Kyran cleaned himself up but didn't get out from under the water right away. He just stood there for a few minutes longer, stuck on what Hikari had said. Of course he'd caught onto what she meant when she said what she had, though part of him couldn't help thinking she might have just said that to make him feel better. He couldn't openly admit it himself but he did have feelings for Hikari. She was so different from the girls he'd dated in his clan. Aside from her apparent beauty she was also extremely well educated, a talented healer, compassionate, friendly, and very open minded. Perhaps the thing he liked most was the fact that he could have a conversation with her and hear an unbiased reply. Though, it was also nice to find a girl who didn't seem to care too much about his families past. He gave a heavy sigh and reached down to turn off the water. He knew better though, she was pretty much too good to be true and just out of his reach. He stepped out of the shower and took hold of a towel, drying himself off and then wrapping it around his waist snugly once he realised that he hadn't brought any clothes back in with him. he shook his head softly as he knelt down and picked up his jeans and then tossed them into the hamper across the room. He'd just have to walk down the hall a little and into his room. No big deal; Wasn't like anyone was really up and moving too much anyway. He shrugged slightly and proceeded to the door; Unlocking it and stepping out into the hall where he continued straight to his bedroom without stopping. Once he made it to his room he pushed the door shut a little behind him; not noticing that it was still open a small crack. He sighed again lightly and stood in front of his closet, reaching out and pulling the double doors open.
LaRae smiled softly and gave a slight nod when he asked if she wanted to see if the stuff would come off. She had regained quite a bit of movement to her wings just during the time she'd been asleep and was able to bring her wings forward slightly so that the places where the putty was were easier to get to. "I think they're better, well, I can move them more to say the least." She said quietly not even noticing that Kyran had passed by the door on his way to his room. "If this stuff works the way Taro lead me to believe then I really want to see if it will come off..." |
Hikari looked up and finally realized that the sun was nearly gone. She gasped quietly and then turned around. She could barely even see the house anymore. She had no idea how fast she'd been walking but apparently she was in a hurry. She turned back and started to hurry back toward the house before it got too dark for her to tell where she was going. She made even better time getting back to the house than she had getting away from it. Once she got there she opened the door and slipped inside, glancing around as she entered. She sighed softly when she didn't see Kyran. Maybe that was just as well for now. After a moment she just walked over to sit down on the couch again.
Nanashi returned the smile when he saw that she could move her wings again. "Alright." he said softly as he reached out to touch her wings. He eyed the green glup for a few moments and then took a hold of it and gently pulled. He made a face when she stuff came off in his and. "...Well...I guess you're done..." he said as he looked for somewhere to discard the green stuff in his palm. After a moment he just laid it on his pants leg as he reached over to take off the rest and then gathered it all up at once. He stood up and looked around for a moment before finding the garbage and going over to drop all of the stuff in the wastebasket. Once that was taken care of he looked back to LaRae and smiled. "Well?" ((*And then out of nowhere a crazed brunette bursts into Kyran's room and starts snapping 500 pictures of his sexy wet abs.* Muhahahaha!!! YES!! *disappears*)) |
Kyran stared into his closet for a little while trying to decide on something to wear, something that might not be such a problem for him in the days to come since it was all too clear now that he'd have to start carrying his weapon on him. He sighed softly finally settling on something that shouldn't be too much of a hassle. He'd plucked the items from the closet and tossed them onto the bed behind him; Once he was finished he turned around, shutting the closet doors with his tail and then smiled softly as Nobu peeked his head up through the clothes that he'd had thrown on him. Kyran reached out and moved the clothes, then while petting Nobu motioned for him to get down from the bed. He didn't waste a whole lot of time getting dressed again, though he hadn't once thought about how late it was getting while putting his clothes back on. He finished and walked over to his mirror to take a look for a moment. He was now wearing a pair of black slacks, that appeared to be decorated with a couple silver buckles down the sides; Little did any one else know that those buckles, had straps that would later be attached to hold his weapon. Again he didn't wear anything too elaborate, a simple dark purple t-shirt that hugged to his body tightly; Rather then his usually baggy attire. On top of that he wore a black vest that hugged him nearly as tight as the shirt below it. The vest had a pocket on either side of it, along with a buckle on the sides, that lined up with his pants. At first glance he might have been mistaken for being dressed up just because of how nice he looked. When he wanted, he could toss out that bum look and really dress sharp. Though he rarely did just because of how long it could take him to get ready as compared to before. He left his shoes off, and didn't bother with the gloves he'd pulled out either; He merely set them down on top of his boots. He reached over for the towel he'd wrapped himself in earlier and tossed it over his head trying to dry his hair. He'd started to walk out of his room in the process, knowing full well how to get around the house without even looking. He'd started to head down stairs, his head still covered by the towel as he roughed up his hair.
