Nero glanced beside him when he noticed that Nobu had walked up beside him. He quirked a brow slightly, a bit surprised that Nobu was up on Hikari's back without being told to come; And without anyone's help no less. He shook his head lightly and then looked over to Aamori when he touched down. His eyes traveled down to Nanashi, who still hadn't gotten himself in gear. He rolled his eyes slightly when he saw that Hikari had to coax him into getting up onto her back. He turned his attention away once Nanashi finally got onto her back and then gave a sigh when Hikari opened her wings. He reached over with his free hand and took a slight hold of Nobu just because he was the only one, other then LaRae who couldn't very well hold on for the lift off. He was still holding onto the weapons too, so he wasn't bothering to make sure LaRae stayed put. If she slid off during the lift it was no skin off his back. He didn't have any trouble keeping himself or Nobu on her back once she lifted off and broke through some of the branches. However he had watched LaRae's body slide away from him a little bit while Hikari got up and into the air. Her body hadn't slide off yet but she had moved far enough away from him now that if she did start slipping off he wasn't going to bother trying to grab her; Not that he wanted to anyway.
Aamori had knelt down once she touched down and shut her wings tightly. Then she glanced over briefly when Nanashi knelt down beside her. At least it didn't take him too long to get onto Hikari's back. Her eyes shifted ahead when she heard Hikari tell them to hold on. She gave a soft sigh and made her best attempt to hold on when Hikari opened her wings. She didn't have very much trouble keeping herself where she was during the lift, she'd only lost her balance once but thankfully that only resulted in her sitting down instead of kneeling. |
Nanashi gently curled his fingers into the fur on Hikari's back as she started to take off. He hadn't understood a word that Hikari said, but he at least had sense enough to know that he needed to hold on. He managed to stay still while she lifted off through the trees, but he did notice LaRae slipping and Nero not doing a thing about her. He tried to crawl around Aamori, but he really didn't have the room to do so. He just crouched down looking ready to spring at any second as he watched LaRae, trying to make sure that she didn't actually slide off. He still had a major headache, but he was pretty sure that he could at least manage catching LaRae if she fell. He didn't really expect Nero to even try. At least he was holding onto Nobu.
Hikari tucked her feet up under her as she started to fly back toward the village, raising herself a bit higher into the air to get away from the trees and to where she could easily get over the mountain. She was a fast flyer in her true form, and much stronger so the wing didn't really bother her. Most dragons only took on this worm when they had to fly very long distances in a short period of time since they could definitely cover more ground a lot faster that way. If she tried she could probably nearly catch up to Kyran before he got to the village, though with he head start that he'd gotten, she somehow doubted that she would if he was trying to fly fast. |
Kyran continued to fly at his fastest, making what felt like quick work of passing over the village from before, then the mountain. He'd managed to make it to the village in just a fourth of the time it took them to walk the same distance. He started to slow his pace once he got close enough to village and then he started to descend once he saw Marius' house. He touched down as gently as he possibly could, dropping down to one knee for a moment as his wings closed behind him. They were throbbing so badly right now from flying like that and he was clearly worn out. He probably looked ready to just drop at any moment. He took a deep breath and then glanced down at Celestine briefly before he stood up straight again. He only hoped that he had gotten him here fast enough. He shifted Celestine in his arms for a moment before walking over to the porch and stepping up onto it. His tail uncurled and he used it to knock against the door since his hands were full. He really hoped that Marius was here, otherwise he'd have to take Celestine to Sonia.
Nero relaxed his grip on Nobu once Hikari had gotten up higher and at a steady pace. He still hadn't let go of the canine, and he still had a firm grip on the weapons that he was holding. He had turned his attention ahead of him, rather then focusing on anything else around him. Though, he looked over at LaRae when he caught her body sliding again from the corner of his eye. He heaved a heavy sigh and then looked away. She hadn't been sliding that much so he hadn't expected her to go anywhere. But when he glanced back over to check on her she wasn't there anymore. His eyes widened for only a second when he realized that she must have slipped right off, then he just shook his head and continued to sit there. In that brief moment that Nero had looked away she had indeed slipped right off of Hikari's back. She was still unconscious and now falling down towards the ground at pretty decent rate. If she went unnoticed and no one caught her she'd more than likely hit the ground pretty hard. Aamori had relaxed a little once they were in the air and headed back. She was glad that Hikari had offered to do this, it was definitely going to cut the travel time shorter. She hadn't really been paying attention to anything other then holding onto the swallow and making sure that she didn't fall off. She happened to look up just as LaRae slipped off of Hikari. She choked on her breath once she couldn't see LaRae anymore. She wanted to get up and go after her but she didn't budge an inch. She knew she couldn't fly well by herself and there was no way she'd be able to carry LaRae. |
Celestine still wasn't doing any better. His already pale face looked almost white, and his skin was rather cool to the touch. At least he was still breathing, but that was about all that he was doing. He still hadn't closed his eyes and now he couldn't even make his eyelids move. His eyes were starting to dry out pretty badly, especially after all of the wind that had hit them but there wasn't a lot that he could do about it.
