Hikari smiled weakly and nodded when he asked if it was that obvious. She was quiet when he told her where he'd sent Nobu and what for. "Oh yeah...that's right, Minako put it in the drawer beside your bed while you were asleep. I'm sorry, I completely forgot to mention it..." She sighed softly and then placed her hand on his arm and gently leaned her head on his shoulder. "...Don't worry, Kyran... I'm sure Nobu will be fine..." she said softly again. She was trying to be encouraging at least. She was pretty sure anyone that saw the relic would probably just think that it was a glass ball.
Nanashi smiled at LaRae and laughed softly. "Oh." he said as he looked over at Aamori and smiled slightly. "...I'm sure it would look good any way that you wanted to wear it, though..." he added softly. "...Maybe you should try plaiting it. It wouldn't get as tangled that way." he suggested. He blinked when he saw the little creature scamper off again and tilted his head. "...?" Celestine sighed heavily when Kyiri ran off and then leaned back against the tree again. He still felt exhausted from staying up all night and even more so from being awakened again so soon. He blinked groggily and glanced around, realizing that everyone was awake already...well almost everyone. He was a little surprised that Nero was still sleeping after Kyiri ran in and after he heard someone yelling for her. He knew that voice alright, and after hearing it he was ready to go hide. Finally he stood up on the branch and hopped down, brushing himself off. "...Is everyone about ready to go?" he asked simply, though in an oddly soft tone as if he was afraid someone was going to hear him. Barely even two minutes passed before Kyiri came bounding into the clearing again, her little tails swishing behind her and her bell jingling every time she moved. She looked at Celestine and hunkered down, practically wagging her whole butt before standing up again and mewing loudly at him. She turned around and looked behind her for a moment and then looked back to Celestine before turning around to the bushes again as if she was waiting for someone else. Celestine nearly slapped his forehead and his ears laid back when he saw her again. "Damn it, Kyiri!" he grumbled as he glanced toward the bushes where she kept looking also as if he were waiting for someone to come out of them. Suddenly his ear twitched at the sound of movement behind him and he stiffened for a moment before dropping to the ground and ducking his head as he crouched as low to the ground ad he could without planting his face in it, just as another figure went sailing over the area that was right about where his torso had been moments before. The other dragon looked like he was about to land on his face for a moment, but he threw out his hands and sprang up again, slipping onto his feet. He looked back toward Celestine and grinned. He had hair only a shade darker than Celestine's silver-jade locks, though it was much shorter and would probably only fall to his shoulder blades were it worn down, but he had it pulled up in a high pony tail. His skin was pale, like Celestine's and his eyes the same emerald green, though his pupils were black rather than gold like his. His tails was the same as Celestine's long and slender, though with the slight difference of there being no fur at the tip. His wings were much different than Celestine's though. They were covered in jade green scales like his tail, and lined with pale yellow on the inside between the ribs. His head was topped by only a single horn as like Celestine, but it was smooth and ivory looking rather than gold. He was wearing clothes similar in style to Celestine, though his shirt was a dark blue and sleeveless, tied at the waist with a rope rather than a sash, and the tails of the shirt ended before they even got to his knee. He wore his shirt over a pair of brown pants, and unlike Celestine, he seemed to have no problem with shoes, though he was wearing open toed sandals. "Shoot. I missed." He said in a rather airy tone. "Not too bad, kid." Celestine stood up again and glowered at the other boy. He was almost six inches shorter than the other dragon, and a lot smaller looking in more ways than height; his shoulders were more narrow, as was his waist. "Idiot..." he muttered before bracing one hand on his waist. "Don't call me kid... How the hell did you even get back there, anyway!?" "Aw come on now," he said as he put up a mock shocked expression, "Naturally if you were using your head you'd know I walked, of course." He said and then grinned again. "And what kind of greeting is that for your favorite cousin?" "Oh please......you're the last person I want to see..." he grumbled, "And don't flatter yourself... you're my only cousin." |
Kyran looked at Hikari and shook his head lightly. "No need for you to apologize; After all it is my responsibility to look after it." He said quietly before looking away. He was quiet for a moment before giving a soft sigh. "I know he'll be alright." He paused. "I just worry because he doesn't get out too much. His appearance kind of scares some people. Not to mention hunters love weird looking things..." He really did worry too much when it came to certain things but he couldn't help but be that way. He started to glance up when he heard Celestine ask if they were ready to go. He was a little curious about the tone he used but didn't think too much about it. He started to get to his feet and then then turned slightly to offer a hand to Hikari. He turned his head back rather quickly when someone else came into the area. He just stared blankly for a moment with his hand still out to Hikari. He could tell now why Celestine had used the tone he had before. After hearing that the guy was Celestine's cousin he sighed softly and looked at Hikari. "...I have the feeling today is going to be a rough day..."