LaRae watched as he reached for the green stuff on her wings, she was prepared to have to bite down on her lip should there be any pain. She was surprised though once he pulled the first piece off, there was nothing. It felt like tape being pulled from her skin. She smiled softly, glad that it wasn't hurting. Once he had completely removed all of the green stuff and had moved to throw it away she couldn't resist opening her wings; Luckily the room was just big enough that her wings could clear. She rather excitedly flapped them shut after a moment and in the process of shutting them, made herself topple backwards off the bed. She'd fallen and landed on her back with her legs partly up, rested against the edge of the bed. She hadn't hurt herself and that could probably be easily noticed because she was laughing softly, quite happy to have use of her wings back. |
Hikari was still sitting on the couch, though she had shed her boots again and had them sitting in the floor by the ouch. Now she was just curled up on one cushion with her feet drawn up to her chest and her side nuzzled into the back of the couch as her back rested against the arm rest. Her eyes were closed until she heard movement on the stairs. She opened her eyes slowly and looked up, blinking when she saw Kyran walking down the stairs. She couldn't help but smile slightly when she saw the way he was dressed. He apparently could look even better when he wanted to. "Have a nice shower?" she asked with a soft laugh, slightly amused by watching him try to dry his hair.
Nanashi smiled and laughed softly when he saw her laying on the floor. "Haha I guess that means you are better." he mused as he walked over to her and held out his hands to help her back up. "I'm glad." he smiled a little more at her and then released her hands once she was up again. "I can stop getting onto you for picking at your bandages." he commented playfully. |
Kyran continued down the stairs, not once watching where he was going. All the while still drying his hair to the best of his ability. Once he had reached the bottom he pulled the towel down from his head and dropped his hands down to his sides; letting the towel rest loosely in his hand. He smiled softly seeing that Hikari had come back and then gave a gentle nod. "It was quite relaxing." He said simply before looking towards the window and noticing how dark it was already. He hadn't been paying attention to time, since he'd slept most of the day. He sighed softly, shaking his head. "It looks like I got dressed for nothing..." He said quietly before walking off towards the the kitchen, stopping at a small closet just out of sight and opening the sliding door to reveal a laundry basket where he proceeded to drop his towel, then shut the door once again. He turned and then headed back into the living room looking over at Hikari for a moment. "...I need to go down into the basement for something. Are you going to be alright up here?" He asked as he leaned against the corner of the wall, just between the living room and the short hallway to the kitchen.
LaRae smiled at Nanashi once he'd helped her back up. She extended one of her wings and brought it around in front of her. She couldn't help but stroke it gently, as if apologising for hurting it in the first place. She smiled again lightly. "That may be true, but now you don't have a reason for always being around me." She chuckled slightly before letting her eyes wander back to her wing. |
Hikari watched Kyran go into the closet and then looked at him funny when he came back and asked if she would be alright up here. She tilted her head to the side cutely and then looked around the room. "Well...I am a little worried about all the the dust bunnies hiding under your sofa..." she said in a tiny, timid sounding voice. She smiled after a moment and laughed. "Of course I will be." she told him, "I believe I can survive here as well with you downstairs as up." She shook her head and then folded her arms on top of her knees. "...May I ask what is in the basement?"
Nanashi smiled slightly and shook his head, though his smile faded slightly after her comment. "Well, I suppose now you will have a little peace." he said softly. He glanced over to the window and blinked when he realized how late it was. "Oh...it's dark already." he commented, smiling slightly. "You're up and well just in time to go back to bed." |
Kyran shook his head lightly, laughing a little at her comment. How he'd wished he hadn't asked her that. He looked at her and smiled softly. "I was just making sure, those dust bunnies have been waiting years for a pretty girl to be left alone with them." He joked as he started to head for the kitchen, then remembered that she asked what was down there. He took a few steps back until he could be seen again. "Oh, just something I'm going to be needing. That's all." He said with a slight nod before continuing back towards the kitchen. As soon as he reached the kitchen he turned to his right and opened the basement door, which made a loud creaking noise as he pried it open.
Nobu's ears perked up as soon as the creaking could be heard and he suddenly leaped out of Kyran's bed and fled down the stairs and towards the kitchen coming to an abrupt stop right into Kyran's legs. Kyran knew Nobu was going to be coming and had braced himself for the creature's somewhat clumsy nature. He reached down and patted the top of Nobu's head softly. "Don't worry, I won't be down here too long." He said softly before continuing down into the rather dark and damp basement. As soon as he reached the bottom he set his hand out in front of him and ignited a small ball of electricity so that he could see better. There was a light for the basement, sadly it was above the stairs and couldn't provide light any further then the stairs. He took a few steps before having to look down at the ground and watch where he was going. He quickly noticed that Minako must have been letting Nobu have free reign of the basement in his absence. He sighed lightly and continued back towards the further most corner of the basement where he finally stopped right before a decent sized chest. The chest was covered in dust; He leaned down to blow on the chest, releasing a decent amount of the dust back into the air. Though now it showed just how detailed the chest really was, covered in intricate ancient designs and markings. He set his hand down on the chest gently and let his finger tips run over the large heavy duty lock on the front. He gave another soft sigh. "...Didn't think I'd ever have to open this thing again..." He said quietly, nearly in a mutter. LaRae continued to stroke her wing absently. She shifted slightly to hide her face behind it after hearing what he said. "...Yeah... peace.." She uttered quietly in a mellow tone. Her eyes barely moved even when he mentioned that it was dark out already. She'd started to look over at the window but caught herself and brought her eyes back behind her wing. Her comment before hadn't received quite the response that she was going for; Which dampened her mood slightly. She sighed softly. "...Unfortunately, I'm not exactly tired..." She stated again in the same tone as before. |
Hikari laughed softly at his comment about the dust bunnies. "Oh my. " she muttered with a soft laugh. She shook her head and then looked back to him again when he answered her question. "...I see." she said softly, not pestering him further before he went down. She blinked when she saw Nobu come tearing down the stairs and smiled at the clumsy beast before shaking her head again and resting it over against the back of the couch again. She had a feeling she had a good general idea of what he was going down for. After yesterday she was pretty sure it would be a good idea for all of them to arm themselves.