Marius was indeed at home. He opened the door moments after Kyran had knocked and looked out at him. It didn't take him but a second to see Celestine. The blood on his clothes startled him but the lifeless look in his eyes scared him even more. "Bring him inside." he said quickly as he backed away from the door to allow him entrance. He closed the door once Kyran was inside and then started down the hallway, motioning with his hand for Kyran to follow. He opened a door about halfway down the hall and stepped inside. This was just a small guest room, but it had a bed big enough that it could easily fit two people. "Put him on the bed..." he said quietly. Nanashi was watching LaRae closely since he couldn't actually get around Aamori to get a hold of her. He noticed her slip a little and opened his mouth to say something to Nero, but before he even got the words out she'd already fallen off. He gasped, but he wasted no time diving off of Hikari's back after her, shifting his wings a little so that he was plunging down after her. He managed to grab onto her waist just before she reached the tree line and opened his wings, flapping hard to turn himself around. At times like these, he was glad that he flew so many places because if he wasn't used to flying he probably would have crashed into the trees right with her. He sighed heavily as he turned around and started flying after Hikari again. Hikari barely felt when LaRae slipped off, but she id feel when Nanashi kicked against her side to push himself off faster. she came to a screeching halt int he air, bunching herself up a bit before she turned and made a swooping dive to go after the two of them. She cried out in alarm when she thought they were going to slam into the trees, but she had to swoop away from them quickly herself to avoid crashing into them. She breathed a sigh of relief when she saw that Nanashi had her and turned back around so that she was going the right way again as she slowed down her flight to let Nanashi catch up with her again. She glanced back to Nero and gave him a look along with several quiet grumbles that he could probably easily pick up as her chewing him out for not taking better care of her after he'd taken her off of her hands. |
Kyran was extremely relieved to see Marius was home. He just stared at him for a moment once the door was opened, he was speechless. Well, more like he didn't know where to start. He gave a slight nod when he said to bring him inside and then stepped into the house once Marius had stepped aside. He looked down at Celestine for a moment, he didn't like seeing him like this and really wished that he'd been able to get him here sooner then he already had. He glanced up when Marius started past him and then followed when he motioned him on. He followed him into the room and then walked over to the bed just as he was told to set him down on the bed. He set Celestine down gently on the bed and then took a couple steps back while his arms dropped down to his sides loosely. He was quiet for a moment before looking back to Marius. "...Is there anything that you can do?" He asked quietly.
Nero jerked forward when Hikari stopped so suddenly. He had to throw his hand with the weapons out in front of him just to keep himself from falling forward into her. He sat back up straight once she finished swooping around. He just stared at her for a moment when she looked back at him. He shook his head and looked away obviously choosing to ignore her now rather then listen to more of her chewing him out. Aamori fell flat on her face when Hikari stopped and then she tried to sit herself back up only to fall backwards when she started swooping around. She was finally able to get herself back up right once Hikari had gotten turned back around the right way and was flying slower. She looked up when she saw that Hikari had looked back and started on Nero about not taking better care of LaRae. She gave a sigh and glanced around looking for Nanashi and LaRae. |
Marius looked over to Kyran and just walked over to the bed and sat down on the edge. He placed his hand on Celestine's forehead and then ran his hand down over his eyes, pushing his lids closed. He then looked down to the area where he had been injured and pulled up his shirt, glad to see that the wounds has already been taken care of. "...No." he said quietly. "...I can being the healer here, but it would do little good. There is no cure for the poison that he suffers from." He gently placed his hand on Celestine's cheek and ran his fingers back through his hair. He looked back to Kyran and nodded toward a chair in the corner of the room near the door. "...Sit down...you look exhausted." he said softly, "...Thank you for bringing him to me..." He turned his attention beck to Celestine again with a rather sad expression on his face. He had figured out as well as the others had after what Celestine was telling them that it was a hydra that they were going to face. He had gathered that when he was told that the serpent that he'd seen had eyes like Celestine's. "...What happened?" he asked softly. He knew that Celestine was smart enough not to let the thing bite him, but he guessed that something else must have happened while they were out as well.
