Hikari smiled a little more and nuzzled a little closer to him when he responded to what she'd said. At least she knew why she loves Kyran, and what he'd told her made her feel all the more strongly. He saw her for her, not for her name or title or what he could get out of putting a ring on her finger. He made her feel like she was special for more of a reason than she had some little gem implanted into her forehead when she was little. This time when she moved she actually did crawl over into his lap and curled up against him, purring softly. Apparently, at least just for now, she did care what the rest of the world thought of this. The rest of the world didn't have to look if it offended them.
Celestine smiled again and laughed softly. "Yeah...I'm sure he's off with Hikari somewhere." He said simply as he continued to rub Nobu's head gently. He watched as Kyiri finally gave up on her damp fur and came over to curl up beside Nobu. "...Seems like little Kyiri has taken right up with you." He observed with a smile. "She can be a pest sometimes....but she means well...I think." he said with a soft chuckle. After a minute or two of freaking out because someone else had been there and she didn't even see her, she finally edged her way back to the surface again, poking only about half of her head back above water to stare up at the other girl. Slowly, the rest of her head followed her eyes out of the water and she just stared at Aamori curiously before swimming closer again and putting her hands on the edge of the rock to pull herself up a bit so that she could cross her arms on the rock and keep her fin in the water. Even then she didn't say anything, she just stared at her, moving from her eyes to her hair to her tail as if trying to decide what to make of her. "...You're not from here..." she said quietly, "You look kind of like my mom... only she didn't have those." she said, pointing to her horns. "Where are you from?" |
Kyran smiled again when Hikari moved into his lap. He held her close when he heard her purring and gently shut his eyes, nuzzling his head against hers lightly. He felt a whole lot better now that he'd been able to share his feelings with her. He didn't think he'd be caught in anymore awkward moments when he wanted to kiss her and couldn't; Like when they were dancing. Well, he guessed there would still be a few places where it'd be better not to show any signs of his affection. For now though, he really didn't care. He was quite content just the way things were.
Nobu didn't budge when Kyiri curled up next to him; He was far too comfortable. 'Yes, I don't doubt that. He's always with her.' He commented. '...The only time thus far that Kyiri's been a pest to me was when she started kneading me...' If he had his open, they would've rolled with that statement. Aamori watched when the girl poked her head out of the water and then came closer. She had her arms loosely wrapped around her legs and released them before letting her legs stretch out a little. She tilted her head to the side slightly when the girl pulled herself partially from the water and then gave a very faint sigh when she started looking her over. "...I'm from Kairava." She said quietly to answer her question. Hearing that she looked kind of like her mother, minus the horns gave her an slightly better idea of what all the girl had in her. Though, it was obvious to begin with that she had some water dragon in her; She assumed by her saying her mother had no horns that the girls mother must have been a half breed. |
Hikari was quite content as well sitting here with him. She nuzzled against him a little more and kept her eyes closed as she sat there. She didn't seem to have any intention of getting up anytime soon, but after a while the purring finally died away as she started to doze off. She found falling asleep to be pretty easy when wrapped up in his arms.
Celestine laughed softly at Nobu's comment and continued to rub behind his ears. "That just means she likes you...and she was trying to make herself comfortable. She does it to me all the time." he said with a smile, "Though...not on my face." he added with a soft laugh. He really seemed to laugh and smile more when he was around his little animal friends than the others. He placed his hand at the bridge of Nobu's nose and and ran it back over his head and then resumed rubbing his ear. The girl continued to look at her curiously and shimmied around the rock a little. "Where's that?" she asked, though she barely waited for an answer before she let go of the rock again. "Do you want to play with me?" she asked with a smile. She didn't have very many, if any, real friends around here, so she didn't gets play mates very often. "You look kind of sad." |
Kyran continued to sit quietly, not bothering to move much at all. Though his eyes did open up when he noticed that she'd stopped purring. He lifted his head up and then looked down at her for a moment, then realized that she'd fallen asleep. He smiled softly and continued to sit there for few minutes longer just watching her. He gave a small sigh and then took an arm from around her and slid it under her knees so he could pick her up while he got to his feet. He could probably sit out here with her like that for a while longer, but he was getting too comfortable and was afraid of falling asleep too. Once he was back to his feet he looked down to Hikari for a moment before turning around and starting to walk back towards the house. He made short work at least in getting to the bridge, he lingered for a moment and looked down at Hikari again. He smiled and then continued on heading for the house.