Aamori glanced back over to Nanashi once she had her sandals back on and gave a soft sigh. "I've never tried doing anything with it." She paused. "My Mother always complained when it wasn't down like it is." She finally gave up with trying to untangle it with just her fingers and talking about her hair only reminded her that she had terrible bed head. She gently lifted up her hands and grabbed a hold of her long heir and brought it around in front of her. Her hands started emit a pale blue aura. If one wasn't paying close enough attention she'd created a sheet of water that lined her palms; She stared to run her hands down her hair instantly soaking it. She removed her hands from her hair and the aura faded, then she went right back to running her fingers through her hair. Easily now, she was tugging the tangles from her hair and with no pain at all. She finished with her hair and tossed it back over her shoulder before looking up at Nanashi again with a slight smile. "There." She paused. "I hate to use magic for something like that... But it's taken care of now." She sighed softly and looked over to Celestine just about the time she saw him duck. She quirked a brow momentarily before seeing the other dragon come into the area aimed at Celestine. She glared for a moment before moving a bit closer to Celestine. Her ears twitched when she heard that this was his cousin. She shook her head lightly and looked at Celestine. "Please tell me that everyone in your family doesn't greet you like that..." LaRae really didn't want to get up but after hearing the commotion she couldn't help but get up from Nanashi's lap. She dusted herself off a little and looked over at Celestine and this new guy, his cousin apparently. She sighed softly and then looked down at Nanashi. "...I think I got up for nothing..." She said quietly. |
Hikari sighed softly when Kyran told her why he was so worried. "Oh Kyran..." she said quietly. Hikari held her hand up to take Kyran's once he got up, but she was still sitting on the ground when the other dragon appeared. Judging by looks, she didn't think he was much older than seventeen or eighteen. She supposed he was pretty good looking, though she had seen a little better. She was a little taken aback by the way that he spoke to Celestine as if he knew him, though it made sense once he said that he was his cousin. She finally stood up and dusted herself off for a moment, though she kept quiet. Celestine didn't seem too happy to see that guy, but the other one seemed to be glad to see him.
Nanashi smiled at Aamori and nodded. "Well...it seems hard to manage without a comb or brush." he said to her before LaRae got up. He just sat there, watching her until he saw the other dragon enter the clearing. He blinked and tilted his head as he listened to the exchange between the two and then looked back to LaRae. "...Maybe..." he said with a weak smile as he stood up. Celestine looked over to Aamori and sighed softly. "...No, just this egocentric imbecile." He said dryly, his voice returning to normal. The boy blinked when Aamori approached them and them started to look around, finally taking in all of the others. His eyes caught on LaRae for a few moments and then he looked at Celestine like he was crazy and raised an eyebrow. When he spoke this time, he was speaking to him in the native language of their clan rather than the common language that everyone shared. "You are actually traveling with one of them? And you haven't killed her? Are you sick?" Celestine gave him an annoyed look and answered him in the same language that he spoke. "If I killed her there would be more trouble than it would be worth. I am not planning to take her anywhere near the village though..." "Why not, you're the only one that would even really care, I think." He responded. Celestine narrowed his eyes at him and growled, "That's because I'm the only one with any common sense among you people... She's as dangerous as they were if not more..." Nanashi had been looking back and forth between the two as they spoke. After Celestine's last comment he narrowed his eyes and looked at him. "She is not dangerous! It was your fault for what happened last night, you and your mouth! If you would keep your tongue in check then you two would have no problem!" He snapped at Celestine in the same language that he and the other were speaking. Celestine's ears twitched and he and the other turned their heads to stare at Nanashi at the same time, both with an almost comical look of bemusement on their faces. Celestine opened his mouth to respond, but his cousin beat him to the punch. "What the hell!? You're a halfbreed, aren't you? How the hell did you learn our language?" he asked, his speech back to where everyone could understand. He was surprised that the guy could speak dragon at all, but especially that he could speak the language of the wind clan. Most dragons could speak their own clan's language and the common language and that was it, not many knew the language of the other clans. Nanashi closed his mouth and stared at the man for a moment and then looked away, now looking fidgety and a little embarrassed. He hadn't even been thinking when he answered them in the same language that they were speaking. He didn't answer his question at all, just looked away from him completely. "..." |
Kyran stood quietly watching the conversation between Celestine and his cousin. He didn't understand a word they were saying but by the tone he assumed he wouldn't have wanted to know anyway. He was a little shocked himself to have heard Nanashi speak in the same language as the other two were. Then he wondered just how many of the languages could he speak. He was rather baffled to say the least once he thought about it again. His ears twitched a few times when he heard Celestine's cousin speaking a language he could understand; He sighed softly and looked over at Hikari. "...I think things are about to get rough." He commented quietly, foreseeing this not ending well.
Aamori half smirked at Celestine's choice of words; She didn't have to give it another thought, she had a pretty good idea of the type of guy his cousin was just from that brief description. As soon as they started talking in another tongue she sighed heavily feeling rather ignored at the moment. She immediately looked over at Nanashi when she heard him speaking the same language that Celestine and his cousin had. She was a bit shocked to say the least. Then she ended up absently taking a couple steps back when she heard what Celestine's cousin had said to Nanashi. LaRae just stood quietly for most of the conversation going on between Celestine and his cousin, since she couldn't understand a word that they were saying. Judging by the tone though she could only think it wasn't something pleasant. She gave a soft sigh and was about to look over at Nanashi and say something to him but he'd already started on Celestine in that same language. She just stared at him with a quirked brow until he finished speaking. She reached over and touched his arm gently about to ask him how he knew the language but again didn't manage to get a word out, though this time because of Celestine's cousin. She shifted her glance over to the guy once he finished talking and then looked at Nanashi briefly before biting her lip lightly. She let go of his arm and took a step forward; Obviously a bit peeved at Celestine's cousin. "The proper terminology is Dragon Half. One day I'll get to stop correcting asses like you." She spat. "And he doesn't have to answer to you or anyone else in your clan." She continued before crossing her arms over her chest. |
Hikari had no idea what Celestine and his cousin were talking about, but from Celestine's tone he could only imagine that his cousin was teasing him in some way. She was completely speechless when she heard Nanashi snapping at one of them; she supposed Celestine considering that was who he was looking at. She glanced over to Kyran when he said that it wasn't going to end well and sighed softly. "Does it ever?" she asked quietly. She was a bit curious to know the answer to the other boy's question, though. How did Nanashi learn their language?