Nanashi caught up with Hikari again easily enough and touched down on her back again, though he nearly lost his balance when he landed on her. He crouched down quickly and kept his arms wrapped firmly around LaRae's waist. He sighed softly and closed his eyes, resting his head on top of hers. Hikari looked back again when she felt Nanashi land on him and made a soft almost purring nose to ask if he was alright. She realized that Nero wasn't listening to her anyway so she just turned back and picked up speed again, resuming her fight toward the village again. she never did get an answer from Nanashi but he didn't look hurt so she guessed he was okay. Nanashi looked at Hikari blankly. He knew that she was saying something but he couldn't understand her at all. He just sighed and closed his eyes again, curling one of his hands into her fur again to hang on. |
Kyran's ears lowered slightly when he heard that there was nothing he could do, along with there being no cure. He continued to stand there for a moment until Marius told him to sit down. He glanced back over at the chair and just stared at it for a moment. He was half afraid to sit down, if he did, he didn't see himself getting up for a little while. He reluctantly walked over to the chair and sat down anyway. He sat at the edge of the chair, leaning over slightly with his arms rested against his knees. He sighed softly hearing his question. He looked back over to Marius for a moment. "...He saved Aamori from getting attacked by the hydra's tail." He paused. "Then the hydra got a hold of him right after he got back to his feet." He said quietly. "...That's the shortest answer, I suppose." He gave a sigh and then lowered his eyes. "...Do you think he's going to survive this?" He asked quietly.
Nero glanced back briefly when Nanashi touched down again and with LaRae. He shook his head lightly seeing that he'd saved her from that fall that probably could've killed her. That now made the second time that damn girl had survived something that should have killed her. Pay backs were obviously going to be difficult while the rest of the group was around. Aamori was relieved to see Nanashi come back and with LaRae. She just looked over at him, then and down to LaRae and smiled weakly before trying to relax a little. |
Marius looked back over to Kyran as he gave the short explanation and then nodded. "...I see..." he said softly. He shook his head slightly when Kyran asked if he thought that Celestine would survive. "...I couldn't say..." he said quietly, "...Right now...if he gets any worse...I fear not." he said quietly, "...His biological grandfather was a hydra... so he has some natural immunity to the poison but...it just depends on how much his system can handle." he said quietly. He carefully combed his fingers back through Celestine's hair again and then placed his hand against his cheek. "...He's cold..." he muttered quietly. He finally stood up and gathered the comforter from the end of the bed to cover him with. He ran his hand along his cheek again for a moment before he turned toward the door. "...I will be back in a minute." He said softly before he started for the door and slipped into the hallway again.
Celestine was just listening to what they were talking about. He was relieved to herd Marius's voice and feel him touching him, though he wasn't too thrilled about not being able to see him. When he heard him say that he would be right back he tried to speak to ask him to stay but all he could do was gasp quietly, which only caused him to cough slightly. Nanashi looked over to Aamori when she smiled at him and returned the weak smile before he rested his head on LaRae's again and then closed his eyes. He was just glad that he'd managed to catch her in time before she was impaled on a tree or something. Hikari just sighed heavily as she continued to hurry over the mountain and finally started to descend a little. She could see the village nearby, but she didn't want to land int he middle of it like this. She finally came down in the woods near the village, thankful that the trees weren't growing so thick here. She skidded a little as she tried to land and lowered her head just as she collided with a tree. Well at least she wasn't skidding very fast when she hit, she just came to a fast stop and bunched herself up slightly again. She sighed and flattened out on the ground, again grumbling about all of the trees while she waited for everyone to get off. |
Kyran didnt' bother lifting his eyes while he listened to Marius. He still didn't like how this situation was. Hearing about Celestine's biological grandfather helped explain why Celestine was even still alive at the moment. He could only hope that he wouldn't get any worse. He lifted his eyes from the floor when he heard Marius say that he'd be back in a minute. He gave a slight nod and watched as he left the room. He then glanced over at Celestine when he heard him cough and gave a soft sigh. "...Just focus on getting through this." He said quietly.