Nanashi looked back over to LaRae again and tilted his head slightly when he saw her hiding behind her wing. He blinked and moved back over to sit beside her again, eying her silently for a moment. "...What's wrong?" he asked softly, apparently unaware that he hadn't given her a proper response to something. He placed his hand gently on her shoulder and continued to look at her, trying to catch her eye...if he could get her wing out of the way. After a moment he put his hand on top of her wing and pushed down on it very lightly. "...What did I do?" |
Kyran wasted very little time just staring at the chest. He moved his hand with the ball of electricity closer to the chest. At first glance the lock clearly took a key; But it had been built to deceive the eye like that. It was special, in it required a certain amount of electric energy to be thrust into the lock at once. Otherwise the lock wouldn't budge. Not many chests had ever been made like this one, but considering what he kept inside it was better to be safe then sorry. He took a moment to adjust the level of energy he was using; Increasing it slightly to the point that the ball was now making popping noises in his hand. He moved his hand a bit closer just before thrusting his palm into the lock; As the electricity hit the lock, it opened up and dropped to the ground with a loud clank. He gave a soft sigh and moved his hand away from the chest for a moment before proceeding to lift the top of the chest up. Again, another safety mechanism was built in. The only thing that could be seen inside were these dark colored handles about the length of someone's palm, they stuck out from another piece that was completely wrapped in a cotton cloth. He smiled very lightly just from the sight of the handles. It had been many years since his eyes had seen these. He gently took his other hand and set it down just above the handles; It laid flat against something that couldn't be seen with the naked eye. Again he had to use his energy to break through again barrier. Though this one was nothing like the one before; All he had to do was emit a low volt and then his hand was free to enter the chest. Once the barrier was gone he dipped both of his hands into the chest, wrapping one hand around each of the two handles and lifting them from the chest. Once he had them tightly in his hands he leaned over and used the wrapped end to force the chest shut, causing a loud thud as the chest slammed shut. He sighed lightly and started to head back to the stairs to get back to the kitchen. He was greeted by Nobu who hadn't moved an inch. The creature knew what was down there, he was yet another level of security to protect the weapons that Kyran had hidden away. "It's alright Nobu, I've got them." He said quietly as he pushed his way past his friend and then shut the basement door behind him. He then continued back into the living room. He still held onto the handles. At first glance even with the ends of the weapons wrapped they looked like tonfa's. From where the handle ended at the end of his palm, the wrapped area shot back just past his elbow. He glanced over at Hikari once he was back into the room and then walked over to the same chair that his Uncle had been sitting in before. He then set one of the weapons down on the coffee table and then rested the other in his lap as he started to unwrap it slowly.
LaRae continued to avoid eye contact with him even when he'd come over and sat next to her again. Though she did find it harder to keep her eyes from him when he touched her shoulder. Then it was inevitable, as soon as he pushed her wing away her eyes shifted to look at him. She sighed softly, remembering as soon as he asked what he did, that she'd promised to try and be more clear about things. She hesitated for a moment. "...You didn't do anything Nanashi, I just ...don't want you to leave me alone just because you don't have to keep an eye on my bandages any longer..." She said quietly. "...That's all..." |
Hikari stayed put obediently while he was downstairs, though after a bit her curiosity was starting to eat at her. She forced herself to remain in her seat. She raised her eyes to Kyran again when he finally reentered the living room and sat up straight again, putting her feet on the floor as she looked over to him, watching him take a seat and start to unwrap his weapon. She tilted her head slightly, a bit intrigued by the strange weapons that he had. She'd never seen anything quite like that before. In her territory it was mostly bows or the good old fashioned sword that was used. "...What do you call those?"