Nobu continued to lay there; quite comfortably. 'Well, I suppose I'd rather be kneaded because she likes me then to be bitten because she doesn't.' He commented then went quite for a short while. '...So where is everyone? I only remember seeing LaRae and Nanashi downstairs and Nero is around here somewhere... Kyiri made him angry earlier.' Aamori tilted her head to the side slightly when she heard her ask where Kairava was. She thought most people knew where the different territories where, it was pretty much common knowledge. She gave a soft sigh and looked back at the girl. "Kairava is the territory next to this one." She said quietly. She quirked a brow slightly when she heard her ask if she wanted to play and smiled faintly before looking away again when she heard her say she looked sad. Was it really that obvious? She gave a sigh and then glanced back over to the girl trying to ignore the comment about how she looked. "...So what do you want to play?" She asked just after reverting her voice back to it's echo-free state. |
Hikari didn't stir when Kyran picked her up, or even when he started walking with her. The only thing that she did he moved her was nuzzle against his chest again before she grew still once more.
Celestine smiled at Nobu again and nodded at what he said about he'd rather be clawed than bitten. When he asked where everyone else was he sighed. "...Well, Kanone and Sonia are still at...whoever's wedding party, I guess. I guess Kyran and Hikari went back there, too. Aamori was there as well, but...well she either left or wandered off somewhere. I'm sure she can find the house again just fine." he said simply. He raised an eyebrow when he said that Kyiri made Nero angry. "...He didn't hurt her, did he?" he asked simply. The girl smiled slightly at her. "Oh." she said simply when she said that was the territory next to this one. "I never really paid attention... I've never left here so it didn't matter." she said simply."Oh, I'm Yu, by the way." she said lightly. "What's your name? And how come your voice isn't echoing anymore? Isn't it supposed to do that?" She was a curious little thing to say the least, but she didn't seem to be quite as shy as most people like her might have been. She definitely couldn't be compared to Nanashi. "Do you want to swim with me? We can play water tag!" |
Kyran glanced down at her briefly when the house finally started to come into view. He gave a soft sigh when he reached the porch and stood staring at the door for a moment before his tail uncurled and slinked around to open it since his hands were currently full. He stepped into the house and shut the door behind him, his tail then curling right back up. He glanced over at the couch seeing LaRae and Nanashi asleep and half smiled before walking over to the other side of the room. He couldn't very well lay her down on a couch that was already taken up. Once he reached the open area near his blades he set his back to the wall and gently slid down until he was sitting again. He got as comfortable as he could with his back against the wall and then looked down at her giving a warm smile before leaning his head back and shutting his eyes gently. He wasn't really too tired, but if he was left alone long enough he'd probably give in and fall asleep himself.
Nobu looked back up at Celestine when he was telling him where everyone was. 'Ah..' He paused. 'Oh, and I don't think Nero hurt her. I'm not sure how many times they went back and forth but Nero had ended up tethering her to the porch with his belt by the time I got back. Then Kyiri started getting rather noisy and he put some sort of dome thing over her that blocked out sound.' He paused. '...I helped her get out and Nero just got up and went in the house. I don't think he's very happy with me helping her out... But it doesn't really matter I guess.' Aamori sighed heavily when Yu asked about the echo. She really kind of hoped it wasn't too noticeable but it wasn't like Yu couldn't know about it. She was part water dragon after all, so she wasn't likely to get in trouble for saying. "My names Aamori. It's nice to meet you, Yu." She paused. "My voice only echo's sometimes. I try to hide it but sometimes it just can't be helped." She said quietly. "It's supposed to echo, naturally. But since I'm away from Kairava I'm supposed to try and hide it." She commented before turning and sliding down from the boulder. She took a few steps away from the edge and then slipped her skort off again and set it off to the side. She knelt down to take her sandals off too, but once she got down to her calves she remembered that she'd already taken them off. She stood up and shook her head lightly half laughing at herself. She then walked back over to the waters edge and jumped in; Staying under the water for a few moments before surfacing and looking over at Yu. "I have a feeling you'll have an advantage over me if we play tag." She said with a small chuckle. |
Celestine just shook his head at what Nobu told him. "...I suppose he's too big a man to be caught petting a cat." he said simply. He sighed softly and yawned before looking back down to Nobu again, "...I'm going to change into something a little easier to sleep in." he told him as he placed his hand under his chin and lifted his head off of his leg before sliding off the bed. He walked over to a dresser and dug out a pale green robe and then left the room to go to the bathroom. He returned only a few minutes later with the clothes that he'd been wearing draped over his arm and the one that he'd just gotten out wrapped tightly around him and tied in the front. Sure it probably looked like a dress on him, but he didn't really care, that was pretty much the usual sleepwear around here. He just went to fold his clothes and lay them on the dresser, apparently intending to just put them back on tomorrow. It wasn't like they were really all that dirty. Besides they were probably about the only other thing that he had that would fit.