Nero jerked forward again once Hikari went to land and ended up colliding with a tree. He straightened himself up once she flattened herself out and then stood up after releasing Nobu. He kept his grip on the weapons and then jumped down from Hikari's back, crouching once he hit the ground. Once he stood back up he turned slightly to look up waiting on the others. Nobu waited until Nero finally let him go to stand up again. He stretched a little before following after Nero's lead and jumping down from her back. He made it down easily enough but wobbled from the landing once he started to walk a couple steps. He was now making a mental note not to carelessly jump down off any of their backs when they were in their dragon forms. Aamori fell over face first yet again when Hikari skidded across the ground while landing. She gave a heavy sigh as she pushed herself back up again. She watched as Nero, then Nobu jumped down from Hikari's back. She started to get to her feet and glanced over to Nanashi briefly before moving over to see how far down she'd have to jump. She didn't think she'd be able to land as easily as Nero had so she opened her wings before she jumped in an attempt to make landing a little easier. Her wings aided her little and she hit the ground rather hard, getting a sharp jolt of pain through her leg when she hit the ground with it. She stood up straight and then started to move away from Hikari. As soon as she put weight down on that leg she felt the jolt of pain again and wound up with a slight limp. |
Celestine just took a few deep breaths to try to get his breathing back under control and then relaxed again after he heard Kyran's voice. He was trying to just relax and concentrate on getting better and breathing and all of that. He just felt more comfortable when someone was near him. He was still conscious, though his head ached and he looked like he was sleeping; he could tell when someone was near him or not.
Marius just made his way back to the kitchen and got down a glass. He sighed and he placed his hands against the counter and lowered his head slightly. He'd had a bad feeling that something was going to happed to someone, he'd just hoped that it wouldn't be Celestine. He shook his head and finally filled the glass with ice and cold water before he returned to the bedroom. "Here." he said softly, holding the glass out to Kyran. He had a feeling after flying all that way he could definitely use some rest and he could imagine that he was probably really thirsty. Once he'd handed off the water he walked right back over to the bed and sat down beside Celestine again. There was another chair in the room, but he just wanted to stay close to him. Nanashi would have head butted Aamori had she not fallen before he lost his balance when Hikari stopped. He sighed softly and watched as the others got down and then gathered LaRae into his arms before he slipped off of Hikari's back and back onto the ground, crouching slightly as he landed. He straightened himself up and then took a few steps away from her before he turned back around to look at her again, though he had to look away again quickly. Hikari waited until all of the weight was off of her back before she finally changed back. Her entire body started to shine again as it shrank and retook the humanoid form that she'd had before. When the shine faded she was still laying on the ground on her face just the way she'd been before she changed forms. After a second she sat up and rubbed her head. "Ow..." she muttered before she got to her feet and shook her head. She glanced over to Nanashi for a moment and half smiled, "I can take her again if you want." she offered. She was already pretty worn out from carrying her back through the woods and from carrying everyone back here, but she imagined that Nanashi probably still wasn't feeling quite up to par. Nanashi shook his head and shifted LaRae's weight a little in his arms. "No...I've got her." he said quietly. His throat still hurt a little so he was trying not to talk a whole lot. |
Kyran didn't lift his eyes again until he heard Marius come back into the room. He looked up and over to the glass of water being handed to him. He sat up a little straighter in the chair and then reached to take the glass. "...Thanks." He said quietly while holding the glass with both hands. He had been trying not to think about how tired he was, let alone the fact that he was thirsty and even a bit hungry after all that flying. He stared at the glass for a moment before finally giving in and taking a few sips of the water.