The boy looked at LaRae when she went off and blinked, holding both hands up in front of him as if in surrender. "...Dragon half...halfbreed, whatever it gets the point across." he said, waving his hand in front of himself a little dismissively, "Geez, that's all I've ever heard them called." He then blinked and looked LaRae over again. "Oh wait...you're..." he started and then paused, clasping his hands together in front of him. "Oh I get it! You're his little lady!" He said brightly. His tone had never been malicious since he got there, and he only really sounded half serious when he was talking to Celestine before, but now his tail was swishing behind him almost like a puppy. Nanashi's eyes widened and he stared back at the boy. "What!?" he said, gaping at him. He'd been about ready to tell LaRae that it was alright when people called him a halfbreed, he was used to it by now. He still couldn't believe this guy was serious. Celestine slapped his forehead and then elbowed his cousin hard in the side, "Would you stop acting like an idiot, Kanone!? If you don't stop it, I'm going to disown you!" Kanone yelped and lowered his arms, rubbing his side. "Ow... Vengeful gods, kid! What are you getting all worked up over? Half the village thinks your dead, I think the least of your problems is being related to me." Celestine just blinked and dropped his arms back to his side, obviously not too sure what to say to that. He knew he hadn't been there in a long time, but did they honestly think that he was so weak that he'd die if he lived on his own? "...It's still at the top of the list." |
Kyran glanced back at Hikari and just shook his head lightly. It never did end well. He looked back over at LaRae when he heard her speak and sighed heavily. "...And things are only going to get worse..." He said quietly knowing full well where this would end up going.
Aamori shook her head when LaRae opened her mouth. Every time LaRae did that to defend someone it never ended well, at least for someone. She only rolled her eyes when she heard what Kanone said to her in response. She looked over at Celestine for a moment and then gave a soft sigh. "You should just let him run his mouth. If anything happens to him because of his lack of control of the words coming out, it's his own fault." LaRae was a little taken back by his comment though his demeanor about it only annoyed. She half thought of just letting it go, in fact she'd already turned around as if she was going to leave it alone. Though seeing Konone's tail practically wagging behind him made her think twice. She bit her lip and absently the tip of her tail whipped against the ground making a loud snapping sound. She took a deep breath and turned around lifting her eyes to glare at Kanone. "Our personal lives are none of your business and it'd be wise for you not to speak another word about them." She muttered. She was just about to open her mouth to say something else but was rather quickly cut off by a hand over her mouth. Aamori wasted very little time getting over to LaRae and placing her faintly glowing hand over her mouth. She'd already threatened Kanone, anything else that came out of her mouth she imagined would only be worse. She looked at LaRae and didn't move her hand, merely shook her head lightly. "Don't let him get under your skin. He isn't worth it." She said quietly trying to avoid a major conflict. She might have just let her friend snap back at Kanone but considering how hard this was already on Celestine the last thing she wanted was for LaRae to do or say anything to make things even harder. LaRae's eyes shifted down to look at Aamori and she tried to speak but her voice was being muffled thanks to her friend. She rolled her eyes momentarily and then lifted her hand to tug on Aamori's to pull it away. Once Aamori's hand was away from her mouth she gave a small sigh. "Fine. I'll drop it." She said in a bit calmer of a voice. She probably wouldn't have dropped it so easily if Aamori hadn't forced water down her throat. If anything that just showed her how serious Aamori was about getting her to stop. |
Hikari sighed and put her hand to her head. "...So it seems..." she cringed when LaRae actually threatened Kanone. The poor guy hadn't really don't anything to deserve that, or at least she didn't think so. He was just being silly.
Nanashi looked at LaRae and blinked. He wasn't too sure what she was going off about anyway. He placed his hands on her shoulders gently once Aamori released her and sighed. "...Just calm down, LaRae... He isn't trying to be mean..." Or at least he didn't think he was. He guessed with someone like him it may be hard to tell. Kanone blinked at LaRae and his tail fell back to the ground. "Geez, temperamental bunch of friends you've got here, kid." he said as he glanced over to Celestine again. "They fit you perfectly!" Celestine glared daggers at Kanone. "Don't call me kid!" He snapped at him again before turning his evil gave on LaRae. "LaRae...I am only going to tell you this once..." he said in a low tone, "If you so much as even try to use your magic on anyone in this territory, I will not hesitate to kill you where you stand." he said seriously, though he couldn't tell if she was hearing him or not with Aamori on her. Nanashi sighed and looked at Celestine pleadingly. "...Celestine..." he groaned, taking a hold of LaRae's shoulders as if he knew she was going to try something. He held her firmly, but gently, and slowly raised one hand to her mouth to place over it lightly. He looked down to her and shook his head slightly as if silently begging her not to bite back and start a huge fight. Kanone blinked and then sighed, putting his hand on top of Celestine's head after he heard what he'd said. "...Simmer down whirlwind..." he said in a more grow-up tone. "Don't go making death threats to the little lady. I'm sure she means no one any harm. Right?" He asked with a smile. "Look, I was only teasing, no need for everyone to go flying off their rocker." Celestine's ear twitched when he called him Whirlwind. "...Don't call me that, either." He said in a quieter tone as he reached op to forcefully remove the hand from head head. "...Go home already, Kanone, you've caused enough trouble for one day." "What's wrong with Whirlwind? You used to let...oh..." He said trailing off as if he got it now. "Aww why should i go home? You're the one wandering back here! Come with me. I'm sure Mother would be thrilled to know you're not worm food." He said with a soft laugh, and then his tone grew a lot more serious. "...She isn't doing too well, Cel." He said quietly. Celestine's ear twitched again and he glanced back to Kanone, looking at his expression, which was oddly serious. He was silent for a moment, his ears laying back a little. "....Fine then." He said finally. He did like his aunt, though she got on his nerves to no end. She was the biggest part of why he'd left, but something about the way Kanone put that made it sound like something was really wrong with her. He guessed the least he could do was come to see her after everything. |
Aamori glanced briefly over at LaRae again once she'd heard the threat Celestine made. Of course she knew that wasn't going to sit well with LaRae. She sighed heavily before turning to look at Celestine with a less then pleasant look on her face. "Since we're all being serious here for a moment." She paused. "Let me make it clear to you Celestine, she won't touch anyone from your clan without just cause and should you try to lay a finger on her you'll have an extremely unhappy water dragon to go through first." She snipped. She took a deep breath and smiled softly; Her whole tone and expression changing quickly. She glanced over to Kanone and tried to suppress a soft chuckle. "I think it a bit humorous that you even referred to us as his friends, I don't think Celestine likes having friends." She said with a slight smirk. "I also think he has a slight lack of manors for not bothering to introduce you to any of us." She paused. "I've gathered your name is Kanone." She said lightly. "Should you care to know, I'm Aamori." She said with a small smile. She turned a little and looked at Celestine. "I gather you've got someone to see, and it's a little important. I don't mind waiting here on you, and I'm sure the others would gladly wait. If you'd rather go alone with your cousin."