Yu tilted her head slightly at what Aamori said about her voice. "That's kinda strange." she said simply, but she didn't ask any more questions about it. She smiled brightly when Aamori got into the water with her and then tilted her head when she said that she would have an advantage if they played tag. "How come?" she asked, but then she just dove under water and swam close to Aamori's legs before resurfacing right in front of her. "How come you still have legs?" She asked, tilting her head, "Aren't your legs supposed to do this?" she asked as she flipped over and brought her fin out of the water. She'd obviously never met another water dragon, so she thought they were all supposed to be just like her mother. "My mom's did, what's wrong with yours?" she said after she straightened herself up again. |
Nobu just laid there on the bed after Celestine got up and dug around in the dresser. He waited until Celestine had left the room to move and sprawl out on the bed; While being sure not to crush Kyiri. He lifted his head slightly when he came back into the room then laid his head right back down. 'You know, I think you're the first I've met that doesn't change clothes in front of me.' He commented.
Aamori smiled and shook her head lightly when Yu asked why she still had legs and then showed her fin. "My legs don't change like yours do." She said lightly. "There isn't anything wrong with mine. I'm a pure blooded water dragon, it's not natural for my legs to change like that." She paused and smiled softly. "Though, I do think it's pretty cool that your legs change like that." She added. "...So do you still want to play tag?" |
Celestine looked back over to Nobu and shook his head. "...I just thought I would spare you the sight." he said simply as he went to crawl back into the bed, tossing the damp towel out into the floor. He looked at Nobu and smiled slightly, "How about giving me some bed? I know I'm small but i do like to stretch out a bit." he said with a soft laugh as he pushed Nobu back over to the side. He sighed and finally snuggled under the blankets, resting on his side with his head on the pillow. He lay there for a moment and then got up again and went over to open the window before coming back to crawl into the bed the way that he had been before.
Yu blinked again and tilted her head slightly. "...Pure blood?" Yet again, she looked confused, but she shook it off when Aamori asked if she still wanted to play tag. She smiled and then pushed her arm. "You're it!!" she said quickly before slipping over and swimming away from her quickly, remaining under the water as she sped toward the waterfall. |
Nobu continued to lay there without moving at least until Celestine came to reclaim some of the bed. He shifted a little and got comfortable again. He was used to sharing a bed though nine times out of ten he ended up asleep on the other person in the bed. '...I highly doubt that you have anything I haven't seen. And it really doesn't bother me. You should be like Kyran and Minako and just act like I'm not even here.' He lifted his head slightly when Celestine got up from the bed and and went to open the window. He laid right back down once Celestine got back in bed. 'I thought you were going to spend the night on the roof?' He'd nearly forgotten that he'd heard him say that, and he didn't remember until he saw Celestine go to open the window.
Aamori quirked a brow slightly when she realized that Yu obviously didn't know what she meant when she said 'pure blood'. She was just about to open her mouth to explain when Yu pushed on her arm and told her that she was it. Her mouth just hung open for a moment before she turned and watched as Yu swam off. She wasn't prepared for the game to start so suddenly. "Oh! She's getting away!" She said before she slipped under the water and began to swim after her. She swam with her legs and tail pinned together tightly, almost like she'd had a fin. She'd never tested her own speed against someone with one fin before, so she wasn't sure how she'd manage. She hurried after her, actually getting pretty close to her with an out stretched arm trying to tag her. |
Celestine sighed softly. "It's a little harder to pretend you're not here when I know you can see and understand my just like anyone else." he said simply, "I just don't like changing in front of people, even if they walk on all fours." He turned his head slightly and sighed, "That was if you were run outside... I have trouble sleeping when I'm closed in... of course here I have trouble sleeping anyway, so it really doesn't matter." He tried to snuggle into the blanket a little more and sighed, closing his eyes. He shifted his foot and then jumped. "AH!" he sat up quickly and looked down at Kyiri. "Kyiri, that's my foot, not a toy!" he said before kicking the blanket over her. Apparently just because his foot was covered with a blanket she thought it was alright to play with.