Nero only stood there long enough for the others to get down, he'd turned away once Hikari started to change back to her humanistic form. He gave a sigh before walking over to her holding out her bow to her. He waited until she took it to turn around and start walking back towards the village without a word. Aamori glanced over towards Hikari once she had changed back to her humanistic form. She then noticed Nero had handed off the bow and was starting to walk back towards the village. She started to follow after him even if her leg was bothering her when she put pressure on it. She was still worried about Celestine and wanted to know how he was, so she was ignoring any pain she was feeling. She was pretty sure it'd just go away on it's own after a little while. Nobu watched then Nero started to leave and then looked as Aamori passed by. He noticed the way she was limping and then started after her. He got next to her and walked beside her. |
"You're welcome." Marius responded quietly before he resumed running his fingers over Celestine's bangs. "You can go rest, Kyran. You've done what you can. Take care of yourself now." he said gently. "I will stay with him." Kyran was free to wander the house to find himself somewhere to rest or he could stay there. It really didn't matter to him, he just wanted him to be comfortable while he was here. Celestine was much better off resting here than being carried around somewhere. At least here he could relax and rest without worrying about anything. He was also glad that Kyran brought him here instead of taking him to Sonia. That woman probably would have stressed him out even more with the fuss that she would have caused at the mere sight of him.
Hikari looked up to Nero when he handed the bow back to her and then took it from him and draped it back over her shoulder. She looked at Aamori and tilted her head slightly when she saw her limping. She started after her quickly and came up to walk on the opposite side of her from where Nobu was. "Are you alright Aamori? What did you do to your leg?" she asked softly. She hadn't really noticed her limping before she got down. Nanashi just turned after the others had started off and started walking after them quietly. He sighed softly as he looked down to LaRae. At least he wasn't going to have to walk too terribly far. He still wasn't feeling too great, but he wasn't sick enough to complain about it to anyone else. |
Kyran glanced up from the glass when Marius told him he could go rest. He gave a slight sigh and then stood up and smiled weakly. "...I can't rest just yet." He paused. "The others should be on their way back.." He said quietly. He wasn't sure how long it was going to take them to get back, and he wasn't sure if they'd decided to walk or fly. But he did know he didn't want to relax and rest while they were still on their way here. "I doubt you'll need me for anything, but I think I'm going to sit on the porch." He then started over to the door and slipped out into the hallway. He still had the glass of water in his hand and took another sip of it while he headed for the front door. He paused at the door long enough to open it and exit the house quietly. He then moved down the steps a little and sat down much the same way he had been sitting in the chair.
Aamori glanced down to her side for a moment when she noticed Nobu had come up beside her. She smiled weakly and patted the top of his head. She lifted her eyes and the weak smile faded as she looked over to Hikari. She just stared at her for a moment before nodding her head slightly. She thought she'd be alright anyway. She glanced down for a moment to watch how she walking and then gave a soft sigh as she started to open her mouth and nothing came out, again. |
Marius nodded to Kyran again as he glanced over to him. "Alright..." he said softly. "...You are all welcome to stay here as long as you need." He told him as he left. For once he was glad that he lived alone in such a big house. He had several bedrooms, but few people actually came to stay overnight. Once Kyran was out of the room he looked back down to Celestine again and let his hand rest against his cool cheek. "...You'll be alright, Celestine... Don't worry... Just rest, everything will be alright." he said softly. He finally reached down to his bag and carefully lifted it over his head and slipped the strap out from under him and then set the bag off in the corner of the room.
Hikari looked at at Aamori sympathetically and then moved a little closer to her, wrapping one arm around her waist as she fell in step with her. "It's alright, Aamori..." she said quietly. She had noticed that the poor girl hadn't said a word since what happened. She was trying to help her lean against her while she walked so that she didn't have to put so much weight on her other leg. "Would it help you if I piggybacked you the rest of the way?" she offered softly. "I don't mind, you could give your leg a rest. It's not that far." |
Kyran sat with his arms rested against his knees, with his head tilted down. He was just barely holding onto the top of the glass of water with his fingers. He gave a heavy sigh while he continued to sit there. He lifted his head for a moment and took a drink of the water, then set the glass down on the porch beside him. He was just thinking, mostly about these guardians that they were apparently going to be fighting along the way. He had kind of hoped that a guardian like Nerian was just a one time deal, but after having to deal with that hydra he was starting to think there might be a guardian for every relic. If that was the case, could they possibly get any worse then the hydra? He glanced around a little and then lowered his head again, shutting his eyes lightly.