Nanashi blinked when she finally told him what the problem was. "...Oh." he said quietly, "...I thought you wanted me to go do something besides hang allover you for a while." He said honestly. He really wasn't that good at picking out seriousness from sarcasm, obviously. "...Don't worry...I wasn't going to leave until you asked me to." he assured her, offering her a weak smile. He was glad to know that she didn't really want rid of him for a while at least. He finally pulled his hand back to rest in his lap again and then glanced back toward the window, stifling a yawn. She may not be sleepy now, but he was getting that way. He hadn't slept at all while she rested and waited for her wings to recover, plus he's been up since nearly daybreak. "I think I am right where I want to be, anyway..." he said softly. |
Kyran continued to unwrap the cotton cloth from the end of weapon, being more careful once he started to get closer to the blade hidden below all the cloth. Once he had finished unwrapping it you could now see the handle held tightly to an extremely sharp blade that seemed to glisten in the dimly lit room. The blade itself was uniquely detailed with ancient inscriptions running from the topmost center of the blade all the way to the bottom. He moved the cloth from his lap and dropped it onto the floor beside him as he started to stand up with the weapon in hand. He held tightly to the handle and extended his arm completely while checking to make sure the blade still didn't hit him. He worried a little since it'd been so long; He thought he might have grown a little and the blade may have been able to hit his arm. Thankfully though he was happy to see that the end of the blade still went past the end of this elbow and there wasn't going to be anything to worry about. He smiled lightly and then went to sit back down while looking over at Hikari. "...Originally I believe they were called Tonfa blades, but my Father often referred to them as Elbow blades." He said simply as he reached for the other blade to begin unwrapping it; Then left the unwrapped one in it's place. He set the wrapped one in his lap and began to unwrap it like he had the other, making sure he was careful about how he did it. "The blades prefer to be called Ajara and Mati." He added simply. He finally got the other one unwrapped and looked it over as he set the cloth aside again. The blades weren't identical, at least not when you got close enough to them. They clearly said two different things, though if you couldn't read the Thunder clan's ancient script you'd never know what the blades said. One of them said 'Ajara' and the other 'Mati' Though, on both blades the words below the names were not legible. At least not by Kyran. It appeared as if the words below the names were written in either an older form of thunder script or another language all together. He took Ajara the blade he'd just unwrapped and set it next to Mati so that the blades were touching one another and the handles were pointed outward. He smiled softly at the sight of them and then glanced up to Hikari. "...So what do you think?"
LaRae finally let her eyes wander off for a moment after she had finished speaking. They came back to focus on Nanashi briefly as he spoke once he was finished they were gone again. She gave a very light sigh, relieved some to hear he wasn't going to leave until she asked him to. She smiled slightly thinking to herself 'Well I hope I'm not annoying because you might be stuck with me for awhile...'. She glanced back over at him noticing he'd moved his hand and then noticed he looked a bit tired. She couldn't help but smile softly at his last comment, she thought it might be directed at her but couldn't resist making a comment. "You mean somewhere with a bed?" She asked as she held back a chuckle. She sat for a moment and then reached over wrapping her arms around him to hug him, nuzzling her head against him softly before mumbling "...I'm glad." |
Hikari nodded slightly when he told her what the blades were supposed to be called and what his father called them. "I see..." she said as she leaned forward a little. She raised an eyebrow when he gave her each blade's name. "The blades prefer?" she asked skeptically. That sounded a little odd, but she guessed she could go with that. Maybe that was what the inscriptions said. After a moment she got up and went to kneel in the floor by the table, sitting next to Kyran's feet. "...I think they are interesting." she admitted, "I have never seen weapons like these before." She stared at them for a moment and then looked back to Kyran. "...Can I touch them or will they bite me?" she asked with a slight smile, not really wanting to go just grabbing a hold of anything that belonged to Kyran. After that little orb incident she was a little wary of touching anything with markings like those on it. They looked normal enough, but there was no telling what those markings could mean, and she didn't want to find out the hard way.
Nanashi glanced over to her with a half smile. "Well...that, too." he admitted before glancing away. He stiffened slightly when she wrapped her arms around him and then looked down at her, relaxing again fairly quickly. He still wasn't really used to all the affection that he kept getting lately so he couldn't really help tensing up a little when someone grabbed him. After a moment he raised his arms and wrapped them around her loosely. "...I'm glad you're glad." he said with a slight smile. |
Kyran watched as she moved over and sat down next to him on the floor. At first he was a little surprised that she'd never seen weapons like this before, but after he thought about it for a moment he wasn't surprised any longer. He hadn't seem many of them either, and the one set he had was one of the only original ones still left in all of Radha. The man who first created them had only made about seven sets all with different names and only certain blades were compatible with one another. Several years after the man passed away the blades became more desirable because they were no longer able to be made the same way. That's when duplicates started to appear, that for a lack of better words just sucked. They broke easily and flat out didn't work the same way. Quite a few different people started to want these blades and would kill and steal for them, which was why Kyran kept them locked up so tightly. If anyone knew he had them, they'd be dead before they could get towards the chest they were kept in; Nobu spared no expense when it came to protecting them. He glanced over at the blades for a moment and then nodded. "Of course you can touch them, it isn't like they're going to explode or anything when you touch them." He paused. "I warn you though, Mati is rather heavy when compared to Ajara." He sat for a moment before it dawned on him that she probably couldn't tell which was which. He shook his head softly. "Oh, if you look at the tips of the handles, Mati has a script style 'M' on it and Ajara has an 'A'." He leaned back in the chair slightly to relax a little and keep an eye on Nobu who was sitting in the kitchen; Staring around the corner at what was going on with the blades. He turned his attention back to Hikari. He was interested to see her response to how heavy Mati was. Mati easily weighed at least forty pounds by itself whereas Ajara felt lite as a feather, five pounds tops.
