or close to it. His attention only pulled away from Kyran when he heard the explosion, though he could hardly see what had happened through the smoke.
Hikari gasped when Nero slammed into the wall and she looked over at him, wanting to run over and see if he was alright but she made herself stay there. Her attention was quickly drawn again when Nerian knocked Kyran down. "Kyran!" she started to move forward but about the time she lifted her foot, there was a sudden explosion. She looked at the cloud of smoke and watched as Nerian backed up. Again...she wanted to make sure Kyran was alright, but she saw him move as the smoke cleared and even still, she couldn't do much to help them right now anyway....not with Nerian still there ready to attack. While he was preoccupied with trying to clear his nose, she raised her bow again and spread her legs apart to steady herself as she pulled back on the string as if taking aim, though there was nothing on the string. A moment later the bow was engulfed by a white aura and a blazing white light spread from the hand that held the string back up to the hand that held the bow, quickly taking the shape of an arrow. She released it and the light shot forward straight at Nerian's chest, the tip looking almost like a shooting star with the tail trailing behind it as it flew with amazing speed. She didn't know how badly her arrows could hurt him, but she didn't particularly care. She was only trying to divert his attention away from Kyran for a while. She already knew that Nerian was fast...but so was she when she put her mind to it. Celestine cringed slightly when Nero was batted into the wall, and glanced over for just a moment and then backed up a little after the explosion, shaking his head. The sound alone hurt his ears, which were fairly more sensitive to sound than most. He looked ahead again and watched as Hikari fired the arrow at Nerian's chest. He hadn't expected anything out of her really after seeing her searching her back for a quiver of arrows that she'd never had to begin with. She seemed like all she was really good for was healing. Right now, he was glad that he was wrong. He still stood beside Aamori, his swallow held at an angle in front of him in both hands, ready to attack at any given moment, but he had no idea how to go about getting close enough to the thing without getting fried. |
LaRae barely moved once she was by the door. She'd turned her head only long enough to look at Nero when he had hit the wall, and then to Kyran when she heard the explosion. She started to take a step back stopped herself; She'd wanted to go help either of them, just to make sure they were alright but she remembered Kyran telling her to go back to the doors. So as of right now she was doing what she was told, and trying to keep out of everything. She sighed heavily and lowered her head as she took that same step backwards against the door again. Even with all the stuff going on she wasn't really scared, or frightened. If anything she was upset with the fact that she couldn't do anything to help. She didn't scare very easily, mostly because the only thing that really scared her was the thought of going back home to people who were supposed to accept her; Who would end up killing her. She slowly lifted her eyes up, glancing over at Nanashi; Seeing his expression and the shaking. She gently reached her hand over and grabbed his.
Aamori was quite surprised herself to see that Hikari could do more then heal people. A little more impressed that she could create arrows; Though she figured you could teach yourself how to do almost anything if you tried hard enough. She stood quietly for a moment, before realising that now would be a good time to go over and see if Nero was alright, considering he still hadn't moved. She wasted very little time rushing over to Nero; Completely ignoring everything else that was going on while she ran over to him. She didn't think Nerian would even notice her in time to do anything. Once she reached him she knelt down setting her staff on the ground next to her. She reached over and rolled him onto his back gently and then resting her fingers to his neck; She was relieved to feel a pulse and sighed lightly before moving her hand away from his neck. "Nero... Are you alright?" She asked taking her hand and gently tapping the side of his face. Nero didn't move right away even when Aamori managed to roll him over onto his back. His breathing was slowed slightly, and he still had a pulse. It took a moment for him to come to; But he finally started to open his eyes noticing the tapping on the side of his face. He laid on the ground for a few minutes before quickly sitting up and coughing hard; As he did so, he coughed up blood. Clearly he must have damaged something internally if he'd started to cough blood. Once the coughing stopped he hunched his back as he looked over at Aamori seeing that she'd come to check on him. He nodded softly. "...Yes... I'll be alright." He muttered shifting his glance back over to what was going on with Nerian. He really wanted to get up and beat the hell out of that guardian but he'd taken a bit more damage then he thought from just that one hit. He coughed again and then balled up his fist angrily. Kyran dropped his hand down on his chest once he got the flame to go out on his jacket. He wanted to just lay there and wait for the pain to go away from being nearly crushed, then have an explosion so close to him but after reading that part of the tablet that he neglected to tell everyone else he knew just laying there was out of the question. It took him a few moments but he managed to force himself up into a seated position just in time to see the light arrow that Hikari created go whizzing towards Nerian. He watched as Nerian hadn't noticed the arrow; He was too busy brushing his paw to his nose clearing the smoke from it. The arrow smacked right into Nerian's chest. He cringed slightly and pressed his hand against his chest lightly; He hadn't noticed it but he had a burn mark against his chest from the explosion. He sighed heavily and then stumbled getting to his feet. It took a lot out of him just to get to this point; He was extremely tired considering Nerian had managed to get a little more energy out of him just before the explosion. He turned and looked for Nero wanting to make sure he was alright first; He noticed Aamori with him and felt better. He then turned back towards Hikari; Knowing that Nerian wasn't going to be too happy about that arrow he moved over towards her. If anything now he was more worried about her safety then he was before. Nerian wasn't even paying attention when Hikari shot her arrow towards him; He was too busy trying to get the smoke out of his nose. Once it hit his chest he stepped back again a few steps and tried to look down at it all while growling heavily. The arrow hadn't gone too deep, only enough that the feeling of it piercing him drove him up the wall. He was completely annoyed by the feeling and lifted his paws frantically trying to knock the arrow out of him with no luck what so ever. Pretty soon though he did give up trying to get the damn thing out of him and glared over at Hikari; Easily picking out the person who hit him because she was the only one with a bow, not to mention she was clearly the only one able to use light magic. He snarled, slamming his front paws down on the ground in front of him; Bracing himself. His tail shot up behind him and he started to glow dark purple again. The bolts of electricity bouncing around on his back started to get larger and bit a more frantic until he finally shot one off his back and directly for Hikari. The bolt was large and moved fast; Nerian was hell bent on getting back at her for the arrow. Kyran looked back over at Nerian just in time to see the fit he was throwing about being hit with an arrow. Once he noticed the bolt of electricity being fired from Nerian's back directly for Hikari his eye's widened. He in that instant dashed in front of her with his back to Nerian to take the brunt of the damage that bolt would've done. It smacked right into his back and shocked him terribly; Though it would've done a lot more damage to Hikari since she wasn't a thunder dragon. He cringed and bit down on his lip trying to fight through the pain and then dropped down to one knee just as the shock went away. It took him a moment but he managed to look up at Hikari wanting to make sure that she was alright; Hoping that most of the electricity had missed her. |