LaRae of course got upset at the threat that Celestine had made. She'd hoped that after last night he wouldn't say anything to set her off again, but she should've known better. He didn't care one way or the other about her. She grumbled quietly since Nanashi had placed a hand over her mouth. At least he couldn't shove water in her mouth. She lifted her hands up and pulled Nanashi's hand away from her mouth. She didn't bother saying a word, mostly because she had a feeling either Nanashi or Aamori would plaster their hand right back over her mouth. She half glared at Celestine though, before she turned around and walked away. She wandered over to a tree far enough away that she couldn't hear them very well anymore and sat down. Kyran watched for a moment and heaved a heavy sigh. "I think that's the fastest any argument with Celestine has ever been defused..." He commented quietly. "...That is unless what Aamori said causes a problem." |
Celestine was quiet while Aamori jabbered at him. "Him running his mouth is hardly just cause for her to threaten him. He's just being an idiot." he said simply. He groaned when he felt Kanone's hand on top of his head again when he said that, ruffling up his hair. He looked at Aamori with the expression of someone ready to crawl under a rock. He was too tired to deal with this right now. When she mentioned him going alone with his cousin his eyes widened slightly and he shook his head a little from side to side. He didn't really want to go back at all, but he'd be damned before he went with only Kanone.
Kanone looked over to Aamori and smiled brightly. "Pleased to meet ya, missy. And yeah, I know Cel-o here is a pain in the ass, but he's a good kid." he said as he messed up his hair. "He's good natured in spite of himself." He told her, "So you just have to overlook his mouth." "WILL YOU STOP TOUCHING ME!?" Celestine finally snapped, throwing Kanone's hand off of his head and trying to smooth down his hair. "Vengeful gods, why are you so damn annoying!?" "Mmm...Good question..." He said with a grin, "Maybe I'm making up for your lack of personality." He said as he patted him on the head. Nanashi sighed and released LaRae when she pulled his hand away and then turned to walk after her once Celestine and Kanone started up again. He shook his head and just sank down beside her. "...Those two make some pair..." Hikari looked over to Kyran and nodded slightly. "Yes...I believe he is a bit too distracted to keep it up..." she said with a soft laugh. "His cousin is funny." She looked up to him again and smiled slightly. "...Don't you think we should go say hello?" |
Aamori looked at Celestine and gave a soft sigh. She was going to open her mouth to say something in response to his comment but she decided not to since the mood had already started to change a little. She glanced back over to Kanone. "That is reassuring to hear." She said with a slight smile. "Sometimes I think he's rotten to core by his actions." She said as shifted her glance back to Celestine very briefly. She looked back to Kanone and laughed softly. "I'm not sure you've noticed but you both use the words Vengeful Gods when your upset about something." She paused and looked back to Celestine with a smirk. "And you should be glad that all Kanone is doing is touching your head, after all he could be clinging to you tightly and calling you Celly."
LaRae glanced over at Nanashi when he sat down next to her. "...Yeah... I can tell they're related..." She said as she brought her knees up and rested her head against them. She gave a small sigh, now feeling a little silly for flying off the handle like that over something so silly. She couldn't help it though, any topic relating to her personal life like that was bound to result in her a bit upset. Especially after the letter she had read that she still held in her pocket. Then she was also a little bothered that all Nanashi could think of to say was 'what' in response to what Kanone said. She gave another sigh and turned her head away from Nanashi. Kyran looked back over at Celestine for a moment. "Either that or he's just too tired. That little fluff ball didn't really let him sleep for too long." He said shaking his head lightly. His eyes shifted over to Kanone and then back to Hikari. "Well, he's definitely got enough of a sense of humor to make up for Celestine's lack of one." He said with a soft laugh. "And I suppose the proper thing to do would go introduce ourselves, since Celestine seems to be more concerned with his cousin touching him." He commented before starting to head over to where they were standing. He came to a stop near Aamori and looked at Kanone. "I do hope I'm not interrupting anything." He paused. "My name is Kyran." |
Celestine glowered at Aamori and then sighed and closed his eyes. "Would you two stop talking about me like I'm not here?" he said irritably as he tried to smooth his hair out.