LaRae sat quietly for a few minutes with a soft smile plastered on her face. She started to remove her arms from around him slowly, then sitting back up straight again breaking his arms away from her in the process. She glanced over at him for a moment and then to the window, noticing it was getting late. She hadn't really noticed how fast it had gotten dark outside so she was a little surprised when she actually looked over to the window and the only thing really visible were the stars. She had remembered Nanashi saying it was dark already but it completely hadn't registered. She looked back to him and gave a soft smile. "If you're tired you should go to sleep." |
Hikari smiled slightly. "Well, you know, after the last time I just up and picked something up that I wasn't sure about, I'd rather be safe than sorry." She looked back to the blades again and smiled slightly, finally going to pick them up. She picked up Mati first and blinked, a little surprised by how heavy it was, though her arm didn't seem too weighed down by it. She had fairly good arm strength...if you were going to use a bow with any real effectiveness you about had to in order to pull the string back. "Wow this one is kind of heavy." she agreed before picking up Ajara. She held the blades the way that Kyran had held them with the blades going back toward the elbows. "...They seem very off balanced...." she commented as she held both arms out in front of her. "...So you use them like this?" She bend the arm furthest from Kyran, the one holding Mati, in front of her chest, looking at the way the blade followed her arm. "Interesting." She supposed that you could turn them around so that the blade was facing out as well, but she didn't think she really had room to try that at the moment.
Nanashi held LaRae as long as she stayed there and let his arms drop when she pulled away. "...I can stay up a bit longer if you want... Since you aren't tired." He told her. He didn't really mind staying up a little while longer. He didn't think it had been dark all that long, but he was still getting pretty sleeping nonetheless. |
Kyran smiled softly seeing that she didn't seem to have any real trouble lifting and holding onto Mati. He nodded slightly when she mentioned that they were very off balanced. "They're supposed to be that way." He said simply before continuing on a little. "Ajara isn't nearly as heavy as Mati because it's meant to be held in the weaker of your two hands, whereas you'd hold Mati in your stronger hand. It balances with your arms abilities so that no matter what you can still have swift movement." He paused. "If they both weighed the same as say, Mati then it would be nearly impossible move both arms at the same pace. Then if they were both the same weight as Ajara, then again the same thing; You'd be moving one arm a lot faster then other." He sighed softly and watched as she had held the blades out in front of her. Again he nodded slightly. "Yes, just like that." He watched as she looked at Mati. "The blade is meant to follow your arm, extending just past your elbow slightly. If they're turned around the other way with the blade sticking out then you're going to be completely off balanced when you go to attack someone or something. You wouldn't be able to properly use Mati, it'd fall from your hand before you could make contact. Not to mention they don't like to held that way." He said leaning back in his chair again to eye Nobu who was not getting antsy and having trouble sitting still. His eyes went back to Hikari for a moment. "Believe it or not, they kind of have a mind of their own. They're also completely useless unless together. Mati always wants to be used with Ajara and vice versa." He paused for a moment thinking she might not understand and thought to explain a little. "Their creator made about seven sets of these blades, each with a different name and different properties. Each blade has a matching counter part. So If Mati isn't with Ajara then the blade just doesn't work properly. These blades, all seven sets of them are special; Far beyond their own special properties." He said glancing back to check on Nobu periodically. "Both Mati and Ajara are the nicknamed the Raiden couple. When used together they can feed off my own energy to create a thin blade of lightning that covers their own steel blade, and extends a little further then the blade itself. This feat can only be produced in the hands of a Thunder dragon and the two blades have to be together." He paused and thought again. "I've never seen all the blades, but now that I'm thinking about it there is probably one set to each type of dragon."
LaRae shook her head lightly when he said that he didn't mind staying up a little longer. "No Nanashi, if you're tired then you should go to sleep." She paused and moved to the edge of the bed and getting back onto her feet before turning around to look at him. "You don't have to stay awake just because I am. Besides, your sleep suffered a lot while my wings were bound; Take advantage of the sleep you could get now while there is a bed to sleep in." She smiled softly and started to walk over towards the door. "...I'll go see if anyone else is awake and bother them for awhile. I'll be back when I'm tired, alright?" |
Hikari looked back to Kyran and listened as he explained to her about the blades. " I see..." she said, looking back to them again. She laid Mati back on the table and continued to examine Ajara for a few moments as Kyran mentioned there probably being one set for every clan. "...I suppose so... seven sets, seven clans...it would make sense." she agreed. She glanced up and looked at Nobu for a moment before gently laying Ajara back on the table next to Mati the way that Kyran had them laid down before. "I don't think Nobu likes me messing with them." she commented after seeing the canine's behavior.