Yu glanced behind her and grinned when she saw Aamori right behind her. She was about to run out of water, so she quickly veered to the side and darted off in another direction. She was pretty fast under water, even more so when she kept her arms pressed tightly to her sides. She was as fast as the actual fish in his lake, which kept scattering to get out of her way. She did have one definite advantage: she could breathe just fine underwater, so she didn't need to come up for air. |
Nobu tilted his head to the side slighty. 'I'm surprisingly touched that you'd even consider me a person. Most people think I'm just some animal... Then again... Not everyone knows I can talk and think intelligently.' He nuzzled his head against the bed for a moment but startled pretty easily when Celestine jumped. He lifted up his head and looked from Celestine over to Kyiri and then just lowered his head again. At times like this he was glad he was animal and didn't have feet his that Kyiri could play with.
Aamori's eyes widened slightly when saw how quickly Yu changed direction. She was going to turn to chase after her but had to resurface for air. She quickly took her breath and smirked slightly as she dove back under to chase after her again. It took her a moment but she managed to catch up to her again. Only this time she when she extended her hand it was glowing pale blue. She'd remembered the last time she was playing chase in the lake and no stipulations had been put on the game, so why not. She created a small bubble at the palm of her hand and then shot it after Yu; As it sailed through the water it slowly grew in size and then latched onto Yu, containing her for a moment. She slowed down slightly and came to a stop as she reached the large bubble. She just smiled and stuck her hand through it tagging Yu on the shoulder. Then as she pulled her hand back the bubble suddenly popped. She certainly couldn't breath underwater so since she could use magic easily she used it to her advantage. She turned and was just about to swim off but had to swim up again. She resurfaced and took another breath but lingered there for a moment before giving a heavy sigh. She was starting to think this wasn't going to be any fun for her because Yu would be able to just tag her when she had to come up for air. |
Celestine laughed softly at Kyiri wigging around under the blanket and then rolled over to face Nobu. "...Well... I'm going to try to sleep." he said simply. He reached over to rub Nobu's ears one more time and then closed his eyes. He sighed softly when he felt Kyiri's paws walking around on the pillow and opened one eye, glancing up at her. "...Kyiri... go to sleep." he said simply. He nearly rolled his eyes when she curled up practically on his head, but he just closed his eyes again. Silly kitten...
Yu blinked when she realized that she couldn't go anywhere in the water anymore. Her eyes latched onto Aamori when she stopped in front of her and she tilted her head slightly. When Aamori tagged her shoulder she blinked and just floated there as she watched her got up for air. After she realized that she was just floating there she resurfaced as well and looked at her. "Don't you want to play anymore?" she asked, tilting her head slightly. |
Nobu lifted his head slightly when Celestine rolled over and then laid it down again after hearing he was going to try to sleep. He nuzzled his head against the bed again once Celestine was done rubbing behind his ear and tried to sleep a little himself.
Aamori looked at Yu when she resurfaced and gave a soft sigh. "I don't mind playing." She paused. "I just realized how hard it is going to be with me constantly having to come up for air." She said quietly. "...I kind of envy you for the fact you don't need to resurface for air like me." She added lastly. "I do apologize." She said as she swam back towards the boulder that she'd been sitting on earlier. When she reached it she glanced up at the sky for a second, finally realizing just how late it was getting. She then looked back over to Yu. "...It's getting late, shouldn't you be heading home soon?" |
Celestine lay there silently for a few moments but after a short amount of time he opened his eyes again and looked at Nobu. He couldn't even get to sleep for the mere prospect that he was going to start dreaming again. Finally, he moved closer to Nobu and nuzzled his head against him lightly before wrapping one arm around him like he was some kind of security blanket. He didn't ask him for help this time, but it was pretty clear that he wanted it...or needed it. Once he was comfortable again he just closed his eyes and tried again to get back to sleep. You'd think as tired as he was that it wouldn't be so hard.