Aamori looked back over to Hikari when she told her it was alright. She sighed again and then noticed that Hikari had moved closer to her and was trying to help her keep the weight off her leg. She shook her head a little when she offered to piggyback her. The last thing she wanted was to have Hikari carry her back. She thought Hikari had carried each of them more then enough for today. Besides, like she said it wasn't all that far away. She'd be able to get off her leg in due time and it'd probably even be better by morning. |
Marius sat back down on the edge of the bed again after he put the bag away and then continued to comb his fingers through Celestine's hair. He smiled weakly as he looked down at him. He used to get to do that to him when he was still a little boy and used to come to stay a night or two with him. Before the other day he hadn't seen Celestine in a few years. The boy had changed on him a lot over the years. He used to be a very happy child, but after the town was attacked that all went downhill. He hardly ever smiled or laughed after that, and then he just up and disappeared on all of them for four years. He had started to believe like many that he was dead, so he was rather thrilled to see him the other day when he came over. He just hoped that this wasn't going to be the last time that he ever got to see him alive. After a few moments he leaned over him, gently letting his forehead rest against Celestine's as he closed his eyes. "...Be strong my child." he said softly.
Hikari nodded slightly to Aamori when she declined her offer to let her carry her. "Alright... Just try not to put a lot of pressure on it." she said softly as she walked with her. She kept her arm around her lightly. She looked ahead to see that they were getting close to the edge of the town and then glanced at Nero's back. She just looked back to Aamori and continued walking silently beside her, deciding now to just stay quiet since Aamori obviously wasn't interested in talking. |
Nero continued walking without looking back even once. At least until he neared the edge of the town. He then glanced back briefly to make sure that the others were still back there. He gave a small sigh and turned back, continuing on. He was a little interested in seeing how Celestine was doing, though he obviously wasn't as concerned as Hikari or Aamori.
Aamori glanced back to Hikari and gave a nod when she said not to put a lot of pressure on it. She hadn't planned on it, or rather she was going to try not to. She would have spoke to Hikari, and even answered her questions without just nodding or shaking her head but every time she tried to speak nothing came out. It wasn't like she didn't want to talk, it was more like she'd just lost her voice all together. She smiled a little when she noticed they were nearing the village. That was a relief at least, she wasn't sure she'd have been able to go two days without any news. Nobu looked back up to Aamori and then over to Hikari briefly once they reached the village. Then he started walking a little faster, moving past Nero in no time and then started off a light run. Since he broke away from the others it took him no time at all to reach Marius' house and he rushed right up to Kyran forcing his head into his lap and nearly knocking him back. Kyran had still had his head lowered and his eyes shut and he'd even dozed off for a moment. He startled when he felt something knock him back a little and his eyes shot open. He gave a relieved sigh when he saw that it was only Nobu. He sat back up straight and started to rub Nobu on the head softly. "...You're here a little sooner then expected." He said lightly as he looked down at him. "Are the others with you, or did you leave them behind?" He asked softly, though he wasn't expecting an answer. |
Hikari glanced up when she saw Nobu take of ahead of Nero and then shook her head slightly and sighed softly. She glanced back briefly to check on Nanashi and then looked straight ahead again. She was glad that Marius' house wasn't too far from this end of town. She glanced over to Aamori again and offered her a weak smile again before she glanced back again to already see Marius's house and Kyran sitting on the porch with Nobu. She guessed that was a good sign, he didn't look too terribly upset so she guessed Celestine must at least still be alive. She tried to hurry just a tiny bit, though she didn't want to rush Aamori too much.
Nanashi just kept his eyes down on the ground or occasionally on LaRae as he followed after Hikari and Aamori. He stayed just a few feet behind them at all times, but he was keeping up with them as much as he wanted to. He sighed softly and looked up after a little bit. He really wasn't sure where in the world they were going until he looked up to see Kyran on someone's porch. He guessed that was probably where they were going, though he had no idea at all who lived there. |
Nero watched as Nobu took off. He thought about asking where he was going in such a hurry but that question ended up answered before he could even ask. He saw Kyran sitting on the porch of that house, and Nobu was with him. He wasn't sure who's house it was. Once he reached the house he just stood off to the side slightly and looked over at Kyran.