Nanashi smiled weakly to LaRae and finally nodded. "Alright..." he said quietly. He finally drew his legs up onto the bed and laid down on his side. He yawned again, coving it with his hand before glancing up to her again. "...Goodnight." he said softly before closing his eyes. He didn't even bother to cover himself up, he just snuggled into the pillow and started dozing off right away. |
Kyran glanced back over to Nobu once Hikari had set the blades back down on the table. He shook his head softly and then went back to looking at Hikari. "It's alright, he's just been guarding them for so long that he's uneasy when they're out." He paused for a moment. "Come to think of it... Nobu just naturally started watching over the blades, even though I kept them locked up pretty well." He couldn't help thinking that was a little weird, especially because Nobu hadn't known what was in the chest to begin with. He quirked a brow slightly and then pushed the thought aside for the time being. "I was really hoping that I would never have to used these again, but after what happened with the finding the relic it's unavoidable." He sighed lightly and then lifted his hand slightly motioning for Nobu to come into the room. He'd caught sight of Nobu repeatedly standing, lifting his front paws one at a time in place as if he was trying to walk, then sit again; He'd started doing this several times before it caught Kyran's attention.
Nobu moved as soon as Kyran motioned for him to come; Quickly to his feet and headed into the living room. He walked over to the coffee table and went between the table and the couch to be on the other side of the blades. Once he was comfortable with how close he was to them he sat down and then eventually laid down with his ears perked up. LaRae lingered at the door a bit longer, at least until she heard him say good night. She smiled softly and looked back over at him and responded quietly. "Sleep well." Then turned and headed out into the hall. On her way towards the stairs she'd lifted her hands up and started to run them through her hair. She was pretty sure it probably looked bad considering she hadn't properly dried it. In fact she couldn't remember doing anything to it. She bit down lightly on her lip when she hit a knot in her hair and proceeded to work through it as she went down the stairs. Glancing up as she came down to see Kyran and Hikari we up. She nearly did a double take when she noticed the way Kyran was dressed. He looked pretty good like that. "...Well don't you look nice Kyran." She said with a soft chuckle as she stepped down into the living room. |
Hikari smiled slightly. "Oh, I see." she said softly, glancing over to Nobu when he came back into the room. "He is a bit odd...but he is a good...whatever he is." she said with a soft laugh. She was so preoccupied with watching Nobu and looking at the blades that she didn't even notice LaRae on the stairs until she spoke. Her eyes wandered up to her and she smiled pleasantly and then laughed quietly. "I know, doesn't he?" she agreed as she glanced back to Kyran for a moment. The two of them could probably do a find hob of embarrassing him to death.
Celestine opened his eyes and yawned slightly before folding his wing behind his back again and sitting up. He was actually surprised to find that it was dark again. He had apparently slept most of the day. Oh well, it wasn't like he really had anything better to do. He was starting to to the point that he could stand to eat again, though he wasn't necessarily really hungry. He stood up and walked to the edge of the roof over the front door and jumped down, opening his wings a little to slow his fall. He landed in a crouch and then turned around to open the door. He was a little surprised to find Kyran up, but didn't say anything. He really felt awkward being in Kyran's house, like he really had no business being here, so he didn't really want to raid the kitchen with the guy sitting there. In the end, he ended up just hovering by the door silently. Hikari looked over to the door when it opened and smiled slightly to Celestine. "Good evening. I haven't seen much of you today." "You haven't seen me at all today." he said bluntly. She'd been upstairs the entire 10 minutes that he was in the house. "Oh..." she said simply and then glanced over to LaRae again since Celestine was being his usual self. "Oh, LaRae, have you and Nanashi eaten today?" she asked, tilting her head slightly. "I didn't notice you come down earlier." For all she knew they could have gotten something while she was with Kyran. |
Kyran glanced up and over at LaRae when she spoke and then his eyes went to Hikari when she agreed with that LaRae said. He shook his head softly. "Now, now, don't get started; You might just tempt me to go back to what I was wearing." He said laughing lightly. His attention was snagged again when he heard the door open which caused him to turn slightly in the chair so that he could see who'd come inside. He merely smiled lightly, not bothering to say anything to him; Mostly because Hikari had already said the 'good evening' part. And rather then bore the guy by repeated something he already heard he decided to just keep his mouth shut. He turned back around in the chair and leaned back again noticing that Nobu had sat up again; Apparently the new people in the living room bothered him a little.