Kanone laughed softly at Aamori's comment, "Nah...he's like a kitten, he'll love you to death on his own terms." He said simply, glancing to Celestine with a grin. "And ya, my uncle used to say that a lot, I guess it kinda rubbed off on the both of us." he said simply. He glanced back when Kyran approached him and smiled. "Hi there. I'm Kanone, Celestine's older and...much less violet cousin." He said with a smirk as he glanced over to Celestine. Celestine just glared back to Kanone and sighed. 'Just once I'd kind to knock him through the trees...' he thought tiredly before he just sat down where he stood. Hikari nodded slightly in response to what Kyran had said about him being too tired to argue back. The boy looked like he was about to fall back asleep standing up to her. She followed Kyran over to where Kanone was and smiled at him after he and Kyran introduced themselves. "My name is Hikari." she told him lightly. Kanone smiled back to Hikari and reached out to hake her hand, leaning for a moment to kiss it. "The pleasure is all mine." He said with a crooked smile. "I'm glad to finally see a girl prettier than my cousin over the--YIKE!" he yelped as he fell to the ground. Celestine's ears flattened and he slammed his arm into the back of Kanone's knee, giving him and all out death glare when he looked down at him. "Are you finished!?" Kanone scooted away from Celestine and laughed nervously. "Yes?" he said, sounding almost timid before his ears fell back. "So violent..." he muttered before standing up again and dusting himself off. Nanashi smiled weakly at LaRae and shook his head. "I can't..." He said with a soft laugh. "They are complete opposites." He blinked when Celestine knocked Kanone down, "...And they aren't exactly what I'd mark as close..." He glanced over to her again and sighed softly when he realized that she was looking away. "...What is it, LaRae?" he asked softly. |
Aamori glanced at Celestine with a rather blank expression on her face. "It isn't like we're talking badly about you Celestine." She commented quietly before looking back to Kanone. She chuckled softly hearing the analogy of Celestine to a kitten. That analogy actually seemed to fit perfectly; At least she thought so.
Kyran nodded slightly. "It's nice to finally be introduced." He said simply before glancing over to Hikari when she introduced herself. He turned his eyes away briefly when Kanone went to kiss her hand though he looked back as soon as he heard the yelp and noticed what had happened. He merely shook his head. Celestine was rather violent, at least with people. Aamori glared at Celestine after what he did to Kanone then smirked slightly. "Is it just me or does Celestine have a habit of only hurting the people he cares about?" She said stifling a soft chuckle. LaRae didn't move very much and didn't bother turning her head to look at Nanashi. "...It's nothing." She said quietly before changing the subject a little, rather quickly. "It's obvious that Celestine likes his cousin, even if he find him annoying. Why else would he fly off and threaten me right back after I threatened his cousin? If they weren't close then he wouldn't have cared one way or the other about what I said." |
Hikari blinked when Kanone fell and still stood there with a slight blush on her face from the kiss and the comment. "Oh my." she said quietly. She hadn't really expected Celestine to knock the poor guy down. "Are you alright?"
Kanone smiled and just waved it off. "Yeah." he said simply, "He can't hurt me too bad." he said simply and then glanced over toward Aamori again and laughed softly. "Yeah, I guess so. I never see him going off on anyone else." He said lightly as he patted Celestine on the head. "So anyway...What in the world did you guys do to posses him to come home? And...not to be rude, but why the hell are you all here? This is...one hella messed up picture." Celestine just sighed and closed his eyes again. "I'm not coming home. I'm getting directions, saying hi to Sonia, and leaving again." he said simply. "Directions?... To where?" "...The abandoned temple." he said simply, without really looking at him. Kanone's eyes widened slightly and his mouth fell open for a second. "What?? What? Hey, look, Celestine...I know you've been depressed lately, but don't go getting suicidal on me.' He said with practically no humor in his tone. For once he actually looked serious, and worried. Celestine glared at Kanone again and looked like he was about to snap and then sighed. "I am not depressed or suicidal, I'm looking for something... were you not paying any attention at all to that meeting? ...I saw you at the festival..." "Umm...I didn't go to the meeting." He said with a weak laugh as he rubbing the back of his head. Hikari blinked and then sighed softly, shaking her head. She was a little worried about where they were going now...at least after seeing Kanone's reaction. She wanted to ask what this place was, but she kept her mouth shut for now. She may ask later if she was brave enough to know. Nanashi sighed softly and glanced back to them again. "...Yes, I guess so..." He said softly. He then looked back to LaRae and sighed. "...And it must be something..." he said softly, "...or you to be changing the subject on me like that..." He smiled weakly and placed his hand on her shoulder lightly. "...Are you mad that i put my hand on your mouth?..." He asked a little sheepishly. He knew if that had been someone else he probably would have lost an arm for putting his filthy halfblood hand on them at all, but he didn't think she's be angry for that reason, probably just because he stopped her from shooting off her mouth. |
Aamori was a little surprised that Celestine didn't have anything to say to her after her comment. He must have been really tired still if he wasn't even going to snap on her over something like that. She gave a soft sigh and kept her mouth shut while Celestine and Kanone were talking. She didn't want to interrupt; Then again she didn't really have anything useful to say.