Yu sighed quietly and watched Aamori swim back over to where she'd been sitting. "...How come no one else can do anything that I can do?" she asked, sounding almost miserable. That made it so hard to play with people. No one around here ever wanted to play with her because she was different than the rest of them, and they especially wouldn't get roped into playing any water games with her. She sighed and started over to the shore herself, though she just rolled over to float on her back while looking up at the sky. "...Shouldn't you?" she asked simply, "No one cares, I stay out here all the time. Dad knows where I am." |
Nobu shifted slightly when he felt Celestine nuzzle against him and then wrap his arm around him. He went still for a moment and then relaxed all together. He could tell that Celestine wanted his help, and he didn't mind keeping the bad dreams at bay so he could sleep. It took him a moment but he managed to get focused easily enough. He was prepared, he just had to wait for Celestine to fall asleep.
Aamori glanced back to Yu while she was still in the water. "Don't sound so down about it, Yu." She paused. "You're just really talented in the water. If I could learn to use my magic to aid me in breathing under the water then by all means I'd play tag with you some more." It was possible to learn to do that, she just hadn't reached that level of her training yet. She felt bad though, for not being able to play tag with Yu. But there was just no way she'd be able to compete with the girls abilities in the water at this stage of her training. She gave a heavy sigh. "I can't really go home." She paused. "Kairava is a little far of a walk from here." She said with a faint smile. "...Well... If your Father knows where you are... Then I guess it's no big deal." She said quietly. Most children in Kairava had curfews, regardless of who they were. She was just so used to how things were back home that she thought Yu should've been heading home. Not to mention it wasn't always safe for children to be out at night away from the towns. |
It took him a little while, but Celestine did finally manage to fall asleep again while cuddled against Nobu's fur. He was really starting to wish he could keep this canine, but he knew that wasn't possible. All he could do was enjoy him and the peaceful sleep while he was here.
Yu just looked at Aamori and sighed softly. "...It's not talent, I was just born like this." she said simply. "How come you can't do anything I do? My mom could do it and she was a water dragon." she said simply. Obviously, she'd never been told much of anything about water dragons,s o she was blissfully ignorant to the fact that she was not only a mix of two different clans but of two different species. "And if you can't go home,t hen where are you going? You can't spend the night out here, can you?" |
Aamori gave a small sigh. "In my eyes it's a talent." She said quietly. "Your Mother could do everything you can?" She paused and shook her head lightly. "No water dragon I've ever met can do the things you do without the aid of magic. Even then, they still can't change their legs and tail into a fin." She said with a slight nod. She glanced away briefly and looked back up to the sky. "...I've been traveling with a few others. To my knowledge some of them were at that party and the others are well, staying at Sonia's." She said quietly. "And I suppose if I wanted to, I could spend the night out here..."

Yu looked back to Aamori again and tilted her head slightly again. "...What I do just happens, when I'm in the water I grow a fin, when I get out, it goes away. How come you've never met anyone that can do that? Aren't all of you supposed to be able to? I don't get it." she said simply. "And why would you want to spend the night out here? It's not too comfortable. Oh hey, since you're staying with Sonia, I guess that means you know Kanone. Did you see his cousin?? I saw him earlier. I haven't seen him in a long time." If nothing else...she certainly could talk a lot.

Aamori shook her head slightly. "Water dragons can't grow fins." She said simply. "You must have something else in you other then a water dragon that gives you that ability." She paused and stared blankly at Yu for a moment. Goodness that girl asks a lot questions. "...You mean Celestine? Yes." She said shortly. Then turned back to the boulder and pulled herself up onto it and sat down. Then she gathered her hair in front of her and started to wring it out.

Yu blinked when she said that she must have something else in her. "Like what? I'll ask dad again." she said simply. She finally straightened herself up and then put her arms back on the rock again, looking up at Aamori. "He's really pretty, isn't he? I like him a lot, but he doesn't talk much. I tried to talk to him when we were little and he acted like he didn't even remember me." She finally took a pause to hail herself out of the water again and up onto the rock next to Aamori. As soon as she was no longer mostly in the water her fin separated and returned to being normal legs and a tail. "I like you too, you're fun to talk to. You don't take a lot either though. Can we be friends anyway? Maybe we can try playing something different next time."