LaRae glanced over to the door briefly when it opened and looked at Celestine for a moment before hearing Hikari ask her a question. She stepped further into the living room, a little closer to Hikari and farther from Celestine. "...No, actually we haven't." She paused. "After Taro left I kind of fell asleep again..." She said slightly embarrassed. "Oh.. and Nanashi just fell asleep." She added lastly. Now that her mind was on food, she was rather hungry. She glanced over at Kyran and smiled softly. "If you don't mind, I'm going to help myself to what-ever is left of the food I cooked last night." She said quietly. Kyran barely had to reply, he didn't mind letting them roam the kitchen for food. As far as he was concerned he was as much a stranger to this house as they were, considering how much time he'd spent away. He nodded lightly giving her permission anyway to do what she wanted; Though he paused when she said that she cooked. He thought for a moment, the food was pretty good that he'd eaten earlier; So there was no way that Minako had made it. "So, you made that?" He asked, not quite looking for an answer. "You're a wonderful cook, LaRae." He added before glancing back down to Nobu, then sticking his hand out palm down. Motioning for Nobu to calm down and lay down. Of course Nobu did exactly that, though you could tell he wasn't happy about it by the way he plopped himself down on the floor. LaRae smiled softly. "Thank you Kyran." She said quietly before turning around and heading for the kitchen. She barely noticed Nero when she walked in. In fact considering how dark it was off in the breakfast nook she wouldn't have noticed him if not for his ivory horns. She reached her hand down and turned on the stove to re-heat the food yet again. She lifted the cover off the pot and peered inside. "Wow... I guess people were hungry." She said mostly to herself as she noticed more then half of the food was gone now. There would probably be just enough for three or four more bowls. She set the cover back down and snatched up the spoon everyone had been using to pour the food and stood next to the stove waiting to stir the food once it got warm again. |
Hikari looked at LaRae and nodded in agreement when Kyran told her that she was a good cook. She really had to agree, that tasted better than some of the things she'd eaten back home. "I suppose Nanashi can get something in the morning." she said simply since she doubted that he would want to be woken up to get food.
Celestine just stood there silently and then sighed while they all started talking about food. He still didn't bother to say anything and just pressed himself against the door when LaRae went by to go to the kitchen. Well so much for that idea. He'd just wait until she was gone. After a moment he walked into the living room and sat down on the couch much the way Nanashi had earlier; with his back straight and his hands in his lap. His eyes trailed down to the creature that Minako had been describing earlier and ran over it a few times. He thought about reaching down to pet him, but decided against it. Who knew if that thing might want to take his hand off or not. Hikari watched LaRae head to the kitchen and then glanced over to Celestine when he finally decided to go sit down. "What about you, Celestine? Have you eaten today?" she asked as she tilted her head. "Honestly I don't think I have seen you eat anything since we started this trip." Celestine turned his head again when Hikari spoke and shook it from side to side slightly to answer her. "...Not yet." he said simply and then looked away when she continued on about not seeing him eat. "...That's because when I did you weren't around." he said simply. |
Kyran focused again on Nobu for a moment and finally decided to do something with the items causing so much tension. He leaned forward and reached for Ajara and Mati and set them down in his lap before reaching back down for the cotton cloths he'd dropped on the floor. He gently wrapped the blades again and then stood up. "I'll be right back, just going to put these upstairs." He said simply before stepping past Hikari and heading for the stairs. He hurried up them and into his bedroom where he stopped in front of the closet again. He pulled the doors open with his tail and then reached for the holster straps that he usually wore when he had to carry the blades with him. He set the blades inside the holster and then hung it back in the closet. He then shut the doors snugly. "...Now maybe Nobu will relax..." He said softly before turning to head back out to the hall.
As soon as Kyran picked up the blades, covered them and then took them upstairs Nobu relaxed instantly. He'd taken notice to the person on the couch looking at him but because he was still protecting the blades he couldn't react. He turned his head to face the boy for a moment and then suddenly dove onto the couch and was now practically in Celestine's lap. He sat there for a moment before opening his mouth, revealing rather large sharp fangs and then a forked tongue. Nobu leaned closer to Celestine and then started licking his face. LaRae hovered around the stove for a little while waiting for the food to heat up enough to eat. She reached over and lifted the cover off the pot and then dipping the spoon into the pot and stirring the contents. She smiled slightly and then grabbed two bowls. She filled them both with food and then set a spoon in each bowl before turning the stove off again and then heading back into the living room with the bowls in hand. She moved over to the coffee table near Celestine; Seeing Nobu laying on him she shook her head lightly and then set a bowl down in front of him. "I over heard you hadn't eaten yet..." She said simply as she took a few steps back and went to sit down on the floor next to the book shelves. She then wasted no time at all with the food and started eating, though not quite in as big a hurry as yesterday. |
Hikari nodded to Kyran when he got up to take the blades upstairs. "Alright." She told him before glancing over to watch Nobu. She couldn't help by laughed when he pounced on Celestine and started licking him. "Awww I think you have a new friend, Celestine."