Kyran glanced up from Nobu when he noticed Nero approach. He gently pushed Nobu aside and started to stand up. He was relieved to see Nero, surprisingly. Though he was happier seeing that Hikari and the others were here too. He stepped away from the porch a little and looked at Hikari and then to Aamori as they approached. "You guys made it here pretty quickly." He commented. "...What happened to your leg, Aamori?" He asked curiously. Aamori noticed how close they were getting to Marius' house and looked up seeing Kyran on the porch. She was glad to see him there, at least that meant that he did make it back here. She tried move faster even with her leg the way it was. When they reached Marius' house she gently pulled herself away from Hikari. She glanced up at Kyran when she heard the question about her leg and then looked away. She didn't even bother trying to talk this time, she had a feeling nothing would come out again just like the other times. Nobu stood there for a moment after Kyran had pushed him aside. Though he rather quickly found himself up on the porch pawing at the front door. Of course he wanted inside to go check on Celestine. He was just as worried about him as Hikari and Aamori were. |
Hikari smiled when she got near Kyran and then glanced over to Aamori when she moved away from her. She looked back to Kyran and shook her head slightly. "I flew them back, Aamori and I didn't want to wait two days for any news." she said simply, "...I think she stove her leg up a little getting off of my back." she told him. She glanced up on the porch when she heard something scratching at the door and smiled weakly. "Looks like Nobu doesn't want to wait, either." she commented softly.
Nanashi looked up to the house once he got close enough and then glanced around for a moment. "...Whose house is this?" he asked quietly. He was starting to get annoyed with his voice. He was trying to speak normally and it sounded more like he was trying to whisper to everyone. Marius looked toward the bedroom door when he heard something from the front entrance that sounded like scratching. He guessed that the others much have arrived by now. It sounded like Kyran's pet was pretty eager to get inside. He didn't mind the animal in the house, so long as it went back outside to do it's business and didn't mess anything up, but he would let Kyran or someone else let it inside. He didn't feel like getting up right this minute to let it in. |
Kyran nodded lightly. Well that explained how they got here so quickly. Had he thought about it that himself he probably could've flown everyone here at once. It didn't matter now, he still managed to get Celestine here pretty quickly considering everything. He glanced back over to Aamori for a moment after Hikari answered the question for her. He was a little surprised that she hadn't answered the question herself. "Are you going to be alright, Aamori?" He asked before glancing back towards the house and seeing Nobu at the door. He gave a sigh and headed onto the porch to the front door. He then opened it and watched Nobu slip inside. He hoped Marius wouldn't mind Nobu being inside; He could always bring him back outside after he was done checking on Celestine.
Aamori looked over to Hikari when she answered the question he asked. She gave a sigh when she heard Kyran ask if she was going to be alright. She looked up to him and gave a nod of her head. Her eyes trailed over to the door when Kyran moved to open it for Nobu. She of course wanted to follow him but stayed where she was. She was half afraid to just go walking into the house to look for Celestine. She thought she might wait to hear how he was from Kyran first. Nobu slipped inside as soon as Kyran opened the door a little. He stood at the door for a moment before be started following his nose straight down the hallway towards the room he smelt Celestine in. He paused at the doorway almost hesitant to go inside the room since there was someone else he didn't know already in there. He looked to the older man for a moment before stepping into the room and moving closer to the bed. |
Hikari looked over to Aamori for a moment and then watched as Kyran went to go let Nobu inside. She sighed and stepped up on the porch as well, looking up at Kyran. She almost knocked the glass of ice water over with her foot, but she sidestepped it before she hit it. "...Well, Kyran...how is he doing?" she asked finally. She'd been dying to ask since she walked up to him, but she was waiting to see if maybe Aamori was going to ask first. "Is he going to be alright?" She was more concentrated on getting an answer to that then just about anything else. She hadn't even heard Nanashi speak.
Nanashi just sighed when no one bothered to answer his question, of course he guessed that no one heard him. Oh well, it wasn't that important, and he couldn't talk over Hikari, anyway. He just looked back to the door and adjusted LaRae's weight again slightly. He was ready to lay her down somewhere and have a seat himself, but he was waiting for everyone else to head inside first. Marius looked over to the bedroom door again when he saw the animal stick its head into the door. He smiled weakly as he walked closer to the bed and looked down to him. "...Well...you're a strange looking fellow..." he said softly. He reached down to gently rub the top of Nobu's head and then looked over to Celestine for a moment. "I think you have a visitor." Celestine tried to open his eyes, but he couldn't make his eyelids budge at all. He heard nails clicking on the hardwood floor so it wasn't too hard to guess who the visitor was, especially after what Marius said about him being strange looking. 'Nobu...' he thought, trying to make sure. At least now he could finally get something across to someone. He could barely concentrate hard enough to think straight, so he doubted that he would be able to talk to anyone else. The only reason that he could converse with Nobu so easily was because he was able to receive thoughts more easily. |
Kyran watched when Hikari came onto the porch and then moved over to grab the glass of water before anyone else had a chance to knock it over. "...Well, he's resting right now." He started. "...I didn't get a yes or no answer out of Marius when I asked him." He paused with a sigh. "He said if Celestine got any worse, he feared he might not survive." He said quietly. "...With how he looked before I came out here, I'm not so sure I'd even want to see what worse looked like." He commented before taking another quick drink from the glass. "Oh..." He paused. "....Marius also said that there isn't ...a cure ...for the poison..."