Kyran glanced back down at Hikari briefly noticing the slight color to her cheeks, then he looked away. He sighed softly and looked at Celestine when he heard the back and forth between him and Kanone. Of course he too was a bit concerned about where they were getting directions to now. Though he imagined it couldn't have been all that worse then where they went to get the thunder relic. LaRae turned her head slightly now, looking straight ahead rather then at Nanashi. She gave a soft sigh. "I'm not mad at anyone for anything." She said quietly. "If I should be mad at someone for putting their hand over my mouth, it should be Aamori." She paused. "She forced water in my mouth to keep me from talking." She wasn't really even mad at Aamori for doing that, she knew she had a habit of running off at the mouth and thankfully Aamori did something to stop her from talking; Otherwise things probably would've been a lot worse. Then the same with Nanashi, she wasn't angry that he did it too. She knew that sometimes she needed help to shut her yap and this was just one of those times. She sighed softly. She of course was remembering now that she said she'd be more straight forward with Nanashi. Why did that always come back to her when she didn't want to talk about something? She bit her lip lightly. She really didn't want to go talking about something like that with everyone around. Nero had managed to sleep through most everything that was going on. Now he was starting to wake up, finally. He cracked his eyes open and glanced around a bit, now realizing that he'd been asleep. He gave a small sigh. "...Of course..." He muttered quietly to himself. He hated when he got so tired he for lack of better words passed out. Once he'd woken up a bit he looked around at the others. It didn't take long for him to notice the new guy that was over with the majority of the group. He got to his feet and dusted himself off before stepping out of the brush and out into the clearing to stretch. |
Celestine finally stood up and dusted himself off. "...Anyway...we're wasting daylight..." he said dully. "We should get going..." He still did not seem too enthusiastic about this little adventure, but he had already said that he would go back to see his aunt so he planned on it.
Kanone grinned slightly. "You say that like there wont be more tomorrow." he said simply. "Why are you always so dull anymore, huh?" he asked, as he crossed his arms. Celestine was starting to look frustrated. "Konone... About face..." he said dryly. He just wanted to get this over with. The sooner he got in the sooner he could get out, and he wanted to be out by nightfall. "What about my face?" He asked in a teasing manner, though he knew full well that he wanted him to turn around and start walking. "...It's facing the wrong way!" he snapped at him before just holding up one hand in frustration as if telling him to stop. He just walked around him and started toward the edge of the trees. Kanone sighed and turned around, nearly jumping when he saw the black dragon there. "Ahh! Whoa hell I didn't see you there." he commented. How he seemed a bit more fidgety. He had nothing against the the dark clan, but at the same time, most of those people scared the hell out of him. This guy didn't look like the friendliest person alive either. Hikari laughed softly at Celestine's comment about Kanone facing the wrong way and then glanced over to Kyran. She shook her head and sighed softly before reaching over to take his hand. "It appears we're being left." she said as she gave his hand a gently tug in the direction that Celestine had gone. Kyiri had just been sitting tee watching everyone and listening to them talk, but once Celestine got up and started to walk away she hopped up and bounded after him, jumping up on him from behind. She latched her claws into the tail of his shirt and climbed up under his wing and then onto his shoulder without clawing his skin int he process, or at least not badly. She purred loudly and rubbed against his cheek lightly. Nanashi smiled weakly and then laughed softly. "...I guess so..." He said softly. He still wanted to know what was bugging her, but he decided not to push it. He looked up again when he saw Celestine starting away. "...I think we are leaving." he said softly as he started to get to his feet. He looked back to LaRae and held out his hand to her like he usually did. |
Aamori watched when Celestine started to walk off and gave a soft sigh. By now she was really wishing that he had gotten more sleep because he was more cranky then usual. She wasted very little time following after him, as usual. She did however keep a couple feet of distance from him.
Kyran merely shook his head lightly hearing what Celestine said to Kanone. "...Apparently he's got a little snap left in him, even if he is tired." He commented quietly before looking down noticing Hikari had taken hold of his hand. He smiled faintly and nodded softly before she tugged on his hand and then followed her. "...Knowing Celestine he'd leave us all behind to find our own way..." He said with a soft laugh. LaRae turned her head slightly when she noticed that Nanashi had gotten to his feet. Her eyes focused on his hand and she sighed softly before reaching out to take it and get to her feet as well. She released his hand as soon as she was standing again and proceeded to dust herself off a little before following after Kyran and Hikari. She walked a little slower then normal, but she wouldn't go falling behind the others too much. Nero looked at the guy when he realized that he was standing there. He turned his head away partly. "That's because I wasn't where you could see me." He said before looking past the guy and seeing the others were already leaving. "Excuse me." He said quietly before walking past the guy to continue on with the others. |
Celestine glanced over to Kyiri once she hopped onto his shoulder and smiled weakly, raising his hand to stroke her head. "...You haven't changed..." he said with a weak smile as he continued walking. He yawned slightly and rolled his free shoulder slightly. It was stiff from the way that he'd ended up falling asleep.
Hikari smiled and laughed softly. "So it seems." she said as she continued to walk. She held onto Kyran's hand for a few moments before finally realizing that she still had it. "Oh, sorry. Haha I guess you want that back, huh?" she sad with a smile and then glanced down, "Oh, Kyran, your blades!" she reminded him before they got too far out of the clearing. Kanone smiled weakly at the black dragon and nodded. "Haha...right.." he said as he rubbed the back of his head. He stepped to the side to let him pass once he asked him to excuse him and then sighed and shrugged, "Wait up, people." He said as he started after the other guy. He glanced back when he realized that the two half breed, or dragon halves, whatever you wanted to call them, were behind him. He slowed down a little and looked at the female with a smile. "...Hey...I'm going to apologize for Cel. He's got issues. Just don't let what he says get to you, 'kay?" Nanashi just sighed softly at the way that LaRae was acting. He really wanted to know what was bothering her. He blinked when Kanone came back to them again and then tilted his head slightly. He glanced away when he started talking to LaRae and apologizing for what Celestine had said. Obviously he saw nothing that he himself needed to apologize for, but apparently he'd picked up on the way LaRae looked. |
Aamori just gave a small sigh watching Celestine briefly. Not too many more steps and she had to glue her eyes to the ground below her because she'd stumbled once or twice already. She was really starting to regret wearing her sandals at all.