Celestine startled slightly when Nobu jumped into his lap and looked hack at him again, his eyes widening slightly when he saw his teeth, since he was half afraid that the thing was about to rip his face off since Kyran wasn't here to keep an eye on it anymore. His expression changed however when he started licking his face. "Gyack! Hey!" he said as he turned his face away, though he was half smiling as he gently pushed the animal's head away from his face. "Stop that." He looked down to Nobu once he'd gotten him out of his face and rubbed the canine behind the ears as he wiped off his face. "Good boy..." he said softly. He looked up when LaRae came near him and stopped moving, keeping that chilly gaze on her as she sat down the food. He blinked and looked at the bowl for a moment before looking back to her again. "...Thank you." He said stiffly, as if he had to force the words from his mouth. He patted Nobu's head again and then reached over for the bowl, sniffing whatever was inside for a moment. He say the bigs of fish but he guessed it would still be eatable since it was already chopped up and almost unrecognizable as having been a fish at one point. He sighed softly and finally scooped up a spoon full and stuck it into his mouth. "..." |
Nobu only moved a little when Celestine pushed his head away. Then when he started to get scratched behind the ear his leg almost instantly started to move up and down quickly. Though that soon came to a stop when Celestine went to grab the bowl that was set down on the table. He looked at the bowl for a moment and then moved to get down off the couch. He then laid down between the coffee table and the couch, practically at Celestine's feet. Nobu knew better then to be in someone's face while they were eating, not to mention the smell of the fish was bothering him. He didn't like meats or the smell of them; All around he was a complete herbivore.
LaRae looked back over at Celestine when he said thank you. She was definitely getting the vibe that he disliked her, especially by the way he said that. She didn't say another word to him and just went back to eating her food. She wasn't sure that she'd done anything to him to warrant such a cold look. She sighed lightly and decided to just ignore it. There wasn't really any reason to waste time worrying about it, if someone didn't like her then they didn't like her and she wasn't exactly going to waste her time and energy to do anything to change it. She'd just continue to be polite and treat him nice enough and see how it went. She lifted her eyes from the bowl of food again for a moment when she heard someone at the stairs. Kyran had started to come back down the stairs. On his way down he glanced around the room; Noticing that Celestine had moved and was eating. He couldn't see LaRae right away, but once he was down and further into the living room he noticed her in the corner on the floor; Eating also. He shifted his eyes over to Hikari and quirked a brow slightly. "...Did you eat already?" He hadn't known if she had or not and earlier she declined the rest of the food he had offered her. Now that he was thinking about it he was a little hungry himself. Not quite enough to have another bowl of what LaRae cooked, but maybe a snack. |
Hikari looked up again when Kyran came back into the room and smiled slightly as she nodded. "Yes I ate a little bit after I came back downstairs." she told him. She finally stood up from the floor and dusted herself off before looking around at the other three in the room. "So...do you think that we will be fit to set out again tomorrow or th day after?" she asked, mostly directing the question to Kyran. As much as she was enjoying being able to relax, she knew they probably needed to get moving again soon. They found this relic fairly quickly by sheer luck of the draw it seemed, the others may not go quite as quickly, and she did realize that they were still on a time limit.
Celestine sat quietly eating what he was given slowly. By the time Hikari got her question out he was half finished and already nearly full. He sighed and looked up at her with a 'why did you have to ask' expression on his face. "...Whenever." he said dryly before taking one more bite of his food. He shook his head and finally say it back down on the table again. That was all he could stand to eat for now. |
Nobu lifted his head slightly with his ears perked up slightly when he noticed that Celestine had set the bowl down again. Hearing the bowl hit the table was practically a green light telling him it was safe to move again. He was still laying on the ground between the table and the couch, but started to back himself up slowly without standing. Once he was clear of the table he started to creep around to the other side, never once lifting himself from the floor. He was after something that he smelt and had to move in order to get to it. As he made it to the left side of Celestine he started to stand up and then gently rest his head down on the couch and slowly inch closer and closer to the bag at his side. He wasn't sure what he was going after, but it sure smelt delicious. He continued until he was practically pushing his nose into the bag, all the while ignoring everything else going on around him.
LaRae continued eating until she was finished and then set the bowl down on the ground next to her for a moment as she caught Hikari's question. She was curious also to know when they were going to be leaving. It was obvious that it would be a lot sooner considering that Kyran was pretty much back to normal already, thanks to his Uncle Taro. She leaned her head back against the wall and gently brought her legs up, then rested her arms on top of her knees. Kyran nodded softly when she said that she had eaten earlier. As soon as she asked her question about when they could leave he'd started to walk back into the kitchen after holding up a finger as if saying 'hold that thought'. He hurried into the kitchen and opened the fridge pulling out the last apple. He shook his head softly, apparently Minako had given several of the apples to Nobu. He shut the fridge behind him and headed back into the living room after taking a bite from the apple. He looked over at Hikari and then went to answer her. "We can leave tomorrow if you like." He said quietly before taking another bite. "I should be fine by morning... So there isn't anything keeping us from leaving." He paused. "Though, I do need to know where we're going next or else directing us out of Radha is going to be a little bit of a pain." |