Aamori just gave a sigh when Yu asked her question then said she'd just ask her Dad. She couldn't help thinking it was silly to ask her if she could just ask her dad. When she started talking about Celestine she just looked away and gave a slight nod of her head. She looked back and watched as Yu got up onto the rock then sat next to her and just stared in awe for a moment while Yu's fin changed back. She just offered a smile when Yu then said that she liked her and asked if they could be friends. "Sure." She paused. "I don't think I'll be able to play again right away. I've still got some traveling to do. But I suppose I could come back once I've mastered being able to breathe underwater and challenge you to another game of tag." She said lightly before tossing her slightly damp hair back over her shoulder. It was so hard sometimes to get her hair to dry, there was just too much of it and it was thick too. She gave another soft smile and then started to stand up on top of the boulder. "...Well... I think I'm going to head back now." She said quietly as she started to move to step off the boulder. She didn't get very far and before she could catch herself she'd already slipped right off the rock. She fell backwards; Straight for a patch of those damned thorny stemmed flowers. Her butt just happened to land right on top of them; Crushing them completely before she fell backwards into the water. At a time like this she really hated that her skin could be like a sponge. When she absorbed too much water her skin ended up incredibly soft. So her feet just had no traction what so ever on that rock; Matched up with her usual klutziness something like this was bound to happen. She didn't come up from the water right away, only because it burned like hell and she hoped the water could help that. She finally resurfaced and had a grumpy look on her face before moving back over to the bank and climbing out of the water. She didn't say a word and walked over to her skort and picked it up with her tail.

Yu smiled brightly when she said that they could be friends and nodded when she said that she still had some traveling to do. She half wondered where they were going, but she already knew she wouldn't know a place by name if she was told, so she for once didn't ask. "Okay, that sounds fun!" she said brightly when she said that she would come back and challenge her again. "Okay." she said again when she said that she was going to go. She sat back a little, just preparing to get to her own feel when Aamori slipped and she watched as she fell onto the bank and then into the water. "...Ow..." she started to worry when she didn't come up right away, but right about the time that she moved to the edge of the rock, she crawled out into the bank. She blinked and glanced back over to the crushed flowers before looking back to her again. "Are you okay?" she asked as she slid off of the rock and went to go throw her dress back on really fast before putting on her undies again. She walked over to Aamori and looked down at her rear end. "Um...don't you think you need to get those out?"

Aamori took her skort from her tail and stared down at it for a moment before giving a heavy sigh. She was trying her best to ignore the fact that the thorns were hurting her, and the idea of trying to bend over to put the skort on... Then having to wear it until she could get the thorns from her rear; only made it more difficult to ignore. She turned slightly to look down at Yu when she came over and spoke about getting the thorns out. "...I'm alright." She said quietly, though she was lying through her teeth. "...I'll get someone I'm traveling with to help me remove them." She said quietly. "I'll be fine until then, no worries." She said quietly while forcing a slight smile. Just having the thorns in her hand earlier made her cry and she probably had twice as many in her butt right now. She wasn't sure exactly what was keeping her from just dropping to the ground and crying; But she assumed it was because she didn't want to feel anymore embarrassed in front of Yu. She turned back towards the rock she'd been on and wandered back over carefully before picking up her sandals with her tail and then taking them in her hands. She gave another heavy sigh; Even walking hurt. Why did she have to be so klutzy on her feet on top of having terrible luck? As if tonight hadn't been bad enough, she had to go and have this happen. She just knew that the others were going to laugh at her when they found out. She shook her head lightly and then started to walk; Headed back towards the bridge. She paused and glanced back to Yu. "Well... I'm headed back now. I'll see you around, Yu." She said with slight nod before turing back around and continuing to walk. Though she was moving a bit slower then she wanted to and she could only hope that her hair would be able to hide her back side while she held her skort and sandals in front of her.

Yu watched Aamori pick up her sandals and then remembered that she still needed to retrieve her own. She sighed and went back to slip them on, though she didn't buckle them just yet. She walked back over to Aamori and nodded when she said she was going now. "Okay... I'm going to go home too." It wasn't much fun out here by yourself. She walked beside Aamori for a few minutes then reached over and hugged her around the middle tightly. "Bye bye.