Kyran glanced down at the mention of his blades and brought his hand up and smacked it against his forehead. Of course he'd go and forget those damn things. He smiled slightly though and looked at Hikari. "Yes, along with those it looks like we both forgot our boots." He commented with a small laugh as he started to turn back, this time tugging lightly at Hikari's hand. How he managed to even forget his boots was beyond him. He for the most part ignored everyone else on his way to his stuff. Once he got there he knelt down and started to slip his boots on rather quickly and managed to get them laced in no time flat. He sighed softly and reached out to grab his blades before standing again and slipping them into the holster. LaRae sighed softly when she noticed Kanone coming back towards them. She looked at him briefly a bit uninterested in what he had to say. "Celestine isn't the one you need to be apologizing for." She muttered. "Besides, I've already accepted that Celestine has something against me. So he's bound to speak badly to me." She commented before walking around Kanone and continuing to follow after the others. Nero looked back over his shoulder slightly when he saw Kyran walking in the opposite direction. He didn't say a word about it and shrugged lightly continuing to walk. |
Hikari blinked and then looked down at her bare legs. "Oops." she said with a soft laugh. She shook her head at herself, turning to follow Kyran back when he headed back. She snagged her boots once they got there and then pulled them on, zipping them up before standing. She checked to make sure that she still had her bow, but apparently she'd never taken that off of her shoulder. She smiled slightly at Kyran, "I suppose it's easy to forget with all of the excitement this morning." she said with a soft laugh. "Well, come on, let's not get left." she said after he got his blades back on. She turned quickly and hurried after the others again.
Kanone blinked at LaRae's tone. "What do I need to apologize for? Look, if you're mad because I called you two halfbreeds, I didn't know there was another term for it. Geez, you're a touchy one..." he muttered under his breath. Nanashi shook his head. "She isn't a halfbreed.." He said quietly, "She's a pure blood..." he corrected him. "...And I don't think that's it either..." Kanone just blinked, his face turning a little pink. "...Erm...right....I'm just...going back up here. Hell with it." He said as he started to speed up again. So much for trying to get through to that one. |
Kyran nodded lightly with a smile on his face. "I guess so... I still feel silly forgetting even my shoes." He said quietly. "Nobu would have my ass if he knew I forgot my blades too." He said shaking his head lightly. He followed after Hikari when she hurried to catch up with the others.
LaRae stopped for a moment when she heard what Kanone had said; She hadn't even noticed that he thought she was a dragon half. She kind of forgot herself that she could easily be mistaken for one. She balled up her fist tightly and bit her lip all the while not bothering to turn around. She took a deep breath and released her fist when she heard Nanashi correct him. It was better that Nanashi said something over her, she'd probably have ended up hitting the guy and thus pissing Celestine off even more. She sighed heavily and turned to look at Nanashi for a moment. "Don't bother with him Nanashi..." She paused. "It's obvious the guy is too dense to realize what he said to upset me." She paused again, turning back around this time. "Besides, If he's anything like Celestine the apology would have no meaning." She grumbled quietly before continuing to walk. Nobu had finally started to near the area where the others had stopped for night. He was completely tuckered out but wouldn't stop until he caught up to Kyran. He burst into the clearing rather clumsily; Hitting a tree so fast that it forced the bark from the side of it before he rolled across the ground. He laid on the grass for a moment, knowing he was close enough to rest for a second. He brushed his paw against the side of his snout briefly before getting back to his feet and shaking his whole body, flicking pieces of bark from his fur. |
Hikari laughed softly when he said that he felt silly for forgetting his boots. "Well, we can feel silly together." she said lightly. She shook her head and laughed again, still unable to believe that she'd left her boots laying there. The grass was so soft that after she'd gotten up walking around, she'd just forgotten that she wasn't supposed to be feeling the grass on her feet at all.
Nanashi looked at LaRae for a moment and shook his head. "...I must be pretty dense to then..." he admitted, "Honestly...he didn't say much of anything that I found offensive...so I'm not sure what he said to upset you either..." he sad, "Unless you're just really that against being called my little lady." He said with a weak smile, though about the time that he said that he realized that was about when she went off the most. "...That's what he said, wasn't it?" Kanone was just hurrying along, trying to get back to the front where Celestine was, though once he whizzed past Kyran, Hikari, and the creepy guy he gave up and just took to walking near Aamori. It was probably safer to give Celestine his few feet of space anyway right now. |
Kyran shook his head again lightly with a soft laugh. "Well I'm glad you forgot yours too, I don't feel as bad." He said with a smile as she looked down at her.