Aamori started to move a little closer to the porch when she heard Hikari ask the questions that she wanted to ask. She listened to what Kyran said and then averted her eyes. That wasn't really what she was hoping to hear; She'd have preferred to hear a yes, he was going to be fine. She could feel the tears starting to form again when Kyran said that there wasn't a cure for the poison. She turned slightly so that her back was to them now. This news so far definitely wasn't making her feel any better. Nobu came to a stop right next to the bed and sat down. Though he looked up at the man when he said he was strange looking. He relaxed slightly after the man rubbed his head. His ears perked up when he heard Celestine's thought and he turned his head so that he could look over at him. 'So you're still conscious...' He paused. 'You've had us worried.' |
Hikari's ears fell back when she heard Kyran's answer and then she lowered her eyes. "Oh...I see..." she said quietly. "...Do there's...nothing more anyone can do?..." She looked down to Aamori again and sighed softly before she turned and stepped off of the porch again and went to stand beside her. She didn't have to see her face to know that the news had really upset her again. She lightly raised her hand to her shoulder and held it there. "...Do you want to go inside?" she asked quietly.
Nanashi had moved up to stand near the porch as well. His ears fell back when he heard Kyran's answer to Hikari's question. He lowered his eyes again and shook his head slightly. He'd been hoping for a better answer as well. Sure Celestine was a pain and he and LaRae didn't get a long at all, but he still hoped that he would be alright. Celestine still couldn't make anything move at all, he finally gave up trying. 'I...I'm sorry...I can't move...I... e-everything is...numb and...burning....it hurts.' The numb feeling that had come over him earlier was accompanied by a very painful burning sensation as well, he half felt like his blood was on fire. It was apparent that he was still more than a little frightened. He would feel better if he could at least open his eyes, but his lids felt like lead. '...Please don't leave me' Marius looked down at Nobu curiously and then stood up slowly. The way that his ears perked up when she looked at Celestine made him wonder if he was hearing something that he couldn't. He stepped back and went over to sit in the chair that Kyran had been in earlier, leaving room for the animal to climb up there if he wanted. He knew that Celestine was fond of that thing, whatever it was, so he saw no harm in letting it into the bed so long as it didn't lay on his face. Celestine always had been an animal lover. maybe that would be some comfort to him. |
Kyran sighed heavily after hearing the question that Hikari had asked. He glanced over seeing how Aamori had reacted to what he had already said. He was a little hesitant to say anything more, but it did need to be said. Besides, if he didn't answer it he was sure that Hikari would just ask Marius. "...Unfortunately, no ...To my understanding there is nothing more that anyone can do." He said quietly. He looked over at Aamori when Hikari asked if she wanted to go inside. "Oh. Marius also said that we were welcome to stay here as long as we need." He added lastly.
Aamori continued to stand there quietly just listening to the other things being said. She didn't like hearing that there wasn't anything more that could be done. After hearing that she'd lifted both of her hands to her face to hide the fact that she'd started crying again. She barely even noticed when Hikari had touched her shoulder, though she did hear her question. She just stood there for a moment. She wanted to go inside, but at the same time she wasn't so sure she was ready to. Nobu kept looking at Celestine at least until he noticed that Marius was moving over to the chair. Once there was room for him to get up onto the bed he moved slightly to climb up, but paused and looked over at Marius as if making sure it was alright. He then proceeded to climb up onto the bed carefully, then moved so that he could lay beside Celestine. 'I won't go anywhere, I promise.' He thought to him as he gently laid his head down on his chest. '...And you don't need to apologize.' He paused. '...If there was anything that I could do to help ease the pain, know that I would.' |