Nobu stayed in the clearing only long enough to shake the bark from his fur; Once he was bark-free he took off at a slower pace to catch up to Kyran. Which didn't take all that long. He passed by LaRae and Nanashi without stopping and continued until he came up to Kyran's side and nuzzled his head against Kyran's side. Kyran didn't notice at first that the thing against his side was Nobu. It took him a moment to finally look down and see the giant purple mass at his side. He smiled warmly and set his hand on top of Nobu's head. "I'm glad your back Nobu." He said quietly as he patted his head. He glanced over Nobu for a moment and then quirked a brow. "...Where's the relic?" He questioned when he realized that it wasn't anywhere on Nobu. Nobu nuzzled against Kyran a little more when he started petting him. Though his ears fell back when he heard Kyran ask about the relic so quickly. He continued walking beside Kyran but didn't lift his head right away. After a few moments he finally looked back up at Kyran and opened his mouth wide; He was trying to say that he accidentally ate it but he wasn't so sure that Kyran would catch on. Aamori lifted her eyes very briefly when she heard someone walking near her. She looked over to see Kanone and then sent her eyes right back down to the ground; Only lifting her eyes every few steps to make sure she was still following Celestine. "...Giving him room too, I assume?" She asked quietly. LaRae sighed after hearing Nanashi and started to turn around, in the process catching glimpse of Nobu running past her. She stared at him for a moment once she was completely turned around; Though she hadn't stopped walking just yet, so she was walking backwards. Surprisingly enough with little to no trouble what so ever. "...I admit, I got upset over something stupid." She said quietly. "...I think I was mostly mad at the way he said it over anything that was meant by it." She said averting her eyes. "I don't think stuff like that should be joked about." She paused. "...And I have nothing against being called that Nanashi, I really don't." She said quietly. "...But I don't want to be called something I'm not." She added before turning back around and continuing to walk. |
Hikari smiled at Kyran and then blinked when Nobu came running up to him. She smiled brightly when he showed up and then looked at Kyran's ace when he started to pet him. She tilted her head when Kyran asked where the relic was, there really was only one place that Nobu could put it, and when he opened his mouth that wide she shook her head. With a mouth that size he could swallow the thing whole. she thought absently...and then stopped walking. "Don't tell me...you swallowed it!?"
Kanone looked over to Aamori and smiled slightly. "It's probably safest, wouldn't you agree? He's having fun with Kyiri right now." He said sigh a soft laugh. "That thing nearly drove me insane when he left, all she did was wander around the house meowing and crying. So I guess now she's happy at least... I don't know what the hell that thing is, but it showed up on our doorstep and took right up with him, so we kept it. We just call it a kitten..." he rambled. He obviously liked to talk and didn't really care about what. Nanashi startled when Nobu ran by and then looked at LaRae as she spoke, but didn't say a word. He sighed heavily once she finished and his ears fell back slightly once she turned back around again. "...I could only wish..." he said quietly, more to himself than anything. He turned his eyes to the feet of the person ahead of them, just following them as they walked. |
Kyran watched when Nobu opened his mouth but hadn't quite caught on as fast as Hikari had apparently. He stopped walking a few steps after Hikari had and looked down at Nobu with slightly widened eyes. He hadn't thought of that but certainly it wouldn't be all that hard for Nobu to swallow it. He was speechless as he stared down at Nobu. He stared at him for a moment before sighing heavily and kneeling down grabbing a firm hold of Nobu and pulling him close. "I hope to the gods that he didn't swallow that damn thing..." He muttered as he started at Nobu's throat and started to apply a little pressure as he felt around heading for Nobu's stomach. He was just about to give a sigh of relief since he hadn't felt something but he stopped dead in his tracks when he felt something hard and then he started to pull his hand away and as he did so a single bolt of eletricity was connecting from Kyran's hand to the spot in Nobu's stomach where the relic was resting. He gave a heavy sigh removed his hand the rest of the way before standing up and bopping Nobu on the head. "How in the hell did you manage that...?" He said in a less then satisfied tone.
Nobu's ears laid back instantly when he heard Hikari and then again at Kyran's tone. He fidgeted a lot when Kyran started touching him and actually got quite nervous. He half hoped that Kyran wouldn't find something, but he knew better since he did actually swallow it. He flinched when the electricity came from the orb inside of him. It didn't really hurt, merely tickled. He looked at Kyran when he asked how he managed it and just stared; He could answer the question much the same way that he had been talking to Celestine before. But he didn't want to throw too much on Kyran at the moment and just continued to stare at him. Aamori lifted her eyes again to look over at Kanone. She smirked lightly. "And here I didn't think that Celestine knew the meaning of the word 'fun'." She chuckled lightly. "And yes, I've learned to keep back a few feet when he's, well grumpy." She said quietly. She looked back at the ground for a moment as she continued to walk. "A Kitten?" She paused. "Hardly. But I suppose that would suffice since you don't know what it is." She lifted her eyes again. "He seems to have a way with animals." She commented. "Lani is rather attached him too, I'm sure if that kitten could fly she'd follow him everywhere too." LaRae didn't say anything else, merely continued walking. She hadn't heard what Nanashi said, otherwise she might have turned around. She gave a heavy sigh and started to slow her pace when she saw that Kyran, Hikari and Nobu were just standing there, clearly a little upset about something. She quirked a brow slightly and finally came to a stop near them. "...What's going on? We're going to get left behind if you just stand here..." |
Hikari stared at Nobu and Kyran for a moment and then shook her head. "Oh great..." she muttered softly. She knelt down in front of Nobu and reached out to gently rub behind his ears. "I hope it comes out soon...." she muttered quietly. "Or we are going to have a problem later..." her ears twitched slightly when she heard LaRae's voice and she sighed. "Nobu swallowed the relic..." she said as she stood up straight again.
Nanashi's eyes widened slightly when he heard what Hikari said. "What? How?" he asked as he looked at Nobu. "...Oh...never mind..." he said, realizing it was a stupid question apparently. He was plenty big enough to swallow it whole and even still none of them would know how he'd done it. Kanone smiled slightly. "Ah...you've only known him for a little while. He wasn't always such a stick in the mud. But I guess all things change." He sighed slightly and then smiled, "Yeah, he's always been good with animals. There's just something about him they like. And....who's Lani?" he asked, obviously not familiar with the bird "I haven't heard of that one...but then again I haven't seen him since he was 12 or so, either..." |
